BEWARE!
When you bring your car in for a recall do not sign anything before verifying that the issue is fixed. I signed in good faith before checking and they did not fix the recall. When I called about it they will then want a fee to check the problem, and don't count on the manager calling you back for any resolve. Nissan Clear Lake will have reported to Nissan USA that it was fixed, and Nissan USA will not stand behind the customer.
Trust but verify before signing or you will be stuck with a bill while they get paid from Nissan USA and you.
Desired outcome: NONE
Sales and service
I bought a vehicle there three days ago and have nothing but issues with the vehicle. I brought it to sales manager to try and have the vehicle repaired. They told me that the vehicle was fine when it left and that I must’ve done something to the vehicle, they refuse to repair it. I now have to get an attorney and also District attorney involved three days after purchasing a vehicle
Desired outcome: None yet
Bait and Switch tactics
Nissan Clear Lake advertises and post the price but when I got there, the price increased by $3000. I even talked to the salesman on the phone to be sure the price is correct before I drive 40 miles. Specially during pandemic, I did not want to go to the deanship needlessly. This car was for my son who is in College. Bait and Switch is their tactic and you have to be careful with their advertisement. I have heard that car salesman are fraud and you have to be careful but these people are master of it.
Desired outcome: I want to make people aware of this dealership

Used car
If you want a car with issues and terrible service, then contact the sales director Robert Rendino.
I bought an Audi, in which Robert personally assisted in the sale. When I arrived for the test drive, Robert guarantees me professionalism and customer service. He mentions to me and his salesperson to check the backup camera because it wasn't engaging earlier for him. We test drive it and it seems to work fine. I buy the car that day and assured that if there's a problem they will take care of it.
On June 26, 2020, the rear backup camera doesn't engage when the car is put into reverse like normal. I bring it to Audi on June 27, 2020, since it's an electrical issue. I'm told that it's a wiring issue and they fix the vehicle. With the pandemic, I don't have time to argue the point and pay for the service myself which came to $436.22. While the service is being performed, Audi brings to my attention that a GPS tracking system was on the car and just unplugged. So, there's a wire harness that's just dangling under the dashboard. Now, I'm starting to the condition that Clear Lake sell their cars in. I contact the dealership at 3:18 pm om June 27, 2020, and left a message for the general manager, Rob since the receptionist said he wasn't able to come to the phone. I then reach out to Patrick the salesman at 6:19 pm on June 27, 2020. To let him know of the issue and besides expressing his disbelief. He tells me that Rob has to address it and I told him that he didn't return my phone call. So, this is story expresses the level of competence by the culture of Clear Lake Nissan and the quality of the cars they sell.
2009 Chevrolet Silverado
I purchased a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with 64, 000 miles sticker price was $24, 000.00 which was a bit high for the vehicle. Hector my salesperson assured me that the truck had a in his words "crystal clean history" that is why they could not negotiate price. My two years of owning the truck where complete HELL. Within 98 days after purchasing the vehicle the engine broke a valve. Six months later a lifter, six months after that camshaft and lifter. The only response I received from Ocie is sometimes things like this happen. So I guess zero inspection goes into the vehicles they are selling. To add insult to injury I have Texas Direct Auto review the truck in order to sell it only to find out in 2010 truck was wrecked VERY bad.
So I guess these guys will tell a customer ANYTHING to make a sale. I own a business and as a business owner I understand the only reason I can provide for my family is because of my customers so as a rule I am 100% HONEST with customers because I know that they can go anywhere and spend their hard earned money. SO DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THESE CROOCKS and defiantly research any purchase. So now I'm upside down $11k on this deceptively sold Silverado.
There is no inspection that could detect these issues - "98 days after purchasing the vehicle the engine broke a valve. Six months later a lifter, six months after that camshaft and lifter. " Not even an engine teardown... GM is known to have had problems with cams and lifters since the 80's.
Bait and Switch
This dealership employs "Bait and Switch" in advertising and sales. It puts ads for a couple of vehicles at online sites like Autotrader.com with prices below Blue Book. Or sometimes salespeople promise very low prices on the phone. These promises are just baits to get the customer into the store. When you get there, they come up with excuses for not honoring the price. Stay Clear of Clearlake Nissan.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Just purchased a car there 2 and a half weeks ago. Did not go in for an advertised model so I can't say if they still practice that "bait and switch" but I did have a good experience and was treated very well.
Clear lake nissan must have changed things up. I bought a car there recently and it was the best expierience I have had in the 28 yrs I have been buting automobiles. I actualy had a great finance mgr. If you ever buy from them ask for Mr. Mike Murfin in the finance dept and you will be treated with integrity.
i had the best experience at clear nissan!
This is very true! I happened again! Sep 2009!
Pro-Pack Advantage Plus
I purchased two vehicles from Clear Lake Nissan Dealership and they forced me to purchase the Advantage Plus (Pro-pack) it suppose to have coupon vouchers you can use at their dealership with alot of stipulations. The booklet is worthless and non-beneficial. The whole booklet has mostly car wash / vacuum with any other services throughout the booklet. You have to pay for everything inside the booklet. The dearlership charged 487.91 for the packet. I was told it would have oil changes and everything inside to benefit for your car value. They straight out LIED! I will never purchase or refer anyone to them for a vehicle. They are shady and dishonest and should not be allowed to do business.
I was also told that they would send the packet to my house in the mail, so yes I never seen it. No they did not simply maneuvered through skillful salesmanship, they LIED about I MUST HAVE! Salesman/Finance people are not skillful they are DECEITFUL AND LIARS. I would never marry one because they can NEVER be trusted!
They had it already on my contract and stated that the dealership could not take it off it was mandatory. The finance guy LIED!
Im sure none would ever marry you either Wanda...Your just pissed that you signed something without reading it and apparently you are not very skillful yourself if you did. By the way...Salesman/Finance must be a little more skillful than you or you would have not signed...ha...
oh my god! you probably talked them down to invoice on the deal which means you did fairly well mouching the vehicle. Be thankful it was ony 487 you got charged.
So, you paid nearly $500 for something without looking at it?
How did they force you?
Are you telling the truth - or were you simply maneuvered through skillful salesmanship?
Here's a free clue: "dealer options" are almost universally bad bargains.
And ffs, stop buy coupon books.
unauthorized charge , shadie sales tacticts
I was charged $ 487.51 for a pro-pack package that I was not informed about. It was on the paper that we were negotiated on. they scribbled the prices all over it and when we agreed on the price I had to sign it . I thought it was a scrap piece of paper. but under all our negotiated prices was a price of $487.51 for a pro pack I did not want and probably will not ever use. Angela allen was my sales person and did not inform me about any packages. I tried to get her to refund my money and she told me she could not. I talked to two other sales men and O.C .Brooks told me flat out if I dont like it bring the car back and the will refund the money. I bought this car for my daughter and all ready gave her the car or else I would of brought it back. I was a first time customer and I will be a last time customer, if they are hurting this bad to use shadie tacticts to make money, they will never see me again. I thought the customer comes first but not in there case. I would highly recommend to stay away from them.

In the aftermath of Hurricane IKE, my car was totalled. I negotiated with Clear Lake Nissan to buy a new Nissan Frontier.. During the entire process we spoke of a quoted figure, ie $22, 341 plus Texas tax title and licence. I specifically asked several times if there were other charges, and was told NO.
We closed in a hurry due to a conference call deadline at my wifes employer. When I had a chance to review the closing statement I found a charge for " PRO-PACK" for 487.51..which I had initialed due to the rush. This charge had never been mentioned. I called the general manager, OC Brooks, explained the situation and he gave me his word that he would write a check, the moment I could prove my check for payment had cleared...My check cleared, I presented him with a copy, and have not been able to reach him, or have call returned since...Bottom Line, Clear Lake Nissan has stolen $487.51 of my money .
Do business with them at your own risk!
Gorrible managers
We bought a car there and they have yet to fix anything they said they would and have lied about us breaking the car. Its been 3 months and they still dont have our license plates. they never even cleaned the car and the door was broken and still is after they "fixed" it. they have horrible business practices and the managers and horrible too.

now why would they break your signal cover? Do you really think they go to work everyday waiting to break customers cars for a measley $150.00? oh please...get a grip dude
Sure wish I had googled this dealership prior to going there for a State Inspection.
The "service advisor" was extremely sullen and rude from the getgo.
After waiting one and one-half hours, he advised my vehicle didn't pass - now understand, I had checked my vehicle visually before leaving my residence - no problems. However, this dude said everything was fine UNTIL they noticed the broken rt. front turn signal cover (about the size of a quarter) ... wasn't there previously!
He continued rolling w/ his pitch that they would order the cover and have it next week, however, I would have to pay for it NOW - $157.00 -! AND, it would take about TWO hours to replace it (labor...more $$$$).
He was flabbergasted when I advised I would take my vehicle to another dealership ... due to the fact, it was my determination that the lamp cover was broken @ THEIR dealership. He then, very sarcastically, instructed me to "have a nice day!" What an [censored]!
Oh, and this dealership - unsatisfactory rating w/ BBB - many other complaints found on forum threads.
One other thing, called the parts dept. at another dealership - the part - $120.39!
Grrrrrrrr!
I am having similar problems.
Did you file a complaint with the Texas Department of Transportation?
Did you keep records of who you spoke to and when?
I purchased a vehicle there about 1 month ago and they promised to fix all the damage on it... which is why I did agree to purchase the vehicle. They have not given me a call and have not fixed it yet.
I have called them several times and have not gotten a call back.
