Call to San Francisco City Service was Intercepted by Family Savings Club
They wouldn't let me stop the call and transfer me to city garbage can collection service. This afternoon, I called to get the recycles to be picked up. The receptionist transferred me to someone who I thought was from San Francisco Garbage Collection. Instead of recycle collection, he mentioned to compensate me with a $100 gift card for the garbage collector's failed system. I must paid $2.89 one time charge. Because the SF Garbage Collector was not staffed to answer the call, it was transferred to them, he said. I kept asking which answering service I was transferred to. After they received my credit card info, the guy said, "Family Saving". While on the phone, I googled Family Saving. It showed up with the fraud reviews. I hung up the phone and call my bank to block the charge. BE CAREFUL WITH ANSWERING SERVICES!
Desired outcome: Alert fraud activities by Family Saving Club
Call intercepted by Family Savings Club
I dialed the number for Seat Covers Unlimited to ask a question about my order. The person who answered the phone said that Seat Covers Unlimited was having some technical difficulties and they were offering a $100 voucher to compensate for my patience. I said okay and even gave them my credit card number, thinking that it was to verify that I had ordered from them. When he started asking for more information, I said I was not interested and please transfer me to customer service at Seat Covers Unlimited. Every time he put me on hold, there was a recording about some other offer that was free the first month and then cost money after that. I gave up trying to get him to transfer my call and hung up. I called Seat Covers Unlimited again and spoke with a very nice customer service rep who informed me they they had no connection with Family Savings Club.
I cancelled my credit card, but it will take a week to get another one and I'll have to go through the process of updating all my automatic payments, ugh.
The person at Bank of America said she had not heard off calls being intercepted but I swear this is what happened. The number for Seat Covers Unlimited is not even close to the number for Family Savings Club.
I called Family Savings Club and complained about my call being intercepted. She denied that this could happen but I said that I made it clear to the person who answered the phone that I was calling Seat Covers Unlimited and they led me to believe that I had the right number.
When I was looking for a place to report this fraud I came upon this website. I am reporting this here to get the word out, but I am going to look for the legal place to report this crime.
Desired outcome: To get the word out
EXACTLY same thing happened to me when trying to access a firearms wholesaler. After I reloaded the web page, the 800# NEVER showed back up again. Now I have to get a new card too.

Some kind of promotions
I thought I had dialed my credit card company and the recording came up about a $100 reward and to press 1 if interested. I did press 1 because I thought it was my credit card company and I thought that at the end of the other promotions that I had to listen to I would finally get to talk to my credit card company. I was cut off when I asked to be transferred to the department I was calling about. I have not been able to reach these people even though I have tried repeatedly online and by phone. I have no contact information on them or any of the promotional offers that I thought I was getting through my credit card company. How can I stop from being charged for these promotions that I really know nothing about. I have not received any information as to how to cancel these memberships.
Desired outcome: Cancellation of all the fake promotions I thought I was getting through my credit card company.

Vitamins
I called their number 1-800-225-7828 I was supposed to dial 1-800-255-7828... I mistyped the numbers and reached that company and I asked if it was Allstate and they said yes I gave them all my credit card information to track my direct deposit that I was missing from Allstate and they had me record all my information give them my credit card number all the stuff and so that my $100 gift card was on the way as was that for and I said your insurance company referred you for a bonus I said oh okay... This was on 11/26/2020 at 2:00 in the afternoon... After I finish my business with the real Allstate number I told them what happened... and I immediately called family savings club again and was curious what happened and they said oh that were family savings club you got a gift card coming in the mail and you're getting charged $3.86 for a one-time charge for some vitamin and I said what I said I didn't sign up for that this is actually I must type your number and I got you instead of Allstate as you told me you were Allstate and he said we're affiliated with the insurance company.. and I'm still skeptical I still filing this report and I'm going to cancel this card as soon as I get my direct deposit for my settlement and put it in my bank account right away.. n then I will cancel that debit card I don't know how to unsubscribe from that family safe club company and they wouldn't tell me how to do it I just now found their website and filed a complaint there as well...
"walmart family savings club" scam run for it
I received a phone call from a 516 are code number saying I was eligible for a free $1000 gift card redeemable at any major store such as Walmart, Target etc. I could hear somebody's TV in the background. I say I never heard of this club before. He tells me I can Google it. The [censored] tells me I am only responsible for paying the S&H fee of 2 dollars and so many cents --- whereupon I hung up. BS. If Walmart ships my products for free - which weigh 10 to 15 pounds, they aren't going to charge me to mail a promotional gift card. I sign in here and - WHAT SURPRISE - I find a bilion complaints from other unwary consumers --- these jerks get your credit card info and charge away, and you can never get them to stop.
100.00 "free" walmart gift card
Stay away from these crooks!
Was calling to activate a gift card given to me by my employer, and was somehow linked to these crooks.in the after-all, since I did not give them a credit card so that they could "identify me", I was hung up on. I called them back to find out more about them, and to ask why I was hung up on. I was told that they were having some "technical difficulties". I'm sure. After getting the information I sought to identify them, then finding this site, and having read some of the reviews, I found that I was correct in being suspicious about them from the start. Just another scam to shift money from the unsuspecting to the unscrupulously greedy.
I agree, I just had a phone call from Alabama. While I was listening to the au automated message I was hung up on... ok so I decided to call back just to be sure if I could identify if it was a legit deal or some scam. Well when I was talking to the person who answered he said his name was David.. (I'm not being disrespectful or anything like that) but when I am told his name is David and I can barely understand what he is saying from his foreign accent, that throws up red flags for me.. ok even then I talked to them about how I was even put into the drawing for a reward of 100 dollars and he told me that they have my name from using name debit or credit card at their family savings club store affiliate.. ok how is that possible when I never use a debit or credit card.. always cash. That was another red flag.. ok cool so I decided humm might as well play along just long enough for me to google his company and phone number.. glad I did this website is the very first thing I saw. Thank the lord above I had the knowledge to do these, information fact checkers so to speak. It's so upsetting to know that there is alot of people who actually are takin advantage of because they have no idea of what's happening during that phone call. Plz continue to keep these sort of websites up and running because to many good hardworking Americans are being tragically drained financially and many cant recover and lose alot of their personal lifes savings. Take care... Rocky from S.C.
100.00 savings card
I was dialing the number for my local DSHS so that I could do my mid certification review for my food stamps. But it appears that I dialed the wrong number instead a dialing 2233 I ended up dialing 2232. So somebody comes on the line and offers me a $100 gift card for Walmart or target. Naturally I think that it's safe because I'm calling the Department of Health services I didn't believe it was a scam at 1st. While I was still on the phone and they well they said that they would connect me or if we end up getting disconnected they would put me on the call back line. Now I am worried that I will not be able to use my debit card if they call my bank to pay my bills I won't be able to pay my bills if I let the bank know what has happened. Unfortunately I don't think I have another choice because I called back the number and when I told them that I want my information in the name taken off the list they hung up on me.
$100 gift card never received. police say it is a scam!
I never received the promised $100 gift card and got charged twice on my debit card within 3 seconds. Two different amounts totalling over $50! I am on a fixed income and will now, not be able to make it through the month! Please close these scammers down! They have been getting away with this for too long!
They go by the name Family Savings and either call you or send a mailer, saying that you won a gift card for $100.00 to use at Walmart, ect. They say they need your credit card info to charge a small fee to overnight the card. They do not send a card overnight. In a week or so, you get a packet with info on the program which gets you discounts on online purchases. These discounts are available without the membership. If you try to call and cancel the discount you cannot get through to a live agent as you must. They charge your card whatever they want! These scammers have been doing this for a long time and need to be stopped!
scammers
This company has been ripping people off since at least 2013! Why haven't they been locked up by now? They call people up and promise to send a $100 gift card. They say they need to charge the card a few dollars to send the gift card and then they process monthly fees for discounts that you can get for free! They do not send the gift card that the customer has paid to have shipped. Complete fraud! They say they are based on Delaware, probably false they are just criminals who prey on the gullible. I am going to do what I can to try and get them busted! The kicker is that they are also selling fraud protection!
family savings club
I dialed a wrong number, looking for State Farm. The man who answered told me he was affiliated with State Farm, an answering service, and that, due to the long wait, he was giving me a gift card, which isn't unusual. The only thing was payment for shipping, so I gave it to him. Then he proceeded to try to sell me on other things, which I refused. Then he gave me a direct "State Farm" number which took me to Family Savings Club. He lied and misrepresented himself - CRIMINAL - I had to cancel my card. This is a legitimate company that seems like it is guilty of dishonest practices, based on the other reviews. They need to be brought down somehow. I worked phone sales as a young woman and I never lied about myself or what I was selling. This galls me doubly as a former sales person.
Just so you know folks, this is their internal complaint site. The company name on BBB is Family Savings Inc. File your complaints and reviews there for a better reception. Also, call the police, non-emergency number, if illegality is involved in any scam.
incessant unsolicited telemarketing calls
They call from a variety of numbers. The most recent number was 615-610-6936 today monday january 7, 2019 @ 10:30 am.
They call every day. I create a scam folder in my phone every january & this is a frequent caller. Foreign speaking people who hang up if you question anything. Total scam.
I desire them be put out of business and the do not call laws be enforced against these scammers.

new account
Yea, they got a new one now. they linked into my Energy company. Said since there was such a long wait to speak to customer service, I could get a savings discount card. Yea, fell for it, been trying to call to login, couldn't remember where I put my password. Cant get anyone on the phone, no one online, even though on their page it states 24/7. Haven't noticed unwelcome charges on my card, but I also have a prepaid, so if the $$ isn't there, they can't charge. But still. I don't usually get scammed like this, I thought this one was legit due to it being linked to my Energy company. Never again.
your main service
11/28/18
I haven't had this bad of service in years. I opted to try a service where you are given $100.00 in coupons and they told me they would mail me a debit gift card with $100.00 on it 3-4 times, and the manager confirmed it. I was triple charged for 2.98 and no debit card was ever sent. When I called in I was able to cancel then they just hung up on me.
I would like 1 star reviews on all of their social media / advertising to let others know not to fall for their lies, and reported for business fraud and stealing (the 2 extra unapproved charges).
savings club $100.00 card
SCAM! Don't fall for it! Person had a very heavy accent and could barely speak English. They want your name and credit/debit card number to charge you $2.98 for shipping. NO ONE should ever fall for any of these solicited calls, especially when they can't give you any info on the "stuff" they are trying to get you to buy. Just like the IRS and Credit card phone calls that you get. They all are scamming people. WAKE up people! If it is to good to be true...HANG UP! Don't give out any personal information!
will I being getting my $100.00 gift card my name is DOROTHY KNIGHT
100 dollar gift card and unauthorized charges
I was called about a 100 dollar gift card that I never got. It was supposed to be 2.98 to send it and I never got it. I called customer service to cancel it and thought it was over. Until recently I never thought about it. Going thru my account now however shows that for almost a year they've taken 10.97 a month out of my account. I am pissed how do I make this stop. I receive disability and they're taking my money from my govt. card. This is ridiculous. How do I get my money back. I've never received anything that warrants these kinds of charges.
Why do people fall for this! If it is to good to be true, don't FALL FOR IT! Same goes for IRS calls and Credit card companies that claim they can lower your interest rate. They ALL want personal information and want you to give them your credit/debit card number. Be smart, don't give out ANY personal information over the phone, especially when the person on the other end has a very heavy accent. They are all scammers!
kept charging me even I already cancelled it.
They called me to tell me that I will get worth of $100 gift cheque. And they will email me once I finish the process of registration. I did not get any email and the gift cheque. I called them to cancel my subscription but I was so surprised that they kept charging me! Then I call them again and the named Victor said that it was already cancelled last june 15th. But they still charging me! They are full of [censored]! This company is a big time scammer! Don't trust them!

You're so right! These scams rely on people's greed, and people all too easily take their unbelievable bait!
This wouldn't happen if people performed the simplest due diligence before allowing their privacy and finances to be violated. Ask what their company name and/or web address is and check up on it; usually they don't have a website and will hang up, and if you search their name, you'll find a slew of scam alerts. Think long and hard right now about why a company would give a $100 gift card for next to nothing or offer 0% interest on all of your credit cards. What business does business by losing money, without a justifiable return on investment, just because they say you visited a web site or bought something online? What bank would offer 0% interest and make a profit, without changing their terms by adding a huge monthly/annual fee? The former won't be done over the phone, and the latter requires your signature anyway, so stew on that. Plus, I'm told credit card companies won't call you to say, "We don't want to earn any money from you anymore and will provide our services for free." They won't call you just to offer a lower rate (not 0%), either. That would be like taking earnings off the table, and no business would rationally just offer to start losing money.
Unfortunately, there are enough people who fall for these scams to make it a profitable industry in India, Pakistan, the Phillipines, and other Asian countries. You have to think rationally about the veracity of some stranger(usually with a thick accent) offering something too good to be true, don't jump at their ridiculous bait, and don't don't let your greed compromise your privacy and finances!
Also unfortunate is that senior citizens are defrauded in these scams, many who could use the benefits offered, if only they were real; instead they are taken advantage of by offshore, lowlife scam artists. It's a real shame.
requesting baning information

Asap I never ever used Site for anything I want everyone to no do not think your getting anything free cause once you give them your card number they think they can charge you

robocalls to the elderly on the do not call list
Started receiving robo calls from "Lisa" at Family Savings Club. Now Lisa does not provided a company name anytime during her greeting. She just tells you to select opt. 1 to get your free prize. Who is calling?. Select opt 1 in hopes of a human. The human answers, gives you their first name only. They ask for your full name and address to obtain your prize. Still no company name. You have to practically threaten them to find out who is calling. They will finally give out the company name, but was told seriously, that they won't provide a physical address do to AG's finding them. I am not kidding per Michael Flowers at Family Savings Club. I was also told that they do no verifying if a number is on the so called, Do Not Call list. This is from employees mouths. They need to stop!
