Nightmare Experience with Coleman Furniture: Delayed Delivery, Double Charges, and Poor Customer Service
The product that I received from Coleman Furniture was decent, but not without its flaws. The couch was extremely firm, which I assume will soften over time, and the pull-out sofa was a bit difficult to maneuver. However, my experience with this company was nothing short of a nightmare. I placed my order on May 27th and did not receive it until August 8th, which is a whopping 10 and a half weeks. If I had known that it would take this long, I would not have made the purchase.
To make matters worse, when I placed my order, the cost of the couch was deducted from my bank account to "make sure funds were available," and then again when I was actually charged for the couch. I was never informed as to when I would be charged for the couch, which caused me to have to have $668 readily available to just randomly come out of my account, twice.
I received weekly email "updates" that simply stated that my product was still with the manufacturer. After several weeks of the same email, and having received no real update, I emailed Coleman customer service to inquire about the actual status of my order. On July 14th, I was told that my order was set to ship on July 19th. I contacted Coleman customer service again on July 20th to ensure that my order was shipped, to which I was told that it hadn't, but was set to be shipped on July 23rd. I emailed again on July 23rd to ensure that my order was going to be shipped on that day, to which I received a reply, with my name spelled incorrectly, that my order was being "prepared" to be shipped and would "probably" ship the next day.
Finally, my order reached the local delivery company. The local delivery company did not provide options to select for delivery times, they just told me when they were coming. My order was set to be delivered on August 4th between 1-4. I received a call after 1 PM that they were not coming because they were stuck in a flood. They said I would be contacted to select another delivery time. Again, I was not contacted but instead just told a time that they would be coming. The new delivery time (August 8th) did not work for me, so when I contacted customer service to request another time, they had nothing available until August 18th. Not willing to prolong this horrific experience any further, I had to make several last-minute accommodations to ensure that I could have someone home for the August 8th delivery. I was provided a delivery time frame of 1-4. I received a call at 11 AM on August 8th that they would be there in 20-25 minutes. Of course, it gets better. This "white glove delivery company" could not maneuver the couch into the room it needed to go into. They had no plan B. It was either, sorry your product cannot be put where it needs to go and will sit unassembled in another room of your house, or, your product is going back on the truck.
Overall, I cannot stress enough how terrible this experience has been. I would never order an item from this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone I know. The product may be decent, but the purchasing and delivery experience is not worth the hassle.
Nightmare Experience with Coleman Furniture: Delayed Delivery, Damaged Furniture, and Poor Customer Service
I was so excited to purchase from Coleman Furniture, but my experience has been a complete nightmare. I placed my order on July 3, 2019, and was promised a quick ship and delivery within 1-2 weeks. I ordered the Gabrielle bedroom set, an extra bed, and a nightstand. I even asked if they serviced military installations, and they assured me that they did. However, a week later, I received an email stating that my delivery would take 6 weeks instead of the promised 1-2 weeks. I called to inquire about the delay, and they told me that the quick ship was only for small items and that the tag was in error. They did offer me $15 off my next purchase, but that didn't make up for the disappointment.
On August 28th, they charged my credit card $2,000, but I still hadn't received my furniture. I called and spoke with Connie, Chaniv, Cierra, and others from the company. Forrest from Blue Truck Delivery called to set up a delivery in early September, but two days later, I received a call saying that their truck was broken, and they had to reschedule. I assumed they only had one truck. I called Coleman again, and they promised me $100 off and that my delivery would be a priority. Two weeks later, Forrest called to deliver on a Thursday, but he had to reschedule for Friday because his employees couldn't pass the background check to get on post. Finally, on September 20, a crew was able to get on post, but it only got worse from there.
The footboard to one bed was destroyed, and the other was damaged. The knob on one nightstand was stripped. I couldn't leave a review on the Coleman site because they delete them, so I'm leaving my review here. I have photos, text messages, and emails to prove it. Ms. Cierra even called me and asked me to change my review because they would have furniture here in a week, but it's been a week, and I still haven't received anything. They fluff reviews and bury bad reviews with fake ones. The furniture is Ashley, but it has flaws that don't meet Ashley standards. My headboard has a gap on the right side that couldn't be sold. I'm not sure if Ashley would allow their tags left on. When you correspond with this company, their signature block says Renegade, not Coleman, which seems suspicious.
If you want a nightmare and wait 3 to 6 months to get something, choose this company. If you want criminals who can't pass a simple background check in your home, choose this company. If you want returns and warranty to be a nightmare, choose this company. If you want a hassle-free purchase for relatively the same price as most Ashley stores, which have the same furniture at the same exact pricing without the nightmare on all the major holidays, choose another company. When you complain about their substandard customer service, they try to threaten you with 15% restocking fees and shipping fees. Look at Coleman Furniture's Twitter. It took 5 months to get a couch and 7 months for a desk. Remember the Fair Credit Protection Act and use any company but this one. Don't allow this company to bully you. These are the same people who couldn't get on base and asked me to come get my OWN furniture.
Buyer Beware: My Nightmare Experience with Coleman Furniture
I recently bought a Hampton Entertainment Center from Coleman Furniture on 7/11/2021. I was thrilled to see that it was two hundred dollars cheaper than Overstock, so I decided to go for it. However, I regretted my decision soon after. I should have done my research and read the reviews of this company before making the purchase. I only relied on their star rating, which was a huge mistake.
The pieces were delivered to my home on 7/30/2021, and to my dismay, the left buffet was severely damaged. Renegade Furniture, who I later found out is Coleman's "sister" company, contacted me about the damaged piece. They gave me the option to refuse the damaged piece or refuse the entire unit. I was told that the damaged piece would be inspected by their furniture repair specialist, and it would either be repaired or replaced. I foolishly refused only the damaged piece. Looking back, I should have refused all four pieces.
Over the next two months, I exchanged multiple emails and made more than one phone call to Coleman Furniture and Renegade Furniture, but I couldn't get any definitive answers about the status of my replacement piece. In early September, almost two months after initially placing my order, I received an email from Renegade Furniture that my replacement piece had arrived in Atlanta, and I would be contacted to schedule delivery within the week. When that didn't happen, I called Coleman Furniture and asked to speak to someone in upper management. I was put on hold and then hung up on. I called back and got a very nice and helpful representative who transferred me to a supervisor. She confirmed that I was emailed that my replacement piece was in Atlanta in error. She told me I would have to pay approximately $750 in fees and return shipping costs if I cancelled my entire order. I asked to speak to her supervisor, but she only provided a generic email address to where I could send an email. She wouldn't provide a name.
I sent an email to the address she provided, detailing my experience and frustrations. The next day, I received a call from the Director of Customer Service for Coleman Furniture. She was much nicer and seemed to genuinely care that my experience was poor. She said she would personally contact the manufacturer and keep track of my order. It could take 2-5 more weeks to receive the replacement piece.
In early October, I received a call from the delivery company that my "right buffet" had arrived and been inspected. I asked her to clarify, and she said "right buffet." I told her I needed a LEFT buffet and would have to call the furniture company. I immediately called the Director of Customer Service and left her a message. A few minutes later, I received an email from a Renegade Furniture representative saying that the item had been mislabeled, and "rest assured," the item is the left buffet. I called the delivery company back, and the same person answered. I asked her what piece she showed at the facility, and she said "left buffet." I asked her if she was sure because she had told me right buffet a few minutes ago. She said, "It now says left buffet in the system, and someone must have changed it."
To my disappointment, when the delivery truck arrived on 10/8/2021, they brought a right, NOT LEFT buffet, and it was damaged! I am at the mercy of this company, and they are holding my money hostage. I hope Coleman Furniture will do the right thing and provide a full refund as they have proven that they are not able to resolve my issue. I plan to write a follow-up to this review with the final outcome. I hope writing this review will spare someone else from the headache and potential loss of money they may very likely encounter if they purchase from Coleman Furniture.
Poor Customer Service and Warranty Coverage for Ashley Signature Sectional from Coleman Furniture
I recently bought an Ashley signature sectional from Coleman Furniture, and it was delivered on 5/21/2020 by "Need it Now Ohio" delivery service. The delivery went smoothly, and I was satisfied with the condition of the product. However, after only 14 days of use, the support beam in the back of the RAF end recliner broke completely in half while my friend was sitting in the chair in a reclined position. There was no roughhousing, mistreatment, or improper use that could have caused such damage.
I contacted Coleman Furniture, assuming that such a manufacturer defect would be covered by my warranty. They took my report, requested additional photos and information, and informed me that my request would be reviewed. After reviewing the information with the manufacturer, Ashley Furniture, Coleman Furniture informed me that I would be compensated only $125 for the repairs to be made by a repair service that I had to set up on my own.
I was not satisfied with this solution and requested to speak with a manager. The representative told me that he had requested a manager to contact me, but they were simply a go-between for myself and the manufacturer. A manager, Cierrah, did email me and leave one voicemail, but I was unable to reach her despite multiple attempts. I also purchased an extended warranty through Guardian for an additional $99, which I found does not cover anything until the manufacturer warranty expires.
I proceeded with scheduling a professional furniture repair man and waited for his assessment before contacting Ashley Furniture. Once the repairman disassembled the back of the chair, I was dismayed to find that the main support beam in the back of the chair is made of OSB wood, which is not ideal. This support board had broken completely in half and will cost $250 to repair with a solid wood board.
When I called Ashley Furniture, the representative explained to me that the retailer is solely responsible for the warranty and that they are not involved in that. As you can see, Coleman had told me the opposite. The Ashley Furniture representative also told me that Coleman Furniture is notorious for trying to dump their clients back on the manufacturer and that their policy is to simply redirect the client back to Coleman Furniture. So, in short, neither company provided quality customer service, nor did they back the products that they make or sell.
From this experience, I learned two things: (1) do not deal with Coleman Furniture as a secondary retailer, and (2) expect Ashley Furniture to be of very poor quality. Despite $2000 being a lot of money to me, it's not that much in the furniture world, and you ultimately get what you pay for.
Horrible Experience with Coleman Furniture: Broken Vanity, Missing Parts, and Terrible Customer Service
Coleman Furniture is not a company I would recommend to anyone. My experience with them has been absolutely horrible. I purchased a vanity with a stool set from them on January 15th, and at the time of my purchase, it stated that my vanity would be delivered in the first week of February. However, two weeks went by, and I did not receive any tracking information. I called them to clarify when my delivery date was, and they informed me that they had not shipped it out yet because they didn't have the vanity stool. They would have to order it from the manufacturer, and when they received the stool, they would ship out my order. But, it wouldn't be shipped out until June. I was a little annoyed with this, and I did not want to wait six months for a stool. Why didn't they call me and inform me of this right away? Instead of calling me and telling me what was going on, they just decided that they would ship my product in six months, and I would just be okay with that?
Again, I was informed that my vanity (without the stool) would be shipped out in one week, and it would take one to two weeks for it to arrive at the delivery company. This was on February 9th, and I finally got tracking and shipping information emailed to me on February 20th, stating that it had finally been shipped out. It didn't arrive at the delivery company until March 14th, and then it didn't get delivered until the following week.
After over two months of waiting, my vanity finally arrived, damaged. One of the corners on the countertop was broken, there were scratches everywhere, hooks on the back of the mirror for jewelry were missing, the screws for assembly were missing, and there were no lights, which were stated in the details of the product. When I called, they told me it didn't come with lights and that the details were regarding a different product in that bedroom set, not the one I purchased. Then, if it's for a different piece of furniture in the set, why is it in the details of the vanity? They told me there was nothing I could do about this and that it was my fault for not understanding.
At this point, I do not want this broken vanity. I tried to return it since it's broken, and I don't want to have to wait another three months for a replacement. I informed them that I want to return it, and they told me that I will have to pay a 15% restocking fee and shipping costs to return it. Are you kidding me? The vanity was $851. It should not have taken this long, nor should it have been damaged. I am not willing to pay shipping or a 15% restocking fee. I informed them of this and then told them to send me a replacement, the whole product because the only thing that isn't damaged or missing parts is the glass. They told me they are unwilling to do this and that my only option is to have a technician of their choice come and repair the vanity. I don't know how they are going to be able to repair all of the damages since the corner is literally broken off, and they are shipping out all the missing parts. Sending me the missing parts and having a technician come repair it are going to cost the same as the 15% restocking fee and the shipping costs, so I don't see why they wouldn't just do it that way. But no, they want to make it as difficult as possible. They have terrible customer service and are unwilling to compromise with me. I will not be ordering from them in the future, and I would never let any of my friends or family order from them. They were just rude and unwilling to work with me to resolve the issues.
Positive Experience with Coleman Furniture: Great Prices, Free Delivery, and Extended Warranty!
I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I wanted to share my experience with Coleman Furniture in case anyone else was feeling hesitant about ordering from them like I was. I had been shopping around for a new furniture set and had found one I liked at Ashley Furniture for $999 per piece, not including delivery or a warranty. I decided to look around some more and stumbled upon Coleman Furniture, who had the same set for $1266 with free delivery and an extended warranty for an extra $100. I was a bit nervous about ordering furniture online, especially after reading some negative reviews and complaints, but I decided to take a chance.
I talked to some friends, family, and coworkers who reminded me that people are more likely to write reviews when something goes wrong, and that Coleman Furniture had overwhelmingly positive reviews despite a few negative ones. I made sure to read all of the policies and prepared myself for any potential issues. I ordered my set on August 27th and received an email the next day letting me know that my order had been processed and was expected to be delivered in 2-3 weeks. I received another email a week later letting me know that my order had been shipped and was on its way to the local delivery company.
I received a call from Renegade Furniture Group on September 5th to schedule my delivery. The representative wasn't the friendliest, but nothing to complain about. I was expecting some delays due to Hurricane Dorian, but my delivery was scheduled for two days later. The drivers were held up a bit due to the weather, but they were friendly and efficient when they arrived. They even wore white gloves and tested out all of the controls for me. I appreciated their positive energy despite a long day.
I've been enjoying my new sofa and loveseat and am planning on ordering end tables from Coleman Furniture in a few weeks. I didn't experience any major issues aside from a slightly unfriendly scheduler and a delayed delivery due to the weather. I just wanted to share my positive experience with Coleman Furniture and encourage others not to be scared away by a few negative reviews.
Terrible Experience with Coleman Furniture: Damaged Goods and Poor Customer Service
Coleman Furniture is a company that needs to step up their game when it comes to delivering quality furniture. I recently ordered a sectional from them on May 4, 2020, but it was not delivered until June 26, 2020. To make matters worse, the loveseat was damaged and had to be reordered. I was offered $100 off or to have the loveseat replaced, and I chose to have it replaced. However, when the delivery guys arrived, they brought the loveseat even though I specifically told them not to. They took it back with them, and I never saw it unwrapped, so I don't know what was damaged on it.
Once everything else was set up, I noticed that the wedge was damaged. I was told that it would be repaired in my home, and I received emails about the progress of the materials and the repair. However, I also questioned the loveseat and was given an ETA as if it was ordered new, not being repaired. When the repairman came to fix the wedge, he mentioned that he had just fixed a loveseat that matched my set. I sent an email asking if that was my loveseat, but I never received a response.
Finally, on July 16, the loveseat arrived at my home, but it was damaged just like the wedge. I immediately sent photos and a list of damages to Coleman Furniture. The next day, my mother-in-law sat in it and it ripped where the staple was on the outside. I sent more photos and explanations to Coleman, but they just kept sending me emails saying they were following up with the delivery company.
I asked for an ETA, but they just kept saying they were following up. When I called the delivery company, they knew nothing about the service ticket for the repair. I called Coleman for over an hour and got passed around, told to stay on hold, and then hung up on. They claimed that the repair company said they tried to come out and I refused, which was a complete lie. I have called every number they have, begged to talk to a supervisor, and asked them not to put me on hold, but I keep getting passed around.
This company has no morals, values, or ethics. They delivered damaged goods and refuse to stand by it and replace it. I would not recommend anyone order anything from them. Don't waste your time!
Review of Coleman Furniture: Poor Customer Service and Quality Control
I recently purchased a sofa set from Coleman Furniture on April 14, 2019. Unfortunately, when it arrived on May 10, 2019, the love seat was incorrectly manufactured. The right front leg was about 2 inches above the ground, and I could slide my hand clearly under it. I immediately contacted Lori at Coleman Furniture to report the issue. However, she tried to convince me to accept the sofa and wait for them to repair the love seat. She kept reading me the terms and conditions and sending me emails about their policies.
I was frustrated with the customer service and the lack of attention to the issue. I rejected the entire set and placed a claim with my credit card company. I explained to Coleman and Lori that incorrect manufacturing is not considered damage as outlined in the contract that I signed. I was not going to accept a repaired product, but rather a new replacement product. After checking the Better Business Bureau (BBB) site, I found out that there have been over 350 claims against Coleman Furniture over the past 3 years, some very similar to my case. BBB even issued an advisory about the company. If I had looked sooner, I would have likely not purchased from this company.
After approximately 15 phone calls and exchanging around 15 emails, Coleman notified me that a new love seat has been ordered and will be delivered to me. The new love seat and the previous sofa arrived at my house on 5/23/19, thirteen days after the original delivery and a lot of persuasions on my part.
Although I like the furniture and it is functioning well, two things were really disappointing. Firstly, the customer service was less than adequate. I had to keep initiating the phone calls to resolve the issue and obtain status, and the client rep kept throwing irrelevant terms and conditions at me. Secondly, the original love seat should have been rejected at the manufacturer or at the warehouse where the shipping boxes were removed and the product was placed in the truck for local delivery. Coleman should not have put me in a position to reject this product. I would have respected the company a whole lot more if they had called to say they were rejecting the manufacturer's product because it did not meet their standards and I had to wait three more weeks.
Overall, I would advise customers to be aware of the BBB advisory before purchasing from Coleman Furniture. The customer service could be improved, and the company should pay more attention to the quality of their products before shipping them out.
Coleman Furniture Review: Horror Story of Unresolved Order 106+ Days Later
This is my horror story - true, absurd, and still unresolved 106+ days after the order, as of January 9th.
It all started when I ordered a bedroom set and a bookcase on September 25th. Then I decided to order a living room set, but I found the same set cheaper at Orlando Furniture. Now although Coleman's says they have a price guarantee, they refused to honor the price match saying it would cut too close to their profit margin so they were going to pass on the sale to me. I already had credit approved for Coleman, so despite the bitter taste of feeling cheated, I went ahead with the order which was only about $100 more than Orlando Furniture. Plus, the sales person claimed "white glove treatment." Mind you also, my purchase was over $1,000. So if their profit margin is that thin, the company should be worried.
It is now November 16th, and I still do not have all my furniture - missing a dresser and I have a bed with no hardware, and the company could seem to care less. Call and ask to speak to a manager like "Cierra" and you'll get the apathetic cold shoulder with vague promises the company will look into it.
So why have I not received all my furniture?
1. Shipping company may get an incorrect phone number for you, or thus was the claim. Yet the shipping company clearly called me with someone else's delivery named "Melissa."
2. Shipping company may get the wrong email address for you. Why? I don't know. I got the bill, how could they muck this up?
3. My wife went into labor, I had to reschedule one time. This one was on me.
4. One delivery was incomplete. Got a bedroom set that was missing a dresser that no one can seem to find and a bed missing hardware. So it is back to sleeping on the futon while they try to find the parts to my bed. In fact, they sent me an email asking for a picture of the problem... demonstrating a complete lack of empathy. I took a picture of the empty space where my dresser would be standing and a picture of my unassembled bed.
Unfortunately, no updates from Coleman on when I will get my remaining items. The "white glove" treatment is more like someone in some latex gloves slapping you with a wet fish over and over again. Because yeah, all of the above may not even be the craziest part of this never-ending debacle.
On November 13th when the delivery company was delivering my living room set, they called me at about 7:20 pm and asked if they could make the delivery at 9:30 pm. It was a bit late, but I said sure. It wasn't until, and I kid you not, 11:51 pm after I had fallen asleep they called and said they were running late and they wanted to make the delivery around 1 am. I told them no. They said okay and the delivery would be at 8 am tomorrow. Call after call from me to them with no answer the next day for the 8 am delivery. Finally around 11 am I went to work, then they called, apologized saying they overslept and was at my house...
Oh, and good luck returning something you don't like. That bookcase I bought crumbled before the first book even hit it. They wouldn't take it back. Bought a piece of Sauder half the price from Amazon, still standing today full of books.
Never, ever, buy from this company. I wish I was making this story up. Crazy. Unbelievable. You'd think after so many issues the company would offer some sort of rebate, money back, something. All I get is nothing and no updates on the still remaining missing pieces! The furniture is great besides the bookcase, the service is the worst I ever had in my entire life!
Edit: As of December 4th, still no update on the dresser. Had another false delivery for which the company again apologized (the shipping company came to my house, when I called and asked why they said it was a mistake and they didn't have anything to deliver...). Coleman said they would give me a $50 refund on my order which is about 3% of the total order... while I still wait for the pieces of my bed to arrive, I had to go get a temporary box spring to put the mattress on. The nightmare order continues without end.
Edit: It is now January 9th, I recently received the missing dresser, but it was badly damaged. The company did offer some financial compensation for this. However, the delivery company came to set up the bed, and they did not have the instructions! So they left, wasting more of my time. A second attempt was made to set up the bed. This time they had the instructions, but the company discovered there are more missing pieces. So 3+ months, still no bed to sleep in. The nightmare just won't end with this company. I cannot stress enough how bad of an experience this is and overall.
Coleman Furniture Complaints 48
False advertising
Ordered two office desks. First, the photo of the desk is misleading as it shows an ornate front when it is actually unfinished and meant to face a wall. Coleman stated free shipping and ASSEMBLY in my room. The desks came fully assembled and too large to fit through a standard doorway. I had to refuse delivery as they cannot get them into my room. They state it's my fault as I am responsible for making sure these fit in my room. They would if Coleman assembled in my room as stated rather than delivering a fully constructed product. I am being charged a 15% restock fee and a $250 delivery charge (so much for free delivery), over $800 lost on a $3300 order. I offered to cover the delivery fee as a compromise but they are unwavering.
Desired outcome: Every other time I have had to refuse delivery, very seldom, items are taken back at no cost, no questions asked. I would like them to at least refund the 15% restocking fee and to clarify their deceptive advertising
Worst Service and Delivery
if you want to burn money and get angry, buy from this store. TERRIBLE service and care. They lie when buying and postpone your order several times.
I bought a sofa on the website on June 29th, the deadline was 7 weeks, but 7 weeks have passed and I still haven't received it. every time I get a postponement email with no concrete explanation. the deadline on their website remains the same. as? can not understand.
Desired outcome: Delivery my order
Disappointing Experience with Coleman Furniture: Delayed Delivery and Poor Customer Service
I recently ordered a Lambert Silver gray leather double reclining couch and sofa from Coleman Furniture. It took a whopping 9 months for me to finally receive delivery. When the set finally arrived, I was disappointed to find that the loveseat couch was askew and the ears didn't fit on three sides. I immediately informed the delivery man of the issue and had to submit several photos before they could send their team out to fix things. After about 2 weeks, I discovered that the footrests were not staying up and my granddaughter almost fell off. I contacted Coleman and had to submit videos of the problem and the serial number on the item. I wasn't sure about the serial number, so I had to turn the item over and take photos of all the tags.
When I heard back from the company, they told me that they would only pay $125 and I had to find a company in my area within 30 days. They wouldn't send out the same team they had sent when I had all the problems the day I received the set. I had the same problem on a set I bought 15 years ago where the loveseat went askew out of use, but it wasn't brand new like this one and I couldn't find a company for that in my area or anywhere. I informed Coleman of this and they recommended a company, which I wrote an online request to see if they could help me out. Now, I received an email from them requiring more photos/videos of the entire set and the repairs and said if they did not receive the photos in 3 days my case would be closed. I thought Coleman was recommending a company, not somebody I didn't purchase anything from, and they gave me a deadline of 3 days. Are they in cahoots with Coleman? How does Coleman know how much something will cost in advance? They just came up with a figure they are willing to pay no matter what it costs. Why wouldn't they send out their technical team, as they called them, like they did before? Why is this supposed independent company who just fixes things giving me deadlines?
I am deeply disappointed in Coleman and/or Renegade. Coleman keeps blaming Renegade, the manufacturer. I will NEVER buy anything from this site again. They sell the items, make you wait forever, and then to get an item fixed, you really are on your own if you do not find everything wrong the minute you receive it. By the way, I purchased a 3-year warranty, and I see that was a waste of money because they decide if they even consider fixing anything and how much they will pay and put you through the ringer getting satisfaction. I am disabled and turning 65, so all these videos/photos they want from underneath the items are incredibly difficult for me.

Terrible Experience with Coleman Furniture: Damaged Product, Restocking Fee, and Poor Customer Service
So, I ordered some furniture from Coleman Furniture and let me tell you, it was not a good experience. First off, they sent me a cute email with a truck driving to a warehouse saying my order has shipped to a local delivery company and will be inspected. They always mention that it will be inspected, which makes me wonder if they have a lot of issues with their products. Anyway, I was billed promptly and then told that I would be contacted by a local delivery company within a few weeks.
But then, a company with a phone number all the way across the country (CA) called to schedule a delivery. That was my first red flag. And then, on delivery day, they called to tell me that my furniture failed inspection. Can you believe that? I was so disappointed. They told me that it needed a part and that my sofa ships in parts. I was appalled to think that I had bought a high-end sofa that shipped in parts. So, I called the manufacturer who assured me that neither of the pieces I ordered ship in parts.
Now, Coleman is telling me that it may have been damaged during shipment or have a defect and they need to order a part to repair it. But I don't want damaged or repaired furniture, so I told them to cancel my order. But get this, they told me that I must pay a 15% restocking fee and shipping of $189 for a total of almost $700.00. Can you believe that? They won't even explain why the shipping company or manufacturer won't pay if it's damaged or defective.
I did some research and found out that I'm not the only one who has had issues with Coleman Furniture. There are hundreds of complaints on BBB.org. I filed a complaint too and I'm even considering a lawsuit. I had to buy a sofa from a local furniture store just so I could have a place to sit while I'm waiting for Coleman to sort out their mess.
The reps at Coleman Furniture are something else. They won't back down and they're trained like nothing I've ever experienced. I don't think I've ever given a 1-star review before, but I'm reviewing them on every site I can find. This company has caused me so much stress and anxiety and their business practices should not be allowed. They need to be exposed for these practices.
They keep insisting that my furniture is here local, but won't explain the issue, show shipping receipt or order, or tell me what the issue is with my furniture. Only that they are working on ordering the part and that I am a top priority. They know that as long as they continue to respond, it is difficult for me to take action against them.
If you're thinking about ordering from Coleman Furniture, I would strongly advise against it. Save yourself the stress and anxiety that I've had to deal with.
Disappointing Experience with Coleman Furniture: Delayed Delivery, Poor Communication, and Unresponsive Customer Service
I recently purchased a sectional from Coleman Furniture as a surprise gift for someone special. I chose Coleman because of their affordable prices, policies, and positive reviews. However, my experience with them was far from positive.
When I placed the order on September 3rd, the estimated delivery date was September 18th-29th, which was perfect timing for the recipient's birthday. I made sure to specify on the purchase order that the recipient was not to be contacted to schedule the delivery, as I wanted it to be a surprise. However, when the order was processed a few days later, the estimated delivery date was pushed back to mid-October. I waited patiently, but mid-October came and went with no word from Coleman.
Finally, on October 25th, I received a message from Coleman stating that the item had been received by the local delivery/assembly company and that they would contact me within a few days to arrange delivery. Two weeks later, I began sending emails and making phone calls to Coleman to inquire about the status of my order. Unfortunately, my first few attempts were ignored.
After approximately five days, I finally received a response from Coleman stating that the corner unit of the sectional had not been received when the October 25th notice had been sent to me. However, they assured me that all the pieces were now at the local delivery contractor and that I would be contacted within a few days. I was frustrated by the lack of communication and the fact that the arrival of my order was now two months beyond the original estimated date.
When I contacted customer service to discuss my concerns, the agents I spoke with were unresponsive and unsympathetic. To make matters worse, the local delivery company contacted the recipient regarding delivery, ruining the surprise. I was angry and demanded compensation from Coleman. I also inquired about my rights to cancel the order.
The representative I spoke with responded to my email 36 hours later, offering me a measly 4% refund, which I found insulting. As it would have cost me 15% to cancel the order, I decided to proceed with it. After much wrangling with the local delivery contractor, the sectional pieces were finally delivered and assembled on November 24th. Unfortunately, one of the six pieces appears to be a different dye lot than the others, which is noticeable but not particularly objectionable. I notified Coleman via email of this issue, but as of this writing, they have yet to respond.
While the furniture appears to be well-made, my experience with Coleman Furniture was disappointing. Based on my experiences, I would recommend buying from someone other than Coleman.
Stay Away from Coleman Furniture: Terrible Customer Service and Unfair Refund Policy
This company is not good, I tell you what. I wish I had read all the bad reviews before I got mixed up with them. Let me tell you, if you're thinking about buying from Coleman Furniture, you better think again. I'm telling you, read the reviews and stay away!
I bought a bedroom set from them, and we both agreed it would take about two months to build. I wasn't ready to take delivery because my house was getting renovated. Long story short, they took my delivery and gave me a refund, but they took $550 out of it. I begged them to deliver it, but they wouldn't do it.
I had a long conversation with one of their representatives, and let me tell you, it was exhausting. I explained to them that my contractor had been letting me down, and I needed more time. I begged them not to cancel my furniture, but they refused. I even asked them to deliver it the next day, and they still wouldn't do it.
I told them I didn't want a refund, I just wanted my furniture. But they wouldn't budge. They cancelled my order and sent me a refund, but I didn't ask for that. I didn't want to be responsible for any restocking fees, either. They used my money since June, and they made money off of it. I just wanted what I paid for.
I was nice to them, but they still cancelled my order. I even asked to speak to their superior, but they wouldn't let me. I still want my furniture, but if they can't ship it, they shouldn't take any money from me. They forced the cancellation, not me. They have my money and my furniture, and I don't think that's right.
So, let me tell you, if you're thinking about buying from Coleman Furniture, don't do it. They're not worth it.
Poor Customer Service and Quality Control at Coleman Furniture
I had the same experience as Kristin S. when I ordered from Coleman Furniture. I placed my order online and then called them within 2 business days to cancel, but their office was closed due to a snow storm according to their phone message. When I finally got through to them, I was informed that there would be a 25% restocking fee even though the furniture was coming from a delivery company out of North Carolina who delivers to NY every 2-3 weeks. It took 5 weeks for my table to arrive, and when it did, I found a large crack in the base after it had been in my home for exactly 34 days.
I contacted Coleman Furniture and they asked me to complete a warranty sheet and send pictures, which I did that day. After 2 weeks, I received an email response which was partially completed. I called to inquire, but was told I would receive a call back. Later that day, I received another email stating the information was wrong and I would hear back. The following day, I received an email stating that the manufacturer believes this can be repaired and is giving me $100 to do that. It is up to me to find a technician to come to my home to fix this piece. Then they will reimburse me once I provide a receipt.
I have concerns about that too after this experience. What technician is going to drive out to fix a foreign piece of furniture for $100? The piece that cracked is the base leg and it is my feeling that this is a structural item. Since Coleman Furniture makes a big deal about their costs including assembly and had I ordered online from another company it was up to me to assemble, I thought they would try to work with the manufacturer to get this one part replaced.
I called customer service again today at Coleman Furniture by now a little irate because I have yet to speak to an actual person in customer service. It is now 6:45 pm and I am stewing because the person I was "routed to because Customer service was busy" said she would pass my message to Edwina. I would like a replacement part for this leg but the manufacturer feels it can be repaired and will not supply a replacement part. Since Coleman Furniture sold me this piece (and yes I know they do not make it but rather Coaster Home Furniture does) I feel they should make good on this request.
As I said, I have had this table for 34 days. Clearly, neither Coleman Furniture nor Coaster Furniture care and make no effort to make things right or care that someone will never do business with them again. I am passing my experience along. From the other reviews, it seems that as long as there is not an issue aside from a long wait, all is okay. Heaven forbid something goes wrong.
Disappointing Experience with Coleman Furniture: Damaged Couch and Poor Customer Service
I just got a new couch from Coleman Furniture (colemanfurniture.com) and I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed. The movers were nice enough, but they took forever to put together this simple couch. I had to stay up all day to wait for them, and then I had to work 12-hour shifts every night until I finally had time to check out my new purchase. That's when I noticed a huge rip in one corner and a bunch of little stains all over the couch. Plus, the seat backs were wiggling and bending, even though this isn't a recliner. And it's not like I have kids or anything - the only other person who's sat on it is my husband, and that was just once.
I get that stuff happens, especially with cheap, mass-produced furniture like this. But what really bothers me is that the movers didn't even document the damage. I mean, how could they miss something so obvious? It makes me wonder if they caused the damage themselves. And when I tried to return the couch, the manager (Lori? Gloria? She couldn't even give me a straight answer) was so rude and unhelpful. She wouldn't even give me her full name! She told me I couldn't return the couch, and my only options were to keep the defective one or pay for a warranty to get a new one. When I asked to speak to someone higher up, she refused and said there was no one else to talk to. I felt so disrespected and taken advantage of.
Honestly, I don't think I'll ever shop with Coleman Furniture again. Their staff clearly doesn't care about their customers or their products. And to top it off, I spent over $1000 on this broken couch, including delivery fees and taxes. I wish I had gone with a more reputable dealer, like Overstock. They have the same couch for just a little bit more, and I bet their customer service is way better.
Terrible Experience with Coleman Furniture: A Warning to Potential Customers
I recently had a terrible experience with Coleman Furniture and I strongly advise against doing business with them. My story is a long and frustrating one, but I feel it is important to share so that others do not have to go through the same ordeal.
To start, I placed an order for a black sectional couch with two recliners and a warranty through the Coleman Furniture website. The total cost was $1794.00. However, when the sectional arrived, I quickly realized that it was not made very well. Both recliners had defected metal underneath and did not close properly. The metal was bent and damaged, making it impossible to push the recliners back in. Additionally, on one recliner, the entire back leather seam was completely apart, with the white inside sticking out. This made it extremely uncomfortable to sit on, as the wood was sticking into my back.
I immediately contacted the warranty department, who told me to contact Renegade Furniture Group, the parent company of Coleman Furniture, as the sectional was still under factory warranty. However, when I contacted the company, they told me that the issues I was experiencing fell under normal wear and tear and that they could not assist me further. This was extremely frustrating, as I had purchased a five-year warranty specifically for situations like this.
I had already waited a month for the sectional to arrive, and it was falling apart after only a few months of use. I followed all the steps to try and resolve the matter, but nothing seemed to work. I even contacted a lawyer, who informed me that Coleman Furniture had multiple complaints and had even changed their name from Renegade Furniture Store to Coleman Furniture.
Throughout this entire process, I had been in contact with an account manager named who was not very helpful. I have saved all the emails and am considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to try and resolve this matter.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against doing business with Coleman Furniture. They are a terrible company run by dishonest people, and I am shocked that they are still in business.
Disappointing Experience with Coleman Furniture: Rawcliffe Sectional Review
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Coleman Furniture. I mean, I was excited to get my hands on the Rawcliffe sectional from Ashley Furniture, and when I called Coleman to ask if it was the real deal, they assured me it was. So, I went ahead and ordered it online, since their shipping time was way faster than Ashley's. But boy, was that a mistake.
First of all, they changed the shipping date on me two days before it was supposed to arrive. They said the couch was out of stock, but why didn't they tell me that when I ordered it back in April? Then, when it finally did arrive in August, it was a mess. The movers brought in the first piece and I noticed a huge patch of fabric covering up a damaged area. What the heck? This is supposed to be a brand new couch! And that wasn't even the worst of it. There were holes in the fabric, no padding between the fabric and wood on the ottoman and arms, rips on the underneath part, and even two different colors of fabric on different pieces of the sectional. Plus, staples were coming out all over the place. The delivery guy even said it was the worst couch he'd ever had to deliver.
So, I called Coleman to complain and they said they'd give me a refund if I refused delivery. The movers agreed that was the best course of action, so I sent the couch back. But then, two weeks later, still no refund. I emailed customer service and they said I had to agree to a $1788 refund instead of the $2300 I paid for shipping and restock fees. What?! I have to pay over $500 for a lemon of a couch that they shipped me? I told them I didn't agree and filed a complaint with the BBB.
And then, get this, they emailed me saying they were going to reship the couch to me! The same couch that was sitting in a warehouse for three weeks, gathering mildew and who knows what else. And they can't even give me an estimate of when it will arrive. I mean, come on, isn't that bait and switch? And how can a couch that was patched before it was even delivered be considered new?
I wish I had checked their BBB rating before I ordered from them. They even have a scam alert listed for their company. What a racket.
Nightmare Experience with Coleman Furniture: Unethical Business Practices and Poor Customer Service
If you're thinking about buying from Coleman Furniture (or their parent company Renegade Furniture), I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. My experience with them was a nightmare and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. While everything may seem great when things go according to plan, it's when something goes wrong that you truly see a company's true colors. And let me tell you, Coleman Furniture's true colors are not pretty. They engage in some of the most unethical business practices I've ever seen.
My partner and I ordered an expensive bedroom set from them in early December 2018. We were hoping to time the delivery with our move into our new home, but their estimated "6-8 week" delivery lead time turned into almost 24 weeks (nearly 6 months) before we were able to put this behind us. And even then, we didn't receive all of our furniture and they refused to refund us for the items we didn't receive.
It all started with emails from Coleman that kept pushing out the estimated delivery date. After the third email, I called to cancel our order and ask for a refund. At first, they said it was okay to process a refund since the goods hadn't shipped yet. But the very next day, I received an email from their customer service manager saying that our furniture was on its way and that we would incur a penalty if we cancelled our order. This was three months ago! Our first real delivery of the bedroom furniture didn't happen until several weeks later, and even then, the "white glove delivery" couldn't put together our bed because it was missing key components. Our dresser also arrived seriously damaged and had to be taken back.
Their customer service team seriously lacks in two key areas: empathy and empowerment. They don't seem to understand what "customer service" means and they're not empowered to help overcome Coleman's fundamental operational loopholes. None of their promises to "escalate" our issues or "prioritize" our delivery materialized into anything. Worst of all, they kept refusing to cancel our order for products we didn't receive.
In conclusion, I will never do business with Coleman Furniture or any of their associated companies again. I hope this review helps others avoid the same terrible experience I had.
Nightmare Delivery and Wrong Items: My Disappointing Experience with Coleman Furniture
I recently purchased a dining set with 4 chairs from Coleman Furniture (colemanfurniture.com) and I must say, I was extremely disappointed with my experience. Firstly, I had to wait a whopping 8 weeks to receive my set, which was already frustrating. But the real nightmare began on the day of delivery. I was given a 4 hour window for delivery from 2-6pm, but 6pm came and went with no sign of the delivery company. Finally, at around 6:30pm, I received a call from the delivery guy informing me that he was running late. I mean, come on, couldn't they have called earlier to let me know?
To make matters worse, the delivery company didn't arrive until around 7:30-7:45pm, which was almost 2 hours past my four hour window for delivery. The two guys that showed up to deliver and assemble the table looked sketchy as hell with neck tattoos and like they had a hard night of partying. Who knows what they were actually doing and why they were 2 hours late. They then proceeded to assemble the table and chairs in the street in front of my house, in the dark. It took them another 2 hours to do this. So I had to sit around waiting for these guys for a total of 8 hours and had to cancel plans I had that evening because they didn't leave my house until almost 10pm!
To top it all off, the table was damaged in 3 spots and the 4 chairs I ordered were the completely wrong color! I ordered grey chairs and they showed up green! How is that even possible? I pointed this out to the delivery guy and he made a note of it, but it didn't seem like it mattered much. Shortly after all of this, I received an email from Coleman Furniture asking me for feedback. I gave them the whole story and let them know how unhappy I was with the whole ordeal and that I did not get what I paid for. But nobody contacted me, so I had to call them and file a complaint.
I had to give my story to at least 3 different people as I got shuffled around from person to person, basically being given the runaround. Upon taking a closer look at the product number of the table and 4 chairs I received, I discovered that the numbers did not match up to what I ordered. I assume I got sent the wrong items. But in the end, what did they tell me? "Our website has a disclaimer that says the pictures are just a representation and product colors may vary... blah blah blah." The name of the chair had the word GREY in it! How did I end up with green chairs? I told them the product numbers didn't match up and they told me too bad, I signed for it. What was I supposed to do? The guys were in my house at almost 10pm and I was ready for them to get out of my house! So I signed and told them to note all these things on the paper I signed.
Now Coleman Furniture tells me I am stuck with a damaged table, chairs that are the wrong color and they don't give a $#*!. I am extremely disappointed with the whole experience and would not recommend this company to anyone. And to add insult to injury, their Facebook page won't allow me to tag it, leave a review or even message them. It seems like they are used to getting complaints and don't want to deal with them. Save yourself the headache and avoid Coleman Furniture at all costs!
Return policy
I bought a chest of drawers off of this company. I was called by the delivery company and told the day of delivery. They showed up early so I was still at work. They stated that they had drove from Tampa and needed to get back so they asked if I could get a neighbor to come and accept delivery. I did get a neighbor to do this. When I got home, I could see that the chest of drawers was the wrong color. I have the same furniture in my bedroom but mistakenly picked the wrong color when I was ordering. If I was home, I could have seen this and declined delivery.
I called the company soon after, which was within the return time. I told them that I made the mistake and that I knew I would have to pay some kind of penalty. I paid a total of 1063.58 with free shipping. When I called to get a resolution the customer service reps were not helpful at all and appeared to try to want to upset me. I can deal with that since it is hard to get good employees these days and it is obvious this company has horrible employees.
The problem that I have is that I paid a total of 1063.58. Coleman Furniture wants to charge a 149.10 restocking fee and then 618.00 for shipping. So out of the 1063.58 that I paid for this chest of drawers, they only want to refund 296.48. I made the mistake and knew I would have to pay a penalty but to only get 296.48 back is a total rip off. I tried to reason with them and stated that I would be buying the correct color so they would make money off of that transaction as well as they would be delivering the new chest of drawers so they could pick up the return item so not to make a special trip to just pick up the returned item. They would not accommodate me at all.
Desired outcome: Exchange for a reasonable charge
Poor Customer Service - rude and naster Manager Angela Villa Garcia
I ordered on November 2nd a bed 3 nightstands. I received a delivery on Decemeber 6th; however, I was delivered the wrong bed so I sent it back. When I called to inquire about the correct bed being delivered the Aftercare Manager Angela Villa Garcia continuously talked over me, had a nasty attitude, and advised if I cancelled I would have to pay a 15% restocking fee "whether I liked it or not." I did not appreciate the horrible customer service and nasty disposition especially since the incorrect delivery was not my fault. It would have been nice to receive some understanding and clarity as to when my bed would definitely be deliver instead of "you will recieve a call on the 16th." I have ordered from this company numerous times and was pleased but I will NEVER order from them again.
Desired outcome: My bed delivered as soon as possible.
Office furniture
Ongoing incomplete order since June 2022
Order consisted of executive desk, hutch, credenza and 2 book shelves from Coleman Furniture
The desk under carriage and top were damages. The delivery was refused and the desk returned with the delivery personnel.
The claim is that a technician only works on week end has been supposedly working on the repairs which are pushed every week for another week.
I was also told that the desk Coleman tried to send me was either used of demo, due to the assembly package not being the standard for new Items as was the rest of the order.
It has been since August now and still waiting for my desk to be returned to factory standards.
Original order - Coleman - Case CS-017956
Delivery Company: Blue Truck out of Arkansas.
Desired outcome: Have my desk returned to factory standards and returned to me timely.
Furniture no received and poor customer service
I ordered furniture on 6/1/22, way ahead of time. Moved into my new place on 8/19 still no furniture. Their customer service is awful, horrible, and I would not recommend them to a dog service. I will be blasting them all over Social Media. I spoke to Melissa B who claimed she was a manager and she basically said nothing and kept cutting me off while I talking. This company is the pits and I promise I will never ORDER or recommend family members or foes to order. My first and last time. The next step getting my family lawyer.
Shae Winnfield Reclining Sofa
This is poor excuse for a business. Coleman Furniture did not send me my couch and when I complained to them and told them I want a refund due to the fact that I do not have my furniture that I paid for, the account manager said she will get her legal dept to sue me. I can't believe she told me that. So when ever they feel like getting back to me about what happened to my sofa I just have to grin and bear it. Terrible customer service.
Desired outcome: I want my money back so I can go to a real furniture place and get my sofa.
Guardian protection plan
I have always bought from Coleman Furniture. However, the protection plan they sell with Guardian is aweful. I opened the cabinet door and the wood broke and door fell off. They say it is not covered because it was not a specific event. Wow! Like opening a door is not a specific event. Shame on Coleman for selling this policy to its customers. I should have read the Better Business Reviews before I bought from Coleman or the plan. I just never had problem with Coleman before to realize how bad the policy is. I do plan to do more research and file more complaints regarding this situation. Please make this right. It is Colemans responsibility to make sure what they sell is legit and Guardian is not. Thank you.
Desired outcome: I want them to fix or replace my chest that is covered under the policy sold to me by Coleman
Unreliable information
On july 2 2022 I ordered a flex steel side table for 255.00. I received a email saying they received my order and another email saying it come fully assembled. A few days later I received an email stating they cancelled my order without letting me know. I then said not to cancel I didn't mind waiting for it. They cancelled. I looked it up and now they want 665.00 for it. That is wrong!
Desired outcome: I want my table sent to me for the 255.00. I don't appreciate receiving false information
Damaged couch
Ordered a sectional and the couch was not the correct facing one even though I called and confirmed after I put in the order. Received the couch and noticed a hole in the back that was not seen at time of delivery because they set it up against the wall. I called them the same day and shared it was not the right facing couch for me and there was a hole. They will not refund me because what I order is what I received which is not what I am disputing. They have a 5 day guarantee that if you are unsatisfied for any reason you can return it however they said they won't take back damaged goods. Even though the hole is from delivery. They offered to fix the hole but that doesn't fix the issue.
Desired outcome: Refund
