This has misleading product information about profiles. They are not the elite intellectuals they suggest. They con you to buy membership then what I viewed was nothing I expected. If I was going to get lower end profiles I would have gone for the free websites.
They scam you for membership then when I cancelled before three days they made excuses that I viewed profiles. Without membership you could not view photos or make conversation.
It is a scam and trick you into thinking you are getting better higher class profiles
charges for account not used and cancelled
I have been charged for subscription that was cancelled on same day as sign up and emailed to cancellation email. I never received a refund, even though I cancelled and never used the service. Then I received another email that I wascharged again. What is going on? this is fraudulent as far as I am concerned'-i would like to get a call about this. Sarah [protected]
access to my subscription
I've signed up for 3 months and 3 days after my subscription is absolutely frozen there's no active whatsoever! I can't access to all or any of my settings as they are not working, (it says error all the time!) And I have no access to see visitors or anything else! I have paid almost £55'00 for a three months subscription and cannt access to basically anything! If you can do anything to my subscription run as the others please do,. if not I'm expecting to have my money back! Thank you.
threatening letter to renew
After paying for a year, I logged on and cancelled the subscription so that auto renewal would not happen, and then also cancelled it with Paypal. I was supposed to get a confirmation email that "conveniently" never arrived: at the time I didn't look out for it assuming it was job done.
Now a month after the renewal date I have received a threatening letter demanding 232 EUR (a years subscription Plus additional charges and interest). ... if I pay through Paypal they want 277 EUR (handling fee)
Unlike some I haven't paid it yet, but not sure what to do now other than contact the police and a solicitor.
Steph commented similar in August ... not sure of outcome?
All I would say is don't sign up with this company as this is how they treat paying customers, nothing more than extortion.
If I end up having to pay, I am hoping they lose many customers from this sort of behavior. Pass on the details of this case
automatic renewal without notification - do not join!!!
The first I knew my renewal was up was when I received an email form elitesingles thanking me for my renewal and they had already taken the £149.50 out of my bank account.
At no point did they email me to warn me that the renewal was coming up and to go online to cancel if I wished to within a certain time period.
According to the unhelpful response from their customer care department, I agreed to automatic renewal when I took up the subscription and I should have noted when it was due for renewal in order to cancel.
Their terms and conditions pages are thick and almost incomprehensible and do not state that there would be no notification of renewal in order to cancel. I asked to speak to someone or get contact details for someone in senior management to take my compliant further but they refused.

complaint about payment but no premium program
On 6/24/17 I paid for the premium service ($107.70). Unfortunately, I was charged twice for this to my PayPal account. PayPal recovered one of the charges, but left one charge of $107.70 as charged. However, the system is not recognizing the remaining payment and has locked me out of my premium service. Please look into this and respond quickly. My Name is Robert Lewis, 1300 Castlebrook Pl., SC, US 29414. My e-mail address is [protected]@hotmail.com.
Thank you In Advance
Just posted complaint. Too soon to post follow up comment
most expensive, matching system does not work
This site is far away from " Elite" as you can get.
I have joined EliteSingles in May 2017, have paid £149.70 for a 6 months premium membership (Unlimited communication & Intelligent matchmaking- as for matches you get what their computer system thinks is suitable. You are not able to search for any matches on your own, no search option what so ever).
This site promised that it has a disproportionate amount of graduate professionals and sophisticated singles, 71% to be precise. Everything about this site would suggest a higher calibre of potential mates, to cut a long story short, (shorter than the 30 mins it took to fill out a multiple choice personality profile before joining).
30 mins of questions asking questions then to be presented with 7 potential matches, none of whom I remotely liked and not in line with what I would look for in a date and to make matters worse you can’t specify what you want, it’s all based on your personality and what their algorithm suggests for you.
I was looking forward to meet sophisticated singles above the average but my matches were carpenters, builders and truck drivers! These matches I was given I would expect to find on match.com .
Once you were presented with totally unsuitable matches you have to wait 24h for the next set of potentials to be emailed to you.
By day 4 they seemed to have run out of men and I was not given any matches at all by then I have cancelled my membership.
To add to their choices they offer you a handful of wildcards each day, but unless you are willing to travel across the country for a date you can also rule these ones out.
I’d give Elite Singles 1 star, it’s not Elite, it’s the most expensive at £69.95 ( 1 month membership Premium light ) and I think totally misleading in its ethos.
elite hidden payment service
I joined Elite singles not so long ago, I'm so angry with Eliete because I can't access anything with out paying, if any one emails me and I click on it it says I have to become a premer member, I want to see who's looked at my page I can't I have to pay to look at emails it's a bit unfair, I can't access who made me a favorite plus if someone really likes my page I can do anything it says look at his profile but I can't it's not that good because it stopes you talking to someone who likes you, I've had a lot of views and I can't access anything, I'm so angry as its its quite steep the fee for this website. Why make the service free to join if your not going to let people use the service to its full potential I'm so angry that I can't see who's liked my page, what's the point because it stops me talking to people, it's not a very good service not being able to access anything and having to pay for something it doesn't make it enjoyable it is steep also there are other hidden charges if you want to upgrade I think it's unfair to people who are looking for love but can't afford to pay that's an extortionate fee that Elite charge, I think you should be able to access who visits your page and if they email you I think Elite is being really sneaky putting a charge on things like that. There neededs to be some sort of change there should not be a charge to view who likes you or to access an email, is there anything that can be done many thanks.

dating site and money laundering
This site is junk. Many incomplete profiles and app that isn't user friendly. Insists on charging over $100 for 3 months. You have 3 days to cancel. Really? The profiles are maybe half "elite" and the rest hill Billy. They claim they use special matching algorithm but I can't see how when the profiles aren't complete. While the company says it's located in Delaware, it appears to have foreign connects. Believe it could be money laundering site. Wish I had dug deeper
Automatic membership renewal - unethical behaviour
EliteSingles, part of the holding company Affinitas GmbH, breaches the South African Consumer Protection Act.
The auto-renewal clause in their T&C's is hidden, members are not contacted to remind of imminent membership expiry and auto-renewal, credit cards are subsequently charged unauthorized with multiple months' membership fees, there are no local South African contact numbers and Customer Support blatantly absconds themselves from breaching the SA CPA.
dating service
They charge R1200.00.
They do not follow your material requisites.
They do not allow you to 'search, ' for prospective partners.
They force onto you their fake 'matches' - all ugly old woman using false photographs and false profiles.
They do not comply with your 'race' restrictions.
They do as they please - if you complain they delete your account and refuse you a refund.
They are run by 2 Mexicans living in Germany.
A complete con - neither a professional dating site, nor a dating site for professionals!

automatic renewals to premium services without agreement
Elite Singles hides their automatic renewal policy within their T&Cs and does not list this term clearly on the membership section like other online dating sites.
I signed up for 3 months and took my membership down the day before my membership was due to finish (26.10.16) only to find I could not cancel it as it was on automatic renewal and I had to give 7 days notice prior to the renewal date.
I wrote to them saying that I did not think their website had enough members locally to me and I wanted to cancel my membership. They wrote back the next day – this was the first customer service reply I had had to any email I had sent them during the 3 months membership – they stated that I could not cancel and another 3 months would be debited from my account, they also said the 14-day cooling off period was void as it started from the beginning of my membership date – not the renewal date.
I would like a refund from Elite Singles.
Could not agree more DO NOT USE THEM. I had several email exchanges with them but got nowhere. Plenty of other more honorable sites available
do not purchase a year
As soon as you purchase a year - and also take it off auto renew they will make excuses immediately to cancel your subscription. This is not a rebuttal company. They are only interested in you as a woman if you are not moral. If you are and you paid for a year they will cancel your account. If you feel like throwing a hundred dollars away, then subscribe. They cater to men looking for superficial meets. Single women beware.
Reputable - not rebuttal - there is no edit feature here to fix a typo or auto correct
renewals to premium services without agreement
I signed up to Elite Singles on a service that costed $30 a month for 6 months, but what wasn't obvious when signing up was that once this 6 months is up Elite Singles take $500 off your credit card and renew you for Premium Membership at $70 a month. Apparently this is in the terms and conditions. When I wrote to complain you get an automated message to say sorry you won't get your money back. I did find an email in my spam folder that gave me two days notice that they would be doing this. Looking at the wording in the terms and conditions it seems unless you cancel your subscription on your first initial sign up period they will automatically charge you regardless. Do not sign up to Elite Singles!
dating website
very upset
In Feb 2016, i joined on a free basis, but when I received lots of messages on my profile I took the plunge and bought 6 months. i checked the small print and clicked 'no' on the automatic renewal.
well I was really disappointed when i realised that my 'messages' were just notifications of other members uploading photographs - in fact, there's no way you even know if they're members or just people trying the free basis. Anyway, the matches I got were very inactive and miles away so I scarcely used the service and thought that was that. but last week, out of the blue they contacted me to say they were taking £239 for a further 6 months. despite emails where I explained i cancelled the auto renew and don't want the service and haven't been using it ( and consider it all a bit of a con anyway) they will not return my money. I can't prove I hit the no to the auto reneal as its their website and they control it. The £239 is considerably more than my original subscription!
this is obviously how they make their money -not through matching people and performing a service but by false promises, marketing and sharp practice. I'm very annoyed at all of this and am looking for ways to pursue my calling and prevent other people being similarly duped. Any suggestions?

unauthorized charging
Elite Singles is the worst dating site out there. They have no USA phone numbers to call to complain and they automatically renew your membership. I actually cancelled my member ship on June 8th. I provided confirmation but they said I didn't cancel until July 6th and they would not refund my money. You can't talk to a live person, only email. They charged 89 dollars for one month and then lie about the cancellation to keep your money.
DO NOT USE! HORRIBLE SITE AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE INTERNET! COMPLETE RIPOFF!
This company has been taking money of my account after i joined monthly. I tried it for one month and switched off any automatic renewal options. Last month i deleted my complete profile and money is still be deducted.
there is no phone line and i have made numerous attempts contact them via their contact form with out any luck.
They are surely doing this to other people as well. That is stealing money out of their accounts when they have the card details of someone.
Do not put your profile on their website. They sold my visa number!
auto renewal!
I was a member of EliteSingles for a while. But I did not like the site and did not want to use it anymore so I did not pay for the membership renewal. But since these guys had my credit card information they just took my money and I got the auto renewal! Contacted them immediately and demanded my money back and they said that it was not possible. They also said that I agreed to renew my subscription, but I never did that! So basically I lost my money!
premium service
Hi there, I have recently received a demand to settle my account with elite singles for £239. I have not used this service for over 7 months and I have not agreed to renew this service, nor have I received any emails telling me they will be taking more money or asking me to renew.
They say this is in the small print of the terms and conditions however surely they cannot just take more money from me without my permission or without sending me a bill? I thought that now to protect customers there was an opt in policy rather than opt out.
As well as this I still don't know how to cancel my account, I have the same issue with match.com which i tried to cancel several times around 7 months ago.
I hope you can help.
Thanks in advance.
Liz
Hi Liz, it sounds like you may have only deactivated your new partner suggestions, but not cancelled your membership. Try logging on (perhaps request a password reset since it's been a while since you last used the account), then go to the settings icon (my account), and cancel the membership from there. After this you can then delete your profile completely. I would assume pretty much the same for match.com. There's a contact form on https://www.elitesingles.co.za/customer-care/contactform or you can send them a fax to +[protected]. I hope this helps.
auto renew
Whilst we accept that some companies have auto renew and it can be a positive thing. It is not good when they hide it from you and take your money with no warning. Auto renew should be a choice, not a small print coded message.
In subsequent conversations pleading with them to work with me they refuse any dealings.
Please do not use this company. They will take your money before offering any decency or good practice.
I also suspect that they were using fake accounts during periods of inactivity, though I cannot prove this.
Poor service, greedy money grabbers and suspected fake accounts. Stay away.

The platform offers a range of search filters that allow members to refine their search based on various criteria, such as age, location, education, and income. This makes it easier for members to find matches that meet their specific preferences and requirements.
EliteSingles also offers a range of communication tools that allow members to interact with each other and get to know each other better.
