not pricing their items is wrong.
Dollarama is not a dollarstore anymore. They are not pricing a lot of their items. Customers can assume they are a dollar because if there is no price it is consder a dollar. Recently i went to buy markers. 3 packs. Couldn't find price anywhere. Asked instore employee to find price. He said if they weten't marked they were a dollar. I went to cashier for a price scan. They were 3:50 a pack. I notice this on food items also. The Dollar-scama should be completely transparent about there product prices. They want you at the cash buying stuff you think is a dollar. They should no longer be allow to call themselves DOLLARAMA.False advertising right in the name.
oven mitts
I bought 2 oven mitts at dollarama.
I used them to take out a tray in the oven and was shocked to see that the exterior part was burnt right off and the white interior was stuck to the tray I removed from the oven.
I could not believe it! Had I held the tray just a bit longer, I would have burnt my fingers!
I can send a picture of the burnt mitt if needed. These mitts must not be sold! They are defective and do not work!
bad service
We were at dollarama at 7601 Weston Rd in Vaughan, ON on July 7th. A cashier was so slow scanning our items plus she didn't know how the machine works. Transaction wasn't transferred to the terminal (we could tell it's still showing "welcome" instead of Tota amount but she kept making us inserting/swiping my card over 15 times. We insisted to call for a manager but she refused and we wasted 20 mins or so. When the manager finally came, the machine for rebooted and we could finally make payment and leave. For the entire time, they never said a word "sorry". It's surprising that such a big franchise doesn't train its employer with basic customer service.
store manager yelling at my kid without apologize
I went to the store to buy something with my friend and 2 kids. The kids beside us and play with them self generally but of course they made some sound. All of sudden one of the lady came stand about 5m away and yelling at my kids. Saying" If you not keep quite now, you 2 will be out side the store and waiting your parents by youself"
First, She never come and talk to us regarding this issue, but she decided yelling at my kids and threaten them. My daughter was getting scare and crying out of the control. I went to talk to her and ask her to give my daughter apologize, I told her that she should come an talk to me if she thinking that is an issue. She refuse it and she said she is the store management and she like to do it on this way then she just walk away. My daughter is only 4 years old and I do not think so that she have to take this. This store is totally not a kids friendly.
Second, if me and my friend talk louder voice, is it that means we also get yell. I am strongly feeling that she was on purpose to do this on my kids.
Third, I am the customer and we came here to buy item. No matter not, we should get better treat.
I would like someone can take care of this issue. I don't know how many others ppl get the same treat from her.
I am at 10560 king George Blvd, unit 2 Surrey around 13:10 July 7, 2018
product labeling and customer service
I was at 101 Clair Rd E, Pergola Commons, Guelph, ON N1L 0J7 today and I recieve Very bad customer service, employees doesn't know how to talk to customers. I bought a cleaning product which was not having any label on it nor on the stack and I believe that the unlabel product Is for $1. After I paid i realized that they charge me $3. When I have a conversation regarding the same she replied saying that is not her fault and we can come back tomorrow to replace as they were about to closed. When my husband gave her suggestion to label the product she rudely told that I wanna lock the door. I never been treat in such a way in anyother store visit and I have been often visit this store as it Is closed by my place.
cashier intentionally dropped item after scanning
Date of incident: May 28, 2018 @ 19:36
My son noticed that the cashier scanned an item, dropped it without putting it in the bag. She looked and continued scanning. I exited the store and threw my receipt in the garbage bin. My son went through all items in the car we knew that the item she dropped was a toilet beach tablet. I returned to the garbage and picked my receipt and went inside and sure enough she just grabbed it from a bin behind her. This was done intentionally. If my son noticed it, then she's been doing this all along
No it was definitely on purpose. I was so angry at this point that I slapped my son across the face. She kept arguing with me and saying that it was an accident. My son had already known that she dropped the item. I was so angry that she was lying and denied doing it on purpose that I slapped my son across the face and told him he is stupid and I wish he were never born. That I was ashamed to be his mother. I was not allowed to leave the store. It turns out that she called CPS and they want to interview me. They may take my son from me. But it was his own fault he got hit. He should have told me that she dropped the toilet bleach tablet before I threw the receipt out.
I am sure that it was an accident. Get over it.
employee at store 357 — jackson square hamilton, ont
I shop at the Jackson Square Dollarama several times a week and I spend hundreds of dollars a month in that store. Today I had a confrontation with two employees at that store. I don't know their names because they wouldn't tell me. I ride a scooter as many, many people do in downtown Hamilton. I was trying o round a corner at the back of the store and go down the next aisle. The turn became congested with me on my scooter, a person with a walker, and somebody with a shopping cart. There was an empty stock trolley in the way and needed to be moved down about 6 inches to clear the jam. I asked the girl if she could move it down a little so I could clear the corner and she immediately had a bad attitude with me complaining that I was stopping her from doing her job. I said "excuse me" and she again replied that I was telling her not to do her job. Another female employee all of a sudden came over and started arguing about the situation with me when she wasn't there and didn't see what happened. She also told me that there are a lot of different Dollaramas that I can go shop at. Both of them very rude and very disrespectful. The first girl, (the one that I asked to move the cart) has been rude to me before on more than one occasion. Nobody likes the fact that there is congestion in the store, but I think that it would help if when they are finished unpacking the trollies they would remove them from the aisles instead of leaving them there piled up with empty folded boxes. The trolley takes up half of the aisle and people cannot pass in both directions. Why are all of these empty boxes ALWAYS blocking the aisles. If they're empty get rid of them. I wish I knew the names of the girls, but I don't. The assistant manager, Carrie, knows and said she would talk to the manager about it on Tuesday. I am also going to phone him on Tuesday. I was so upset by the way that I was treated by both of these girls that I left the items that I was going to purchase and left the store fighting back tears. Maybe they have something against people with disabilities. That's certainly the way they made me feel. It was a horrible scene and the way I was treated was so humiliating. The employees at that store are always having to move things so people can get by and they always do and don't have a problem with it except for this girl. I really think she hates her job because she has always been rude to me every time I have dealt with her. I don't think that she should have a job where she works with the public. My phone number is [protected]. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you have any questions please feel free to phone me. Monika Manoryk
customer service
Went to buy stuff from this store tonight may 15th @8:30. The cashier dealt with the customer in front very badly. The cashier had British accent . She was given US dollars but didn't do the transaction properly . She was rude and refused to help the customer denying to pay back correct change. When customer asked for his money back and decided not to buy the stuff she refused to give his USD back says by she can't refund and rudely asked the customer to leave the store and never return back. The manager totally ignored the situation And left the store ending her shift. Very disappointing to see such customer service.there were 6 customer waiting in line to be served .

no exchange and return policy
I bought highlight pens yesterday at dolloarama in Portage Place, Winnipeg, but there is no color in it. I would like to exchange for some higher price product, but they refuse me. They only allow me to grab the same product. And the employee seems to talk to me rudely. They told me not to do next time. I am so upset. I have never been treated in other stores like Walmart or superstore. Poor customer service and poor quality of products.
the management
I am an employee at dollarama at 1550 upper james street, hamilton, store number 773. Since I started in september of 2017 the assistant manager has belittled me in front of customers and has talked down to me many many times.
I was injured at work and since that happened, the manager (vicki mari) and assistant manager (kelly chappell) have been treating me like garbage. Through wsib I had signed a paper that said if I need to sit down for two or three minutes because of my back injury, I am able to do so. However, I never had the choice to sit down because they stuck me on cash all the time for my whole shift! They also do not allow water at the front cash and I am a diabetic! I need go drink plenty of water with my medication. They don't help me when I need it, I suffer from migraines and my manager was mocking me.
There is constant favouritism, bullying and discrimination going on from management. I wore a sweater that said new york on it and I got in trouble, and my manager said that we couldn't wear anything that was branding a product or place... However the assistant manager wore shirt with the superman symbol on it several times, and never got in trouble. When I was doing the overnight shift for halloween, I cut my finger and when I told my assistant manager she shrugged and said I don't know what you want me to do about it.
Both my manager and assistant manager talk down to the employees and give them tons of attitude and disrespect period extremely unnecessary. They have even made them cry! This is something that has been going on in many locations and this one is especially the worst!
electra headphones
I purchased an electra headphones from Dollarama at Shoppers world in Brampton, as per the cashier it is store number 204. I took the headphones out of the package and tossed out the packaging along with the receipt but never tested the headphones. The next day, I had an unfortunate accident and tripped down the stairs. During this time the headphones were sitting on the coffee table. I didn't have a need for it so I never used them.
When I had to go to the hospital again for a check up to get me arm and the cast that my arm is in examined, I took the headphones with me. Once I found out that the wait time will be long, I pulled out the headphones and wanted to use them but after plugging them into my android phone followed by plugging it into a tablet, and they did not work. I figured I will just head over to the store and get the exchanged for a set that will work.
On my way to school, I stopped over at the Dollarama and asked if I can talk to a manager and explain what had happened so I can get the headphones exchanged.
This is where my ordeal continued when I spoke to the assistant manager. The lady I spoke to asked for a receipt and I told her what happened, she did not even acknowledge and kept asking for a receipt. It was as if she did not understand what had occurred. She even added that I could have bought them at another store (when the only place Electra headphones are sold is at Dollarama) - She was EXTREMELY RUDE! She proceeded by saying if I don't like what she was saying, go and complain online. This frustrated me to a very great degree. I asked her for the store number that I was at and her name… she declined to give me any information saying she won't give me her name or store number…she even wouldn't give me her employee number. She proceeded to walk quickly to the back room and close the door.
I went to the cashier and asked the cashier that if that was the assistant manager, I would like to speak with the manager. I waited for a bit and I saw the assistant manager walk out of the store avoiding eye contact with me. I was then informed that Lyn, the manager was on the phone with her boss (I am assuming a district manager) and she would probably be a little while.
The cashier gave me the store number and this has prompted me to write you.
Description of the assistant manager that was very rude and not customer service oriented is; she is an Asian lady with short hair and glasses; refused to give me any information about herself.
To review
1. I bought non-working headphones from Dollarama.
2. Tossed out the packaging and receipt.
3. Tripped downstairs braking my wrist.
4. Was treated extremely rudely by the assistant manager who was not helpful whatsoever.
5. Wasted a lot of time waiting around just to be told that the store manager was on the phone (with her boss) and could not talk to me. (I understand that this is no fault of the manager).
6. I paid for an item that I cannot use and the assistant manager was rude when I was trying to get a proper resolution.
In conclusion, I just want what I have paid for. It feels as if I was robbed. I am writing this from the air as I am headed to Calgary for a visit and I would like this resolved ASAP. Also, due to the non-working headphones, I really cannot to anything on this flight except to write this letter to you.
Thank you, I look forward to your response.

cheese crackers (biskwi) 6 pack box
I have bought this product before, you get 6 packages per box for $1.00
Someone from dollarama took all the wrappers off of the boxes and is charging $1.00 per pack.
Ive been shopping there longer than most of the workers and even managers have been there... The staff turnover is high... Anyways... The cashier tells me the cracekrs are $1.00 I tellher... Its $1.00 for the box and then she starts yelling at me. The manager comes over.. Tells me.. The pack of crackers is $1.00 I told her, right on the box it says $1.00 if there is a barcode that verifies its #1.00 but the cashiers are scanning per package.. Whic comes at $1.00.
Manager tells me she's sorry.. I'm right.. But no apology from the cashier who gave me [censor]...
And
How is dollarama going to re-pay every single customer who paid $1.00 per pack of cheese crackers when they should have been getting 6 packs for a $1.00
The person who took all the wrapping off of each box of crackers should be re-traiend. And the manager... Dam... Even she didnt know until I told her the right cost... She said she will fix it but dollarama needs to re0-imburse everyone who paid to much for those dam crackers.
manager harassment
The manager at dollarama in cedarbrae mall was threatening an employee saying she is not going to give her a good review. Also she was making fun of the workers lifestyle and family. In no way should this be acceptable in a work environment to talk about ones family and threaten and employee to write a bad review because the manager does not want the employee to succeed.
racial and discrimination
Friday the 24th around 4:00pm, My sister, two teens and I, was excited to see a bigger Dollarama on the South End as we drove my elderly father to Pevry Mart, So I told my father that we are going shopping at Dollarama,
Walked in gab our carts, then one of the workers started to follow us are around as we shop, then over the intercom they keep saying security check in each ale we went to, then My sister boys came in and one of the ladies that worked there came grab my nephew said and a rude mean voice your guys have get out, we asked her what for ? did they steal anything? we wanted to talk to the manager, she said that it the manager who wants them out...(in a really mean voice) we keep asking for what? they didn't do anything if so let us know, she didn't give any reason why.
So I told my sister to leave the cart and walk out, we don't want spend any of our money here. the rude Lady said ( WE DONT NEED YOUR MONEY ANY WAYS) I told her she rude and being racial...It was so embarrassing for that to happened to us.
I well not ever shop there ever again and well get the media involved
Unfortunately you do not have any proof or evidence that racism occurred. They can technically refuse service to anyone for almost any reason.
bowlful chicken flavor instant noodle soup
A month ago I went into Dollarama ST Paul, AB. I spent over 50 buying and getting food and supplies to last me a month. I did this every month. Being on disability, I bought 10 bowls of the chicken flavor instant noodle my favorite. The next day July 27 I made a bowl for myself and tried to eat it. Not only did it taste bad and make me sick. I smelt it and...

I bought 10 bowls of the soup. I did that every two weeks with other items I needed. Not knowing i made a bowl a few nights later and tried to eat it. To my surprise I smelt funny but hey kinda live on farm. I ate 3 or 4 forks full and tasted funny also. Got sick and through it out. Made another one and same thing. It smelt like cleaner, after water was added. I emailed Dollarama and a customer service representative called me and I told her what has happened.
Few weeks later I get an email asking for my address to mail a 10 dollar card.
Not happy and I don't want to buy from them again. Being on disability very small budget, not alot of choices.
Wow what to do
I've bought TONS of these noodles and never had any problems with any of them. I can't have the regular instant noodles because I'm gluten intolerant, so I can't eat the ones made with wheat. These noodles are perfect because they're rice noodles. So I don't know what this Original Poster is talking about. My aunt buys them too and she loves them as well. She also has a gluten intolerance and I never heard her complaining about these noodles. I think the OP is probably looking for a quick payout. Sorry, but that's what I think... Especially since she admits she has a disability and admits she wants to sue. Definitely looking for a quick buck it looks like! I tried both the beef flavour and the chicken flavour and they're both fine...
faulty produce
I purchased 5 USP Tech 1 flash drives at the Dollarama in Glace Bay & paid $3.00 each for the, . I tried loading a few pictures on them & when you go to open the pictures they can not be found. They are not worth the money I paid for them but since I only give them away I thought they would server the purpose for what I needed them for. Very disappointed in this product. I do not have my receipt but hope you can solve this issue.
Cheaply made products that were purchased from a dollar store? I am shocked.
manager's behaviour
Between personal and business, I have spent an average of $85/month at this location for the past 5 years (since moving into this area). Last night, I was at this location with my husband, two daughters (16 and 14) and my younger daughter's friend. The girls came to the aisle I was in to inform me they had been "kicked out" of the store. I asked why and they said they thought it was because they had tested a ball and then it had bounced several times as they tried to put it back on the shelf. The two younger girls left; the elder girl said she didn't think she had been included because she had been down the aisle from the others and hadn't even seen what had happened. She went to the checkout to apologize on behalf of the other girls (they are very responsible and reliable people), where the manager, instead of listening to what she had to say, insisted she leave the store. Her tone was so awful I got drawn in and a rather unpleasant scene developed, in which she ascribed actions to the younger girls that were utterly out of character for them. I went out to the van to ask them what had happened, and after they recounted a similar story to the one they'd told me in the store, I asked them about the actions the manager had described. They were bewildered - they hadn't spent time in the aisle the manager claimed, an account backed up by my husband, who had been trying to interest them in the Hallowe'en products. When I spoke to a person at work today, she said that that was not the first story she'd heard about the manager at this location. I had been warned about this store early this year through a youth organization for which I am an adviser: specifically, that it was a youth-unfriendly store, to the extent of posting notices that high school students were not welcome during specific hours. Representatives from the organization had plans to visit the manager to discuss the hostility displayed toward teenagers.I understand that young people can be exuberant and noisy, even occasionally destructive. I understand a manager is responsible for the store. And I am sure the training budget for staff is minimal. But the manager is also an ambassador for the store, and this ambassador displayed nothing but sarcasm, bullying and ill-will in every exchange she had with my family and with me. I am much more accustomed to writing letters of praise for good service (in fact, I wrote one yesterday) and to complimenting staff through their managers whenever I see exceptional service. In twenty years, I have probably written two letters of complaint. But in my 10+years of training customer care staff, I have NEVER seen such a passive-aggressive approach to customers. I have never seen a manager tell customers, particularly young customers (who, let's face it, have years and years of purchase power ahead of them) to leave with no warning. And I have rarely seen such poor conflict resolution skills. My girls were stunned by their treatment. They were fully prepared to apologize for being disruptive, even though in their view it had been the result of an accident. They certainly did not take items down and throw them on the floor, as the manager charged. This would indeed have been utterly out of character for any of these girls. As a result of the treatment of my family and me yesterday, I will be taking the following actions:a) as I told the manager, I will not be returning to this store. There are plenty of valid alternatives.b) I will be relating my experience to those in the various youth organizations in which I am a member, adviser or participant.c) I will also be raising awareness of the store manager's attitudes and behaviour to my professional and personal networks.d) I will be writing to local media, to which I currently contribute a monthly column.I suggest an immediate performance observation and review for this manager. She is not doing this location any good with the behaviour she displayed. Worse, when I attempted to register this complaint with the Dollarama website, I got an error message and it wouldn't accept the complaint.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Thank you for sharing your experience with your daughters being kicked out of the store in Hanover, Ontario. There are so many places to spend one's money these days that it's easy to avoid places and people with a bad reputation. I will take my business elsewhere too, simply because of your complaint. It's obviously genuine and the manager's reaction was rude and extreme. Dollarama may have to learn the hard way that customers matter or else they can go the way of Sears and all the rest of the struggling retailers. Customers matter and we have a voice.
The manager and staff at the Hanover store have been fantastic, so much so that I drive from Owen Sound to shop at the location. Maybe you have too much truas in your youth and slander is something that may result in you being sued.
1 gb tech 1 flash drive
After buying 2 Tech 1 flash drive for $3 each at Dollarama, I tried to load them on 2 different computers. As the package states 1gb capacity at 2-4 mb/sec write speed and 9-12 mb/sec, I expected a reasonable load speed...but after 2 hours++ write time I was of course a little choked! When I tried to read, I was given a corrupt data warning. I have brought...

I purchased a laser pen there and it did not work right out of the package. The store wouldn't let me return or exchange it due to their unfair policy. I understand it's only a buck or two, but still, how they operate their business is literally through "stealing" and "collecting" these little changes from everywhere. I wonder how much money they are...
