I have many pairs of Clark shoes because they are so very comfortable. You can imagine my dismay when not one, not two, but THREE pair of my Clark shoes have faulty stitching and have come apart. My shoe repairman said the shoes cannot be repaired. The comfort and style made it well worth the high prices I have paid for the shoes until they fell apart. Please help me. I need some recourse on this delimma.

I echo your complaint and dismay. Love, love, love the shoes for comfort and versatility even if they are a bit pricey, but when soles came lose from the uppers, that's just too much of a dangerous trip hazard. I am saddened that I will no longer buy Clark shoes.
What's my next best choice?

I had the same problem. The soles of 3 pairs of Clark shoes split at the stitching on the outside of the shoes. I thought it may have been because they were older, but now that I, ve read about others doing the same thing I think it is poor quality in the rubber used for the soles. The company should address this problem before there's a law suit for injuries or their sales go down.

I I have a pair of Clark's that I have had for a while ( I am on my second year of wearing them). I put them on today and both shoes came apart at the stitching to the sole. I have been buying your shoes for years and am dismayed by this. I have Clark's that are 4 and 5 years old that was still fine. What is this. About?

OMG..12/24/14 I'm at new job second week and casual day in office, walking down hallway and right shoe falls apart from top to sole with portion of the rubber trim falling off and stitching coming apart from the heel portion. Now granted I only wear these shoes in winter time in Orlando, Florida, however, since I bought them last year, its very apparent they've only been worn a couple of times...WOW...what's the procedure for gaining reimbursement for repairs, if possible or obtaining new pair?

Problem with Clark shoes, great upper quality BUT poor sole quality. Sole has fallen apart from shoe. Does Clark replace the poor quality shoe.

I have owned Clark shoes for a number of years. However, I have a pair of Clark shoes with very minimal wear, and have had the sole literally disintegrate/fall apart. They are unwearable even though the top of the shoe is fine. I would like to either have a refund or replacement.

Dear Clarks,
Decided to start wearing a new suede pair of your shoes Saturday that I haven’t worn before. After I laced them up, the sole detached completely and I walked out of the right shoe! Attached below are photos of the shoes as requested, as your customer service representative was unable to recognize the item # on the inside! Inside information was as follows: Clarks D10331P GB 10, US 10-1/2 Fit M. Insole states: Leather upper, leather/textile linings & man-made sole, Made in Portugal (light brown suede leather)Sole had Active AIR. Purchased in your outlet store in Ontario, CA
****The REQUESTED pictures and information above was sent to the email above with no response. Now, 4/20, called again, now they're sending me an RMA, but I pay to return them!

I had two pair of Clark scandals and like the others I love the. I wore one out and saved the other pair for good. When I wore them for the first time this summer, I wore them for around an hour and was going into my doctors office for an apt and they fell completely off the sole. I had 2 stitches on the right front left and one stitch on the left side in the back. It was only one shoe, but I immediately hadt to go get some shoes upon leaving the spot. Needless to say I am very disappointed with this. I can't find a phone nip umber to call. Your company definitely needs to be aware of this.

I just contacted Clarks regarding a pair of their shoes that are "like new" I purchased from a local consignment shop last year. Without warning the inside stitching of the upper to the sole, just broke apart.

I contacted their customer service and rather than giving me satisfaction in offering a new pair, she gave me the offer of 25% off a new pair from their site.

Davida then went on to tell me this is a common occurrence that happens over time as the rubber breaks down and the shoes aren't worn. If it is so common, why in the #$#@ do they make expensive shoes with this garbage?

They seem to feel that Clark shoes are for wearing briefly prior to chucking them in the trash. (I wonder what the acceptable time frame is in their opinion )
I don't know about you, but I don't like to throw $75 in the trash a few days after buying a new pair of shoes. Shoes from China are a much better choice from what I've gathered in my dealing with this company.

I have a pair of brown shoes which are maybe 2 years old. I had a pair of navy ones that I wore for many years and finally got rid of because they were looking old. I also have a pair of black ones that are still great. BUT the brown ones - the stitching went on the side. Very disappointing since they are not that old.

I also have the most comfortable pair of low heel clogs with NO wear on the soles. Since I have so many pairs of shoes, I don't wear them often. When I put them on after a year, to my SHOCK the right shoe had come unstitched on the outside edge of the sole and upper. I have lesser quality shoes that I've had for years and NEVER experienced this situation with ANY PAIR OF SHOES. Very disappointed in this poor construction. SHAME ON YOU CLARK'S.

Wow! So many others who have experienced Clark's shoes falling apart! So, I'm strolling into a Walmart on a cool evening in AZ and my shoes begin to feel odd and I quickly sense that my clogs are now only attached at the toes forcing me to do a shuffle and slide sort of "dance" as I look for a cart. Alas, should I return to the car and drive home in my socks, or keep on a-going? Chose the latter just inside the door of the store where a nice lady directed me to the shoe department! Twenty minutes later I find replacement shoes that will work. By now, sporting my new Walmart shoes, I am appreciating the humor and embarrassment of the situation and going about my shopping. So here's what's frustrating: just as others have said that when you purchase a pair of Clark's shoes they look and seem to be well made and are not exactly cheap, i.e. Walmart shoes. AND, nowhere, I repeat nowhere, do the shoes or the box make any mention of an "expiration" date! For comparison, and FYI, I own shoes older than these, and they are still just fine, albeit a little worn. Brands are Bass, Joseph Seibel and Naot . . . Bottom line here, my advice would be to buy Clark's shoes with the cautionary note not to get too attached to them 🤓

I just sit down to write Clarks about the upper part of my shoe coming loose at the stitched area, to the sole, and found all these like comments.
These are shoes that have been little worn. I took them on a trip overseas, as they are so comfortable to walk in. I was left with shoes unable to be worn. I own 10 to 12 pairs of Clarks in various styles, and have had this happen 3 times over the last few years. Now I know it's not just a fluke.
There is a real problem. Mine were made in Brazil, and the "rubber" stuff the upper is stitched to just dissolves. I want a refund also. They are not cheap, and are expected to last a long long time. Because of the type of sole material used, they cannot be restitched. I am going further to contact the company. They need to change they way they are constructed.

I have owned Clark shoes for a few years. However, I have a pair with minimal wear. Last time I wore them they literally fell apart, almost causing me to fall. They cannot be repaired, will think twice before I purchase another pair.

I have had at least eight pairs of Clarks slides and EVERY on of them came loose when the rubber sole broke and the stitching came loose. The uppers of every shoe were in perfect condition when I had to throw them away. It's the soles that are the problem. I will never purchase another pair of Clarks shoes because they are ALL defective. Thanks Clarks for selling me shoes that are completely worthless after a short time of wearing them.
