taking away tips from employees
I have worked for dunkin donuts for about 4 years. When I was hired I started at $9.00 an hour plus tips. I am a single mother of two and every cent helps. My tips help pay for my bills every month. Well, as of february 1 we are no longer recieving tips. They have no reasoning as to why they are taking them from us. What we do know is that they are donating...

I went to the drive thru and ordered for large coffee with 4 splendas and 4 creamers on the side and the old (FAT- sorry for the description - she wont give me her name)lady gave me Ice coffee. ANd i told her i didnt order for Ice coffee. SHe told me in an insulting manner that I need to know how to say the order..It was too insulting enough that I need to talk back and say, she needs to listen to the order carefully. SHe talked back again and tried to say insulting words and I asked her name kindly so i can complain to the manager but she shut the window and shove me away. THAT IS VERY VERY RUDE. Anyway, that is probably the main reason why she stays in that position and would most possibly stay in that position, that is, to take orders, FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE..unless you change your attitude.

dirty, long haired, no gloves
I was visiting my local DD for my morning coffee and a very young pregnent girl/lady came from outback. This girl was not only not in a unifrom she was wearing a black shirt that was very small for a person that was as far along as she was. Her hair was pulled back but looked as if she had not washed her hair/body for weeks. Maybe if it had been brushed it would not had looked so bad. I was under the impression that people had to be clean and in the right work clothes to be behind the counter. If for no other reason she girl should have a shirt that atleast fits her.

I hate it when people in the food industry don't groom themselves properly.
dunkin donuts health code not up to par
I purcased a bagel with cream cheese this morning with a large coffee and the woman who makes the coffee was using her arm and hands to wipe the snots that were dripping from her nose. Obviously she was sick.
Omg I was so grossed out I threw out my coffee and food and I will nver go back again.
The supervisor was standing right next to her as well.
I also think that all the dunkin donuts stores on route 99 in wethersfield are diluting there coffee. It just doesnt taste the same anymore. This was the d&d across from mcdonalds.

price discrepancy
I just read a complaint about the dunkin' donuts in smithfield ri and I have had the same exact experience at the dd on rte 146. I order the flatbread combo for $3.99, and every single time they try to charge me $4.72! When I tell them a mistake, invariably they say "that's what the register calculates automatically." then I get charged $4.31, although once they charged me $4.39. If ri sales tax is 7%, shouldn't it be $4.27? I've read several complaints about dd overcharging tax online - from nj to ri - and I wonder how many millions of dollars this company is making by gouging the consumer?
If you think about it, if they make $0.45 off of every flatbread combo they sell, and similar amounts off of other items, each location could be making hundreds of extra dollars a day, right?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Rhode Island used to charge 7% sales tax, but if you buy "prepared food" like at DD or a restaurant then the tax is 8%, so $4.31 is the correct cost including tax.
new dunkin donuts likes to hire under age workers!
This new dunkin donuts in Bridgewater exploits the employees hiring 15 year olds making them work more than 25 hours a week. Also employees do not get paid bi-weekly but whenever the owner feels like it. Someone from Childlabor needs to do some serious investigations and see how the owner treats the employees. They are racist and over-work the employees. This place needs to close down.
where I live the working age is 15
Some states they can do what they please with working kids.

poor customer service/management
I chose to take my son to get a 'Smoothy' after school for getting some really good grades. This Dunking Doughnuts location is relatively new in the area and I had yet to visit it. So, this was my first and last time to this location.
After placing my order, I was told to drive to the window whereupon I waited for over five minutes. No one acknowledged us or took my money. Since my son was looking forward to this treat, I decided to go in instead of leave. I politely told the clerk that I ordered a 'Smoothy.' He told me she was making it. Seconds later, the MANAGER rudely put the 'Smoothy' down in the middle of the counter where I had to reach for it and then she disappeared again to the side where I can't see her. I asked the clerk to speak to the manager and the clerk told me that was her, so obviously it wouldn't have done any good to complain there.
There are too many people needing jobs and willing to do a quality job to have sorry workers as this one employed much less be a manager. What should have been a nice treat for my son and me turned into a frustrating experience because of her ineptness at how to service customers. Why she is the manager is a mystery that will most likely remain unsolved. Hopefully the correct consequence will be solved and carried out-for other customers' sakes.
I am an understanding person. Had this person been new, or young, I probably would have overlooked it, but the fact she is a manager leaves no excuse for this situation. Also, had she just simply handed me the Smoothy politely and thanked me at least, I would have overlooked it. We are all stressed out in today's world. Going to Dunkin Doughnuts should be a smile in our day. I sincerely hope no other customer has to endure this kind of bad service again from this location. I won't because I will not be going back.
Thank you for the opportunity to state this complaint. I hope it helps.

unclean practice
This is a fairly new Dunkin location that I pass on my way to work each morning. Sometimes I stop and get some munchkins, three glazed and three jelly. This morning I received my order, walked outside, and got into my car. Upon opening the bag, I realized that I was given three chocolate munchkins instead of glazed. I turned off my car, went back inside, and explained that I was given the wrong kind. Instead of just leaving the chocolate ones in my bag, and instead of throwing away the chocolate ones that had been outside with me in my car, she took them out of the bag and replaced them in the chocolate munchkin bin! Gross! Now, I am a clean person, and I did not happen to handle the munchkins before returning inside, but anything could have happened to them, and under no circumstance should they be given to another customer! I shall not return to this location.
rude and unprofessional staff
this was happened on the 8th of Nov 2008 between 0100am-0200am i ordered 3 sausage, eggs and cheese sandwich, which the 2 of them will be a meal w/ a tea and a coffee, the female staff who took order didnt even listen to what i said hence has to repeat again ( she made a mistake on the order of 2 costumers before me), when i was about to ask her why i got 2...

denied use of restroom
I arrived at said dunkin donuts at around 7:57. My sister and I went in to order coffee. Two other patrons were in the store waiting. One girls was behind counter, one on the floor sweeping. I decided to use the rest room while waiting to order. It was then I was told by the girl sweeping that someone was in the restroom and that when she exited it would not be available for use as they close it at 8:00. at first I didn't process the whole time issue. I asked to speak to a manager and inquire as to why at just 8:00 I as iwas n the store and ordering but now the bathroom was closed. The manager and franchisee came out . I proceeded to explain what I was told and also explained why I was inthe store. My son, a freshman at college in Manchester was taken to the hospital the night before. I drove up from New York early monday to be with him. He was released from the hospital and resting comfortably in h is dorm. I was now getting back on the road for a 5 hour trip home and wanted a cup of coffee and to use the restroom. He denied my request because he "has his reasons for closing the bathroom at 8:00." So at 8:01 I was back in my car, without cofee or using the restroom, looking for a starbucks! What a way to treat a customer.
I just left the brockton's Dunkin donuts on North main Street in Brockton at 3:15 I was there for an hour I had a drink in the donut and when I get ready to leave I need to use the restroom due to the fact that I also take a diuretic medication and I wasn't going to make it till the next location I asked them if I could use the bathroom and I was refused and yelled at and I explained the thing and I was cursed at and told he wasn't going to lose his job for letting me do you let me use the bathroom I think Dunkin' donuts customers should think about their choices of where to buy their coffee now I will be taking this to a higher authority
I had a similar experience in lower Manhattan in february. The employee told me "no use of bathroom for customers" even though i explained I would buy something to use it (as I had done earlier that day at a Quiznos). I proceeded to bark at the idiot behind the counter, explaining that NYS law requires usable bathrooms in any venue selling food and drinks. They do have the right to refuse the bathroom to non-customers, but come on. They sell COFFEE and don't let you use their bathroom. Rest assured, if finding a bathroom wasn't top priority at the time, i would have made the employee cry.
I also have no idea if that is a management rule or not, and would like to know. What i do know is i have never had a problem being able to use the (always clean, spacious and nicely decorated) bathroom at my local independant coffee house. Which just makes me hate big corporations even more.
rudeness, towards customer
September 26, 2017 I enter the store. I requested to use the bathroom before before submitting my order. Before I had a chance to finished my sentence the assistant manager yells out that it was for customers only. I didn't have an issue with the policy, but it's delivery. I was so appalled, that I initially walked out. Once I returned back to the store, I...

I was very dissatisfied with the selection of donuts at the Dunkin Donuts location that just recently opened up on Transit Rd near Losson Rd. I wanted to buy a dozen donuts and the selection to choose from was terrible. I went into that location at about 3PM on a Sunday. How does the store expect to stay open and sell donuts all day if there is not a good selection to choose from? I was very disappointed with choosing to go to a Dunkin Donuts store versus a Tim Hortons. I do not think I will be back in the future to buy donuts at a Dunkin Donuts store. There was not even a manager on site to talk to about this. Very poor customer service.
This isn't complaint material. This is like complaining that a store sells Pepsi and doesn't sell Coke or complaining that you can't get a piece of pizza at McDonalds. Thread closed.
this happened all the time at the ONLY 24 hour DD in my area, not just on sunday, but coincidentially i noticed that sunday afternoons, you had better like the plain Dunkin, cuz that's about all they have.
rude/disrespectful employees
On the Afternoon of 9/22/08 approximately 1:00pm I took a walk to dunkin donuts on 149th Street close to Morris Avenue.
As I walked through the door through the door their was a very foul Stench of Fesses. I said to the employee NameD MONOARA the Place smelled and she turned to me and Said
"THE SMELL CAME IN THE DOOR WHEN I DID!"
MIND YOU I WAS NOT TRY TO BE FUNNY IT REALLY DID AND MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS AGREED WITH ME.
THE MANAGER OF THE STORE WAS RIGHT THERE AND DID NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THIS WOMEN, APOLOGIZE FOR THE RUDE COMMENT AND TOTALLY DISREGUARDED HOW DISRESPECTFUL IT WAS.
I AM QUITE UPSET ABOUT THAT I HAVE NEVER SMELL A DAY IN MY 35 YEARS.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT MOST OF THESE ESTABLISHMENT ARE BEING RAN BY PEOPLE OF INDIAN DESCENT AND THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY TO THE AFRICAN AMERCIAN COMMUNITY. THIS I MY SECOND ENCOUNTER LIKE THIS AND I WILL NOT LET IT CONTINUE WITH OUT SAYING THAT.
149TH STREET DUNKIN DONUTS I AM ASHAMED OF YOU!
IS IT JUST BECAUSE YOUR IN THE BRONX AND DON'T THINK WE DESERVE THE CORRECT TREATMENT OR IS IT BECAUSE I'M BLACK?
THAT WE CAN BE SPOKE TO IN ANY WAY AND IF SOMETHING ESCALTES WE WIND UP HANDCUFF!
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON EMPLOYEES CUSTOMER DISCIPLINE?

Just had a very rude encounter with the Dunkin’ Donuts MANAGER on Naamans rd. I had ordered a chai latte on their kiosk and some other food. They handed me my food and cleared my order on the board and I got no drink. The whole time the employees were giving my friend and I dirty looks. Finally the drinks came out, which I thanked them for, and was about to leave when I realized it was just a normal latte and not a chai latte. I went back to ask them about it and the MANAGER immediately came out and started yelling at me in front of the entire store saying that I ordered an original and that I have to buy a completely new one if I wanted a chai. Mind you the drinks were completely full. I was very taken aback by him yelling, and told him that I ordered a chai and my friend even backed me up because she was there and saw me press it, but he just yelled even louder. I can understand if I made a mistake but I feel as tho there was no reason for him to yell. He could’ve gone about it a completely different way but he just immediately started yelling. Very rude, everyone there. Probably just gonna stop going to Dunkin cuz every one I’ve gone to they have rude employees.
Just had a very rude employee slam the drive through door shut in my face because i asked for a drink they forgot to hand me! The girl said you drove off and its your fault. She continued to give me a hard time then shut the door. Customer service was horrible! location is at miller road in Lancaster pa. My last visit to this place!
I agree with you. Today i went to a dunkin donuts in linden NJ and let me just say the service was abousolutly TERRIBLE. I can also tell they were just focused on me giving them my money. and when they gave me my change they practically shoved it in my hand! i also think it is rude how the employees talk in their own language because it was pretty ovious they were talking about me. someone should really do something about this for gods sake!
price discrepancy
At first I was happy to have a new D&D enroute to work until the starting crew was replaced with a new slower less efficient crew came. I went in ordered a toasted croissant w/butter the croissant is on the menu board for $1.29, butter is an extra .25 cents plus tax. My receipt said 1 bagel w/spread for 1.99 plus tax, when I pointed this out to the cashier "Jessica" she tells me that the receipt was correct because of tax. Well in CT our tax is 6% and I fail to see how tax could account for the what the cashier keyed in, long story short she and the supervisor defended the transaction blaming the mistake on taxes, I could not afford to be late for work however the incident bothered me all day. Needless to say I will not be stopping there anymore. The order #156966 on 9/8/08 @10:10:35 if any D&D management is reading this complaint.
bait and switch on coupons
Received coupon "buy 7 beverages get 8th free"- requires a punch for every beverage purchased. Store in questions refused to give tow punches for the two large hot coffees i purchased today, 9/7/08. When i questioned manager why they did not punch for the two punches she replied that the owner of franchise told them to give one punch per visit, not per each...

I have been a customer at this establishment for the past 8 months, and have been shown total disrespect by the employees. One in particular, who may know be the manager or supervisor has taken upon himself to make rude comments to me while going through the drive through, waited online inside, has not provided me with my complete order, and has not given me back the full amount of change I am do to receive. The "gentleman" I am speaking of, is tall, African American who was working on the night of 8/31/2008 at the Dunkin Donuts in Hyde park, New York. I feel the company needs to take deceive action in this matter, before they lose any more customer to his rude and in competent behavior, as either a manager or supervisor!
I have gone to DD in Waverly Sq. in Belmont Ma many times but the last 3 0f 4 visits I have left before being served. They understaff the place in the afternoons. This location has the Baskin Robbins in addition to the hot sandwiches etc. The staff is either unaware of the line or doesn't really care. I have not seen a manager or owners around in any of my terrible visits.
They don't understand our language or culture, nor do they wish to. Their children come to work with the women and run all through the store. Cleanliness is not their concern inside or out. When we were there last, only 2 of us there, a child came and asked us to move our car so they could use the parking lot to play ball---we did and never went back. My husband was a 3 or 4 times a day customer--now he goes to McDonalds--and several of his friends he met also changed with him. Coffee is not as good but to be American is worth the sacrifice. Thank you for your consideration.
I live in Southern Virgina, The owner of about 15 stores in the entire state of virginia, is the only person I can speak to: he bought the name and products and has complete say over everything: problem is: he dont know good customer service.
he ony is about making money and treating customers unfairly. Me and him cant speak cause of his actions about 2 years ago, when one of his managers (name robert) chesapeake va store, treated me wrong. yelled and me twice and said I was looking for free food. I have a full time job *32 years and dont need anything for free: my complaint was: the bagel I order was toasted too long, it was hard to bite into. the manager yelled LOUD in front of customers and When I email the owner Mr. Motta, he didnt do nothing himself. I complain over the next year and I lost neighbors over this: they felt I need to move on and Mr Motta brings money into our community. I also spoke wiht Mr Motta about 8 months ago when he opend another store in my neighborhood, he didnt know it was me, I mention about Young guys coming into the store 5am asking for money, (twice) and a sign should be put on the door about that. he said he knew about this and he didnt think a sign would help but he would. 8 months later No sign., I live in a homeless low budget area, This will happen again. The police know but wont do nothing unless Mr. Motta puts sign up. so from 2011- 9/3/2013 Mr. Motta has money money money but he dont care about Me, or others. Or bad products he is selling, I have many stories about bad food and service but as long as he is owner, nothing will be done and Dunkin Donuts cant do nothing cause he owns the name and products. sad but true. But I will keep telling everyone, and I am sure he will hear about it and just maybe he will notice he will lost customers and money. And I do predict one of his store will close very soon. there is very little business at the new store. and most of the time no cars in drive thru and inside store, unless he borrows from his other 19 stores to keep this store open?
I received my first Dunkin Perks "Free Medium size coffee" coupon and decided to use it at a Boston location today. The cashier didn't want to honor the coupon and along with another co-worker tried to convince me that Boston is NOT in Eastern Massachusetts (where the coupon is valid). I don't know if they didn't understand what Eastern meant or they were trying to trick me. They wasted several more minutes with me saying repeatedly that Boston is most definitely in Eastern Massachusetts, until a line started forming and the other customers were backing me up. Only then did I get my Medium coffee.
I agree...I have been trying to find a good dunkin donut ...but all of them seem to hire employees that do speak English but do not understand English...get orders wrong and are not flexible when they have to take a piece of cheese off a sandwich expecially if you bring a doctors note!
I was told that we can't be bothered when we are crowded or anytime for that matter! Who make up this rule?...the Dunkin Donut main office!
Here is my complaint letter to them:
Dunkin Donuts has recently left me extremely unsatisfied for several reasons. I am not one to complain; however, my recent encounters have prompted me to do so. I am an avid drinker of Dunkin Donuts coffee, and I visit a store on a daily basis. Several of my visits have been sub-par due to lack of proper customer service and quality of the product. This letter will include several experiences that have aggravated me enough to take the time to tell you about them. Each of these experiences have occurred at different Dunkin Donuts locations across three states (NY, NJ, and PA).
Last week I ordered an Iced Coffee, and when I took a sip, it was absolutely horrible. It was milky-white, with barely a trace of coffee. When I asked for a new coffee, the employees spoke to each other in a different language and proceeded to pour out some of my Iced Coffee and pour in some hot coffee, making my "new" coffee luke warm and even more disgusting.
In the eyes of the customer, this is horrendous and would lead me to believe that a lot of your customers may decide to visit Starbucks instead of Dunkin Donuts due to Starbucks' commitment to their customers. I recently waited at a Starbucks for a few minutes longer than normal and was presented with a "free coffee" card for my next visit because of their mistake. Dunkin Donuts has NOTHING comparable to this treatment & leaves me with a higher brand loyalty to Starbucks, even though I prefer the taste of Dunkin.
Another example: I recently received a Dunkin Donuts direct mail item listing a .99 cent 16 oz Iced Coffee as well as a .99 cent 16 oz Iced tea with several (probably 20) other coupons listed on the inside of the packet. The .99 cent Iced Coffee & Iced Tea appeared, by the looks of the direct mail piece, to be a PROMOTION-- implying that there was no coupon needed to get the announced price. It claimed all 16 oz drinks of that kind were to be at that price until August 5th with no restrictions listed anywhere on the piece. The inner coupons consisted of .99 cent hot coffees, $1.99 coffee coolattas, etc. When I visited Dunkin Donuts, and ordered my 16oz Iced Coffee, I was charged regular price. When I mentioned the promotion to the employees, they had never heard of it. Since I didn't have the coupon with me, I let it go (even though the direct mail piece DID NOT say to bring in the coupon).
However, the next time I visited Dunkin Donuts, I brought along the piece. Still, the employees were clueless, and I was not given the listed .99 cent price. Though furious, I still paid for my coffee and left. The THIRD time I visited I brought it with me again. This time, I had a larger order (2 iced coffees, a coffee coolata and a regular coffee), and I was using one of the inside coupons. The employee honored my inside coupon for the coffee coolata, but ONCE AGAIN spoke in another language to the other employees and decided that she would not honor the .99 cent price because there was no detachable coupon.
On top of not honoring the promotional price, she REFUSED to give me back my direct mail piece including the 15+ coupons that I still hadn't used. Our interaction was taking place in front of a line of customers, and all of the employees were speaking in a different language to each other and not letting me know what was going on. After about 5 minutes, I said, "never mind" and paid for the coffees FULL PRICE AGAIN. This is absolutely unacceptable. ALL of the experiences I have mentioned have taken place at different locations, making this problem even worse. It is clear that this is not an isolated incident, but a far spread problem with your employees and your customer service training. Regardless of whether the coupon was valid or not, employees should never treat a customer in the way they did in all of my mentioned interactions.
I sincerely hope to hear from you soon as I am sure that I am not alone in feeling this way. Though I enjoy your coffee, your lack of commitment to customers leads me to believe that you do not see them as being anything more than money in the bank, and therefore I will not visit a Dunkin Donuts again, and will encourage others not to either.
lack of product
We went through the drive-through to order some donuts. The worker said they had none at all. We asked for munchkins and again were told that they had none at all. So we had to make do with muffins, which was NOT what we wanted at the time but... So at the window, the worker explainded that due to fuel costs, they were only doing one delivery a day and that it has been an ongoing problem because they were running out of donuts every day. This also blew a big hole in the theory/notion that the donuts are actually baked on site. As if they haven't already passed on the rising cost of fuel to the consumers. Give me a break.
scam and cheating
I would like to make a report about Dunkin Donuts and how mistreat their employees. when started work not very long ago I was hired by Pinky Its ok until she started to yell at me hit me sometimes and embarrass me which cause me to experience self-conscious distress when I would come to work. Jason, you're an idiot, you get treated like crap and do nothing. I was in a dunkin doughnuts yesterday sitting there for 30 minutes, when a pakistani lady comes to me and says no more staying than 20 minutes, when I refused to go, she tried to take away my chair WTF? I didnt give it to her. She said this is my store, my business you are taking place no customer sit down, this no bring me money. Wow. Dunkin doughnuts is a franchise and obviously she didnt give much ### about her customers. It doesnt say anywhere that I have only 20 minutes to stay. Anyway, I called Better Business Bureau and right now in the middle of contacting Dunkin of America or something like that. Oh when I refused to leave, she called the cops that made me leave. I've heard they they get cofee and doughnuts for free from DD and places like 711. I guess they'll kill if needed for a free cofee and a doughnut.
You should have stayed in the drive thru and backed up the line until they got the manager or she gave you her name.
