This is a scam. Plain & simple.
Checking the spam box for my junk email today & I found numerous notifications of messages pending from a Fling.com profile registered to my email.
I am a 47 y/o woman but when I checked the website profile it said I was a 35 y/o man in a neighboring town. The user name on the profile was (as other comments have stated) part of my email addy with the addition of two random letters at the beginning. My junk email addy does not contain my real name.
The profile info also says I signed up for this service (which I have not) two days ago. I am the only person with access to my computer or email accounts.
After some searching for someway to delete the profile and not finding any I simply changed the email registered to the account to Iamnotarube@bigjoke.com. I suggest that others do the same after changing any other matching details within the faux profile. I considered complaining directly to CS but since the company in question is the one committing the fraud I figured there would be no point.
Interesting note- I left the profile up while checking to see if there were other complaints about Fling.com and the window with the profile page reverted to a sign up page within 5 minutes. This leads me to believe that Fling.com knows exactly what they are doing and this is not a case of mistyped email addresses, prank sign ups or cheating spouses (in the majority of incidents that is).
THIS IS A SCAM. If you are freaking out on your significant other- stop, take a breath, and direct your anger at scammer websites like Fling.com for pulling this crap.
The same thing has just happneed to me, i am loosing my wife of 4 yrs because of this, what the hell is going on
Please people is there somethign we can do to prove this has anyone found out, I love my wife and swear on everyhting i love that i did not make this account. Please help for god sakes I am loosing my family
I just want to say something to the big guys of fling.com as well. Yesterday my wife looked at my emails also, considering fling.com sent me an email to an account I don't use saying I have set up an account, made a profile etc, this is complete utter crap. Now, I'm pissed off, my wife has basically blamed me of doing things like this behind her back also, she is convinced. So thanks alot fling.com, hope you reading this, there will be an email, and I will seek legal action also, because this is a totally data protection infringement. And I hope you know, you've my Christmas, and my whole family's.
Mary ellen snow my fiancee joined fling and in 4 moths started having affaiers with several men, then she up and stole my whole house, and ran to Georgia from NC after i caught her, she is still on the site and has had meetings with more than 50 guys in the last 4 months, now they email me and text me telling what they did with her, i am sure she is behind it all.
All lies! My husband says he was set up by fling! I signed in under his email and normal password! It had his location wrong (he travels quite a bit for work) and his birthdate was OUR ANNIVERSARY! Don't be blind! You're significant others have made these accounts! I consider, even visiting sites like this, cheating! I also feel like everyone on here saying they were set up are covering their own ###!
I was going to leave my fiancé recently because I noticed he had an account with fling.com. Profile and everything. He swore he never created it. I decided, not sure why, but I decided to log in with my email. To my surprise it claimed I had an account with them as well. I did a password recovery because of course I have no idea what the password was since I never actually created this account. I got the password recovery and was able to log in. There was a user name w/ a joined date of sept. 7, 2014. I definitely never created this. I guess I owe my fiancée an apology.
I found a few changes on our debt card, one for $1.99 and another for $.99 from a website called WebDatasol.com. I called them and they said they're a third party billing company and that they're associated with fling.com and their sister site, meetlocals.com. I confirmed my husband's last 4 digits of his debt card and they told me what email was used to sign up, which was his and that he signed up on the same day he went out of town for work. He says it wasn't him that he'd never sign up for those types of things and that if he were the type of man to do that he'd never use our joint account. We have had trust issues in our past, so I don't know what to think. Has anyone ever had this issue? What has me confused is what the hell are the $1.99 and $.99 charges for? I signed up for the sites just to see if it charged me anything or asked for card # and nothing there for $1.99 or $.99 .
