DealDash DealDash Review: Misleading TV Ads & Disadvantages for New Users

DealDash is a website that advertises on TV, showing people who claim to have paid only $10 for items such as Bluetooth earphones and luggage. However, this price does not reflect the entire cost of the item. As a new user on DealDash, you are at a disadvantage compared to those who have been on the site for a longer time, especially those who have been on the site for 8-12 years. This is because they have accumulated bids at a very low price and are next to impossible to outbid.

If you buy bids from DealDash, you will pay from 11 cents per bid to 14 cents per bid. DealDash also gives you bids for various reasons, and as you advance your "level" goes up. What this means is that every 48 hours, depending on the multiplier or discounter of time associated with your level, you get free bids. For example, a level of 2 reduces the 48 hours to 24. If you are at a high level like me, which is level 72, the number of free bids has increased to over 1,000. I have talked to the company twice, and today I sent them an email saying I would be closing my account. One of the reasons for this is that their TV ads do not include what you pay for bids.

Old-timers on DealDash have been able to accumulate bids at a very low price and are next to impossible to outbid. I have included a screenshot of the bidding I have been involved with for many days against this one person. Normally, I wouldn't compete against someone who has been on the site since 5/17/2011 - over eleven years. If you bid on this site, you must establish your own bidding rules. Here are mine: if I see something I want to try to buy, I get a bid in before the $3 or sometimes $5 cut off where you can no longer bid. Then I watch and wait. I may enter the bidding with 10-30 bids just to see the order of bidding. But I will then wait to actually enter bidding when there are 3 or 2 bidders left - preferably 2.

I entered the bidding for these three bowls to give to my wife when there were two bidders. One was the guy remaining with 11 years of gathering cheap bids and another that was a year or two on the site. The price when I entered was over $300. After a while, the other bidder dropped out. So each bid is a penny, and there have been 2 bidders for over four days. There are 9 seconds between bids, typically. For mathematical ease, let's use 10 seconds. So in one minute, there are 6 bids placed - a penny a bid. That would be 90 bids in 15 minutes, 180 bids in a half hour, and 360 bids in an hour. If there are two people bidding as in my situation, I will spend 180 bids in one hour of bidding.

The last bidding price in the screenshot was $644.23. Remember, each bid adds 1 cent to the bid price. So 180 bids placed in an hour is the equivalent of 180 cents. And if you buy them at the low end when it is offered of 11 cents per bid, it costs you around $20 for the bids unless you are an old-timer and receive a large amount of free bids.

This is why the TV ads are a total misrepresentation, and why you are at an extreme disadvantage against someone who has been on the site since 5/17/2011 versus me, who joined on 4/22/2022. If you look at the top right corner of the screenshot, you will see that they are offering 50% off. So if you won, you would pay $322.11, but that fails to count what you paid for bids!

As someone who spent their career on Wall Street, I am now 72 years old and have a decent understanding of bids and offers. In addition, I had the fortune of being featured in over 50 articles in the Wall Street Journal. So obviously, I have a talent for investing and trading markets. The reason for my strategy goes back to my experiences on Wall Street. What came to my mind was I was looking at a stock or something for sale where there were 1,000 people bidding and only one offer - the product. Hence the reasoning to put in an initial bid so I could come back when there were only a couple of bidders to compete against.

On the website, I am ASonOfFreedom with a sun rising in the mountains of Colorado with a cross. Jesus came into my life on November 15, 1970, saved me from my sins, and I have had the fortune of walking and getting to experience His grace, love, mercy, and protection. This posting site requires proof of purchase, which is demonstrated on the bidding board, and to tell you about myself. All of which I have done. May God bless you, and be careful of DealDash. They are very good and sophisticated at putting their hands on your wallet.

DealDash DealDash Review: Fun Penny Auction Site with Strategy Opportunities and Great Customer Service

Deal Dash is a really cool site where you can bid on items up for auction one penny at a time. But don't be fooled, just because each bid you place only raises the final auction price by a penny does not mean that you are only losing a penny each time you bid. You have to purchase bids ahead of time in order to participate in any auctions. And while they are penny bids they cost more when you purchase them, in the area of 15 cents a piece. Sometimes that number changes give or take a little, but it's usually in that ballpark.

The winner of the auction is the person who placed the last bid just before the clock runs down to zero. However, the clock only runs out if everyone else quits and you were the only one left bidding. It's not like a typical auction where if there's ten minutes left it ends in 10 minutes with the highest bid. Instead here, the last 5 seconds of the auction continues to repeat itself every single time someone jumps in and places a bid. In other words, every time someone places a bid the clock goes back up to 5 seconds again. This could potentially go on for hours and it does. So you see at $0.15 per bid this can get very expensive.

Also, should you win, you now also must pay the final price that the auction went up to. On DealDash, they auction off more high-class items which can become expensive at checking out even after you have already won as well. So if the auction goes on one penny at a time for hours and hours and when the clock finally does hit zero, if the item price is up to $115.00, then the winner must also pay that amount as well, on top of all his bids placed which he does not get back.

Now in all fairness, they also offer many specials like half off final value price, or even free checkout days, they have bid sales, and they even offer chances for you to gain free bids by sending in photos of you with one of your wins, or by bidding a certain number of times. They have levels and every time you gain a level up you get free bids. And when they do free bids that give you a very generous portion. Not like some sites where you get 10 that you can get anywhere from 100 to 500 free bids just for leveling up. Of course, as you get further along in the game, it takes longer and longer to level up. But that is to be expected in any game.

They also include a few other fair things that some penny auction sites don't like once the item hits $5 no new bidders can enter. There are caps on how many times you can win the same item so it's not the same person winning every time. And that sort of helps. But you do have your people who are willing to pay way more than retail value just to be the "winner" and that is where the whole thing gets crazy. They are not looking for a deal they're looking for sport and it kind of makes the whole thing lame. You'll see certain people's names and just leave the auction room. Eventually, they start to win everything for cheap because nobody wants to bet against them because they know they will not stop. They will pay $200 for an item with a brand new retail value of $50 if they just go buy it at the store, just in order to be the "winner". Unfortunately, it can become very aggressive and I mean very aggressive with certain players and it becomes easy to get caught up in.

I don't know if they will ever be able to do anything about people like that or if they even want to seeing as they are probably valued customers from their angle. At any rate, I want to mention that DealDash customer service is out of this world. They are hands down the best customer support team in all of Penny auction. They definitely possess the old-fashioned attitude when it comes to placing tremendous value on their customers, and that's all customers no matter how much you spend. It seems so many modern-day businesses have lost that aspect somewhere along the way. So when you come across service like that it is always a breath of fresh air.

So to recap, the site can be very, very fun too. Almost to the point that it's addicting. Of all the penny auction sites, this one offers the most opportunity for you to use some strategy. Most others I have tried, the way they have things set up, it is zero strategy and all luck and how much you spend. Here's one example, DealDash when bidding on an item we'll show you what that item went for the last five times it was up for auction. So if it trended around $50 every time then you know if it's only at $5 now you may be in it for the Long Haul and it may be best to wait and come back later. Not been on another site that offers this kind of information so it can be used to a player's advantage. Stuff like that is what I mean by strategy versus all 100 percent luck.

So guys if you use it recreationally every now and then for fun Deal Dash can be extremely entertaining. Just don't get caught up in the hoopla of winning something at any cost because trust me it will add up on you before you know what hit you. So play careful. And have fun. I haven't read the other reviews on DealDash here but I would not consider it a scam at all, as they lay everything out for you right on the site. It's all explained in the how to start section, there's a tips and tricks section, a help section, a how it works section, a winner section, a dashboard section, and they give you every detail explaining the process from start to finish. So if you should find that you feel it's a scam, you do not have to indulge in it. That simple. I personally consider a scam to be something in which includes some type of deceit and that's not going on here. You just have to read things through before whipping out your credit card. But that holds true for any online site in my opinion.

Well, that's all I got. Thanks.

DealDash Unauthorized card transaction

10/3/2022 @8:44pm:

I signed up for dealdash to see what it was about, and instantly got charged $78 for 600 bids on my debit card without being asked if I wanted that. I’ve seen that others have had this issue, and I would like my money back like they got theirs back. That’s wrong to charge someone money without asking for their consent. Please fix this.

Desired outcome: Get Money Back

10/3/2022 @8:44pm:

I signed up for dealdash just to see what it was about and got charged $78 without approving that transaction. This seems like it’s happened to other people, and I would also like my money back. I’m not sure why a company would take money out of an account without the member consenting to it, and understanding the terms.

DealDash Deal dash

I signed up on deal dash and put my credit card on the site and before I had a chance to look around and decide if I actually wanted to do it they debited my account for $78 and over drew my account. I wasn't sure at all if I was going to use them or not. But, they took money anyway.

That was on October 1st, 2022. I would like a refund and I emailed them about it and I've had no reply.

DealDash $78.00 deducted from my bank account

I just signed up as a new customer and linked my PayPal account. A few hours later, I get a notice that $78 had been taken from my account without purchasing anything. In fact, it's still a pending transaction. I didn't see anywhere I had to pay to use your service. I then thought maybe in fine print we are required to buy bids. I log back in an don't have any bids. Why was $78.00 taken from my account?

Desired outcome: Refund my account the $78.00 you took without permission.

DealDash Deceiving website, stay away!

I created an account at DealDash, and without my permission, or at least without a clear statement, they took $78,00 from my bank account. I wrote a message through their customer support system, and so far they didn't reply to me nor tried to find a solution to my problem. Another point, this company is so unprofessional and their ads are very deceiving, it seems it is almost impossible to win a bet. I want a full refund of my money immediately.

DealDash Complaint

I won a $500 for $16 and change then when I went to go and pay for the item the next day Llardo jewelry they just closed my account. I submitted a ticket to ask why but they have yet to reply. They just keep ignoring me. I complained on BBB. They refunded me the $30 for the bid pack but I want the item that I won fair and square. They claim they dont have auto bidders but I highly suspect that they do. Just take a look at the ones that are always winning and who are still able to bid on the same thing. I think those bidders are supposed to bid on those items all the time. See for yourself. They want you to spend 11/13 a bid but only want you to win $10 gift cards and lame items like that. So who's really winning after all. Even if you do get lucky with winning a high dollar item they will just shut down your account for no reason and probably return your $ if it's your first bid pack. After that you lose either way. Beware just go to Ebay at least they are legit. I should have listen to the reviews. They should go away. They are no good and dishonest in my opinion. But that's just my experience

Desired outcome: Not fsir

Be Careful it is Not what it seems Sometimes and many times.

People get addicted and only think to Win and spend more than it worth.

There are deal dash accounts too bidding against you (Fake Accounts), to drive the price up!

Good thing I am a web builder and I will expose what is going on here!

Buyer beware:

DO the MATH of Cost of Bids and then the price SO you do not cheat yourself.

Sometimes it is better to Buy the item and get your Bids back!

Then Retire from Gambling!

DealDash Beware

Beware. Everything on this website is fake, including their system. Newcomers only give money and rarely got decent auctions, but those who have been on the website for a while and spent a lot of money, they have some privileges and always win the best auctions. I was a witness of one auction that lasted 5 days and ended up with an obvious win.
Saying once again - beware, you can't win if you're watched by other people knowing how many bids were placed.

DealDash bogus overpriced products

Deal Dash has many products that they have set up like they are selling products only there and on Deal Dash for way over inflated products. For example AAVA Products. It has a website that only sells the products there and at Deal Dash and not anywhere else. I checked Neimun Marcus and you can get for example Stateless Steel Flatware, their most expensive brand, for hundreds of dollars less than what this website and Deal Dash says what this produvct is worth. Funny this website is selling Finnish Products and Deal Dash is located in Finland. Interesting is that the box says it is made in China.

This same things goes for many products sold on Deal Dash.

As far as electronics go, they probably buy the products at a deeply discounted rates and sells you at a retail price that is at a unbelievably market up price. Do yourself a favor and check the prices at real stores, plus oftentimes these items are sold at a huge discount, especially from November till January.

Oh and some of these products you'll see selling on Amazon. They're from winners at Deal Dash, lol.

About DealDash

Screenshot DealDash
DealDash is a well-established and widely recognized online auction platform that operates in the United States. Launched in 2009, the platform has become a significant player in the e-commerce industry, gaining popularity due to its unique bidding model that distinguishes it from traditional online retailers.

The core offering of DealDash is its 'pay-to-participate' auction format. Customers buy bid packs, with each bid adding time to the clock and increasing the item's price minimally. The last person to place a bid when the clock runs out wins the item. This exciting model turns online shopping into an engaging game, often enabling customers to buy high-quality products at significantly reduced prices.

One of the notable features of DealDash is the wide variety of items available for auction. From everyday household items to high-end electronics and gift cards, the platform caters to a broad spectrum of customer needs and preferences. This variety, coupled with the prospect of snagging great deals, contributes to the platform's high user engagement.

DealDash is also recognized for its commitment to customer satisfaction. The company provides a 'Buy It Now' option for customers who do not win the auction. With this option, customers can purchase the item at its regular price and get a refund of the bids they used during the auction, minimizing the risk of losing money.

The platform's user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for customers to browse items, place bids, and monitor auctions in progress. Moreover, DealDash also offers mobile apps for both iOS and Android devices, thereby providing the convenience of bidding on-the-go.

Transparency and fairness are central to DealDash's operations. The company has robust policies in place to ensure all auctions are conducted fairly. Furthermore, DealDash is open about its business model, with detailed explanations about the bidding process, tips and strategies prominently available on the website to guide users, particularly those new to the platform.
