Cinemark Children throwing candy

I am a senior who likes to go to the movies but on Aug 2 while watching Jungle cruise 5 kids sitting behind me started throwing candy at me. I let it go the first time but after being hit the 2nd time I went out to talk to the manager and told her what was going on. I pointed out the kids and she tells me to wait outside when she came out she tells me she talked to their mother who stated she knew that her kids had thrown candy and told them to stop. and if I wanted my money back or see the movie later. So I get punished and the kids get to stay and watch the movie. Is this what America has come to. Kids get away with doing what ever they want with no circumstance. And seniors get assaulted in theaters. Next time I will call the police. The manager didn't want to give back the money to the 5 kids and their mother but it would be cheaper to just give one senior his money back.

Desired outcome: The removal of the kids and their mother.

Cinemark Customer Service

Came to watch movie with family member and was stopped from scanning ticket to check family members bag size. Vernon, at the front, stated we'd have to place it elsewhere because it doesn't meet bay policy. Came back up to theatre and witness family with a large tote bag and large personal bag. When asked, why was that family allowed in the theatre, Vernon at front stated "because they had an open bag and there was a jacket inside". I stated "my family member had a tote bag which was open" he proceeded to get a little loud with me and stated something I couldn't understand. Because of the line behind me, I told him that was not cool and walked away. Upon purchasing popcorn I asked for a manager, Sheya asked if I needed help which I told her about what happened. She stated, "what happened was that they probably showed him what's in the bag and if a customer says they have medical supplies, they can come in" I replied, "so if I said she had diabetic supplies in her bag when she doesn't, she can bring her bag?" She stated with a shrug, "yeah, we aren't allowed to look inside the bags". If there's a policy in order, it needs to be upheld by everyone, employees and customers. If not implemented, why have a policy in place.

Desired outcome: Implement policy all around.

Cinemark Discriminatory behavior

Try to contact you since October 14, 2019
Accident October 12th, 2019
On Saturday, I went to this movie theater with my mother (67 y/o) my aunt (65 y/o) and my kids (6 y/o), when we tried to enter, Mr. Jay Sotang the ticket taker, told us that my mom and aunt cannot enter because their purses were too big and a new policy does not allow it, I asked him to please check inside the purses and let us in, because the parking was far and it was really hot, he said no, we cannot go in, however I understood and I went to the car to leave the purses there, when I came back I noticed that he was allowing all women with big purses into the theater, I asked him why he did not let us in?, and in a very rude way he just told me that is the rule and told me to move away from the line, and asked him to please call the manager, when the manager came Mr. Jacob Scoby, he repeated the same about the rule, he told me that senior citizen can go in with the purse when I told him that my mom and aunt are seniors, he then told me that because of the movie The Joker they don't allow the purses, then I told him we were going to see the Addams Family, he went back to that's the rule, I am not complaining about the rule, I complaint because the rule was ONLY APPLIED TO US, I do not know if I was treated like that because I was a woman or a black Hispanic woman, but I feel completely discriminated, in the 25 minutes I was there talking to Mr. Scoby, no one else was send back to the parking, or denied the entrance to the theater, only to us, no one ever apologized, no one ever tried to fix the problem Mr. Sotang was looking at me like I was garbage and smiled when I left, because I just request my money back and leave, I never felt more humiliated in my live, like the way your staff make me feel that Saturday, ruining the afternoon for my kids, and my senior citizen mother and aunt. I did not know your company approved discrimination policies, but if after a month complaining no single person from Cinemark contacted me about this matter, I guess you agreed with that way to treat the clients.

I was escorted by 2 police officers out of the Cinemark Spring Klein Xd theater for not wearing shoes. This was totally illegal because there is a Texas law that states no one can refuse anyone going into a business barefooted. Please let me know who I need to contact to send a discrimination complaint to via the Texas state discrimination department

Staff are not walking the theater to ensure customers are following the covid-19 seat spacing, some customers are switching seats in the movie theater and not leaving the seats vacant that should be vacant. Staff should do checks to ensure everyone is in there correct seats.

Hello I just want to warn all minorities that plan to attend this theatre that according there is a new bag policy that will prohibit you from going into the theatre. This was me and my hubbies first date night in a long time so we decided to go see the Invisible Man. We had pre paid for out tickets so I was excited. When we arrive to the ticket booth...

Cinemark Emails

I have two personal email addresses. I don't actually recall ever clicking "subscribe" for any of these emails to come to me in the first place, so that's the first frustrating thing. But the second is that I have "unsubscribed", or been taken to that page about 100 times, and I am STILL GETTING YOUR EMAILS! I've submitted one email to this company already earlier this week but of course, haven't heard back. Every time I open one of these emails and scroll all the way to the bottom where I can click "unsubscribe", I am taken to a page that tells me my only option is to opt-in to these emails. If it's telling me I have to opt-in, shouldn't that mean I'm not on your list? And yet, I get what feels like 1000 emails a week from you, and ALL I WANT IS FOR MY EMAIL ADDRESSES TO BE TAKEN THE HECK OFF YOUR EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION LIST! I haven't gone to one of your theaters in almost a year, because of this and multiple other reasons, and I don't see myself going back any time soon. My personal emails are [protected]@gmail.com and channing.[protected]@icloud.com.
TAKE. ME. OFF. ALL. OF. YOUR. LISTS.
Thanks.

I worked for the Cinemark and it was horrible. I was accused of liking one of the managers and I was talked about by them for four months straight. (Longer than that, but not for this specific issue) They would talk about me while I was standing literally right next to them. It was awful and caused me to become depressed. It's also very relevant to say that...

I have been to the Cinemark In Evanston, IL, several times and not one-time have I seen employees checking on people to verify if someone is using their cell phones during the movie which the manager stated they do. On December 27, 2019, a young woman and an older lady were told politely to shut her phone off by a person the same row. I was sitting on the...

To Whom It May Concern: I don't believe I have ever taken time to write to a Company. On December 28th, 2019, I went to see a movie at your theatre, Cinemark and watched "Bombshell." It was a great movie from what I was able to see. There were a few really bad things that I noticed at your theatre. The bathrooms didn't have hand towels; there was only one...

Today my daughter and I went to the Paducah Ky theater and was a little upset over this new seating arrangement. The guy that took my free ticket voucher asked what seat I wanted. I told him I did not know!!! He just punched in two different seats and handed me my tickets. My daughter and I went into the theater and went and picked out two seats. Just...

My husband is disabled and we went to see a movie here. He inadvertently purchased spaces for a wheel chair. So we sat down in the next seats and some people who are not disabled came and insisted that since they bought the seats they should have them. The theatre had plenty of empty seats together. Rather than adhering to the policy that the handicapped...

Cinemark isles

I'm retired & disabled, but still love to go to movies. But because of my back & legs I can't climb steps. I love to sit up higher to watch the movie, but can't because of the steps you have to climb. I went with my son & his family a few weeks ago & he got seats about half way up thinking I could handle them, but I had a very hard time getting up them & when we left I actually fell due to the steps. My question is, why can't there be a ramp to access the seats instead of steps. There are ramps from the door to the first row of seats, but then it changes to steps. I know I'm not the only person with this problem & would like to be able to sit up higher instead of that first row so close to the screen. There are two sides to access the seating, so why can't one side have a ramp going up to all of the rows of seats? Think about it, you might gain some customers that like to go but can't sit up high because of the steps & they don't want to sit so close to the screen. I have a friend that can't sit close it makes her sick to her stomach, so now since I can't climb steps, we can't even go to a movie together.
Thank you,
Paulette Brown

Cinemark I worked here

This work place unsanitary, they have fruit flies everywhere and and other staff that works behind qsr don't use gloves when they're making pretzels. The work place isn't safe because 1 staff get hit by customers and I actually got threatened by a coworker and I got sent home. Also there are really racist and picky when it comes to staff some of the managers don't do anything but walk around giggling with other managers they find attractive and yet they don't do they're jobs and write people up without actually knowing what happens. The GM is terrible most of the managers are terrible but the good ones are Ms porter Mr porter Ms Carpenter and that's all. The staff is unprofessional they vape in front of customers and they're rude

Cinemark theater usher

Last night My husband and I took our cousin out to see Crawl( a rated R thriller) at a 7:30pm showing. It was made known to us that by one of your ushers that we had a 4 noise complaints towards us due to our expression to a THRILLER RATED R MOVIE. She told us to keep it down and walked away but then came back to check Our ID's which didn't make any sense to me. My husband didn't bring his wallet due to the fact that I did all driving and all of our money is on our banking card and who expects to get carded? I showed her my ID but our cousin only had his high school ID which didn't have his birthday and yr on it even though he is 18. So because my husband and cousin didn't have their proper ID on them we had to leave! Your theater usher was rude and militant. I spoke to her when we walked out of the movie(because I'm really not trying to have a discussion like this during a movie and further interrupt) and I asked her why she needed to see our ID? She said "I just went on and checked it because of the noise complaint and because you have to be 18Yrs and up(which all of us were) to get into an R rated movie." I told her "I understand what you're saying, but that just means you should be checking ID beforehand and not in the middle of a movie. This isn't the first time we've come to see an R rated movie and we've never been checked for ID, so that just means you all aren't doing your job properly." I don't believe a noise complaint warrants an ID check, especially if it's protocol to check people beforehand. I didn't appreciate your usher's attitude, she was rude and on the lines of being disrespectful and I told her that! Normally I'm understanding and would brush off poor attitude of those who work in customer service because I too work in that field and I understand that people can be hard to deal with. This time was different for me and I couldn't just let this situation slide without anything being said. My husband and I had been going to Cinemark in southland (which is far for us) but we came across the location in Ann Arbor which was much closer and in our opinion better than the other one in southland. Unfortunately, this situation and the usher's poor service was a complete turn off from this theater.
