On September 19, 2024 while in Costa Maya
We went into Diamonds International to look at rings. We did find one. It was $5800. Receipt #[protected]. It was a 3 stone diamond ring. I examined the ring and the band as did my daughter-in-law.
The ring was taken for sizing. Told to return in 2 hours. We returned. The salesman placed the ring on my finger and it fit. My fingers were swollen due to the heat.
When I returned home on the 23rd I examined my ring and found a goug mark from where it had been sized. I immediately contacted DI to file a complaint. I got ahold of a lady by the name of Argelia. She has been helpful.
The problem I have is the store in Costa Maya damaged the ring and hid the fact. Never saying a word. Never confessing they damged it and offer to repair it.
I returned my ring to DI on 29 September in hopes of getting repaired and downsized 1/4 size.
On October 8th I received a message from Argelia stating that DI will repair my ring in 5-6 weeks. That is totally unacceptable. I had my ring, damaged, for 9 days. You are now holding my ring hostage because you need 5-6 weeks to make known repairs that the man in Costa Maya hid from me.
Diamonds International owe me compensation for lying to me, hiding the fact they damaged my ring, now keeping it 5-6 weeks. I had for only 9 days. This is wrong.
Claimed loss: $5800
Desired outcome: I want a 25% discount of my ring. Diamonds International damaged the ring while sizing and they conveniently forgot to tell me.
