Fareway - Disabled customer…employees totally out of touch, insensitive and simply don’t care/want business
I live 3 blocks from Fareway meat and grocery in Beaverdale. I am end stage renal failure on dialysis and have herniated discs in lower back forcing me to use a cane …when even possible. I go up to store to get turkey deli meat every other week. (As it is lean and I can only eat lean meat.. low sodium, etc. due to medical condition). 4 th of July...

Professionalism or lack there of
In currently visiting our local Fareway I and others have seen at the meat counter something posted that is so disgusting and tasteless. The fact that even your local management of this store allows this to be displayed is just as appalling. Your meat department manager has found it funny to mock a candidate that is currently running for sheriff in thi...
Read full review of FarewayFried chicken
Store in omaha Ne 5l0th Harrison location. The staff is awesome however the fried chicken is not as good as it used to be. The breading is different and horrible. it needs to go back to the breading as before because family Fare just lost my business and everyone else I know that enjoyed the fried chicken. I used to brag about how good it was and now it’s the worst chicken in town. Go back to the original recipe because I will not be ordering any fried chicken in the future if it’ stays this way. And I will tell everyone about it. And I know a ton of people.
Desired outcome: Go back to the original recipe
Brat buns
I called to order buns that we were going to use for making sub sandwiches. When I called and talked to the guy, he told me that brat buns work just fine. I said OK I will need 170 dozen buns for Saturday will you be able to make that many, so they are fresh. He told me to call back the next day and talk to the manager so that is what I did. She was a little short with me on the phone, but I didn't think much of it, and she said that they could give me a 10% discount since it was a church group which I thought was nice. Anyway, so we get the bun on Saturday, and they look like bread sticks. Some of the buns were fresh but the others weren't fresh at all. I was so embarrassed and felt really bad for the kids that had sold these subs to people. I could have cried. So, I called Fareway about it. I told the manager about the problem, and he said well that is what a brat bun is. I said then you better train your employees so they can tell someone what bun they should really use. Plus, they should have been honest with me that they couldn't make that many at one time. So, the manager told me that he could send me a $ 100.00 gift card that was all he could do and that he was sorry about it. I wasn't happy at the time, and we had just spent a lot of money there. So, to me the 100 wasn't anything and didn't really help the situation. I learned a lesson the hard way but I will not order buns from fareway again and I will make sure to tell my friends and family about it also.

4th and Grand location WDM
Where to begin? I don't usually shop here. Used to and was generally satisfied, although there were frequently price discrepancies that I became used to dealing with. However, after I moved, Walmart was more convenient. And much cheaper, as I discovered.
But I was in the area yesterday and needed a few groceries so I stopped by. Ended up spending $40 for what would have cost half that at Walmart. Self checkout was confusing and difficult by comparison and the attendant was rude and condescending when I needed assistance.
Got home and realized that the celery I bought was rotten. Was disappointed and threw it away. Not worth a trip back. Next morning, I was unable to open the half gallon of Fareway brand 2 percent milk; the cap was fused and wouldn't budge. Nearly cut myself trying to open it. Sliced through the plastic container trying to pry it off, so now it leaks when I pour it.
In retrospect, these may seem like minor issues, but I won't be going back. Not worth it. Congratulations, Fareway, on losing another longtime customer!
Desired outcome: Informing others to beware of Fareway.
Local paper ads discontinued by Fareway
It appears that Fareway has decided to discontinue its weekly flyers sent out in local newspapers. This is a bad mistake as most people look at this ad and use it to make shopping lists. Without it local shoppers only see the competitors ad. Older Iowan's don't look up ads on-line and thus are no longer reached by Fareway.
Desired outcome: Resume use of local weekly shopper flyer
Hiring process/management
I saw a job opening and just spoke to a man at the store about the job. Informal and nice fellow. I immediately asked about the tatoo behind my ear/back of my neck. I'm well aware of the policies. The man told me it should be ok because it was not vulgar or offensive. Not many even know what it means or that it is a religeous symbol. Later interviewed with store manager. He apparently didn't even notice the tatoo, but he sat directly behind me while I filled out paperwok on the computer. Was told to start a certain day, so I completely shaved off my beard. I was not happy that at all, but it needed done if was to go to work. Got to work early on my first day. I was immediately told by the same store mngr. That he would have to get my tatoo approved by corporate office and was sent home. Didn't even get my coat off. After shaving my beard (which pissed me off), getting laundry washed and pressed, and all things primped and prepped, and this is what happend. Piss poor if you ask me. Still waiting to hear back.
Ads and stock
I was at the Fareway, store number 043 and the new ad came into effect, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 and I went shopping. I ran into many issues. The advertised items were not marked with the sale price, so a customer would know which item was on sale. Nor was sale price ringing up correctly on the register. When asked several associates, none seemed to...

I am a Fareway customer because it is close to the place I live. I am a mother and have three kids, my husband died in an accident 3 years ago, so I'm all alone and every dollar I spend must be accounted for. Recently I went to the store and bought some products. When I came back home I realized that expiry date of milk was over. I went back to the store and wanted to return the milk and asked for an exchange. They refused to help me and told that I can buy another one and that it was not that expensive. I told them that I have three kids and have very limited budget, but they said that it was not their problem. I'm very disappointed.
see above provided information about a recent visit.
