Fraudulent Billing
I am done giving enormous detail. As I have repeated myself first to dish, then the BBB, then the FCC, then the FBI and finally the state of Michigan Attorney General. They billed 74.99 on 12.8.2021 for a boxing match nobody in my 2 person home knew about, cared about or accidentally purchased. 40 minutes on the phone with a DISH billing representative ended with "there is nothing we can do" after being offended by that response, a quick google search shows this is their business practice! We need a class action lawsuit against DISH!
$300 gift card for signing up
We started our service in September, it is now December and we have not received the promised gift card. I have called 4-5 times and am told it's on its way, or they had to issue a new one. But it's way past the time they said to wait for processing. Seeing how many people have had problems I do t u sweat and why dish continues to offer this or use their current rebate service. I am tempted to cancel, after all they did not fulfill their end of the promised deal. I am very disappointed. This is the first time we have gotten satellite internet in many years and now we regret it.
Desired outcome: Have my $300 gift card sent
CBS and Fox Sport unavailable
I watch football and especially Texas High School championship. Dish can't blame networks alone and outage has extended way too long. Plus we loose signal in moderate rain events. We're switching to another provider ASAP!
Desired outcome: Switching providers
Gift Card Does not work
We switched to Dish in September and received a $300 debit gift card that expires 1/22. I used it for about $70 worth of merchandise on Walmart website, and now Walmart is telling me there are insufficient funds to pay for an $18 order? There is no where to call for this card, no way to check the balance, NOTHING! Who can I contact to get the rest of what I was promised for switching to DISH?
No Root Sports!
I've been a Dish Network customer for over 20 years. I'm extremely upset that we have now lost Root Sports and NBC in the NW. Billing stays the same, but there is no price cut for the missing stations. I'm a great sports fan and losing Root Sports has caused me to not be able to watch Seattle Mariners and Portland Trailblazers games. FIX IT IMMEDIATELY, OR SWITCHING TO DIRECT TV.
Desired outcome: Return Root Sports and NBC NOW!!
Channel 199 Dreamscape
I really enjoyed the ones for September nad October. There was a lot of animation and things in motion. However, Nov & Dec are complete disappointments. The limbs don't move despite what sounds like a gale blowing. The sound you're using is obnoxious. The whole thing is too static. Nothing happens. Lights come on or off, but nothing moves. Except a dog who shows up twice and barks. There could be a rabbit sniffing around. A vehicle that turns up the road into the trees and returns later with a tree. The dog could go up on the porch and inside when it gets dark, . A shadowy figure could drive the truck away at night and return later. You've changed artists, and this one just isn't as good as the others. Boring. The sound isn't even pleasant - one long roar with jingle bells thrown in that don't seem to relate to anything.
Desired outcome: Get back the other artist who did these things.
Unethical behavior
I called dish network on Nov 30, 2021 and spoke to an employee Sarah. We agreed and entered into a 12-month commitment for $40 off my monthly bill and that the new bill was totaling $90.89 per month for 12 months. Sarah informed me to not pay my current balance due for a couple days until promotional credits went through. I looked every couple days to see if the promo credits and updated balance was reflective of what was discussed and there was no change. I called dish network back on dec. 7, 2021 and spoke with Miguel who informed me that nothing had changed. furthermore, that my bill was going to be actually $10 higher per month than that of what Sarah and I had agreed to. After many minutes of useless discussion, I requested to speak with his supervisor. I now spoke with Ashley a senior resolution specialist. She informed me that anything I agreed to previously with Sarah on Nov. 30, 2021, was in fact not accurate and if I wanted to keep with the same programming that I would have to pay $100.89 per month for 12 months and not the $90.89 per month. I disagreed and informed her that these kinds of practices to retain customers was at the very least unprofessional and deceiving and at most possibly an illegal practice similar to a bait and switch. When I had originally spoke with Sarah, I informed her that the monthly cost was getting too expensive and that I was going to another company and that I had it all set to activate unless there was something possibly that the dish network could do to retain my business and loyalty. That is when Sarah came up with the $90.89 per month and I subsequently agreed and cancelled my other service line up with another company. I believe that dish network should adhere to what was agreed to on Nov 30, 2021, we all know if the roles were reversed the company would want to in fact hold me accountable to any agreement or contract, I make with them.

Fraud
Fraud lying and cheating me out of my money Food network challenge extreme holiday cakes saying its new the people look like 15 years ago and the show I've seen 10-15 years ago and you lied saying its new what do think that your customers are stupid and ignorant I mean come on now what is wrong with you people ! So many new shows from English speaking countrys I know America has no new ideas so quit lying and look other places instead of not doing your job we pay a lot of money for you to entertain us and all you can find is 15 year old shows no wonder America so far behind and you prove it everyday! now i have no trust in dish network your a scam just like other corporations lets rip people off and they won't say anything what sick society we live in!
You’re not paying Dish a penny to entertain you as they do not own the content. You’re paying them for access to the content. They do not decide what is on or when, nor do they decide what is new or not new. All of that information comes from the content/channel owner. So to sum up, yes, you may be the stupid one.
early termination fee
acc#[protected] had 24mo.agreement been customer 36mo. have 3 tv one stopped working called they came and replaced a bad joey. some mo. later called to cancel service they say I have 4 tv been charging me for that. I tell them never had 4 tv they agree say will credit account but that a new 24mo. agreement started then say I owe 360$ early termination my contact info [protected]@outlook.com telephone # [protected]
Desired outcome: no charge
$300 giftcard
Received a $300 Mastercard gift card from dish. On the front of the card, it clearly reads Debit, and the cash register payment pad requires a PIN. I called card services using the phone number on the back of the card. She said the card was active and just tell the cashier to run it as a credit card, as there is no PIN associated with teh card. Can't do that as after you swipe the card it ask for a PIN.
Nice scam, send out a "DEBIT" card and not assign a PIN.
Desired outcome: $300
If you hit the red X, it actually runs a credit transaction…. That’s how those prepaid cards work…
Promise to lower bill
I have been with dish network for almost 10 yrs now & was fixing to end my dish service & was lied to for the last time...was told that i would NOT be charged for the hopper upgrade or rental fee, & if i renewed my contract for another 2 yrs..well I am SICK OF BEING LIED TO
Desired outcome: For Dish to quit lying to people
Unauthorized credit card charges, unethical behavior

Dish Management should be ashamed to take advantage of elderly customers like me and Phil who have been Dish customers for 22 years!
Here's what you did: For the last 3 months, you increased our monthly bill from $89.00 to $112.00 by charging us for Dish protection services that we don't need and didn't authorize.
Here's how you managed to do this:
You added $9.99 for Dish Protect Silver for 11/17-12/16 and prorated Dish Protect Silver from 10/13 for 35 days for $11.31. We weren't consulted or notified. If we had been, we wouldn't have agreed to these added charges.
We are old and not in good health. I guess you figured we wouldn't bother to check our
Autopay credit card purchases.
But I did.
I am deeply disappointed in Dish management's practices. At the very least, your company's behavior is unconscionable, unethical and discriminatory. Twenty years ago, you were a top-notch company. In the last few years, you have relied on your monopoly position to protect you from being accountable to the public who subscribe to your services.
I spent about 20 minutes on the phone this morning with a very thoughtful and competent Dish customer representative who resolved my billing issues. I will try to find out his name to enable Dish management to properly reward him for his time, help, resourcefulness and courtesy.
Desired outcome: apology from Dish Management , refund excess charges, cease fraudulent practices
Local channel availability issue
I have been without NBC for sometime. I also do not have the CW. I am essentially paying $12 per month for the two locals that I do get. I live In a rural area where I cannot pick up local stations all the time on an air antenna so I rely on my tv provider. Had I realized Dish has such an issue maintaining channels, I would not have changed from my other provider of 20 years. I was enticed by the lower price and the appearance of having the channels I wanted available. The end of my contract cannot come soon enough. I am royally upset. Based on all of the news articles I have read, DISH doesn't seem to be in a hurry to rectify the situation. No response when you complain, other than they are working on it. How hard?
Desired outcome: NBC & CW restored
Dish sucks . Bunch of thieves . Charlie is an unarmed robber .
Lying and constant repeats
I'm disappointed in dish I pay for entertainment and you lied about shows being new and constant repeats that are so old its wasting my money! He's into sports so I'm not canceling the advertising during my shows is annoying you don't do it during sports because you would be canceled quick! I don't know who tells you your customers love to be cheated out of the money they pay you I know Kansas is backwards 70 years behind the old world and modern world ! So I hope you start listening to your customers and not the people who don't understand customers wanting new updated shows and quit lying!
Desired outcome: Change for the better not profits and lies
Payment not received, stopped emailing invoices
mailed on 10/19/21, my check and invoice due date 11/01/21. on 11/20/21 called my bank to see if dish had received and credited my account. the bank had no record of transaction. 11/20/21 called dish to inquire and was told that I now owed two payments plus a $10.00 late fee. i advised them that I had not received an invoice for november so the idea of a lost in the mail no longer was on my mind. if they are no longer receiving or mailing out invoices then it could be a deliberate attempt for me pay electronically. resolution: I paid a double payment by credit card minus a late fee. then called my bank and stopped payment on october check that cost me $35.00 to do so. Now I have absolutly no confidence of what dish network will do next!
Desired outcome: Send my bill by USPS and Credit my account for the $35.00 I'm out.
Fox network
I am tired of not having the Fox network in my channels. I am paying for this channel and you are not providing it! It is not my job to negotiate with you or the network. That is your obligation. If this channel is not available in the near future I am going to switch to Direct Tv.
$300 prepaid card promo
When we signed up for service in 2020 we had received a flyer for a $300 prepaid card. We mentioned it when setting up service, but never received it. I called in Nov 2020 and they said we would receive a call back in 3-5 business days. I never received a call. I called back in Dec 2020 and was told we would receive the card in 6-8 weeks. I never received the card, so I called back. At that point, they said they weren't able to issue the card. After fighting, the solution they came up with was to give me a one time credit of $120, then break up the rest into $10 monthly credits. I was hesitant, but it seemed that was the only way to get the money. Fast forward to today, Nov 2021, and due to certain circumstances we need to end our contract early. When calling to cancel, I simply asked for the amount of the remaining $10 credits to be deducted from the amount we owe to terminate the contract. After being transferred to 2 additional representatives, I am currently awaiting a call from another representative. The last person I talked to basically told me it was a lost cause.
Desired outcome: Credit/refund of the remaining amount I was due from the promo.
Service
If there were 0 stars that is what I would be giving. Stay away from DISH. They promise you channels to get you to sign a contract and then they take them away and are unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation. Worse company ever. I signed up for ABC and they said they are negotiating with the channel, which means DISH will not pay. This has been going on for months. I let them know I wanted out because this is not what I signed up for. They said to read the contract because they don't promise any of the channels you sign up for. You are just signing a contract for two years to get the channels they choose to put on and nothing is guaranteed. I asked if this is on their site and they said no, only on the contract. They are very deceiving.
Desired outcome: Out of contract without a fee.
Doesn't work
I have been a customer of dish for more than 15 years. I pay more than 100.00 per month. A new customer get's it for 70.00 a month. I feel like loyal customers should deserve a break too.
That being said, a couple months ago I started having trouble so I set up a tech to fix it. He said my box was bad and replaced it with a new type box.
Before the day was up I was having trouble with the new box. Unplug the box
Wait and plug it back in, and wait for it to reboot... Still doesn't work. This happens every day and it's getting old. When I call to get it looked at they want to charge me to fix it. That is bs, I pay big bucks for your service and it doesn't work you guy's should fix it. It is not my fault that your equipment sucks. So after 15+ years of paying top dollar for your service i'm going to have to shop for a new service, and that also sucks. I would rather not have to. Maybe cancel and start over, at least it would save me around 30 bucks.
Desired outcome: Fix service where it works. Fix price where I don't feel like I'm being ripped off.
👍🏻
Programming.
My bill has remained constant while your programming has gotten smaller. I'm giving you a short notice to fix this as you are not holding up your end of the contract. We are huge Washington capital hockey fans and are very frustrated that you just stopped the programming. I hate to change back to direct tv but unless something changes quick that is my plan.
Very frustrating.

Desired outcome: Add the programming back

Fraudulent billing indeed! I am tired of calling DISH (have spent hours) to get this resolved. Each time I have to explain the situation and go through their routines of checking every TV for parental locks, changing the credit on my account to $0 so nothing gets ordered, etc. ALL so that the next month I get hit with another event on my bill. Representatives are all incompetent! I have paid over $200 over the past several months of unauthorized sporting events that I (OR ANYONE ELSE) in my household has ordered. This is what DISH does to RIP OFF their customers. Yep, canceling with them and making sure I tell EVERYONE not to sign on to this company!
