I am very sorry that you lost your baby and my heart goes out to you for that. I see no one else has replied to this but for the record, Elizabeth was very ill at the time that you wrote, August 2017, and passed away 6 months later. I hope that you are able to find some empathy for her. It was not like her to not reply to someone in need. Sadly, there are not many organizations out there that can help with veterinary emergencies. Elizabeth was a pioneer with For The Love of Alex. Thank you for loving your baby so much and trying to do the very best for her.

You should not be feeding your cat dry food/kibble. It is too dehydrating, and seriously damaging to kidneys. Check out Dr Lisa Pierson's website to see how harmful dry feeding is. Diabetes, urinary blockages, kidney disease, cancers...are all caused by feeding dry food.
You are the one to have caused your poor innocent cat harm by not becoming properly informed. Dry food is not just too dehydrating, it also has way too many carbs. Also, it's made of utter garbage, and has extremely poor nutritional value.
You should feed a raw diet like the vet recipe that Dr Pierson's gives, or canned with no grains and no carbs. Ziwipeak make some good products, among the best out there. Purina, Hill's, IAMS, etc, sell garbage, canned or dry.
Also, never let your cat near any so-called prescription food. It's a marketing gimmick. If you feed your cat the right way, you won't ever need crap like prescription diets, or the suffering your cat has gone through with dry feeding.
Shame on you for what you've done to your kitty.

For the Love of animals sends receipts to everyone so your claim that they’re pocketing the cash outrageously false! Business owner you are not; especially NON-PROFIT or you’d know how record keeping works!

A very similar situation has happened with me with these same people, for the love of alex. They refused to give my kitten the help that he needed which was a pu surgery because he was unable to urinate on his own. Three different surgeon suggested that he get the Pu surgery but for the love of Alex refused saying it was inhumane and calling me all types of names. They pulled their funding but continued to mislead people on there Facebook page for the love of Alex. They continue to post pictures of my kitten that are old and outdated making it seem like he is still under their care and they continue to collect money from these people that are donating but are not funding him. I don't know what is going on with the money but I assume it's going in someone's Pockets because it is not being used for my kitten surgery. I am paying for my kitten surgery through funds being raised through my GoFundMe account. For the love of Alex went to my GoFundMe page and try to report me saying I was scamming people and they are the ones that are stealing pictures of my cat and posting them making people believe they are donating money to help this kitten get his surgery.
When my friends and my own Veterinary go to her Facebook group to post a comment stating that they are not funding my cat and that they need to stop misleading people and stealing their money, for the love of Alex will block and delete them. They will also remove any comments that were left on their page speaking against them.
When in contact with them they refused to give me their name when they were collecting my information. I was told that that it was not important to know the name of the person I was speaking with. I had asked the person to please call me so I could stop messaging on Facebook but they would not call and speak to me on the phone either. Something needs to be done. They cannot continue to steal people's money like they have been. There are so many other complaints online about the same organization. They need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau as well as the IRS and the police need to be notified

You have balls to sit there and threaten someone that you will sue them for writing a review about you. Your nonprofit is a fraud. You take donations to help families save their pets from life threatening illnesses. Yet when someone pleas for help from you, you not only ignore their plea you BLOCK THEM from any communication to your organization. You are the most cruel and heartless piece of crap. I WILL be contacting an attorney, and also filing a formal complaint about you. I had to put my dog to sleep, because you were my last resort. You didn't even have the decency to respond and tell me you organization was not able to help, or offer me resources. Sad part is, you KNEW I was at the vet making that tough decision, but didn't care.

For The Love of Alex — Unethical behavior and false info about funding sick animals

here is my formal complaint

This organization is fake and horrible. There are 13 other complaints about For the Love of Alex, myself being one of them.
I wrote to this organization when my cat needed emergency surgery and after putting almost $3000 of our own money into her care, we could not afford her surgery. She had a kidney stone fully blocking her ureter and she needed surgery ASAP, because her kidneys started showing disease and one was swollen. She is 3 years old and this whole situation broke our hearts, I cried for a week straight.
After multiple back and forth messages with For The Love of Alex, it became clear very quickly that she had no intent of sending us an application for financial assistance. She told us to change our cats diet for 6 weeks and her stones would magically disappear. I have been working with animals for 20 years, so I knew right away that her information was false and could have killed my cat. I told her that she is not a vet and should not be giving out advice as she had to us, because she would kill someones animal. At that point, she called us "mean" and blocked me from messaging her.
During my cats first surgery, they found a major infection and that her kidneys were damaged. After they placed the sub system in (to reroute her a new ureter to her bladder from the kidney), she did not improve and they found that her kidney was leaking and needed to be removed because it was beyond repair. It was filled with puss and leaking fluid into her body. At this point, her care cost us $6500, which yet we still couldn't afford. We planned on getting married in August, so during all this we cancelled anything we could, because our cat meant so much to us. During this ordeal, we started a GoFundMe page, to help us with her medical expenses.
About a day or two after her second surgery to remove the leaking kidney, I had posted an update to her donors and our friends discussing what had happened with our cats surgery, etc. For the Love of Alex proceeded to message me on FB bashing us for feeding our cat dry food, yet again. She also bashed our doctors and mentioned that our "ego" was getting in the way of our cats care. She did not offer us ANY help, just hurtful words and wasted time. I am so angry, because this woman should not be a 501c3 and I plan to take action against her. If you are reading this, I beg you to do the same. I have never in my life met anyone as cruel as her.
The best part of all of this- she went directly to our GoFundMe, took our cats picture directly from the post and used everything in that post against us, telling us that we are killing our cat.
