I bought a 150 Super Hornet and spoke with Wayne on the phone about shipping details. The only good thing was shipping was fast. Got the title in the mail about a month later after calling him a few times asking about where it was. I went to the DMV and registered the bike and got my plates.
The same day, I realized that the VIN number on the registration didn’t match the VIN on the bike. I went back to the DMV and sure enough, the VIN on the title did not match the bike. That was my mistake for not checking. The DMV told me to call County Imports and get the correct title sent to me and they would fix the registration. They also needed a written notorized statement from County Imports stating that they sent the wrong title and that they still have possession of the bike matching the VIN number of the title they sent me. They let me keep the plate because we thought that this would be resolved within the next week or two. Now here’s where everything fell apart.
I called Wayne and immediately he was apologetic and within a week, he sent me the correct title. But no statement. I went to the DMV with the correct title but they still wanted that statement from County Imports. They needed to know from the company that I did not have possession of the bike with that VIN number on the first title.
Over the next several months, and I mean several months, I called Wayne over and over again. Most times I got no answer. A few times he did answer and I kept asking him when I was going to get that statement. He kept telling me that he was extremely busy but he would email a statement. I told him that it had to be hand written and notarized because that’s what the DMV wanted. He told me he would get it done. Months go by and nothing.
Eventually, a full freaking year went by and in my last call to him, I chewed him out big time. I was so nice and patient with him for a freaking year because I wanted this to go smoothly but I had enough. He told me that if I wanted the statement, I had to send him $35 to get it notorized. I told him I wasn’t going to send him any money for his mistake that was over a year ago and that I tried to get fixed over a year ago. He got mad and said he wasn’t going to send me anything and to not contact him again. My plates eventually expired and I was not able to renew my registration because I never got that statement. I had no choice but to eventually sell the bike cheap as is for parts because it would never be road legal again without spending more money on legal action which I could not afford.
Screw you Wayne!
