I am a mother of a beautiful 27 year female that became addicted to Fentanyl. It has been 6 long years. I have watched her in and out of rehabs . Self check out of detox because ,from what I see ,because she is a drug addict they don't want to hear a word. I sat in the room while my daughter told them clearly that she gets violently from suboxone. They stated there is Methadone they could treat with. The following morning ,they talk her into taking suboxone. She became violently ill! I was on the phone listening to her beg for help as she is vomiting. No one will answer a phone . They won't let a family member to sit in the private room for support during detox, she just lays there and suffered! I HEARD FROM MY OWN EARS HER SAY , I DONT WANT TO LEAVE BUT I NEED HELP . I CANT STOP VOMITTING . THEY REFUSED TO GIVE HER ANYTYTHING UNTIL MORNING BECAUSE THE SUBOXONE PUT HER INTO SEVERE WITHDRAWEL! THEY GAVE HER ATIVAN that she puked up and refused to give anything. I heard call and beg for the doctor. The cold male that talked into the microphone was rude and said " he is gone now" " you can't talk to him" ! Really? Now my daughter who begged for some relief has checked out and they give a bus pass.
We wonder why all these adults ,young teens are dying? Something needs to change! I am a nurse and I know patients rights. I will be calling department of health and channel 2 news! You make it impossible for recovery because how you treat the addict! Period. She wanted to get help twice now . She attempted to check in two different facilities with a month wait!
If she dies ,let that be on your shoulders. I have been by her side everytime to watch the frustration because our system failed her!
