5 pairs of shoes, rubber soles disintegrated
I checked online about the problem my Clark's shoes all had and found hundreds of customers had the same problem. The top of the shoes were fine and very comfortable, however, over time the rubber soles of every pair disintegrated. I called Clark's USA. They needed the shoe number inside the shoe in order to track it. Not only did it have the number but also the year and country they were made in. I had thrown out the 3 sandals as the tops were old. I saved 2 leather mules where the leather was perfectly good. One pair was made in 2004. Because they were old, even though in good shape, all they could do for me was to send me a $30 coupon towards another pair of Clark's. I haven't checked the price of repair but have a feeling it wouldn't be cheap. The Clark's rep. tried to make excuses for the soles claiming I must not have worn them consistently, etc. One pair I wore all the time! I disputed her claim and said that I had read literally hundreds of postings of people with the same problem! One explanation I read was that they apparently substituted a cheaper grade of rubber awhile ago. Since my shoes went back as far as 2004 and earlier apparently nothing has changed. Tonight, I searched for Clarks shoes(mules) and many had "synthetic" soles.
Soles just came off while walking.
Kept my black dress shoes in my bedroom closet during the spring and summer months, and took them out to wear to the mall in the early fall, and literally the more I walked, the more the soles just left a trail of black dust until I realized that they were defective. Got my second pair out and
the same thing happened. I still have these two pair of shoes, and I was going to call the company, because other people must be having the same problem. Love my clark shoes, but am in a little bit of shock as to why this would happen. I buy most of my clark shoes at bon-ton in greensburg, pa and uniontown, pa.
Please contact me as to what I should do about this. I am not sure I should buy any new ones for next fall and winter. A refund will do for new shoes, but would like to know if they resolved the problem. A lot of years and never this or any other problem with their shoes.
Thanks,
Donna Rushton
Shoes
Bought a pair of wingtips
Wore them a few times
Moved and found them 4 years later
Like new uppers but sole was sticky
Walked a few hundred feet and soles broke apart. Big chunks breaking off.
Clarks Customer service offered a 20% discount on new pair ordered from their Website. They said my shoes product number was over 20 years old.
Outlet mall store are not much a bargain if the 5 year old shoe is actually 20 years old.
Never ever buying Clarks again.
Every manufacturer make mistakes but a good manufacturer will compatant one will not insult a customer by not offering a replacement for a clearly bad product.
Shame on you Clarks for not standing by your customers.
Shame on me if I every trust you again.
Fell apart the second time I wore them.
Clarks are only good for dressing a corpse for a funeral
Clark shoes
I had bought of pair of Clark shoes, and I thought the name in itself, would prove to be a decent pair of shoes, well less than a month, the soles started to deteriorate, the top part of the shoe is in good shape, but the soles started to crack and fall apart leaving my shoes completely useless. I contacted Clark and because I bought these shoes from ebay, they said they were not liable but contact ebay or seller, I commented that ebay nor the seller made the shoes and they should stand behind their name. The shoes were in good shape when i bought them and so I could not return them to ebay buyer and it was a month of wearing them that they fell apart.
Product 32085
Hi,
I would like to inform you that I bought a slip on high healed slipper, the part number is 32085 at Elapra Shoes located at 1 Queen Street, Toronto,
It was on sale during Boxing week- Dec 29, 2016 and I got it for a reduced price of $65.00 plus HST, I only wore it on Dec 29 and half day on Dec 30 inside the office, did not wear it outside as my plan was to have this inside the office only.
I wore it again this morning and the platform heal was broken, for both left and right, it is no longer wearable as it is no longer stable and materials of the heals keep on disintegrating. My thinking is that this has been in the store for a while as I was told this was the last pair. I would like to ask your approval for refund from the store and that you will accept the returned shoes as I have only have it for one week, the issue is the receipt was stamped Final Sale and the store will not refund.
I am sending you this information before I go to the store, I can go and post the shoes in Social Media for the poor quality of the merchandise, but I would not want to do that if I will get a refund. This is very frustrating, I owned several pairs of Clarks shoes and this is the first time I have encountered this problem
Please let me know if you need more information
Latest update status, the store Elapra store refuse to grant my request of refund

This is the second pair of Clarks that I have had that the rubber sole just started falling apart. In the past, I have always liked the Clarks shoes because they were very comfortable to wear. But the rubber that you are now using for the soles does not hold up. It is ridiculous to pay so much for shoes and not be able to wear them longer than a couple of months.
Shoes of all types
I have bought Clarks shoes for over 50 years but will not do so again.
I have now had 5 pairs where the sole has simply disintegrated. The first had been worn a few times. The later 4 had all been bought in Clarks Shoe Shops or concessionnaires sales ans stored for a couple of years to be used in the future.
The first disintegrated as I was driving on the way to a family funeral 200 miles away; had it not been for a "Good Samaritan" in a motorway service station with black gaffa/duct tape I would have attended in the funeral in the rain in my socks!
The next pair had not been worn and disintegrated on my way to a Christmas dinner in Cardiff on Christmas Day 2014. I left a trail of sole pieces on the pavement, pub floor and car; fortunately I had an old pair of trainers in the car.
Being now more wary I tried the next 3 pairs of ATL shoes/trainers in the house for the first times of wearing. Within 15 minutes the soles had all disintegrated.
At around £45/£50 a pair these shoes are not cheap. It is clearly either an intended obsolescence design feature to ensure you buy more shoes every 2 years or totally incompetent quality control; I suspect the former. Had I still had the credit card receipts readily available I would have claimed refunds and/or reported to Trading standards for being "not of merchantable quality".
Suffice to say Clarks have made all the profit they are going to make from me. I will NEVER buy another pair of Clarks shoes.
Shoe soles fell apart.
I haven't wore my clarks in a while. Put them on yesterday and I noticed the soles were cracked and literally falling apart. Clark products are supposed to last forever! I was so upset. The shoes were so comfortable. Isn't there some type of warranty on these? I will be happy to send them back if I. Puns get s replacement pair or credit. Very unhappy customer
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Clark everlay luna black/leather shoes
I purchased the above mention shoes on 10/21/2016 in Elder Berman in Charleston, WV. I have wore these shoes regular and the leather is coming off the toes and sides of the shoes.
I always purchase Clarks and have never had them to do this. I went back to the store on Saturday to try and get another pair and they said I would have to take it up with your company, very rude.
I pay a lot for my Clarks because they are good shoes and I can wear them a long time. The # on shoe box (which I still have) is 20213 size 8 m.
please let me know if I can return to you for another pair, I am 70 years old and only like Clarks.

Leather shoe #32740
The entire shoe is coming apart. The Leather upper part is like new but has come loose from the sole. There is really no way to describe the condition they are now in. I would like to mail these shoes back to the Clark Company so they can see what bad condition they are in. If you can furnish an address or phone number I will be more than glad to ship them to someone. The company needs to know that in shoes we need more than an upper part the entire shoe needs to stay in tact. I would like a refund or a replacement if they have a pair that will stay together.
Navy slip ons
I put my shoes on quickly this morning and rushed to work, when I arrived at work I noticed they didn't quite feel right, when I went to check them the sides of the heels were cracked and as the day went on they literally just deteriorated and fell apart to where you could see metal inside the shoe, these shoes were kept clean and stored in a dry closet, they were unsafe to wear at work and I'm a Clark customer and now worried about my many other Clark shoes that I own, very disappointed
Shoes
This summer while traveling, I bought a pair of Clarks sandals. Cash sale and did not save receipt or shoe box since I was traveling. After only a few wearings the rubber sole separated from the leather top along the stitching! To no avail I tried hot glue to fix with no improvement. Looks like the rubber disintegrated along the stitching line--nothing left to glue to!
Shoe is Clark's sandal, open toe #72213 size 8m and obviously is defective workmanship/materials and cannot be repaired. I do not have a photo now but have the shoe and will send it to you if you need it in order to somehow compensate.
Disintegrating soles!
It seems I am not alone in the world with my disintergrating Clarks soles. I have seen many complaints about this problem. The shoes were worn once before the entire sole on the right shoe began to fall off in pieces and the left began to crack. The shoes are not wearable. There was a big pile of rubber bits under the sole. I have not bought Clarks since then and probably never will again. They must know about this problem with their sole quality. Disgraceful workmanship! I notified the company and but never received any response. It is apparent in the picture of the sole bottoms how little these shoes were worn. In all aspects, but the soles, the shoes look brand new. If the sole had fallen off completely while wearing I could have easily had a bad fall.
Complaint regarding shoes bought in jan 2016
Hello customer care,
This complaint is regarding the shoes that i bought in the month of january 2016 in pune from clarks store (Shop no. 573/3, near kalmadi petrol pump, jungli maharaj road, pune - 05).
After using it for hardly 4-5 months the shoes started turning yellow and the colour of the shoes have also faded. This is so very disappointing and really not expected from the brand clarks. I am thinking of putting the image of the shoe with my comments on social websites so that customers can have some information on what sort of shoes are being sold from this brand or what can they expect from the brand after buying the shoes of so much cost.
I remember buying these shoes for rs.3, 500/- or so but looking at the condition they are in currently, i really feel that was a bad choice / decision that i made of buying shoes from the so called brand clarks.
I will never buy or recommend brand clarks to anyone moving ahead and also will make sure to publish the image on social media websites.
Below is what i found written on the shoe inside just for your reference. Will be waiting for your appropriate feedback ([protected]@yahoo.com), till then will hold on posting the image and comments on social website and writing to the consumer court as well.

Womans shoes & sandals
I have had 4 pairs of Clarks fall apart in the last year. They are the slip on kinds and the problems have ranged from lacing coming apart to heels caving in! If the heels aren't caving in, the rubber is falling apart, if it is not falling apart, they wear down to the sole base with less than 6 wearings! I work in a school so it is not like I am walking on pavement for miles each day. It doesn't matter if they are made in Brazil, China or anywhere else - they all fall apart...when I talked to the store where purchased (Boscov's) they told me to contact company directly & company won't take back because they were worn! Very disappointed with them as even buying shoes on sale, they are still expensive.
Soles separating from shoe and shoe interior problems
I bought some Clarke's last year (they're kind of like the Senner Lane model but not quite) and love 'em! Except for the soles, which are separating from the rest of the shoe. I mentioned this to a sales person in a shoe store that sold Clarke's last year and she said they're now sewing the soles instead of glueing them--which is my problem. That's too bad, as the shoes are still in great shape except for that. Next, I bought a pair of waterproof shoes like the Archeo, and the frame inside the back of the shoe has come through the leather and stabs me in the ankle. Bummer, too. As I said, I like Clarke's for their style and for how light they are, but guess I'll be moving on after these two experiences.
Shoes and boots
I love the fit and feel of Clark shoes and boots. Unfortunately eventually nearly every pair of Clark's worn just a few times then when I WALKED in them the soles CRUMBLED! VERY DISAPPOINTED. Shoe Repair told us that some faulty cheap materials were used on the soles. The leather upper part of the shoe was good but fell to pieces after the soles. COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. No longer have receipts have at least one defective pair I can send you. These are expensive shoes! Why do the soles crumble. It is embarrassing to be in town at a meeting and leave a path of crumbled shoe sole everywhere I walk. What can be done about this? It is very wasteful to through away these leather shoes, but they can not be repaired.
Women's shoes
I have a pair of slip-on shoes, and one of the shoes recently feel apart completely. The sole separated from the upper. I have not even worn the shows enough that the Clark name in the sole is worn down! I want to return the shoes for replacement.
I have had the same problem with 2 pair of my slip on sandals. I am also disappointment in the quality of the soles. I do like the way the shoes fit my feet but this needs to addressed by the company asap.
Cloud Steppers Shoes
I brought two pairs of these shoes from the Shopping Channel and was listening how they like walking on a cloud. When I received them I didnt wear them right away and the 30 days return was no longer valid. The back top of the shoe blistered and is unbearable so I cant not wear them. I am hoping Clarks will replace or help me with this issue since I paid a lot for each pair. Thank you. Janet P
Clark Cloud Steppers are terrible shoes as I brought two pairs for myself and daughter and we have not been able to wear them as the back part at the top hurt so bad that it is unwearable. Customer Service in Canada is rude and no help.Stay away.
I contacted the1-[protected] number and was told to submit my proof of purchase and the issue which I did. I called today to follow up and the customer agent that answered was extremely rude and told me there is nothing wrong with the shoes as it is not a manufacture issues but my feet. I tried to explained to her and she hung up the phone on me. I own a few pairs of Clarks shoes and never realized how difficult and frustrating it is to deal with the people that are representing this company. Clarks you usually make good shoes n you need to have people who reflect your vision answering your phone. This is so frustrating.
Please call me at [protected]. Thank you
I had the exact same response from clarks Canada. I will never purchase another pair of clarks shoes. My advice is to be persistent. Eventually they will help.
Indigo Shoes
The sole on a pair of my Clark/Indigo shoes has disintegrated. This happened while wearing them & it was difficult for me to walk to my car with half of the sole of my shoe gone. I see from reading other similar complaints that this must be a manufacturing defect. It is not fair to the consumer as this brand of comfort shoes is expensive & should last longer & perform better.
