Don Wheaton Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Ltd is the absolute worst place for body repairs, warranty coverage, and customer service. I had to pay for my truck to be painted at their shop, and it turned out to be a complete disaster. After sitting in my heated garage for just two years, the paint started bubbling and rusting in the exact areas they had worked on. Can you believe it? They refuse to provide any sort of paint warranty, but instead, they generously offered me a discount to have the whole thing redone. Can you imagine?

I arrived on time, got to test drive, and when I came back 20 minutes later, they made me think the car was sold while I was gone. The *** came and told me the car was sold online 4 days ago. Then they tried hard to make me buy a different car that was $10k more than my budget. They had to know the car was sold when I got there. This is really bad customer service and a sneaky way to sell a car.

Long Story: We went to check out a car we saw on Auto Trader at Don Wheaton Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Ltd. My wife and I made it clear to the salesperson that we didn't want to waste anyone's time. We test drove the car and really liked it. We sat down and they wrote an offer, we countered, they came back with a different offer, and then we left because it was closing time (they had our credit card to show we were serious). I wrote down that I was willing to buy the car for $41,000, but they wanted $41,500 with their financing or $42,250 if I paid cash. I told them we wouldn't use their financing because my bank had a better rate. The next morning, I texted the salesperson to put the car on hold and offered my credit card. I took the day off work, talked to my bank, and got insurance lined up. Then I contacted the dealership about the deal. We were only a couple hundred dollars apart when I got a text saying they would only accept financing, not cash. They claimed someone else interfered and demanded a financed deal. I found this ridiculous because I've never heard of not being able to pay in cash. The next day, I still hadn't talked to the salesperson, so I called the manager and explained the situation. Turns out the salesperson hadn't been at work because he was sick, and the manager had no idea about the cash deal. The manager agreed to accept cash, but things didn't go smoothly from there. The salesperson started texting again, saying $42,000 would "probably" get the deal done. I called the manager back, and he casually informed me that the car I thought was on hold had been sold. They had been talking to me as a backup offer. I was extremely upset with how everything was handled. The manager tried to downplay it as a mistake, but it was more than one mistake. They lied about not accepting cash, took back a written offer, sold a car I thought was on hold, and the salesperson didn't return my call. In these tough economic times, when businesses are desperate for customers, we were just trying to buy a car. The way we were treated made me feel dirty. I'm 50 years old and have never written a negative review before, but this experience was so awful that I had to. Save your money and avoid the circus at Don Wheaton. Thanks to the salesperson and manager for making it such a terrible experience.

Furst thing is they're misleading advertisin'. We been lookin' for a truck for some time, we found an advertisement on *** for the truck we were interested in. They had this truck listed at $36,988, we also found the same truck listed on *** for the same price, and a link from both sendin' us to their web page. On their web page they had the truck listed at a regular price of $39,995, and also Don Wheaton sale price listed at $36,988. We test drove the vehicle, and decided that we would like to purchase it. It had a dent in the right front quarter panel so we offered a less amount to cover part of the repair to have this fixed, we agreed on $35, 750 plus GST. When I told him that we would like to pay cash, the salesperson then informed us that we could not buy it for that price at Cash, if we wanted to purchase it for cash we would have to pay the regular price of $39,995 not the sale price or the price they had listed on both *** and auto trader. If we wanted it at the lesser price we would have to finance through them to get it at the lower price. We felt this was very misleading advertisin'. We did decide to go through with it and finance it with them, as we would just pay off the financing early and only incur a slight amount of interest. When he brought me the paperwork to sign they added on a $799 edition for safety and security. When I inquired what this charge was for he said it was for the platinum security stickers that are put on the the vehicle for crime prevention. As this is not mandatory and is a option for people to purchase I told him we were not interested in that, he informed me that all the vehicles get it and there was nothin' he could do about it. So after more discussion I offered to pay half of that amount and still do the deal. He brought over his *** and a *** said that they would not do that that I had to pay the full amount for this unwanted option they were tryin' to sell us. I left the store tellin' them that we were not interested. I drove approximately 5 minutes from their store and received a phone call and a text from the salesman sayin' that he talked to another *** and they would accept that offer. I returned to the store an hour later to finalize the deal they had the $799.00 scratched off the deal, and $400 handwritten in its place. They then set me up with their finance person to take a deposit and get the paperwork completed. The gentleman doin' the finance puttin' everything in the computer and askin' for a deposit, I gave him my credit card number to give a deposit and he was doin' the paperwork. He told me to return the next day to finalize the paperwork but gave me a hand written copy of the original deal with the salesman. I asked them for a complete copy with all charges on it and found that they left the $799 charge on when I inquired why it had not been dropped to $400 he said it was not up to him that I'd have to go back and talk to the salesman again. I went back and talked to the salesman and he said the only way they would drop it to the $400 was if I purchased an extended warranty plan which varied from $3,000 to $4,000. I asked him why he didn't inform me of this when he told me they accepted my offer and he just shrugged his shoulders. He went back to talk to his *** and they said they would not do it unless I purchased the extended warranty. I told him that is not what he texted me that they had agreed to accept my offer and he said if I didn't by the extended warranty then I would have to pay for this full $799 for this safety security plan that I did not ask for it. So we ended up rippin' up the offer and I did not purchase the vehicle from them. I would advise anybody doin' business with this company to not trust them, as they are really misrepresent their dealings. Your best to try a different dealership. This company is very unscrupulous.

Me and my wife went to this place on July 24th to buy a car. They gave us a paper with a bunch of numbers, but it didn't have a total amount. They also had this thing called "total" MSRP, which made us think it was the full price of the car. We signed the paper and gave them $1,000 as a deposit. But then we realized our mistake and called the salesman for an explanation. He was surprised too because they charged us $5,000 for some services we thought were free. We asked him and his manager to call us back, but they never did. We found out later that the salesman had left the dealership right after we signed the contract. The contract said the car would be delivered in two weeks, but they never contacted us about it. When we asked for a refund, the general manager, ***, said he didn't know what was going on and refused to give us our money back.
