CitiFinancial Servicing Personal loan

I have take a loan from Visions, Canada.
The retail loan was taken care of by Citifinancial.
The Visions(retailer) and the Citifinancial never ever told me to set up an account with citifinancial.

I went into citifinancial branch on April 1, 2016 to transfer that retail balance to the citifinancial. The appointment was for 3 pm and whoever pissed me off by telling me that I have to pay 290 CAD each month. I finally rejected the offer.

I tried to pay at Visions electronics, but could not as they did not allow me to set up that as they said I have to pay at citifinancial branch or set up an online account.

I tried to set up an online account and it did not work as i think the branch i went into want to piss me off again as they have registered me. I have not given my username and password as they must have. But they didn't.

My payment is due tomorrow (April 2, 2016). I request you to give me my online registration username and password to pay my balance.

Thank you

CitiFinancial Servicing Possible scam

I was contacted by Mr. Rick Martin via email stating I had been approved for a cash loan of up to 4000. I contacted M. Martin and requested 2000. The only requirement being that I pay the first months installment in advance, Since that time Mr. Martin has continually required me to pay additional monies in order to secure the loan. His accounting Manager Mr. Eric Wilson has also required me to pay additional monies to receive the funds. I encourage CitiFinancial to investigate these individuals for possible scams under their company name
The number I was given to contact them is [protected]

Weve had our first with First Family, They sold out to CitiFinancial in 2001. Our was for 38, 000.00, After CitiFinancial has taken over here we are in 2016 and they say we still owe 28, 000.00. Say that our is simple intrest and has a daily combine interst rate, with Frist Family it was flat fix rate, now they say that the payments has been paid every 30 days, so on the 31 st day everything goes to interst and nothing to the amount plus has extra interst added to it. What can we do about this.

Purchased items under a promotion of free financing (with an administration fee). About 6 months into the 2 year free financing Citifinancial started to collect a $20 per year fee for using their financing.

CitiFinancial Servicing Renewing without 2 signatures

What act does CitiFinancial follow if not the same as the Banks process as I would like to see something in writing in regards to the ability to renew/amend a contract when original contract has 2 borrowers. My ex (borrower #1) and I was co signer. 11 yrs later I had to call and find out that it is going in foreclosure. He renewed without my signature- clearly states Both Parties agree yet I was 5000 miles away and N/A in place of my name was done. My aunt is a Mortgage expert in the province and advised this is not allowed yet your staff says it is. I HAVE NEVER been contacted due to delinquency yet you have my address when you need to sell/foreclose= You don't want the property= ins and disability was cancelled- renewed the loan without proof of insurance on the properly. give me 4 days.. how about I get an act that allows me to clearly see how SHADY CitiFinancial is~

CitiFinancial Servicing Payments and attitudes

Over a year ago, I released my home in North Carolina to my sister to assume the loan with Citifinancial. None the less I am displeased with this company in doing what they need to do in getting things done. I and my sister got together them to send information needed for her to talk to Citifinancial regarding the loan and the payments. I have called to try and get them to do what they needed to do in the first place. The payments on the home have been caught up and still we can't seem to catch a break with Citifinancial. This Shabazz or whomever he is that answers the phone is rude and a liar. On June 4, 2014 tried to get me to talk to him and to say that the calls were being monitored. Not one time has Citifinancial had phone calls monitored. I called and asked for another person and stated the he was on the phone. These people aren't on the phone. They want someone rude and arrogant to speak with me and I will not do it. They really don't want the home. They just want to harass you into making payments. If I would have known how these people were, I would have never have done business with them. I am praying for my miracle that this home gets paid off! I am tired of being harassed and taken advantage of.

CitiFinancial Servicing NSF fees

After looking at my online account I thought it was a little weird that it said the next payment that will be debited is March 2014. Being confused as payments were normally coming out every month I decided to be proactive and call my Citifinacial branch in Mississauga at Heartland. After speaking to the rep and being informed that a payment would not come out until March 2014, I double checked with agent just to ensure that he was correct.

After speaking to the agent on Nov 29, I was than charged the full amount of my payment on Dec 03. I called Citifinancial on Dec 4 to have this situation rectified. I was than told by Amro from the Mississauga office that "the agent that spoke to you did not leave notes on your acct that I called and I have no proof that I was advised that payments will be coming out in March" I than asked him to pull the phone call and he let me know "we do not record phone calls but you can borrow more money if you would like."

I than requested to speak to a manager which I was told that the manager that can help me would contact me on Friday December 6th. I decided to call the morning of the 6th to speak to Amro once again for me to speak to his manager. He than told me " I will speak to my boss today and he WILL call you back TODAY." I called him at at 5:50 that day and he informed me "My boss has left and we can not do anything to help you."

Now I am furious as I feel that the customer service that is being provided to me is a joke. There is no such thing as customer appreciation for this company

He than tried to rush me off the phone so that he can catch his bus.

Really?!?!

Since I have been with Citifinancial I have not missed one payment in the almost two year relationship I've had with them and have no need to pull a "fast one" Which is what Amro referred that I may be doing. I advise if dealing with this company to record every conversation you have with them, as Amro said to me " If I have to record conversations than I should."

Long story short, I will be going to their office on Monday and will not be leaving until I receive by $45 NSF reimbursement for the mistake that was made by THEIR institution

If I understand you right they might have done to you what they did to me and that is refinance your loan without your consent. I have started a facebook against Citifinancial - I am working on getting a petition together to have laws in Canada for Predatory Lending. If you didn't miss a payment in two years asked them what balance is I would bet that its the same or more then when you started, this people are criminals. I am working now with my MP/MPP to setup the petition to have the laws changed. It is legal to record the calls as long as one person consents which in this case is you if I were you I would make sure I record every single call you make to them. One way of knowing if they changed the terms is if they tell you the monthly payment amounts changed and you had no knowledge of it, they might provide you with a small payment claiming it is interest they owe you. Don't sign any other agreements with them, refuse to sign anything and whatever you do don't send them any money for payment adjustments. They might try and send you a request for a separate payment from you don't pay them anything. They tried this with me they changed the terms and tried to con me into payment this "adjustment" amount which just happened to be the same amount as the new loan terms that they changed. If you didn't agree to insurance double check that they didn't sign you up without your consent they also did that to me.

CitiFinancial Servicing Scams

I urge anyone who has a loan with this company whether it be a car, mortgage, or personal, demand a payment history. We found missing transactions after cash payments, guess she thought we wouldn't hold onto our receipts or thought they would have forclosed on us before we found out their scam. They also tried to hide a payment in interest and then place a deferment on our acct and charged us more interest. You need to contact your AG and BBB and FTC. My question now is to the CEO of Citifinancial, What happento those transactions? Why was I charged late fees when I wasn't late? What happened to your champ program? Why are these branch managers still working? Isn't it illegal to change the bookeeping, especially hiding stuff from the AG office?

CitiFinancial Servicing Payments not applied to principal

I financed a car through Citifinancial Auto in May 2007. My account was charged a late fee every single month for over a year no matter when the payment was made. They did not apply a payment to my account and I was charged more late fees even though I sent then a copy of the cancelled check 4 times. The charges were never refunded. It took them 7 months to correct that error. I received threatening and harassing phone calls, including being cussed and called a liar numerous times. They never applied anything to the principal of the loan for over 1 yr. The loan was then sold to Santander Consumer USA and I was told by a customer service agent in Jamaica that I was paying all that in interest because I delayed 3 payments. Which means I paid over $5, 000 extra in interest to delay them. They have not helped at all to resolve issues when I have made 56 of the 60 payments.

Boy, did I ever make a huge mistake, taking a loan form Citifinacial, bought a car two years ago, for about 10, 000 which was over price anyways, but after two years of 259.00 a month payments, my loan is still at 9, 920.00, which means I pay about 80 dollars towards the loan and 6, 060 in interest. talk about loan sharking...time to file bankruptcy...last payment 1.87 went to the balance...at this rate the car will cost me 100, 000.00

They have broken the law numerous times in collecting on this persons vehicle loan. You can see more about it here:

http://litigiousconsumer.com/category/citifinancial-auto/

Basically they used automated dialers to leave messages on these peoples cellphone. This is highly illegal.

CitiFinancial repoed our car after we tried to make several payment for the monthly amount however refused to accept the payment we had slipped 2 payments and gotten behind and after that they charged us ridiculous late fees and interest on top of that they even put there own insurance on our car claiming the full coverage through Farmers Insurance in which I had 3 vehicles insured for more than 12 years fully with them CitiFinancial said it was not good enough so they charged us additional monies on top of our monthly payment plus late fee plus interest.
These people are low life scamming ### that take advantage of good hard working people by over charging adding ridiculous charges that don't need to be applied and charging interest that is astronomical like 23% because of our no credit or bad credit history and they know there isn't a damn thing we can do about it because by the time you hire a lawyer to fight them you have lost just as much if not more money than if you just paid the ridiculous price to begin with, not to mention you probably aren't going to win against their high priced paid lawyers anyhow.

I am currently having issues with Citifinancial myself, that's what got me here. I have been paying $400 a month on my vehicle for the last 2 and a half years & they say I still owe them $15, 714. I could go to an individual & buy this same truck for proly about $9, 000. It's absolutely ridiculous how much I'm paying for this vehicle. Not only that, lately I've been having financial difficulties so I called them (I called them because they keep sending me letters saying that if I'm having trouble making my payments that they can help) to try to get my payments lowered & they wanted me to fax them a bunch of stuff so I did, then I had to call them back to check on the status & they said they haven't reached a conclusion, for me to call back, so I did & they kept telling me this for 2 weeks, by then my payment was late & they told me they couldn't help me because my payment was late that I would have to make a payment so I did & I'm still trying to get my payments lowered & it has been 3 months. Now I'm just wondering when the repo guys will show up. It makes me mad after I have paid over $10, 000 for this vehicle & now I'm just gonna lose it cause they won't help their customers. I also turned them into the better business bureau but haven't heard anything back on that.

CitiFinancial Servicing Payoff balance not being applied

I typed a lot and it deleted so I got a loan from citifinancial and they have been taking my money and not applying it accordingly. I have been making monthly payments to payoff my truck of $186.00 a last 12/10 I asked for a payoff it was $3667.00 today 11/11 the payoff is still $2734.00! Thats less than $1, 000.00 I notice when I called in to make a payment they told em I owed $440.00 I explained I couldnt owe that they explained it was a missed payment from June of 2010.. I was refinanced and they epxlained to me that I didnt have to make a payment for that month.. I dont appreciate this account and the payments not being applied properly, Employees have called and offered me deals leaving me messages on my voicemail about this and then I send in my personal information for them to work on my account and then the employee no longer worked there and I was told my stuff was locked up in a cabinet and Stacie located in the branch off of west road in Houston had disappeared from work and they couldnt honor there offer to me. so things have been majorly spiralling out of control. Just on 04/11 I payment was made. They told me I only had to pay $150.00 on my account Its normally $186.00 I paid $150. and they applied all of that payment to their interest and only $0.78 to my balance. That is wrong and its taking money from paying off my account. It hasnt gone down in the payoff but by $850. since last year...also Bernie in that office cussed me out last night and hes suppose to be a manager. always explaining they can help but I called to make my monthly payment and they want to tell me I owe $441.00 when I dont.. They have messed up this account. and refuse to fix it.

CitiFinancial Servicing Over charge of taxes on repo

About 7 yrs ago my son needed a car and we found a nice Pontiac GP and due to his age I had to co sign for the loan. Well long story short, the car got repossessed and the car was resold by the bank. About 1 yr ago both my son and I recieved a bill from the IRS for $600+ in regards to this car. Now while I understand what the $600+ was for (taxes on the added income from the remaining balance on the unpaid loan) but how the hell are they allowed to charge both people the same amount of taxes on about $4000 remaining on the loan. I don't know for sure if they are legally allowed to charge 2 people the same amount of taxes. my son has already paid this amount out of his tax return last year so it should not be appearing on my tax record. If anyone knows the truth about this please post something. If I HAVE to pay this bill then I will but I really want to know if they are legally allowed to charge 2 people taxes on a remaining loan after a repo.

CitiFinancial Servicing Paying payments with no vecheicle

I bought a van paid 4 years with no problem, when economy turned down I was unable to pay for this van, I called them and did a voluntary rep. but 3 times before I asked for help to lower van payment they said they could not help, I am taking care of an elder parent, paying all bills and some med. they still are making me pay that 8, 000 dollars at 150.00 per month if they had helped in the first place I could have kept the van, now I am stuck with 2 old vehicles plus 150.00 payment for a van I do not own. I think this is very sad that they can take advantage of those who are down on there luck, and others just walk away, Account # 2840318, though c.r.s. I have lost pay in the last year making it very hard to pay for gas since its up and feeding myself and elder parent. thank you Linda J. Hart

CitiFinancial Servicing Unauthorized credit inquiry

May 23, 2011: I went to the Lakewood Ohio office of CitiFinancial to apply for a consumer loan. Account executive Sam Calvin greeted me and began to service my request.

After gathering personal information, Sam asked me to verbally authorize him to do a credit search so he could complete the loan request. I agreed. After a few minutes, he stated he was having difficulty with the computer. He stated that there was an issue with the computer that was not allowing him to complete the request. He stated that he needed to contact TECH support to seek a resolution to the problem. He did so, but after a long time, no resolution was found to correct the glitch.

I had been sitting there, uncomfortably for an hour already, so he said he didn't think there was going to be a resolution any time soon and was going to send me away until a resolution could be found.I told him not to make another credit inquiry, as too many credit inquiries are detrimental to one's credit. He agreed. He said he would call me before the end of the day to apprise me of the progress made toward finding a solution, but that call never came.

I called back the next day, Today: May 24 th 2011 to find out what had transpired. He said the issue had not been resolved yet. I asked how long I should expect to wait. He said he would call me back within an hour or two. That was at 9:15 am...By 3:00pm I had not recieved a call back. I called the office again. I asked to speak to the branch manager(Jenniffer) I have no last name available for her. I was informed by her the loan had been approved. I asked what the resolution had been to the problem. She stated a SECOND credit inquiry had been done.

I asked her why a second inquiry had been done, as I had stricttly forbidden Sam to do so.. She said she would talk to Sam and find out/. I told her I no longer wanted to have Sam handle my account!. She stated that I could deal with her directly/. I was concerned about the whole process(plus Sam's desk is only 3 feet from Jenniffer's);. That I felt uncomfortable about going in there as it would be clear that I had refused to let my account be handled by sam any more'. I told Jennifer that what Sam did was disrespectful, unprofessional and maybe even fraudulent, and I didn't want this ### initiate any kind of action with me when I arrived or I would turn his desk over!. Jennifer said..."well, you can't threaten my employees, so I will not allow you to come to my office" I apologized for my comment saying, I was upset over what Sam had done and had spoken out of indignation.I told her I wasn't going to cause any problems. I just wanted to get my loan and go. She cancelled the loan approval.

Now I have TWO credit inquiries...an approval...and NO LOAN. I have already contacted CitiFinancial Corporate offices but have not gotten any response. I also contacted the next nearest CitiFinantial Branch. They will not proceed with anything until the current debacle is cleared up.

Sam Calvin LIED to me on multiple occasions. He did an unauthorized credit search and his Branch Manager refused to do any more business with me because I "threatened " her staff.

CitiFinancial Servicing Removes money from my account even after Loan is paided off

I recieved a loan from Citifinancial 3 years ago. When I received the loan, everything was fine. The representative I worked with was nice. Interest rate was horrible but that is not the compliant (29.75). After I received the loan I was harassed from representatives from the branch ever so often pressuring me to take out more loans, consolidate my debt (so they can own my house), and other things. I am a salesman so I know what following up is but this was harassment. They tried to pressure me in to all these things, especially consolidating my debt. But this is still not the compliant. After the loan was done they were still taking out payments. I, already on edge with this company was prepared for something like this and noticed it. They were fine with sending me the payment they took out that was not suppose to come out. But this seemed to be a common thing for them. I highly suggest not working with this company. They are very unprofessional and seem to be just a bunch of scam artists working behind a desk. With this company your interest is not their priority. I am sure they do this to everyone, where they slip a payment in without you knowing. I definitely regret working with this company and will not work with ever again. There are plenty of banks that are willing to work in your best interest (in Canada).

CitiFinancial Servicing Bad customer service

This is my second complaint. For over two years I have not receive a statement from these people on my car loan. I have tried calling them and all I get is a message from the operator saying that phone is no longer in service. On the second phone there is no answer. I have emailed them and the email address is not accepted. I emailed a differente address and still no response. I wrote them letters and have not received any reply. This is very aggravating. I will not send in my next payment and see if they are going to take actions against me. If they think they can repo the vehicle, they have a big surprise waiting for them. All I need from them is to tell me what my balance is. My car should be almost paid off.

I tried to contact a rep to make a payment and kept getting voice mail to leave a message and they would call me back. The man that called wouldnt answer my questions and would not give me phone number to call him back. I have been late on my loan so many times and just to get a straight answer and a phone number so I could give my ck acct number and get the payment made was like pulling teeth. I told him that I was trading the veh in and his whole attitude changed..."we havent talked to anyone about this...when did you do this...what dealer...whos the salesperson...I told him that I would call the dealer and call him back and he said...NO it dont work like that...put me on hold then i was disconnected. I m noyt hte best customer and Citifinancial did give a loan when no one else would BUT im still a customer...That use to mean something...If can get this veh traded in and ive been approved already...GOODBYE Citifinancial...poor customer service

these people financed our truck in 2004, they have sent mailings claiming to be able to lower our payment by reducing the intrest rate, so when I changed jobs, and my husband became ill and was off from work for 2 months, I contacted them, they gave me the usual run around, I finally got hold of a lady who quoted me an intrest rate that the loan could be lowered to, faxed her all the needed paperwork, only to discover that our intrest rate had been lowered a whopping 1%, in other words I GOT NO HELP AT ALL, by the way, if you are one day past the due date on your payment they are calling you 5 or more times a day! no kidding! Don't make the mistake I made, find a better lender

Loan a/c No.[protected]
Dear sir,
I have availed a consumer loan of Rs 75000/- @ 19.25% interest Flat per annum ( to be charged on reducing balance of the principal outstanding amount over the tennure of the loan)from citifinancial dt 29 Mar 07 and paid 33 instalment of Rs 2989/- each every month.

The citi financial has imposed Flat rate interst for 42 month and made EMI of Rs 2989/- each (75000 X 19.25% X 3.5 yrs =50551 (interest Plus 75000) = 125551 divided by 42 = 2989 ) to be payable up to oct 10

My contention is that it is flat rate not flat rate per annum as stated above and there is NO element of interest on reducing balance as per aggreement.

I explained them that in Flat rate annum ( to be charged on reducing balance of the principal outstanding amount over the tennure of the loan ), the principal component of EMI though reduced every month, is summated annually. Therefore, the interest is calculated on the original loan amount for the entire year. At the end of the year, the accumulated principal component is deducted from the original loan amount and the interest for the next year is calculated on this reduced loan amount.

Now in my case the calculation of interst should have been as follows:----

1st year 75000X19.25% = 14437.50 ( interest) ( 29 mar 07 to 28 mar 08)
Add principal = 75000.00
Total = 89437.50
EMI return 1st year= 35868.00 ( 12 X 2989 )
Balance amount = 53569.50

2nd year 53569.50 X 19.25%= 10312.12 ( interest) ( 29 mar 08 to 28 mar 09 )

Add principal = 53569.50
Total = 63881.62
EMI return 2nd year= 35868.00 ( 12 X 2989 )
Balance amount = 28013.62

3rd year 28013.62 X 19.25%= 5392.62 ( interest 29 mar 09 to 28 mar 10 )
Add principal = 28013.62
Total = 33406.24
paid up to Jan 10 = 26901.00 (EMI paid from may 09 to jan 10 )
Balance amount as on today= 6505.24

this amount will be paid in next two month.
As such my loan which is going to be paid within next month is asked to pay up
to oct 10
you are requested to look into this matter and and advise me

CitiFinancial Servicing Never recommend citifinancial to anyone needing a loan

As a former employee of CitiFinancial, I can tell with all honesty and sincerity that this company is a true Predatory Lender. CitiFinancial provides personal loans and mortgages to consumers who have less than perfect credit. They offer interest rates that range from 16% – 30% in most cases. As an employee for CitiFinancial we were encouraged to make the biggest loan possible that the customer qualified for.

For example, if the customer came in to borrow $1500 for auto repairs but qualified for $7500 we were encouraged to do whatever it took to get them to go for the biggest loan. Even if it meant the customer would struggle to pay a high monthly payment, but still qualified for the loan under CitiFinancial’s ability to pay guidelines, we were to talk them into the higher loan. And to add to the company’s bottom line we were made to offer the customer optional credit insurance that would “protect” their loan in the event of death, disability, or unemployment.

Of course these products added premiums to the overall cost of the loan and increased the customer’s monthly payment but if we didn’t sell these products we would get written up by our managers.

It was highly frowned upon if we did not sell optional credit insurance on each and every loan we made. And as for our mortgages, we had to offer mortgages to prospective customers at interest rates well above sub-prime. The average interest rate with CitiFinancial is 12%. How can you possibly sit across the table from someone and tell them it is in their best interest to consolidate a few bills with a mortgage for 30years at an interest rate of 12%.

Each and every day we had to make solicitation calls to customers that already had outstanding loans with us to get them to refinance (add more money) or start their contract over in order to skip a payment or bring the account up to date.

CitiFinancial does not want the consumer to ever pay them out. They want to keep refinancing and adding to the balance in an effort to keep you (the consumer) in debt to them. I would never recommend CitiFinancial to anyone needing a loan. Go to your local bank or credit union and try first. If you ever get involved with Citi, it is not likely you will ever get away!

I received a letter from Citi Financial advertising a loan of up to $4000 to use "any way I pleased". I called to get the application process rolling.

When they ask what the purpose of the loan was for I told them "an investment". I figured now is as good a time as any to go into fixed rate debt... inflation and all... and that I would invest the money into an undervalued asset class.

I was then told that I could not use the money to invest or to pay off student loan debt. When I pointed out that it said I could use the money for whatever I need I was then told that there were restrictions.

So I aksed, "Is this a cash loan?" The man replied, "what do you mean?" I then asked, "If I'm approved for the loan, do you cut me a check to deposit into my bank account?" and the man said yes.

At this point I was totally confused and for the most part, I feel like the advertisement was false and misleading because clearly I could not use the money for whatever I wanted to use it for.

By then of the call I was given the impression that the loan was to pay off bills or consolidate debt. When I asked the man why on god's green earth would I go into debt to consolidate debt he did not have an answer.

My opinion is that this is just dishonesty in an attempt to add a toxic debt to a balance sheet. Status quo for U.S. banking institutions as of late, huh?

I was forced stop working about three years ago and was my Mother's full-time caretaker. Staying at home and taking care of her meant there was only one income coming in. Medicaid claimed she made too much and therefore, if we did get her in home care, it would be costly. We had taken out a loan to get a vehicle around this time from Citi Bank and she co-signed with me. She recently passed in March and I have had nothing but hell from these people. I brought the death certificate in of my Mother and told them I would be seeking employment. I receive phone calls everyday from a local office here in Newport News, Virginia. I even went in earlier last week to let them no that I still have not found work. I told them as soon as I found employment I would notify them. I recently received a certified letter stating I have 10 days to pay the debt. So I decided to call the head office and spoke with a lady who was understanding and noted the information I told her on my account. She told me that they have programs that could help me, but the local Newport News office made no mention of these helpful programs. A lady from the local Newport News office called me today [protected] and I told her I spoke with the head people and she was not understanding at all. I don't like her tone of voice and I feel as if she is harassing me to collect this debt. Hopefully I will get some kind of employment soon because it is not my intention to dodge these people. I am honestly in a bind at this time.
