Coles Supermarkets Australia reported dumped trolley being ignored

On Sunday 17 June 2018 I rang Coles Baulkham Hills to inform them that a trolley had been dumped on my front lawn.

48 Meryll Ave Baulkham Hills, corner of Keene St.

4 days later the trolley is still there. It shouldn't take this long to collect a trolley- which looks terrible on my lawn.

I have now reported the trolley to Council- I would like it removed immediately.

Coles Supermarkets Australia abysmal customer service and rudeness

At about 7.30pm this evening I was in line at the only open register. The operator said sorry and turned to help someone at the service counter. When the person there started to stack items and pull out a lot of receipts i was aware it was going to take a while. After 5 minutes and several I am sorry's i decided to take everything off the counter and put it back into my trolley and went to use the self service. During this time I received another sorry, but nothing was done to help rectify the wait. When i mentioned this to the person in the self service area I received the statement - I am not the manager I don't care!
So not only were the staff unwilling to attempt to rectify the sutuation and maybe call someone to help out, they were extremely rude and actually didn't care to be of service!

Coles Supermarkets Australia more appalling customer service - 388 george st sydney

This evening at approximately 7pm I selected a number of items from your Coles George St Outlet on my way home. I have had difficulty with your self service areas before but I understand your company has to take reasonable steps as far as security is concerned. However tonight was different and as a result I will never, 'ever' use Coles again to purchase groceries. On checking out my items at one of the self service registers, I had a query regards a discounted item I had chosen. Two of your staff members were next to me, one male, sitting on the Bagging Area shelf and a female colleague having a conversation. On asking the male politely "Could you help me please?", he merely stared at me and said nothing... and nothing happened. Eventually the female took the time and effort to leave her conversation post and come to my aid but by that stage I was halfway out the door, both embarrassed and defeated, whereby I heard the male employee remark after me "Hey I can't help you but she can". Is this really the sort of shabby treatment one should expect from a company of your status and magnitude? If the answer is no, then I regret to inform you that your people are failing you badly. Mind you my items would only have totalled around the $50 mark which is probably no more than a drop in the ocean to a company the size of yours, so no matter I guess. I nevertheless stopped off at Woolworths Chatswood to pursue the items I originally intended to buy. You know, I think the most frustrating thing about my experience is that I'm presently unemployed at the present time. I don't have the luxury of a paid job as I would very much like to have.in concluding, at the risk of sounding as subtle as a sledgehammer, if I were in place of the sort of employee you currently house, I will admit, I could easily set a far superior standard and example of service than the one I unfortunately encountered this evening. Coles Supermarkets Australia service

I had purchased my goods from Coles Brandon park and paid at the assisted checkout. I had a balance of $13.20. I had placed the $3.20 in my wallet but did not pick up the $10 I went back to the store to check this out . The manager Ahmed was very rude to me. When I showed him my wallet with no $10 note. He just went on about if I was at an arm that I would not get my money back etc. I reminded him that I went through an assisted checkout and in good faith to give me my $10 which he rudely refused and I also noticed that he seemed to bully the staff and they were quite scared to go against him. Having being a Coles customer since 1975 I would appreciate it if you would look into this complaint and would be very disappointed if this was simply ignored.

Coles Supermarkets Australia garry (manager)

I went instore to purchase cigarettes, and I asked for $20 cash out all in coins, I have said twice ALL IN COINS. He did not listen and proceeded to give me a note and when I corrected him, he said "this isn't China, we need the coins it's public holiday" I was mortified and left almost in tears. I called to speak to a manager and unfortunately he was the manager. I am Filipino and consider this an act of racism. I would like to make a formal complaint and I would like to be taken seriously as this is not something to be tolerated. If he hated asains, he should not be working.

I agree with you whole heartedly, Coles are fast becoming synonymous with rude, uncaring and shabby customer service and now care to bring racist commentary into the mix as well.I would lodge a formal complaint if I were you also.

Coles Supermarkets Australia quite a few products

I am a pensioner and live alone. I shop always at Coles Noosa Fair, Noosa Heads. I am rather concerned, as it is becoming more prevalent, that so may products including fruit and vegetables are sold as "Buy 3 for $5" or similar. If I only wanted one I have to pay anything from .50cents extra per item or even up to $1.00. If I buy the number given I, in many cases, end up throwing fruit and vegetables away. Living alone I can't consume edibles within the time before they go off. It is discriminatory to pensioners and those living alone. I'm also fed up with products being withdrawn and more expensive items replacing them. Recent instance, Robert Timms coffee beans 1kg. packs. They are around $20.00 a kg and sometimes on special for around $14/15. Only available now in 1Kg. packs are the more expensive brands such as Vittoria, Lavazza around $29/30 and Harris. I cannot afford that. I like to grind my own coffee and Robert Timms espresso 1Kg pack was at least good coffee, good value and affordable. The Coles brand does not come in espresso beans and is not very good. These are just a few examples. Obviously Coles does not consider that not all customers are family and many live alone.

Coles Supermarkets Australia prepackaged meatballs

On 8th june, 2018 I purchased at coles supermarket - store 903 at penrith (where I always shop) and purchased a pack of premade graze beef rissoles.

My husband cut into one of them after I had cooked them and bit into a piece of dark & shiny plastic. I still have the receipt & pieces of the hard plastic. I do not cook with plastic and it was found inside of the meatball... Luckily he did not swallow it.

Coles Supermarkets Australia store security

Whilst I was using the self serve checkout this evening, I had two plain clothed store security officers intimidating me and making me feel like a thief, even commenting on the fact that I was wearing a home detention anklet. They made me feel uncomfortable and like I don't want to shop there ever again. I shop there frequently, but their conduct was unprofessional

Coles Supermarkets Australia coles store

Monday 11th June 2018

To whom it may concern,

My name is Mrs Kelly Gow and I am a local resident and customer to your new Coles store located in Upper Coomera, at the new Coomera City Centre on Commercial Street Upper Coomera. After longing for a new Coles supermarket in our local area, excitedly we were over the moon to find out that a new Coles was going in and we were really looking forward to shopping there.

Over the last few months we have sadly had many bad experiences from shopping at this store and although family and friends have advised me to contact the manager of the store, I have ignored this advice and put it down to the fact that it is a brand-new store and that there are bound to be teething issues when opening a new store with a new team. However, sadly on Saturday the 9th June 2018 when shopping in the store, another incident occurred and this time I feel the need to email management of my concerns.

In previous experiences with shopping in this store and completing my weekly grocery shopping there has been numerous times where I have taken meat home, mainly packaged mince and sausages, and it has already been out of date on the shelf when I brought it and I haven't taken notice of the expiry date or I have opened it up and then the meat has been off but still within the before expiry date. On every occasion I have returned to the store with the meat and the response I have received has been of an inconvenience rather than of concern at the fact that my family could have come in contact with meat that could have made them very sick.

Having worked in retail myself before I totally understand that days get busy and there are always lots of things for staff to be doing, but customer service I feel is a very important aspect of retail, and something that makes a customer want to return to a store. On several occasions when shopping in this store, I have been left standing at the deli waiting for workers to finish their personal life conversation before addressing the fact that I have been left standing there waiting to be served. I have found some staff to be unwelcoming when coming into the store and very rarely have I been served at the counter with a smile or even a respectful "Hi how are you today?". Now I have made comments to staff at the service desk before that I feel they need more staff on the checkouts as I myself and so many other customers are left standing around for quite a while to be served as there are only 2 checkouts open but yet am I to see an improvement when going into the store.

On Saturday the 9th of June I attended the store again to do my weekly shopping with my 9 year old daughter and unfortunately she slipped and sustained a pretty bad injury. My daughter was standing in the isle with me as I was looking at the garlic bread. She was behind me and to the side a little and she was twirling around when she accidently slipped in her thongs and fell over hitting her arm pretty badly on the cold storage shelf.

The accident was not of fault to the store, as I did check if there was anything on the floor that may have caused her to slip, however what my concern is, standing right beside me was a staff member filling the shelf and after hearing me respond verbally out loud to my daughter about her fall, this staff member looked at my daughter before walking away, offering no assistance or concern for what had just happened. Now I had never asked this member for any sort of assistance as my daughter was rather embarrassed however she did see her on the floor hurt and had heard me speak to my daughter about her fall, and she simply walked away offering no assistance. This I have to say, absolutely disgusts me and I feel is extremely bad customer service. I have attached a photo of the injury my daughter did sustain from the fall for you to share my disgust in the lack of empathy or concern from the staff member.

This Coles store is of great convenience for myself and my family for our weekly grocery shop and having shopped across the road at Woolworths for the entire time we have lived in Pimpama, we were excited to finally see a Coles across the road, as we do really like the variety that is available at Coles. After this bad experience we had on the weekend, I am now very reluctant to shop at this Coles store anymore. A wide variety of produce attracts me to Coles but that is quickly outweighed by lack of customer service, empathy when accidents do happen and the respect I receive as a customer when I do return food that is not eatable.

I feel that as a valued member of the local community, I felt it was necessary to email the appropriate people in regards to expressing my concerns in the hope that issues that I have raised in this email can be addressed so that no other customers have the same bad experiences that I have experienced.

I would like to thank you for your time in reading and responding to my email and I would really appreciate some feedback on my concerns.

Kind regards

Mrs Kelly Gow

Coles Supermarkets Australia coles runaway bay qld supervisors/manager.

My son was employed by this store for approximately 7 months on a casual basis. Then he stopped getting any shifts.I called and spoke to his supervisor about it and because hed missed a shift due to a Uni exam, she was not happy. He called her and apologised and she said"dont let it happen again". Thats fair enough but she didnt say he was fired so he waiting for shifts for months whilst applying for other jobs.He then called the store manager and asked him if he was still employed. He brushed him off and said hed find out from his supervisor, Louise and get her to call him back. NOTHING.No missed calls from her or the store and no shifts. Its pathetic and unprofessional. Casual employees should be given at least one formal warning if theres a problem and then the decency and guts to tell staff if they dont want them.
Something needs to be done to give casuals some rights to warnings or written termination with good reason.

Coles Supermarkets Australia coles ultimate apple pie

This product is a frozen product of which they is no stickers relating to this, as this product cannot be refrozen, it is I feel a bit deceptive as it is sold in the bakery section. I have made a local complaint to Clifton Beach Coles already of which they were appreciative. I was shocked to discover this as I have previously purchased this product in a number of other coles supermarkets of which it must have been fully defrosted & have cut & frozen portions. It is thankful that I have not become sick. I think this is something you need to remedy in all your stores.

I 've look at 11.00 pm says did not delivered. Until the following morning called customer service, first one and second time it was cutoff and third one name Bianca say anyone can pick the groceries today and so upsetting is saying if someone from my family can pick up? Why I have to asked for delivery and telling me if somebody can pick up from my family, I don't see the logic of what she is saying then she said she will call the manager they will refund within 3 days to 5 days. which the main point is I always have every week delivery my family to have for the week as I had hard time to do my groceries. My budget blew up and have some of my groceries needed. This is no excused at all . Money will refund next week but the point of not having our ordered delivered 3 x.

Coles Supermarkets Australia asian massaman beef curry

About 2 weeks ago I bought this at Coles Corinda and froze it till I was ready to eat it which I attempted last night. Of the probably 15 or so chunks of 'beef' in the pack an astonishing 7 (by count) were fatty gristle. I am not seeking a refund of the $5 or $10 or whatever it was. I seek an assurance that you have tweaked your quality controls before I dare to try this product again - if ever I find the courage.

Coles Supermarkets Australia coles drovers choice top side beef roast

Coles Drovers Choice, is a horrible piece of meat, worthy of serving to your dog. How the supermarket chain can sell such chemically ridden crap to the Australian public is a joke.
Adding the like of sugar, dextrose, three acidity regulators and the like to a piece of meat and selling it as "marinated" is completely wrong and immoral. It states 91% beef, then there is more than 9% of this product NOT beef.
Coles owns the brand "Drovers Choice" and the Australian public is just getting crap seconds and being charged for it. It should be illegal to sell anything in this country especially from a supermarket, which should have clean fresh produce. Coles is now firmly down in the quality market and the gut ache I have from this poor quality food affects everyone.
Where are our useless politicians with this one...

Agree totally - though I wouldn’t give it to my dog ! I bought a Coles branded ,proudly labelled hormone free roast to dice and cook up with ox heart ,verges etc to make food for my dog . I know this sounds a bit frivolous but compared to a lot of Hills Science Food the cost is the same per serve . I cut open the packet and strange gelatinous blood sat there . Behold on the back of the packet in tiny writing are the chemical additives . Just wrong and sneaky marketing , does not state anything about marinated on the front - just the “ingredients,” on the back . I’m going to take it back in protest because I’m not at all satisfied with this false advertising.

Coles Supermarkets Australia fruit for kids

I've posted this on the Coles Facebook page a couple months ago and am not happy it hasn't been dealt with. When you offer kids fruit, they should be ripe. The bananas there are anything but. Today I went to do some shopping and went to give my 1.5 year old a banana. Not only was there actually bananas that were still green, but the one that I went to give her, I could hardly open. So I threw it in the bin and went to Woolworths instead, as they supply ripe bananas for children. Until this problem has been rectified, I will not be shopping at Coles noarlunga

Coles Supermarkets Australia unethical behaviour

To whom it may concern,
I'm not expecting anything to happen but feel you should know this employee of yours is affecting your Sippy Downs, QLD store.
Today at around 1:30/2:00pm on the 6/6/18 I went to your Sippy Downs store in QLD, where as I was entering the car park I had to stop for a lady with a pram and small child. I watched her leave the crossing safely and kept my eyes on the small child as I started to move the car forward over the crossing. I then suddenly out the corner of my eye noticed a line of trollies and your 'trolly lady' had started to enter the crossing without me seeing as the trollies has been hidden behind the cars parked. I apologiesed and smiled through the window as yes this was my fault entering the crossing without seeing her pushing the trollies.

Where my problem lies is that she then proceeded to find me in the car park, approach me and start yelling at me. She confronted me saying 'is my vest not bright enough for you?!', I then appologised again and explained I was watching the kids and genuinely hadn't seen her. She started yelling at me how I thought her life meant nothing and that me getting into the shops was more important than her life, by yelling this caused a scene and other customers to look at us while she kept yelling.

I felt and still feel very uncomfortable hence writing this email. I don't like confrontation and feel this is completely unacceptable. I felt intimidated and scared. I told her I was sorry and it was a mistake that I genuinely hadn't seen her behind the cars, which she didn't seem to care about.

I am from Caloudra and shop mainly online as I have 2 small kids and will use your Stockland center Coles in Caloundra when I need something in store. I study in the area of Sippy Downs and this was only my second and last time entering this store. I understand that sometimes people have bad days but this was completely unacceptable behaviour in a customer service position.

Your employee was a middle aged to older lady with blonde hair. I unfortunately didn't take note of her name badge as I was feeling scared and just wanted to get out of there.

Thank you,

Kelly Morriss

Coles Supermarkets Australia delivery

On Tuesday the 6th of July at 6.30 a Copes delivery van driver was insulting as he delivered to 558 Moreland rd. He parked in the middle of the driveway which meant two resident vehicles were stuck in a dangerous area and forced to wait for him to repark to the side. He left his trolley at the foot of the stairwell which blocked residents access to their flats. He could of moved the trolley around the corner of 30 cm to enable access. He called me rude for being unhappy with the inconvenience and was I felt he was incredibly aggressive in requesting a complaint not be made as he believed this acceptable. I find it unacceptable for males to be abusive to women. I took a photo of the vehicle and was attempting to photograph the blocked stairwell when he returned and was verbally abusive.
