On November 17, we signed a contract with Fibre Tech for resurfacing our pool
On November 17, we signed a contract with Fibre Tech for resurfacing our pool. We sent a check of $700. In March 2022, we got a letter saying they would come on May 5, 2022, to do the job. A few days later, we got an email saying it would take 8 to 11 more months. They say they sent a letter, but we never got one. Since then, we've been trying to get our $450 deposit back. They said it would take 5-10 business days. It's now July 30, 2022, and we still haven't received our money back. They sent us a form to fill out, which we sent back over a month ago, and still nothing. Everyt time we call, no one helps us. We want our money back ASAP. You've had it for long enough. Don't sign a contract or leave a desposit with this company. You'll never see the work done or get your money back. Please ComplaintsBoard.com, help us.
We got a deal to get our pool resurfaced
We got a deal to get our pool resurfaced. It was supposed to be done by the end of Feb 2021. But they messed up and didn't start until March 1. And guess what? 23 days into the job, their carelessness and crappy equipment made our pool burst on March 23. According to the contract, they should have finished the original job around April 1, so they totally broke the contract. It's been over 2 months since this mess started (3 months since they started working), and the project still ain't done. They've made a bunch of other screw-ups that caused even more delays. We're the ones who have to check their work and find all the problems, not them. They don't even bother responding to our emails. They make promises to come and do the work, but they never keep them. They haven't shown us that finishing our job is important to them. The boss and the COO haven't even said sorry or made us feel like finishing our job properly and on time matters to them.
I signed a contract to have my pool tile and pavers done
I signed a contract to have my pool tile and pavers done. I told them on July 15th about the issues and they still haven't fixed them. On July 15th, I told Fiber Tech that the condition my pool was left in was not acceptable. I told them that the pavers were of poor quality and that we got a bad batch or second-rate pavers. Max B., who did the pavers, said he did his best with the quality of pavers. If they were bad, why did he keep going? We could have called the Paver company and asked for better quality. Here is a list of the issues I gave to Fiber Tech with pictures: Cuts of Pavers Chips in pavers Pavers are loose Coping lines are not straight Tile has residue on it Tile is not straight and doesn't align (Waterfall feature from Jacuzzi to pool) Squares by the door are uneven and not aligned to the door. (They are also broken) Pool is green (This has been fixed - I had to spend over $300.00 on chemicals) Debris in the pool - This has been fixed. Drains are not even with pavers The drain actually drains right into the pool pump and equipment - no piece on the end of either side.

Re-fiberglassing the pool started on May 19 and was supposed to be done in 5 days
Re-fiberglassing the pool started on May 19 and was supposed to be done in 5 days. But there were lots of problems and the work still isn't finished. They started on May 19 and it should've been done in 5 days. After leaving the fiberglass shell empty for 2 weeks, the shell cracked and the sides got all bulgy. FibreTech fixed the crack after I got in touch with the State Attorneys Office, but they refused to fix the bulge on the house side. This also caused cracks in the pavers. They forgot to dig well points to control the ground water. They started filling the pool and I stopped it after 4000 gallons because they didn't put back the light and the jet inserts were missing. On June 3, the COO came to check out the pool and said he'd send someone to finish the job, give us credit for the water, and that the pool would have to be emptied again. After a big rain on June 6, the pool cracked and bulged. The worker doing the repairs told us he'd dig out the sides of the pool and fix the crack. The crack got fixed, but the COO won't deal with the bulge on the house side and they still need to finish the paver repairs. It's October 21 now and nobody has come back to finish the work or get rid of the concrete and cracked pavers.
Pool was not finished to satisfaction and they promised to fix it, but the only communication we had was a zoomlien
Pool was not finished to satisfaction and they promised to fix it, but the only communication we had was a zoomlien. We had FibreTech from Largo, FL do our pool coping, re-tiling, and resurfacing. The coping was done well and it took a couple of days. A week after the coping was done, we had the tilers and resurfacing team come out (after calling FibreTech countless times). The team proceeded to scuff and chip the coping while missing grout on the tiles (they decided to only take off one layer of tiles instead of all layers of tiles - which we were told they would be doing). The tiles on the steps have product over-lay that needs to be buffed out. Two weeks prior to the resurfacing being done, we wanted someone from the FibreTech office to come out and see the inadequacies of the job. Our response (again after countless calls to FibreTech) was on 8/21, Richard Zimmerman COO coming out the day the resurfacing crew was "done". We pointed out the deficiencies to Richard - he promised to have a different crew come out the following Monday (8/24) to fix the issues. We withheld the final payment of 3K (we had already paid 7K) until the job was done. We only filled the pool to the bottom stairs because we were told they would be out on Monday and it would waste water to buff the stairs. We called Monday to Friday the following week to see when someone would come - no response until we received a zoomlien on our house on 9/23 - see attached email.
They didn't finish the job on time, charged too much, messed up our existing stuff, and made the environment and homeowners unsafe
They didn't finish the job on time, charged too much, messed up our existing stuff, and made the environment and homeowners unsafe. We hired them to resurface our pool on August 23. They said they would start on May 22, but didn't show up until May 29, and they were late even though we needed it done before we left in early June. It was a disaster from the beginning. They didn't take enough precautions to keep us safe from fumes and dust, even though we talked about it beforehand. The workers didn't have enough protective gear for themselves, and there were lots of injuries. One guy even hurt himself with a grinder and we had to step in, and another guy got so sick from the fumes that we had to suggest he go to the emergency room. They pumped the water from the job site into our lake without telling us, and it was full of bad stuff, which we later found out was against the rules. The workers started the job but then disappeared for days at a time, leaving the pumps running to get rid of the water. They didn't install the well points they said they would, and instead they punctured the bottom of the pool, causing the walls to buckle and making a lot of noise that annoyed our neighbors. We had to keep an eye on it day and night to make sure the pool didn't pop out of the ground. We called the company many times to complain about the workers not showing up, damaging our new pavers, and other problems, but they didn't take it seriously. I wrote a letter on June 11, explaining all the issues in more detail, and I attached it. They said they finished the project on June 10, even though they originally promised it would be done earlier. They demanded the final payment, even though we hadn't filled and tested the system yet, which we did on June 12. When our pool company came to restart the system, they found that the pump and filter were filled with sand, which was a big surprise to them. They shut down the pump right away and told us there was a major problem that they had never seen before. We had to leave for business reasons, so we started emailing Richard Zimmerman from the company about the pool failure and how they would fix it. They said it wasn't their fault, but they did come back twice to try to fix a leak at the bottom of the pool that they thought might be causing the problem. It wasn't, and we had to hire a leak detection company for $1699.00 to find the real issue, which was a clogged filter box full of resin from the refinishing. This caused the return pipe to break and the pump to suck in sand from the ground, making the pool even more unstable and damaging our home. We were supposed to go back home on August 1, but we had to delay because the pool was still unusable and dangerous. They didn't finish the final repair until November 20. We have security cameras at home that recorded all the visits. I finally returned in December and found out that they charged us almost $1000 more than the original contract, plus the money we paid to the leak company and $300 to clean the pump, filter, and pool from the sand. We also had to pay for municipal water refills. They caused a lot of damage to our home, like spots and burn marks on the new pavers, spilled resin and paint on the pool ladder, and a damaged screen door. They won't take any responsibility or try to work things out. This has caused me a lot of panic and distress, especially since I'm 80 years old.
