misleading statements about treatment
The knee injections I received were hyalogen three times and a final one mixed with my blood platelets; it helped to some degree for about two, three months, I returned for followup treatment which was of no real benefit, unlike the first. Then in the interim before I could have followup the office in Roswell (GA) closed; and their general website no longer...

I visited Flexogenix for their "FREE Consultation" only to find it was more like going to a time share presentation. Their "Free" resulted in my Insurance being billed $400, not really Free after all. Deceptive business practices and false and misleading advertising. Once the presentation was over I was given a piece of paper with the treatment which used their internal jargon, so you really don't know what it is your are getting. Also along with cost, but no explanation of what the treatment was or what the cost associated with each treatment.
i'm complaining about the service
I'm complaining about the service that I paid for, it didn't do me any good. The advertisement that you don't have to have knee surgery, is false advertising I paid 524.26 for each gel shot, for the first five shots I complained about the pain that I still had after the injections, one cortisone shot and that didn't last but for 3 days until the pain came back. I waited three months and came back and the head do on duty told me he read my x-ray wrong and that i needed five more injections. I continued to complain about the pain after the last five injections and he said to me if I continue to hurt give them a call back, I did that and made an appointment and came back to talk to the head surgeon on duty. He told me that he asked the other doctor to let him see my x-ray again, and he looked at it and he TD me he thought he could help me but can't I'm going to need the knee surgery. Shook my hands and said I can't do nothing else for you I'm entitled to my refund of 524.26, I paid 78.00 for the first five and they draft twice out of my bank account of 67.26 and it came to the total of 524.26. I'm going to also call my insurance company Humana and united health Medicare paid and I'm going to get them involved that it was a false claim, I called and told them not to continue to draft any more money out of my account and they continue to do so. They are still trying to draft out of my account and I'm also going to complain to the medical field, nobody shouldn't have to go through this if they knew they couldn't help me, because they x-ray me before they did.

medicare fraud
This company is such a fraud. The doctor is nothing but a sales dealership with excessive pressure in getting the injection or stem cell. I can't believe as I waited how many people they force to get the injection or stem cell. Most of there patient it Medicare patient who believe the injection would heal them. I can't believe everybody needs the injection not one person was turned down from the injection. Those people are in wheel chairs, walkers or lump over barely can walk and over 90 years old and they charge Medicare and the patient a high cost for service. The other that came into the office could loose some weight and maybe they won't have knee problems or offer more physical therapy and less injections. I couldn't believe once I got my Medicare EOB and how much I payed out of pocket. I yet found out that they made me pay for X-ray and imagines up front which was covered by Medicare. They lied and told me Medicare doesn't cover my X-rays and images. They also lied and told me Medicare doesn't cover both of my injection in the knees. This company is so dishonest, liars and they rip off there patient. I have filed a complaint with Medicare and DMHC along with copies of my Medical records and receipts. The billing department is clueless of there jobs and failed to provided me with statements. I'm anticipating the day MEDICARE, DMHC and the Govt crack down on there fraudulent billing and over charging patients.
You should feel a shame of yourself and can't sleep at night yet you continue to rip people off and one day it will come back on you. You have no morals nor respect for your self or others.
They turned me down for a stem cell therapy and for other treatment. I previously received stem cell therapy from their competitor, Regenix. The doctor complemented the competitor's treatment and acknowledged the treatment was good. He said it was too early to do another stem cell treatment.
I will admit that the advertising for Regenex seems exaggerated (it might be the same for Flexogenex but I can't confirm it because I didn't get one with Flexogenex). The advertising shows people running marathons- I think that is a rare success when people can return to running marathons.
bad service
I originally went to the LA office and was told I would be covered. I got to the office and was told they don't take HMO. I was never informed over the phone during my time of making the appointment nor was I told they don't take HMO. They lady was so loud on the phone that I could hear all of her conversation while taking to the insurance people. There's no confidentiality what so ever. They violated HIPPA so much in this office it's pretty scary. I wouldn't answer any of the personal questions nor complete the forms. If I would have continue the service then great but after my experience I declined the service.
I did the free consultation and after the sales approach they tried to get me to do the shots and pay out of pocket. I could have used my husband insurance but the lady had no idea what I was telling her as if I was talking in a different language. Her language barrier was awful and that explain why she couldn't comprehend what I was saying to her. She started talking to another employee in there language which is VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL.
I will not be returning and will not refer anyone to this office. The people were not friendly and had no knowledge of there job.
flexogenix and iris chen of los angeles
I went to flexogenix for extreme arthritis knee pain. My pain wasn't that bad but I thought maybe the arthritis I had may be helped by the treatment they offer.
When I went to the Los Angles Flexogenix office I was greeted by the front desk and told my consultation would be free.
They checked my insurance to see if it would cover the treatment. It would, but they pressured me into doing something that wasn't covered. It was a complete bait and switch. They pressured me into trying a prp treatment that my orthopedic surgeon said that there was no way would help.
It was high pressure sales and they try and squeeze ever dime out of you and your insurance they can. They completely milked my medicare for every dollar. They charged hundreds of dollars to walk on a treadmill. It was over 1000 dollars to use their treadmill.
They are fraudulent at flexogenix. They are completely unethical. They billed medicare over 7300 dollars for injections and walking on the treadmill and I paid 2800 dollars out of my own pocket.
I asked to speak with the owner or someone in charge. They said Iris Chen was the CEO and CFO. She isn't even a doctor. Turns out she is one of the doctors wives.
This place is a complete SCAM. And Iris Chen I hope the federal government comes to take you away.
My knee pain is WORSE than ever and all you did was over bill my medicare, defraud the system, pressure me into treatment that was expensive and didn't help.
Gave me a knee brace for 1500 dollars that doesn't even fit.
I asked to speak to Iris Chen the CEO of Flexogenix to express my concern and let her know how I had been treated, the results of the treatment, and what had happened with medicare, but the staff was rude and said that they knew what had happened, but there was nothing they were willing to do.
Flexogenix is a complete scam. They have fake reviews and they have a CEO or CFO or whoever runs that place that doesn't even care about the people they are over billing medicare out of the clinics under her watch.
Be Aware!
I have been experiencing knee pain from my tennis and have been investigating causes and possible solutions and in noting the full page ad in the LA Times for Flexogenix I was immediately skeptical and searched and found this posting. No doubt these people, namely Iris Chen, will fool many people who do not bother to research this physical malady to understand its complexity will pay the price the author paid, but at least this person made an effort to alert others, for which I applaud him/her.
I went to my doctor, got a four image x-ray image set including a copy for myself on CD, studied up on the medical specific "code" words of the analysis and see how complex the problem is.
To my surprise my doc told me that Glucosamine/Chondroitin would rebuild my cartilage in three months. All research on that indicates formal testing shows no such likelihood and that a placebo is equally effective/ineffective. My wife points to the Amazon reviews on such which are heavily positive, to my surprise. Well, it was only a $23 investment, made during the euphoria of the doc's words and before the research, so I am giving it a try to make my wife happy.
