Ideally a refund of $9.99 x 24 months at minimum
I have been attempting to cancel my fax.com account since 2018. I have been charged $9.99 per month and want this to stop. I've sent emails and attempted to call multiple times. Can you help? My account is tied to my email: Terina.[protected]@gmail.com
Per the attached, the first email cancellation request I have is from 7/30/18.
Thank you!
Online fax
Worse service i've ever attempted to use in my life! I attempted to fax somebody several pages long and got a confirmation for 1 page!
I thought I cancelled my subscription and got charged 9.99, when I called to complain about it I was on hold over all for over an hour being transferred back and forth.
They wouldn't refund my charge, and offered me a discount! I didn't want the service!
Once I asked them to look up my account activity that would lead them to believe I actually wanted/used their service, they proceeded to tell me "your account is cancelled we can not view this informations" how convenient! I ended up hanging the up the phone because no one assisted to my frustration, horrible customer service!
Do not use!
Fax subscription
The fax subscription is advertised as a free trial, but they start charging you 9.99 monthly and never send an account statement (even though they have your e-mail address). When I noticed the charge on my credit card, I logged into my account on fax.com and had to use the "help" option to find something on cancelling the subscription. It says you can cancel online, but the only link provided goes to a chat. Then you have to plead with someone (1st one disconnected from me, 2nd person stayed on the chat) to cancel the subscription because they keep trying to talk you out of it.

Can't cancel
Called on 2 different dates and was told their computers were down and to please call back "tomorrow". Once was on a Friday and he said call back in the morning. I asked what time they open and he said in the morning. I asked a few more times and never could nail down a time. Eventually he said 6AM EST. I doubt they're open that early on the weekend especially when the computers are down all week. I eventually called my credit card company and had the charge blocked and they refunded my money there.

Thank you for the above link, now let's see if this cancels my service. The fine young man from India assured me it is canceled, lol
I hope it works for you. They have quite the scam going on!
Rude customer service
Just happened to notice tht I have been paying for a fax service I don't use for the past 19 months. That is my fault, not theirs, but trying to cancel the service was nearly impossible. I was told by Audrey in customer service that if I could not provide the fax number she could not cancel my service and I would have to continue paying every month for a service I have only used once. What rip-off, . How is this considered "customer service"? So I went to their website and clicked on 'forgot user name' and then 'forgot password", and with that information I was able to retrieve the fax number they assigned me. I called Audrey back and she said she couldn'[t cancel the service unless I provided her with the last 4 digits of my credit card number. Then she tried to sell me the same fax service I was trying to cancel for $2.95/ month instead of $9.95/month. Of course I said no. Then she tried to sell me a call forwarding service for $3.95/month. I asked for the cancellation confirmation number and after she gave it to me I hung up. Very annoying and disreputable company. You are better off going down to the local
CVS or Walgreens and paying to send a fax from there.

Illegal billing
I have tried MULTIPLE TIMES to get this account cancelled...it's been a true nightmare. No one answers the phone and you have to go through a chat line to cancel..which, ironically, the servers are always down. The system does not even allow you to discontinue your credit card or change it...HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN! I don't even know what to do anymore. I have documented emails and screenchots of chat sessions and guess I have to go to the bank tomorrow to try and force the stop-pay (if that is even an option). DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO REPORT THESE GUYS?!
I have filed a claim w/ the BBB (Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito)

Fraud
FAX.COM (j2 Global Communications, Inc) advertised "30 Days Free, then just $9.99 a month, That's it!" on their web site. They require a credit card because they say it will be charged if I do not cancel before the 30 days! This is from the confirmation email they sent me...
"300 free pages*, $.12 per-page thereafter.Monthly Fee**: $9.99One-time Setup Fee (if applicable): $9.99 Storage Fee: $.05 per fax, per month for faxes stored longer than 30 days (no charge for faxes stored 30 days or less). To avoid storage fees, set your "Inbound Settings" to automatically delete faxes after 30 days.*Standard international rates will apply for faxes sent outside of the US and Canada. International numbers are billed "Per Minute" in 60-second increments. Our special International rates can be found on our website at http://www.fax.com/international.jsp . These rates are subject to change. **If you selected the annual plan, the monthly fee reflected above will be deducted from your prepaid balance each month on your regular billing date."
I signed up on 09/09/13. On 09/10/13, $19.98 was taken from my checking account. After chatting with their "customer support" online, I was informed that I wasn't eligible for a refund. I told them that I had a screen shot of the offer. They conceded that I would be eligible for a $9.99 refund but that it would have to be "reviewed" first and was "not a confirmation." I told them that would be unacceptable and insisted on a FULL refund. They broke the chat connection after that and actually CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT even though they said I wasn't eligible for a refund! I did not send or receive ANY faxes.
Charged after I canceled service
On 01/20/2011 I signed up for fax by email. On same day my husband said to cancel service since he purchased a new fax machine. I did, I cancelled within hours of signing up. The customer service rep was very nice and assured me that I would not be charged at all, and that I had 30 days incase I changed my mind and thai if changed my mind. After 30 days I would have to signed up all over again.
Today 04/26/2011 I checked my bank account and saw where I was debited for 9.99 by this company. I emailed fax.com several times before my email was acknowledge, then I called [protected]) and on the fifth try I got to speak to a real person! Here is what he said, " this is not my fax.com I am sorry but you are calling a wrong business." But when I told him the # on the website for fax.com is what I was calling and was put through thru to him he said, " I don't know what say, I mean you are calling the wrong company" and hung up. All I want is my money back, 9.99.
These guys have an easy button to cancel but it never works. I ultimately had to call the number and got an overseas operator with a horrible connection and I was ultimately cut off. I got an email from a customer service person finally but then they emailed again that that person was mistaken and I still am a customer and to call in or use their easy online service that is alway unable to assist me.
Canceled account still being charged
I canceled my account more then a year ago and I am still being charged for there service. I called and they said that it is canceled and that they will look into it and still getting charged.

After four month of my cancelation request I realized (by coincidence) that my account was still active and they were still charging me. I called them and showed them the confirmation email that proves that my account was cancelled, guess what the said: Sorry but we don't have any registry of that cancelation?...Whaaaat? So I invented this email? (I thought). Thieves!
Welcome to the club! Guess what? Try to get their ACTUAL location...you can't, either they just lie or they move a lot! So far I've seen they're in Albany, NY, Denver, CO, Los Angles, CA, Hollyowwd, CA...can't pin them them down to sue them.
Bad services
You guys, FAX.COM was bought by EFAX.COM two years ago but I don't know why EFAX.COM would not set guidelines to regulate it. So, if you have any complaints, please ask EFAX.COM for help. I could never understand of why FAX.COM would only have a PO. Box address and they would not answer customers' calls if they want to stay in business. Could it be just a tactic to make EFAX a better company?

FAX.COM is a total rip off. I signed up for a free 1 month trial (March 2010). It was just a week after signing up when I decided to call them and cancel the service. I didn't know that I was getting charged for the next 2 months, after cancellation. When I noticed my bank account charges, I immediately called them and they said that THEY DID NOT RECEIVE MY CANCELLATION REQUEST. They NEVER send EMAILS even when you sign up to them, NEVER will they send you anything at all about your sign up or cancellation, so you won't have any proof AT ALL. BUT HERE'S MORE: when you complain that you didn't get any email pertaining to your sign up or cancellation or refund request: they'll say, we sent it to you on this email address (which is correct), and they'll say "do you want me to resend it to you?" And when you say "yes", STILL NO EMAIL WILL COME. They would never give you a refund of your money. NEVER. I called several times requesting a refund and NEVER NEVER would they give your money back. This is one company that is DESPERATE to get your money. Guys, if you still want to try fax.com with phone number [protected], it will be at your own risk.
Fax services are not working
Beware everyone, FAX.com does not answer the phone when you have issues with fax working or not, and if they do answer, they will route your call to some business in India. I have just paid to use their service, and FAX.com gave me a toll free number to fax and it is supposed to go to my email address. Well, I faxed about fifteen pages to this number, and I did not receive anything. I called back Fax.com, and the call went to sales where they got my credit card information in the first place. However, they said that they only dealt with sales. Then my calls were routed to India, and the representative asked for my assigned fax number. I read her the number, and she said, "Is it an architect company?" I said "no." Then she said "Is it a ski (?) company." I said, "no." Then she asked for the credit card number. I told her that I would call the headquarter in the US again?
When I called the sales department, a guy answered claiming that he is in Hollywood, then he hung up without bothering asking what my problem was. I kept calling and the phone put me on waiting mode, and it hung up after awhile. It is truly bad business practice, and the bottom line is they don't care about us. I hope you see my message to let others beware so they would not have to give or fax pertinent information to the wrong hands.
Perhaps, next time we should only do business with people who has a real address instead of some PO Box number. Life is short, and the people who take the time to go the extra mile should be in business. I am telling you, "They don't care about us..."
Horrible support. They just don't contact you when you submit a support request and there is no phone number or email to contact support directly. My company will be cancelling the service as soon as we are able to.
I really think that anyone who has had a bad experience with this company should collectively get together and file a class action suit against this company. I don't think allowing people to fall victim to this company...stilling your money and not refunding you all of your money is a great disservice to people who are working hard to maintain a respectable way of life...then having thieves hide behind a promise to give good service for a small cost of 9.99..but then charging a 19.95 charge to your card. Then telling you there is a 9.95 set up fee which is non refundable. Attempt to call to speak to someone on the line for excessive wait time and then if you ask for a manager you are told there isn't one available. What a crooked company...Where is the concern for taking care of your customer! Should be put out of business! Seriously>:{{{{{

Illegal billing.
I am still being billed on my credit card months after cancelling. No one answers their phone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are a scam.

I signed up for free fax services which was supposed to be for 1 month bit I cancelled after two weeks and they billed me. Every time I call to speak with someone they hang up the phone. The representative never wants to give his name. The are frauds. Be aware do not use this service.
I have had them for over 5 years, every time i had a problem is pretty much every time i used the service. and never did they resolve the issue or help.
I dont send faxes all that often, but when you need something to count on, fax.com is not the company to go with. Poor service, poor customer service, there are many companies that will do a better job.
I have been trying since December to get rid of this. I only used it once thinking I would be able to end the trial and not have to worry about anything. A couple weeks after I signed up and realized I had no need. I tried cancelling online, nothing, and I even tried every browser I had. Then I called the number. They were rude and said the system was down and to callback tomorrow. Nothing works. I have tried multiple times to cancel, I have e-mailed the service a couple of times and all I get is the e-mail I attached in the photo. I unfortunately fell for it which is hard for me to do because I usually research things to death and I didn't this time. So now I'm losing 10$ a month because of these scam artists. When I received this e-mail and checked it, I saw it was in my spam folder with that notice on it which made me realize to start looking these up. I'm about to contact my bank and see if they'd be able to do something or see how I can report this company. I was thinking of trying the customer service e-mail for these people, but I don't think that would do anything. I hope there's a way we can take these scammers down.
Complete Scam! I called and cancelled the same day I set it up, almost a year later I noticed they are still charging me! They say I didn't cancel, I specifically remember calling on my husbands phone, and cancelling. I'm even able to show on my husbands cell phone statement history that I had made a call to Fax.com one that date. Why else would I call? This is fraud. Please do not give any account info to this company! They will scam you!
I just called and was told to call back tomorrow b/c the system was down. I've been charged $100 for a free trial b/c I didn't notice the charge on my account. I sent an email to customerservice@fax.com. We'll see if I get a response.
I just tried to cancel and was told that I would have to call back because their system is down. I will call back tomorrow and if I can't cancel, I will tell my credit card to stop payments. If the credit card companies know that they are illegally billing people they won't be able to do business anymore.
I've been trying to cancel my account for weeks. First they said I couldn't cancel BC I had an outstanding balance for a month that hasn't happened yet. I paid that now the button to actually cancel won't come up! I've written but no response!
I tried to send a fax today figuring that everything should be smooth since I've been getting billed $9.99 a month for 4 months now. When I logged into the site it said I was suspended pending a payment information update. I checked the credit card on file and it was expired --- how the hell were they taking my money? I talked to a service rep on chat and they told me "It was being directly through your bank". Uh... this seems like some clear violation and plain shady billing practices. They further elaborated " Card is just an instrument, when you authorize a card, you authorize the billing to the account associated with the card. We don't change any card details from our end. It is your bank that processes the payment. Irrespective if your card is active or expired or even when the card number has changed, the payment will still go through if you have authorized the billing. You can contact your bank for more details on this." Again, this doesn't seem in any way legit to me. I won't be doing business with them in the future and would recommend to anyone that they steer clear as well.
I have been a long time recurring, paying customer but that doesn't matter. It seems like my faxes come through, but in the rare occasion that I try to SEND a fax, it seems hit and miss. I have opened cases and I get no call back - only generic emails. When I try to call them I get some generic call center out of Bagladesh or somewhere and no way to reach the REAL office here in the US. I am cancelling, I don't think this is a business you should use.
I can't send faxes please help this is very important to me. My fax number is [protected]
Services do not work and no one answers their phone
The efax service company does not work. Apparently faxmicro.com was purchased by fax.com but there was no notice or bulletin that this take over transaction was taking place. I have not been receiving any faxes in the past 5 business day which is negatively effecting my work and business. I have called each company for the past 5 days and no one ever pick...
