Florida Department of Revenue harassment for child support

Florida department of revenue have been annoying me for past year when they don't even have jurisdiction over my case. I don't even have a case for that matter. I've been paying child support through NY child support and florid DOR keeps garnishing my wages and threatening to take my taxes. I hope all who have been affected by them help me file a class action lawsuit against them.

Actually, if you are in Florida, they work with other states in order to collect the child support.

Florida Department of Revenue child support program

Paid in full my child support until he turned 18. Called the agency to find out if everything was settled. Was told that I paid to much and that I would receive a refund. Never received the refund and two months later received a letter saying that my child support now runs until May and that I owe $932.61. Now receiving threats of credit report from agency. This is a travesty and unacceptable. I did nothing wrong! Called the customer service line and spoke with someone about this and was told someone would call me back. After waiting close to a week Linda Sheldon called me. She is not only unhelpful but extremely rude. She informed me that not only would she do nothing but that it was only a courtesy call and then preceded to rudely hang up on me. Her level of incompetence, rudeness and lack of compassion for people is utterly shocking especially for an agency that is suppose to be helping people. Affecting people's lives negatively because of the inadequacies of the agency is morally wrong and needs to be addressed.

Florida Department of Revenue child support enforcement

Florida Child Support office in Escambia County has reported to the child support office in the state of Tennessee that their has been an attachment for the NCP for non-payment of child support and failure to appear in court for about a year and a half. Well the NCP was arrested in Escambia County for driving on a suspended license for the third time, but nothing reflecting the attachment for failure to pay $121, 000 in arrears. I am baffled by this system and disgusted at the work ethic of the system. I have much respect for the system to! If I can get a paycheck and not do what is in the best interest of the children, then draw that free paycheck. I just hate it for the parents out there trying to make it as a single parent and no support from the NCP.

Florida Department of Revenue child support enforcement

I've had a court order for child support since 2001. Dept of revenue child support closed my case in 2014 due to having no info on my ex's employment. They no longer are enforcing my case. The reason was because my ex was laid off and no more income deductions could be garnished and I could not provide them the name of his new employer due to the fact we have zero communication on his part and he will never call me to say where he's working. In 2014 he hadn't paid in a year and missed court hearings for contempt. Judge issued warrant in 2014. He was finally located by sheriff in Nov 2017 and arrested. The warrant states he is to pay $550 purge amount or spend 30 days in jail. He was released a little over 24 hours later after telling judge he was homeless(he lives with girlfriend) and he was jobless(works under the table) the judge ordered him to be released without having to pay the purge. He had $168 on him when he was arrested and he got to leave jail with it. Child support enforcement said they cannot do anything else to him but told him he had to schedule a hearing within 30 days to answer why he hasn't been paying the 28k in arrears. He has worked legitimately here and there but because child support closed my case his name wasn't "red flagged" and the income deduction order wouldn't take affect. So my child has missed out on support because they closed the case and will not reopen it unless he or I contact child support with his employers info or if he starts receiving ssi I must call child support and inform them. Only then will they take any action on him but until then they say he is NOT willfully refusing to pay support. What a bunch of bs. Its in our court order that he is suppose to contact child support with all info about employment, address and changes to them. I was informed by judges assistant that I have to hire a lawyer or represent myself if I want my case reopened and enforced but only after I find out where he works. Well if you leave my case open the system is suppose to work automatically whenever his SSN pops up via the IRS, thats how tax refunds get intercepted. DOR and the IRS work hand in hand.

Florida Department of Revenue inaccurate record keeping

2 letters dated 11.14.17 were received to my home address on 11.23.17 stating that I was to call or show up to my local office no later than 11.29.17 to avoid further action of possibly suspending my drivers license. The letters were identical and stated that I was not correctly paying my child support for either child. I went to the Dept.of Revenue on 11.29.17. This costs me time in-paid for work due to (Again) inaccurate reporting. I got there the gentlemen who assisted me was very nice, however he reviewed both of my cases and saw nothing out of order.

I was in a child support modification hearing for my daughter in September. Received a HORRIBLE increase, and I am also paying for the mother's supplemental insurance that does not even cover my daughter. I was appalled at the fact the judge or magistrate even considered that expense, staying on topic though, from my modification hearing, the Dept. of Revenue sent my employer a letter to deduct the increase. I acknowledged the receipt of the notice from my employer and the deductions have since begun. So to receive this letter now stating that I am not paying correctly for either child when I 2 letters have been sent to my SAME employer advising them of the current deductions for both of my cases. These are official letters from the Dept. of Revenue. My employer provides me the copies.

A few years back I got a part-time job at a Hotel working the overnight shift. The Dept. of Revenue saw "new" reported income and just attached my child support to that job in ADDITION to my full-time job. It to SIX weeks to get that stopped because the Dept. of Revenue finally realized I was already being deducted and paying CORRECTLY!

Also in both of my cases the Dept. of Revenue and the Clerk of Courts have 2 DIFFERENT balances on both cases that aren't even close and the response I get to that question is, "We are two separate entities". As true as that may be, there should be a Human interest to resolve the discrepancy, a Customer Service reason to solve the discrepancy, and maybe it is someone's job to resolve the discrepancy. If I am summoned to your office due to a letter you sent me stating inaccurate information and I leave your office without a new letter stating the letter was sent in error, that could cause someone a problem. What if the "systematic" snafu that caused this continues to the DMV and my license "inadvertently" gets suspended. I have nothing in my glove box to state that the letter or information was incorrect.

I don't want credit for taking care of my kids, The State of Florida has no idea what I do for my children. If the State of Florida really cared about these kids, they would have the kids where child support is received, visited. Or, visit with the child. Have them interviewed, see if they are happy in their homes where this "support" is being sent. Interview the Grand Parents about what type of Father I am, not my parents, the parents of each of my children's mothers. Again, not that it matters, my kids love me and I them. I don't need to prove any of that to anyone. Woman use this system because they can. That doesn't make it right or fair. I would like some answers if I am due any.

Florida Department of Revenue child support

I have been trying to get my child support since order started august 2003.. The department of revenue have failed to work my case. I am a former employee. Clarence couch pays when he wants the allow him to promise to pay to get out of jail or get his driver license back for free. Even let out of jail 2 times for nothing and one time for 300.00 dollars. They allow couch to lie and I report goos information they deny I gave it to them. I found out clarences millionaire mother passed away march 6 2017. I sent a letter to department of revenue, state attorney office, judge mcdaniels (he let couch out for free on sept 10. 2016) couch attorney gregg kemp. Letting them know he is going to get money and no acrion and now that clarence will receive his money on august 5 2017. Now I will never get my child support. The man owes me 64, 959.77. They didnt go thru probate. On sept 12 2016 clarence had an emergency hearing for his drivers licenses. No one from clerk of court or child support office came to hearing it was me, clarence, clarence attorney gregg kemp and judge mcdaniels and he claims he was waiting on a hearing that had alrwady happen him to re do his child support from day one. The address he gave on modification paper was 4991 nichols creek rd milton fl. Thats where he was picked up. He claims never recieve any hearing ever from child support. I was fired for being a criminal and chronic drug user but. My drug test was negative and I was found not guilty but cassie gregg (aka kc gregg) is a 2 time felon hired on house arrest.. The department has failed to work my case

Florida Department of Revenue child support

After fighting ffor nearly 8years, to establish some sort of support for our 3children, after being denied multiple times. Due to the fact that FDR FAILED to verify income from my children father, who was found to actually make $80, 000 a year and not the $15, 000 he lied to the courts about. March 2017 after begging and pleading to the magister to verify his income, I finally was granted support And arrears!

2 months later, June 2017, I went back to court to address contempt filed for non payments. My childrens father was found omg contempt, also was ordered to pay an additional support order of $500.
Instead of adding the additional amount $500 to order, child support deleted previous order and nearly $30, 000 in arrears. Added to my case that only $500.00 was due in total!

This is the most outrageous, unorganized, disfuntional ordeal I have ever encountered with any government agency! I need someone to look into The incompetency of this agency and why it has constantly failed my children and myself

Florida Department of Revenue mishandling/neglent

The state of Florida has mishandled my case through them. I have more than once asked them to take further actions in the retrieval of child support from my ex husband who resides in Tennessee. At first they told me all they could do was send notices to the only address on file and employer on file. I had to get the updated address and employer for the back in May 2017. At that time I asked that they reach out to Tennessee knowing that Tennessee had strict child support laws. I called again the first week of July 2017 to check the status of the follow up with Tennessee. The representative stated that although they sent the request to the local office the local office did not reach out to Tennessee. So I asked again if they could please reach out to Tennessee. She stated to call back in 10 days. I called again on 7/25/17 and the representative stated that the local office had not sent anything to Tennessee yet but that had sent out another notice to a possible employer asking them to deduct child support. I asked why had nothing been done due to the fact that obviously the "notices" were not working. She then stated that it could take 90 days (which if they would have done it when I called in May it would be close to the end of that period) for anything to be done. At that point she stated that it was being monitored and maybe I should call sooner instead of waiting a few months. I do not stand how it is the sole responsibility of a CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT OFFICE to ENFORCE CHILD SUPPORT. Sending out notice, after notice obviously is not working yet I have to be the one to constantly stay on the office to hold them accountable. I took it upon myself to call Tennessee (you can actually speak to local offices and not call one number where you are on hold for 30 mins) and that office stated that my case needed to be expedited because Tennessee would have already took legal actions way before he was in the rears almost $5, 000. The state of Florida has been grossly negligent in the follow through with my case.

Florida Department of Revenue my child support payments have not been coming to me.

My name is Beth Crosa, phone number [protected], email address [protected]@peterjcrosa.com. My case number is [protected]-FD.

The clerk of Courts office in St. Petersburg Florida made a mistake and my child support payments have been going to the Florida Department Of Revenue instead of to me. I am trying to raise my 15-year old son and I need the child support and it has been over a month since I have been trying to rectify this situation and get my payments.

I would like to file a formal complaint that this error was made and it is causing me financial and mental/emotional hardship- to myself and also to my son.

Are you receiving welfare? Because if you do and you ex is sending child support in then it gets intercepted and sent in to pay back the tanf you are receiving. If you are not receiving TANF then you need to contact child support disbursement unit.

Florida Department of Revenue child support miami office, mario carabello and the administrators in the office do not help.

I have contacted my state attorneys office who then referred my case to a Mario Carbello in the child support office in Miami fl. I have been fighting with this system for about 6 months now. I have gone in person to the office countless times, as well as calling and chatting at least once a week. They are saying I owe a balance of almost $3000.00 I have gone in person 2 days in a row, filled out affidavits proving that I do not owe that balance. The mother of my child has not received any payments from this fractured system since March. We are in July. I have payments being deducted from my Pacheco every pay period, and I long in and the payments are received. When I call I get the run around. I have been calling Mario for 2 weeks every day leaving countless messages. I have everything documented. But nothing. No one is hearing me out. So my concern is that since this system is so broken, and they keep doing nothing with the legal documents I fill out in child support I am going to be penalized whether it be put in jail or worst. I am not a deadbeat father. I pay my child support without fail. I have a good co-parenting relationship with my sons mother. This system is corrupt and broken that I feel that you want parents to be at each others throats because you do not take this matter serious. Letters keep going out to my jobs deducting more money than the court order amount. I also am a human being with bills and responsibilities. I pay my taxes and I am a good citizen of the united states. I have a voice that no one is choosing to hear. NO ONE in the child support office takes my case serious. You people are playing with people's lives, I know I am not the only one, the difference is an American with rights I am choosing to speak up and take it as far as I need to until I get a resolution. The only one getting affected here is my child, the mother of my child and myself. THIS is a serious matter and I will not continue to be steam rolled by this mis-managed, corrupt system that is destroying families in America.

This morning I got off the phone with a Debra who is a secretary at the state attorneys office of Katherine Fernandez Rundle [protected] and instead of offering any help any assistance in pointing us to who can help us she wanted to argue about it not being her job to assist with the child support office, or offer any assistance in helping my getting my problem resolved.

Florida Department of Revenue child support enforcement

My ex owes over $50, 000 in child support and the State of FL Dept of Rev CSE doesn't do anything about it except send letters. They've had my case for THREE years and have done not one single reasonable thing to enforce the court order.
I took my ex to court myself and won a judgment after proving to the judge that he had an ability to work but chose not play the system. He's a bartender and some weeks we get no money and others, it's less than $10. Weekly payments on my account are $0.72 and $1.03. FL Dept of Revenue CSE says they've sent the employer a letter and they can't do anything unless their system tells them to.
Please tell me what good are they? Yes FL law says the fathers must pay 1/2 their paycheck but if 1/2 of their paycheck is $0.72 how is that acceptable by law?
The only answer they give is they are sorry but they can't do anything until their system says so.
The judge sent him to jail and set at purge of over $2600. He paid it the same day and was released.
Can't anyone see how wrong this is? We have 3 kids and I struggle to make enough money for us to live.

I'd really like to find me a high profile attorney to take a case pro bono to go after the State for doing nothing! I know I'm dreaming but no one holds them accountable to actually enforce anything and my child support doesn't get paid.
I've been single now for nearly 5 years and it would be nice to get some financial support. My ex neglects our kids, has never called them and has nothing to do with them. At least help them through school or with their medical bills.
:((((

Florida Department of Revenue child support

I have had a child support order since January 2017 which doesn't seem like a lengthy amount of time. However, they still do not have my order correct in their computer which was submitted day one. Anytime you ask a question they just deflect instead of answering anything. My ex husband lives in Texas and they state "I understand your frustration, Ms. Henwood. Unfortunately, this can be a long process. It does not look like we need to contact Texas. We are notifying him of pending enforcement actions without Texas." When I get notified monthly of his toll tags charges in Texas why would you not contact him. They never have an answer or any definite information. Let alone correct information.

This is the MOST unprofessional department in any company and/or municipality I have ever had to deal with. Completely unorganized and take ZERO responsibility for their or actions or lack there of. Working on 4 months now to receive a payment due to me because they took money after a final judgement was signed by a judge, pretty much stole money from me. They are now telling me it can take 180 days or more to receive MY money. Absolute joke!

Florida Department of Revenue reinstatement of professional license

I have been trying to get my professional license reinstated so that I can start my new job. I have been getting the run around from the Department of Revenue on this matter. First off, I can't get a hold of a person on their 800 number so I've been having to speak to someone through their online chat. I have had more than one person tell me that they requested my professional license be reinstated back in 2015 but when I spoke with the department who handles my license they told me they never received this request and had they received it they would have immediately reinstated my license because they know I need it to work. I was even told by the Department of Revenue that I could find this said letter online in my case information but the only letter I found was of them reinstating my driver's license. So I'm wondering what they are supposedly looking at when giving me this information. The Florida Department of Revenue is the most unprofessional and incompetent group of people I've ever dealt with in my life. They are affecting my livelihood and that of my other child greatly and I'm not ok with that. I make my child support payments on time like I'm suppose to and me and my child are struggling financially because of it. I deserve to be treated better and have this issue fixed in a timely manner and that is not what is happening. I need to know what channels I need to go through to get this issue resolved ASAP and to file a formal complaint against the Florida Department of Revenue.

Florida Department of Revenue child support/ can never talk to a live person

You can never get in contact with a live person, ever! If you have any specific questions about your case, that the automated recording doesn't cover about general problems, then you're just on your own. My son's dad paid his child support on the 1st, which was saturday. Here it is wednesday and the smione card services people said that there isn't anything pending for me. I know it takes 2 business days to process, but here it is wednesday. Child support is a scam. Whether the other parent pays or not, florida child support releases the money when they feel like it. Child support is a scam to get men into jail and to steal money, i'm convinced.

Florida Department of Revenue west palm beach office

My client has been contacted by personnel in the West Palm Beach Office of the Florida Department of Revenue. After properly filing a Power of Attorney, I have made six attempts to contact "Mrs. Anderson" to inquire as to the nature of the issue.

Either my phone calls go un-returned, or I am greeted by a rather rude individual who takes a message. I find this very unusual, as my past experiences with the DOR folks in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Lake City were always very pleasant and cordial.

I am deeply concerned as to the reason for the blatant hostel attitude of that office. Thought you would like to know. Your folks to a hard job, I understand that, but they should not take out their frustrations on folks just trying to do the right thing.

Florida Department of Revenue child support payments

I sent in a payment to the Florida Disbursement Unit on May 17, 2016. This was a money gram money order. The money order was cashed by the disbursement unit on May 24, 2016, but it was never applied to my case. When I called on May 27, 2016, I was told that the payment must not have been applied properly, and that I needed to fax a copy of the money order receipt and a letter stating that I was giving my permission for the funds to be applied to my account. I did this on May 31, 2016. I called again on June 3, 2016 because the payment was still not applied, and I was told that the fax I sent was not clear enough to be read, and that I needed to fax it again. This time I sent it and printed out a confirmation showing me exactly what they received and how it would appear on their end so I would have proof that it was clear and legible. Again I waited. On June 10, 2016, I called again because nothing had been applied to my account. This time I was told that I needed to send a copy of my driver's license which I sent on the same day. On June 17, 2016, I called again because still no funds were applied to my account. This time I was told that I needed to send a copy of all three pieces of documentation together at one time. At this point I am becoming frustrated and so I asked to speak to a supervisor, who conveniently was on another line and so I was told that an email would be sent the the supervisor requesting a return call, which by the way, has still never called me back. I faxed all three documents a total of 3 times each so that I could get a confirmation of each document and how it would appear to them when they received it. I called again on June 27, 2016 because there was still nothing applied to my account, and I was told that even though it appeared to me that the documents I sent were clear, they could not be read and that I needed to fax them again. This time, I went to the post office and sent the information certified with return receipt, which was delivered and signed for on July 1, 2016. I called this morning and I was told that even though the information was received in their building, it has not been documented yet, and that the information will go to the investigations department which could take up to 10 days to process the information and apply the funds correctly. How utterly ridiculous and absurd for a person to have to endure this type of gross negligence on behalf of the State! No wonder there are dead beat dads out there! Perhaps they are not deadbeat at all and the Disbursement Unit is employing a thief! I would like to know who I can register a formal complaint to, and if ti would be beneficial to me to seek legal counsel.

My husband has the same problem; however, his payments have not been applied for over three months. They are sent in directly from his employer and the checks have been cashed - just not applied to his account. They have garnished wages, placed a hold on his checking account and have pulled his license. The information has been provided to them several times and numerous calls have been placed. The same run-around has been provided. How do we get the payments applied to the CORRECT account?

Florida Department of Revenue child support services

It was (almost) nice to see that I'm not the only one dealing with the nonsense of child support enforcement. I spent the money and got a court order with a judge that expressly outlined the amount my ex was supposed to pay as well as the thousands in arrears that he owed. It took 6 months after that court order for Florida Child Support to actually show the order on the website, but they continue to ignore the arrears (now over $12, 000) and haven't enforced the order or done anything to try to collect this money as they say "he lives in another state and they need to make sure the other state shouldn't be responsible for collecting these arrears." I check back every 2 weeks and all I hear is "we haven't heard from the other state. Check back in 2 weeks". I've been hearing that for months now. The thing is, if I have a signed order from a judge, why isn't that enough?
