Overdraft fees
multiple over draft charges... when something is in pending transactions and you don't have enough in your account the overdraft applies to each transaction in your pending even if you have enough to cover the ones in pending that were there before you actually overdrafted...so you get charged for each individual transaction on overdraft even if it is $1.00...and then when they post your transactions to your account you get charged again for the same ones you were already charged for in pending...so you get double charged... and when you call customer service they will tell you that this is legitamit...

denial of access to funds
On Monday November 19th 2012 I deposited a check into my account at First Convenience Bank, a division of First National Bank Texas. I called First Convenience Bank and spoke with a customer service supervisor by the name of Else who told me that the funds where placed are hold by the loss prevention department for reasons she was not allowed to share with me, the account holder. I was also told to call Else back before 4pm on that day (Nov. 23rd 2012) to check for any new information. I called First Convenience Bank at 340pm on that same day, Friday (Nov. 23rd 2012). I was told Else was unavailable and was transferred to another customer service supervisor who's name I do not have recorded. I was told that the issue with the check was due to the loss prevention department not being able to contact the issuing company for verification. I asked why the loss prevention office could make a telephone call to company and ask them for whatever information was needed for the verification of the account and was told that she (the customer service supervisor) was unable to answer that question as the everyone was gone for the weekend.
I called First Convenience Bank at 830am on Monday (Nov. 26 2012) and spoke with a customer service supervisor by the name of Misty. I ask Misty to contact the loss prevention department and to ask that they contact the company who check for verification of the account, after be placed on hold Misty returned and then stated that they had spoke with "someone" at the issuing company and was told that person could not verify the account on which the check was drawn and that First Convenience Bank would continue to refuse access to these funds. I contacted the manager of the Accounts Payable department at the company who issued the check and was told that no one from First Convenience Bank had contacted his department. The Accounts Payable manager also verified that the funds for the check where release from the companies account on Friday (Nov. 23rd 2012). It has now been ten business days I have still have no access to these funds and no attempt has been made to contact me by First Convenience Bank.

bad bank that ripps people off!
I opened an account with this bank in an Arizona walmart and thought it was convenient! I read all the fine print and knew about the 90 days of keeping the account open or they charge 25.00 to close it. I kept this account open for over 90 days and moved out of state for a job. There is no first bank in wisconsin where I moved to so I closed the account over the phone and the customer service rep said that was ok and would send my balance left over in the mail to me.A few months after closing the account I started getting phone calls all hours of the day and NIGHT! They claim I have a negative balance of 58.00 and I just about went through the roof, I told them time after time that it was closed months ago but they had no record and the after getting no help and being on hold for thirty minutes I gave up. The next night at 10:30pm I get another call saying I owe them over 100+ for overdraft. They wont let me close the account for the SECOND time because they say I owe them money and until I pay they cant close the account! Now they say I owe them several hundred dollars when they owe me money! By far the worst experience I ever had with any business! CROOKS! They should be wearing masks! I never heard of a bank robbing customers!

I am so glad I have not gone there You should see the one in the WalMart on 190 East Round Grove Road, Lewisville, TX. Oh wow.. before I had seen all these complaints and complaints from friends about this bank. i could see just from visual inspection that it was not a place I would want to bank with. the women look like hookers and the guy there looks like bob marley on a Good day. you can just feel the bad vibes coming off these people.
overdraft charges
My account got charged twice for the same bill, I was paying online. I went to my bank and they said it was the companies fault. One charge was in pending then it was taking out of my account the next morning, but I got charged overdraft charges of 34.00, and then they charged my account another overdraft charge of 105.00. I went to the bank to dispute the charges and they said they could not do anything about it. I had to get in touch with the company that charged my account twice. But according to the company only 1 pymt was taken out of my account so I went back to the bank and by this time I had more account overdraft fees added to my account. In amounts of 2.49 X's 9 days. No one would reimburse me for these charges and the bank said that they could not do anything about it. I will be closing my account and going back to BOA at least they listen to the customer and get to the bottom of a problem with the account. If they won't fix this I hate to see if someone had ID Theft
poor service
Because i live out of state and we have no First Convenience Bank in our state, the branch in AZ said it was ok to mail a deposit to the branch. That is what i did, and it cost me $5.90, it was delievered and i have confirmation that it was delivered, but nobody within the branch or at Walmart has a clue where it went. I say this is very very poor busine...

I had been banking with this institution for more than 6 months. During this time I had two overdrafts. One of the overdrafts was because I was doubled dipped by an automatic withdrawal.
I went to open a savings account on 3/22/12. No problems, the people at the branch were nice when they took my two checks @ $2, 500 apiece. I went the following Monday to transfer $500 into my checking and was told my account was on hold. I asked why, and they stated because I had 6 or more overdrafts. I told them to check my account and they verified that was false. The Assistant Manager than stated she didn't know why and said I needed to call their headquarters in Kileen.
Red flags were flying. Why hold checks on a savings account? I can understand checking maybe, but not savings,
I called four times. The first three times they disconnected me. The fourth time...Jason the customer service rep would not let me talk to the Loss Prevention Dept. nor his Supervisor. I couldn't talk to anyone but Jason who told me they were abiding by Federal Law and that's just the way it is. This also caused red flags to fly.
I then received a letter stating that because they don't believe the checks are good and that I had repeatedly overdrafted my account, the checks would be on hold for 7 business days.
I had deposited checks from my father before. Red flags again. The called my 81 year old father and interrogated him, scaring him to death. Both checks cleared in 3 days yet they are holding them for a total of 12 days making daily interest.
What is happening after reading all the other complaints is clear to see.
They are taking advantage of their customers because they know the customers don't have the monetary means to fight.
This wrong needs to be righted. They are the pink slime of the banking industry. Please, I am all in for doing a class action lawsuit to expose these con artist. That's my opinion.

I recently opened a checking and savings account at the First convenience Bank located in the wal-Mart in Nacogdoches Texas. I was working there and needed a local bank just to handle immediate banking needs. I received an overdraft notice from the bank because there was a $10.00 charge placed on both my checking account because the mailed me something, (I had signed up for all mail going my Internet anyway). I was told that my mail was returned and there is a $10 fee when mail is returned. When I called to complain, they were very rude and took me through an enormous amount of interrogation before talking to me. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put on hold for 33 minutes and no one ever came to the phone. I then went to the branch and found out someone had put in a wrong zip code and they admitted it was their fault. Second issue. I used my card to check in a motel but ask that charges no be put on the card. i paid cash when checking out and the desk clerk released the hold on my card. Three days later, the bank issued me an NSF fee. I was told that the motel was the blame although the motel charge did not show anywhere on my account. I was told to have the motel fax a letter saying that charges were never requested on my card. The motel immediately issued the fax and sent me a fax copy off the letter. I called the next day and i was told that they did not receive the fax. i had my motel fax again. Still they said they did not receive the fax. By this time, they had accessed two additional NSF charges plus some other daily fees. I was more than upset and went to the branch complaining. The branch manager took a copy of the fax and sent it to customer service. The Manager then called and acknowledged the fax was received. They assured me that all the charges would be reversed within 24 hours. Three days later, still no reversal of the fees. I am currently out of town, but will storm back in the bank when i return, get this straighten out and CLOSE THAT ACCOUNT ! YOU CAN JOIN ME IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT at wrewilli@gmail.com
I opened my account with First Convenience Bank around the middle of February 2012. Upon beginning my job at Tarrant County College on February 20th, I was told my first check would not be available until the end of March. I borrowed $500 from a family member and he sent me a bank check from Wells Fargo for the amount of $500. I was told because Wells Fargo would not verify third party information they had to hold the funds until the $500 could be verified.
On March 8, 2012, I received my retirement check from the State of Colorado. The check was for a little over $10, 000. I was told because of the amount of the check, they would have to hold the funds for up to two weeks. I called the state offices in Colorado and they verified the funds were available, but the bank would still not release the funds. They had me sign a paper stating I would get $4800 on March 14th and the balance on March 21st.
My first payroll check from Tarrant County College was supposed to be direct deposited on March 30th, 2012. Because the TRS retirement paperwork was not entered in sufficient enough time, they issued a paper check. I picked up the paper check at the business office and drove to First Convenience Bank. The teller called Chase Bank to verify availability of funds and informed me I would have the funds available on Saturday, March 31st. Upon attempting to withdraw funds on March 31st, I was told that a hold was placed on that check for the entire amount of $5, 900, leaving me no money to pay my bills. I tried to call the central offices in Killeen, but they were closed for the weekend.
On Monday, April 2nd, I called the bank’s central office in Killeen. As I was explaining the situation, the lady who answered the phone said she was sorry, but that is just the way things are. She then hung up on me. I called back and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor informed me that the “Loss Prevention” office had placed a hold on the check and I would have access to the funds on April 9th. I asked for a number and contact information for the Loss Prevention office and the supervisor stated they do not talk with customers and there is no public telephone number available. She went on to state, “Now that I was aware of the policy, I could plan better in the future”. I explained to her that I need to pay my rent and purchase my heart medications and she said she was sorry, there was nothing she could do for me. I never signed a form stating my money would be held until April 9th.
I contacted the payroll office of Tarrant County College, who contacted Chase Bank, who wrote and faxed a letter stating there were sufficient funds to cover the payroll check. Once again First Convenience has denied my request to release my funds.
fraud
PLEASE beaware of this bank. DONOT do banking with this bank. they are gona rob you with their overdraft charges and they give you the wrong information every time. they are very very slow and their transactions take 2-3 days to go through.
To make a long story short, my bank card was stolen and instead of the bank helping me, they were trying to make me feel like I was the criminal. Not only did I give them a police report, I gave the claims department my time card from work.Lynnsey continued to tell me she could not help me because she didn't understand why I didn't clock out for lunch at work.Someone was using my debit card as credit.I filed two claims and the bank insisted that they could not help me.When the person overdrew 1200.00 worth of bank fees, the bank still never gave me a courtesy call.I will never tell any one to bank with First Convenience Bank EVER!
Please contact me at highbankfees@yahoo.com if you have had bad experience with this bank. I am conducting an investigation and would like to hear from you. Please feel free to email me. Everything said will be confidential. WE need to put a stop to institutions like this one!
worst bank!!
I was buying some medicen at cvs when my card was decling and I knew for a fact that I had money in my account. I called customer service they said I need to go to one of their branches so I did and I was negative 1800.00 dollars. I disputed charges that weren't mine but I was denied because I never reported my card stolen. I had explained to them my card was never stolen its been with me. The another person using my card number was doing transaction at the same time I was and I was at huntsville for that weekend and I used it to pay gas and hotel. While the another person used it 15min difference in mesquite. How could I drive from huntsville to mesquite in 15min. Now I receiving call from them to pay that money which I not going to.
scam
I was a First Convenience Bank member until today. I dont have the greatest credit around so I figured a bank who will give me an account great. Started direct deposit an everything was going great until to day 4-16-10. I knew I might have some overdraft fees from previous transactions made earlier in the week. but not 387.00 in overages. That was my whole pay check. But when I went to the ATM on 4-15-10. It said I had money in the account. But what made me overdraft was checking the ATM it told me I had 127.00 left in the account this was prior to this week. So I thought I had money to use on a side job when I didnt. I wonder what is up with not holding the funds that were charged as credit. Any other bank would do that oh no not them they set u up for failure to overdraft. No warning or nothing. So here I am with no money to pay for insurance on mine an my wifes cars, no money for food for our son or us, an no money for gas for us to make it to work to get another paycheck. In my opinion this bank needs to be closed down an rebuilt from the ground up. They need to start taking a look at there customer satisfaction. Which is very poor. Thank You First Convenience Bank you opened my eyes to how low of a bank u really are!
To the check list at the end all of the above.
Thanks for your comments jkwaghorn. They're very informative. Whythelongfaces just likes to pick fights with everyone.
I want to thank Complaints. com for helping me get my Bank straightened out. It's a great site and if I ever have the need, I'll use it again.
"Whythelongfaces" you said "Now, I am a big girl"...all girls weighing over 400lbs are big girls. That's why you got the job at the Carnival Freak show. Keep on sitting in front of your computer doing comments to every post (913) and stuffing your face with ding dongs. That is the closes your ever get to any man sticking something in that big fat mouth of yours. You can post all you wish now and don't have to worry about me showing everyone you want-to-be Ann Coulter are nothing more than rejects of society, because my email was a temp account and I'll never see it. I would say, I'd like to meet you one day and slap some sense into you, but it is so clear your parents did this so many times, you have brain damage. Good luck getting your "crab" problem under control...lmao...
Later...BEE_Otch
If your going to ridicule people who post complaints, be mature enough to handle it when people ridicule you. Also, each time you send a response, I have the right to respond. That is not spamming fool. It would be nice if you knew what the hell you were talking about, but it is so crystal clear that your use of the english language reveals you really are just a immature brat.
whythelongfaces...boohoho Wipe the tears away little boy.
BOFA was sued successfully for their overdraft policies. The law firm is now going after other banks. I do agree most overdrafts are the responibility of the individual unless the bank screws up. This bank for example will hit you with an overdraft fee when you close an account. Their software has a 5 cent differance in it. So when you close your account you will be 5 cents overdrawn. I know this because I was able to see the screen when I closed my account and confirmed it with the employee. As far as "whythelongfaces" don't pay attention to that idiot. You can look up his account and all he does is spend all day in front of the computer responding to others. No life for this fool.
the worst liars
I have opened up an account and I have friends told me about this bank that they ripped their customers off from their customers. They can't take care their customer very will. For an example once you deposit a check they hold that check for 4 to 5 days then they decided to deposit and post it to your account. On the day of 11/23/2010 I have closed my account and I saw the teller wrote the date and enter it in the computer. Then three or four days later they still haven't actually closed my account. So I would like to tell you if you want to find a bank I would not recommened this to anyone.
do not do business here
I just recently opened another small business and decided to use 1st Convenience bank since it was located in my local Kroger's Store and they had extended hours. I should have followed my gut instinct to quickly run away when the so called "branch manager" began arguing with me about my business structure. She insisted that business was a Limited Liability Corporation - while I stood there informing her that I had started a Single Member Limited Liability Company, which for tax purposes would be treated as a sole proprietorship. She demanded a DBA - which I didn't have or need, because I do business under the exact same legal name. **For credibility purposes I should mention that - I am graduate student in business (also a bachelor of business) and currently in the process of getting earning my CPA.
No sooner that I had moved past the incompetence of the banks employees - 1st Convenience bank service amazingly got worse. I began setting up my direct deposit, PayPal, Google checkout, shipping and other office supply store accounts - when I realized 1st convenience charged me a $2.00 "POS Denial Fee" per entry - for the verifying deposits and/or setup authorization charges ( which are temporary). I should also add that I made a deposit on January 18, 2011 before noon that as of now (Jan 28 3:18pm CST) still hasn’t been deposited. I called customer service and the young man I talked to couldn’t give a flip about the unfairness of the situation. Right now – I am thinking that enough is enough and I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER do business with 1st convenience bank again – even though I am stuck with them for the next 60 days because I refuse to pay the penalty of $25.00 to close my account. I have started a new commercial account in the same bank as my other business and will not l use the First Convenience account and have every intention on closing it on day 91.
Also, I should probably mention that after providing all my business formation documents to the bank – and I watched them make copies of everything – on another visit they could not locate any of the information I had given them. I sat there and watched the workers scramble around for about 15 minutes looking for it. I wondered and started to ask if maybe someone had taken it home with them. That is SCARY. I may be a small business, but will not accept being treated this way by any bank ever. Please be warned – I wish I would have read this before going there.
fraud on my account
I was with this bank for over 5 years with no problems at all. Until 05/21/11, i checked my online statement and the bank allowed someone to overdraw my account by $1152.00.. I called the 800# and spoke to a rep and she advised since the charges were pending that the only way I could dispute this was to allow the transactions to post and then file a claim. I requested to speak to an supervisor and I still didn't get anywhere. I explained to the supervisor that this is no way to treat your customers if they are calling to inform you of fradulent charges before they happen and the response was the card that was suppose to have been cancelled at the branch was not cancelled and the card is still showing open and active, even though they issued me another card in the year of 2010. This has been a true nightmare I felt I should have been treated with more courtesy then what I received from a manager since I was an customer with them for so long with no overdrawn issues before. Please reconsider if you are thinking about banking with First Convenience Bank.

draft overdraft charges on daughters closed account
Looking at previous reviews, there isn’t much more that can be said about this bank, but here you go.
My daughter inadvertently over drafted. Within 2 days, the OD charges had run up to $300+. We went down and took care of the charges, as well as closing the account. They tried to get her to leave the account open with a dollar in it. (I'm sure this was so they could find other charges to collect)
We refused and closed the account. 5 days later, a netflix $9.00 charge came in, which sent the already closed account into OD again? At this point, they started adding up daily charges for OD. They kept doing this for 2 months, without any contact. At this point, they sent to collections and are calling her 5+ times a day.
She is a struggling single mother, trying to make ends meet. I could help out and pay these fees again, but whats to say that this wont happen again as the account was already closed.
I put some of the blame for how this bank is preying on people who are having difficulties, on Walmart, as Walmart must know of their business practices, and lets them prey on their customers.
Start taking your complaints to the grocery stores who are hosting these banks.
I lost my job, the bank knew of my payday loans I could no longer pay. I was told to do an open and close account I did I was given a new account. I came in made a deposit to find out the close I did 2 days before had not prevented the 'closed account' from being charged. The account charges were $39.00. I spoke to a customer service phone rep who originally refunded that charge, however the account was in reality not closed! The bank teller inside had said it was alright, no problem. (ha ) Returning two days later I was told they were sorry, but for some reason it could happen again! "What the?" Should the charges reoccur on an aacount that is closed makes very little sense to me. I was also told if charges reoccur again within 24-48 hours the location manager may not refund me the $39.00 ! OUT RIGHT THEFT! BANKS ARE BANDITS. I by all means will report this to the grocery store manager that houses this bank. I will follow up with a call to the BBB as well,
You need to cancel the card on file with Netflix. It was a automatic debit every month that was already authorized. When it came through for the month it automatically re-opened the account.
personel
one month ago i went to this bank and i had a problem with a check that some one stold. but the employees at this branch were clueless and they did not know what to do when we were explaning that someone had stold a personal check and they dint know what was going on so basicly the staff has no expirience to work in a bank and. oooo and one thin im not...

i know something needs to be done about this bank. i am joining in this because this bank preys on its customers and isn't in the best interest of its clients.
i hope someone listens
Aww thanks so much.. you touch my ♥, , , maybe I will be one of those who make changes.. unlike most who sit there and give their own meaning less advice or thoughts... either way.. at least Im doing something about it...
No thanks anyways for your deep concern But the Attorney General has looked outside his box and sees what is going on... you and sparky make a awsome team, , too dumb dumbs who have no life but to come on here DAILY and see who they can get their rocks off on with ignored comments... lmao
oh my mistake ... SAVE you not say.. okay... big boy..
No...that's cool Sparky sounds like he has as much intelligent s as yourself.. and I was just trying to say you from looking stupid.. but my mistake, , you got it next time read the whole post...
if you look at the balance you would see that there was plenty of funds... its what they did that messed it up.. do you see where it says balance of 110.19... L(.)(>)k... there shouldnt have been any fees funds were there...
That wasnt the problem, , read before you post...
maybe you should be.. you seem to be full of it..
This psuguy58, , must spend alot of time on here posting stupid remarks.. well to bad you dont post something worth saying..duhhhhhhh its ppl like you that work for these BANKS that give them a BAD name as far as how to show emphathy, , which puts you right in the complaints on "BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, " I worked in customer service all my life and rather a person is wrong or upset, , maybe all they need is someone to show that they care, , , , THAT IS WHAT YOUR LACKING JERK... you could have made your point without rubbing it into their face... Let me guess your life is perfect and no one has ever wronged you...right? You have never been screwed over or treated like your treating these ppl on here? Yea right.. Its ones like you who should NOT BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE... smoke that in your perfect pipe..
I have proof that the banks system or ppl are taking payments that have already been paid to the merchant and 24 hrs after they are paid and cleared they are taking pending charges and charging me overdraft fees 5 of them... went in and I recorded the conversation with her knowledge even though she stormed out of the room saying then she has to get someone.. well I had turned it on already before she walked out of the room.. by the end of the meeting, , after another supervisor joined in with any lies they could tell, I gathered up the papers including the one that they printed.. wish I had looked closer at it at the time... cause what I have is a gold mine.. they printed for me the times of all my charges when they were pre auth and when they were wdl purch which is when the merchant actually got payment... and it the charge would be no longer in pending status, well the 3 checks that on my online bank statement which I checked before I even went into town showed as paid and cleared.. I had a balance of 110.00 per my attachment, , and no pending charges, , , went to heb and the ups, , mind you had 110. in my account.. only wrote the amount for 64.00 and 12.00 and some cents, , which still had funds left over, , well to my surprise I checked my account on Monday and bam... over 260.00 in bank charges.. I flipped... they took the 3 that cleared and thanks to their own paper work I can prove were already paid and posted over 12 hrs before I even had a pending charge.. so one they threw 3 $29.00 fees on of course Im in the neg.. well I'm with you.. I have had enough .. I cant sleep, I am so upset, , they closed my account, , right before xmas.. now my direct deposits had to be canceled and by the time I get them in the mail its will be to late for my xmas... Im sick and tired of being victimized by these banks.. who is going to stank up for us// We put these ppl in congress, , and once they get everyone's vote we mean nothing... I want to make a youtube video.. the news... anyone who will listen.. i cant afford a laywer since Im on disability, , but Im still someone.. and I should count...
plz tell me how to contact this person ... thank you so much.. I have all the info and my bank statement posted on here if you would like to see my post complaint.. :)

Friday july 23 I checked my balance and it said - 45. 97 and today july 27 my account says - 200. 00 dollars and ive only had this account for 2 and a half months and im not paying this ridiculous bill nor am I banking with them anymore so I want my account closed and I dont want this bs on my credit! You need to fix this!

this is the worst bank ever
This is the worst bank ever! The overdraft fees are utterly ridiculous. Not only do they charge you for overdraft fees on pending transactions but they turn around and charge you overdraft fees when those same transactions clear too! I've literally called 12 times to speak to the branch manager and keep getting transferred to the main swtch board. If you actually want to talk to someone, they charge you $3 which they will overdraft on. I can't wait to cancel my account... Which they will charge you $25 for if it's been less than 90 days since you opened your account... What a crock!
I know what you mean. I have tried to figure this out and i keep coming up empty handed. Easy way to solve this is not to overdraft your account. Use cash whenever possible. AVOID paying the bank for NOTHING.
can not find a third party
I deposited a check at the bank and they said a third party contacted them and said the check might not be good so they held the funds...but they said that due to confidentiality they couldn't disclose who the third party is and to contact the bank issuer...Can you help me find out who is this third party hiding behind the scene in my bank deposits?
their gliched system double billed me
Be careful! They've caused me so much stress over this... What a nightmare! They are scam artists! After what happened to me, I wonder how many people they've stolen money from. I. worked in banking for 15 years and saw so much that was unfair to customers it made me sick! To make matters worse, as an employee I had to participate in a lot of those awful actions or let's just be real (ligit stealing). I guit banking, left behind seniority and salary to teach school. Now I fell good when I go to work each day! I would rather have a class of 50 juveniles than feel the way I felt in banking. As customers we need to start a class action lawsuit against these practices.😈
