Took trailer to dealer (Zoomers) for warranty repair, several smaller issues, one major issue. The major issue renders the trailer unusable without causing further damage. That issue is the entire rear of trailer is out of square, causing the ramp door to not close properly.. at present not one single problem has been resolved. The trailer was dropped off January 24, 2018. I have repeatedly called Forest River, to no avail. Diane Daly to be specific. At present it is supposed to be sent up to Forest River around end of April to be worked in to their schedule. So over 3 months before it gets worked on, or longer, if it can even be repaired. That is also 1/3 of my warranty period used up sitting in a dealerships back lot, uncovered and being weathered. I have been given the run around with no resolution, and been deprived of the use of my property
2016 wildwood lodge 4x4twd321gm055362 4092bfl
Below you will find a timeline of events that has occurred with our unit. It seems that I cannot get anyone knowledgeable and reliable to assist in diagnosing the issues of this Lodge. I believe that there is a serious electrical issue such as a wire being severed during the construction which causes continued issues with electrical components. Since purchasing in July 2015 this unit has not been full functioning and I feel that anyone who purchases a brand new unit expects it to function like a brand new unit. I will continue to reach out to representatives of Forest River and International RV in Elkhart, Indiana until I get resolution that I am satisfied with.
I am sending this e-mail in hopes of resolving the ongoing issues with our 2016 Wildwood Lodge. We purchased our unit from International RV and it was delivered to Jellystone in Plymouth, Indiana on July 1, 2015. It was noted that any issues we discovered would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty for the first year. After that period, the extended warranty we purchased would cover further issues. During our first year of owning we had several issues (as listed below) occur with the unit. Some which were present at time of deliver and others that occurred as we used. From July 2015 through September 2015 we communicated with various representatives of International RV about our many concerns. Some of the issues were addressed but unfortunately none completely resolved by the end of camping season 2015. Communication with International RV occurred September 21st via e-mail that mobile repair technicians would be making repairs in Jellystone for the last time on September 26th, 2015. On Monday September 28, 2015 an email was sent again to International RV that the furnace still had a strong propane smell when in use. Requested a technician to service the furnace. Return email received that owner would be notified. This issue was not resolved until Spring of 2016 when it was determined that furnace did have propane leak and new furnace was put in. In August 2016 I made a call to Coachmen RV and spoke with a Wayne about all the issues we had experienced and the difficulties in getting the repairs done and was told that Forest River had no responsibility for these issues and do contact dealer. Throughout the camping season of 2016 and 2017 we had multiple visits from International RV mobile repair technicians and despite changing rear AC unit, thermostat for both AC units and replacing the "brain" of the front AC unit both units continued to have problems. At the beginning of June 2017 International RV was approached, in person, at Jellystone in Plymouth, Indiana about all the issues that still had not been addressed or resolved since the purchase of the unit (with concern placed mainly on AC units). Around June 8th, 2017 International RV sent Aaron Druesedow, from Extreme RV Repair from Nappanee, Indiana, to determine the issues with the AC units. It was determined at that time it would be best to replace both AC units and all components. Mr. Druesedow was able to temporarily get the rear unit to work for an approximately 3 days. Along with the AC units, all the other defective items throughout the unit were brought to his attention and he agreed to repair. Mr. Druesedow reported he would speak with International RV about getting him the needs parts to repair the items (as listed below). He also commented that the extended warranty sold at time of purchase would not cover any of the items we had reported as problematic. Between June 8, 2017 and July 10, 2017 Aaron Druesedow made multiple service calls to the unit with the last visit being July 10, 2017. On July 10th Mr. Druesedow determined that it would be best to upgrade the breaker box and converter as he felt they were not functioning properly. At this time, he requested close to $1000.00 cash to order needed parts to compete the work. This request seemed very peculiar and lead us to perform a search of Aaron Druesedow and his business. It was then discovered that Mr. Druesedow had previous arrests for check deception and theft, along with a report on him and his RV repair business being a scam. International RV was notified immediately of the concerns with Mr. Druesedow and him requesting a large amount of cash and instruction was received to not allow Mr. Druesedow back to do any repairs. International RV then sent two technicians of their own to repair the AC units as well as perform other repairs as listed below. On July 19, 2017 the technicians spent almost an entire day working on AC units and drawer glides. At the end of the service call it was again determined that the unit would benefit from 2 new AC units and all components. The technicians reported they would return to Elkhart office and speak with service manager about ordering the AC units and they would call to inform the outcome of this request and to schedule another day to make return service call. That was the last communication with International RV. On Monday August 21, 2017 out of desperation an e-mail was sent to Miranda Blackburn at Forest River Wildwood costumer service department. The email listed in depth the issues with the unit and a response was received the next day. A mobile technician was sent to our unit to address all the issues in September 2017. The technician, Ricky Nelson, repaired many of the items that needed repair with no charge on behalf of Forest River. This was much appreciated and a relief to finally have made progress toward having a trailer that functioned properly. On the last visit made by Mr. Nelson I requested the furnace be inspected as it would not work a few days prior to this. Mr. Nelson turned furnace on and had no issues with it working during the visit. At this point there was a sense of relief that the trailer was finally, for the most part, a working unit. However, in mid-October when winterizing the unit, the furnace once again did not turn on after several attempts. Along with the furnace not working on this date the water pump would not work. The water pump has been used two times and for the sole purpose of winterizing our unit. Unfortunately, the campground closes for the winter therefore we had to wait until just recently to open the camper and be able to contact a technician to help us with these issues. On March 18, 2018 the unit was opened, and furnace checked again and still not working. During opening the unit, it was now noted that none of the lights worked in the bedroom and loft. This issue is very upsetting even if seen as minor. Since purchasing our Wildwood Lodge on July 1, 2015 it has not once worked completely from top to bottom and front to back. There has always been some sort of issue that needs attention and the lack of motivation to fix is disturbing. We feel that this unit has been nothing but a burden and regret purchasing. Not only the annoyance of needing constant repair has troubled us but the genuine concern for safety continuously weighs on us. We are seeking to trade this unit in for a new unit and need to have issues resolved as well as a new love seat sofa bed. Please advise as the best route for us to have these issues addressed and repaired asap to proceed with the purchasing of our new unit.
Thank-you for your time,
Kelli Bennett
P.S. Below please find the list of issues with description.
2016 Wildwood Lodge 4092BFL Problems List
1. Air conditioner units (front unit received new "brain" and thermostat and rear unit has been replaced completely as well as new thermostat) neither are working to the fullest potential. Front unit short cycles frequently and the rear unit fan will not run on low setting when air conditioning is turned on and frequently freezes up and makes a loud buzzing sound. Received 2 new AC units in September of 2017. Rear unit continue to have problems with the AC being used and the fan on low. The fan will not run continuous unless on high with AC being on. Fan will run on low only with AC unit turns on. Was told this is how the AC units work.
2. Furnace was replaced Spring on 2016 due to leak of propane into the camper. Fall of 2017 the furnace again stopped working. Forest River technician was asked to inspect, and he reported no problems with furnace. Spring of 2018 attempted to use furnace and again furnace would not turn on. On March 12, 2018 contacted Miranda Blackburn with Forest River and was told to contact furnace company directly. March 18, 2018 opened camper for season and furnace continue to not turn on and run.
3. New radio had to be installed due to a recall.
4. Outdoor speaker found to not work and replaced.
5. We have had to replace the heating element in the water heater 3 times. New water heater was installed in September 2017 by Forest River technician.
6. Most of the drawers in the camper are crooked, 2 drawers tracks have been broken since we purchased, and 1 drawer had the entire bottom fall off. Drawer repair done to most drawers by Forest River technician in September of 2017. March 18, 2018 kitchen drawers continue to not function properly. 2 large drawers: one falls off glide and the other does not stay completely shut
7. Shelf in cabinet was installed crooked. Remains uneven.
8. Large scratch in counter. Attempted to buff scratch out however too deep and therefore new counter top was installed by Forest River technician in September 2017.
9. Screen slider door hasn't worked properly since purchasing. Instructed to continue to adjust until it will slide properly. Has even fallen off the camper a few times.
10. Shower has leaked despite many attempts by us to caulk. The shower still leaks if water sprays directly on shower door. Technician from Forest River attempted to fix in September 2017 but unsuccessful.
11. Shower door fell off as brackets on track broke. We had to repair ourselves.
12. Staples are sticking out of the wall in hallway which as a result wall is not secured. Wall panel was secured by Forest River technician in September 2017.
13. Dining chairs bottom fell off 2 of the chairs. The compartment was holding only paper when the bottoms fell off. No repairs done to chairs and eventually all the bottoms fell off the 4 dining chairs. Repaired the chairs ourselves.
14. Sofa sleeper bed hinge broke in Spring of 2017 in which bed could not be folded back into loveseat. Had to dispose of loveseat after being used for one year.
15. Kitchen sink seal was done improperly, and leaking occurred. We had to caulk ourselves to prevent water damage under the sink.
16. Kitchen sink pipe leaking and repaired ourselves by replacing portion of pipe under the sink in Summer of 2017
17. Vacuum head attachment broke during the first use. Vacuum head still broken and central vac system not usable.
18. Light switch in bedroom was wired poorly and became very hot and could have started a fire. We had to replace the switch. Old switch was black/burned at connection. In Fall of 2017 Forest River technician did inspect but reported he didn't see anything wrong.
19. Carpet started to fray at the edges approximately 9 months after purchasing. Portion of carpet was replaced by Forest River in Fall of 2017.
20. Water pump used in Fall of 2015 and Fall of 2016 to winterize. October of 2017 attempted to winterize, and pump would not work despite many efforts to prime. Contacted Miranda Blackburn on March 12, 2018 at Forest River and was told not covered any longer as camper is 2 years outside it's warranty.
21. Bathroom towel holder loose from date of purchase. Not able to tighten due to screws stripped.
22. March 18. 2018 opened camper and no lights work in bedroom and loft of camper. Will check all fuses and replace as needed. Arrived at camper on March 21, 2018 to follow up on lights at rear of camper and also to check fuses. Lights in both bedroom and loft came on right away. Checked all fuses as well and all noted to be working. Very concerning how these electrical issues work one day and not the next.
2017 cardinal
I purchased this About 4 months ago . Been talking to Chris the warranty supervisor who lied and said they would stand beside it . I am filing a law suit today if any other consumers have been ripped off by Forrest River contact me and we can do a class action against them. Here is my email [protected]@me.com. Here is all the list: 1)The bed dug into the carpet and breaking the bed frame, tearing the carpet, cracking the dresser. 2)While driving down the road the window blew-out in the bedroom leaving a gaping hole. 3)The hot water heater only worked on electric mode. 3) heater doesn't come on more than half the time 4)One of the lights in the kitchen came unbolted and broke 5)Water leaks in both baths behind both commodes 6) shower door gaps are facing the shower head pouring water on the floor 7) Oven door will not stay on
Talked to United Rv where I purchased it and was told that I was responsible for the repairs when they haven’t even looked . Forest River is the worst company you can buy from . I am telling you DO NOT BUY FROM THEM . This stuff was put in backwards . This is the worst Rv I have ever had . It looks like it is 10 years old and I have had it 4 months
Sanibel model 3551 5th wheel
Like others this was my first purchase of a 5th wheel. It was purchased new, 2016. I signed the paperwork Feb 28 and did not get the unit until April 1st. There were a few things that we supposed to be fixed before delivery and they never were. I have countless emails and promises that have lead to nothing. Unfortunately, I live in this unit and have spent the winter without heat. I have made countless phone calls and sent numerous emails, but no response from anyone.
Maybe this posting will get someone to actually contact me and help me get the major issues fixed.
If anyone has any ideas who I could contact for real help, please drop a line to [protected]@verizon.net
2018 forest river forester 2291s
My wife and purchased this coach this past October 2017. We love the layout/floorplan and, but I am quite disappointed in the quality of it as we have already experienced water leaks in the rear bedroom window (which caused staining of our mattress and patchwork to the rear window using silicone), the shade is extremely "fussy" to keep down in the dining area, the interior wood veneer is already starting to peel away, our water pump makes a moaning noise every time we use it (It sounds as though it is dying a slow and painful death already) and many other quality issues that could have been mitigated had Forest River done a more thorough job in their quality department. I have taken it back to the dealer for them to review, but I fear that when I take it to them that it would take them months just to solve an issue that would only take me hours to resolve. Could I simply be shipped the parts and replace myself? Please advise.
Please advise how issues may be fixed, while minimizing the time spent at dealership.
We have just bought a 2018 sandpiper 5th wheel...5th day in...Door lock came out with the key...Same night...Gray water holding tank fell from underbelly ripping everything out. They have to fix it because its under warranty but they are refusing to cover my hotel expenses which are now at $2, 000...Customer service is a joke...Quality is poor...Please review and research forest river before you buy anything from them. Apparently they do not have a quality control team...This one is gone as soon as possible.
2017 wildwood trailer
We purchased the trailer in alabama. When the company delivered it the jack broke when taking it off the hitch. It fell back onto the men's truck hitch. The next day they brought another jack for the trailer. This jack did not meet requirements for the weight of the trailer. We had the trailer professionally moved to indiana. Again when jacking up trailer off truck it broke. I contacted forest river in elkhart indiana. They requested a picture is the jack, which I did send. (see pictures). I have called several time, leaving a voicemail. I asked for a jack that would be for the weight load of my trailer. We also have had faucet in kitchen fall off into the sink. Slides on drawers were not screwed in, allowing drawers to fall out of dresser. If this company would replace the jack I would be satisfied.
Puma 30rlis
Purchased a 2018 Puma in August. Couldn't get the radio to work. Couldn't figure out how to get sound out of tv. There were no manuals. Took unit back three times and soundbar was replaced and it was found that the tv didn't work because cable connections ouside trailer had been mislabled. Even though we were camping outside a metropolitan area with 6 tv stations, couldn't get air wave antennae tuned. No manuals to explain where/how to prep tv or tune antennae. Was told to go to web. Well...sometimes a person camps in an area where there isn't that kind of service. Not even a phone. The unit now sits at where it's being gone over from front to back to make sure that everything is going to work properly because we will be dry camping for four months come May. They will also be trying to locate a drain on the battery. With everything off, the new battery drains in 8 hours. The complaint? I'm being charged $125.00 an hour for the complete system check. I'm OK with checking plumbing, wheels, bearings, etc. However, if there is a problem with the electrics, and it takes hours/days/weeks to find it, I won't be able to afford that trip! Last and final item: the rear bumper points upwards. Not immediately noticible until I was using the grill that attaches to the bumper. Closer exam showed that it wasn't welded up square. I pointed that out and (and I suspected) the mechanic found telltale scratches where the bumper had scraped the ground. I doubt that there's a camper out there that doesn't have some sign of scraping to the bumper. Both of my previous Jayco's did. Anyway, I know something about welding and stress and it's obvious that to have the bumper sitting at the angle it is, it would have take a significant impact. Enough to bend the frame or break the welds. No sign of either. Not even a paint crack. A person with no welding experience can look at the bumper and see that it was installed incorrectly. It wouldn't be that big a deal except that it becomes obvious when using the grill. And now that I noticed it, it's obvious how the spare tire tilts towards the trailer. They want to cut it off and reinstall it. I'm good with it except for the charge. I put it on hold until your response. What kind of quality control do you people have? I had to visit a repair center twice before it was found that the cable hookups were wrong. The bumper is welded up wrong. There are no manuals to help a guy along. I'm paying $99.00 to have the unit winterized when I did both Jayco's myself. They came with manuals. I can't find bypass valves in the Puma. I don't know if all the water is out of the lines or not. Anyway, we like the unit, plan to keep it, and just want it repaired and dependable. Like I mentioned, we'll be dry camping for five months and it won't be conveniant to break the unit down, drag it several hundred miles for warranty work, drag it back, set it up, break it down and drag it several hundred miles to have part installed, take it back and set it up again. Won't be back until September and the warranty will be out by then. So, please place yourself in our place and you should understand the frustration. Thanks for your attention. W. W. Blankenship
Beware of the "DESIGN FLAW"! We purchased the Puma 28FQDB-we noticed that the floor was soft and had a bounce to it. Took it in to Camping Word (where we bought it) and our merry go round begins but it just was not MERRY. Camping World went back and forth with us on the fix, first saying it was under warranty, then not, then it is, then not. By the way their service department is one sad example of customer service. This went on for over two months before we got it back. Then they said that Forest River (Puma) said it was not under warranty, Camping Worlds exact comment was "it is a flaw in their design". Every time we got a call or didn't get a call and had to leave message after message they said they did the best they could by putting a board (2x4) support between the floor and beam. That's right it was that much of a bounce. They said that the "FLAW in DESIGN" went the entire length. Is it better, yes but not corrected, there is still a bounce in front of the sink area. Who knows how long their redneck fix is going to work for the middle of the trailer.
Forest river vibe
Purchased a brand new Forest River VIBE from Sierra RV in Ogden. My husband picked it up on 12/08 brought it home. In the evening when he was showing it to me he turned the TV on and it wouldn't turn on. He looked at the back and the wires are broken. We immediately contacted our Salesperson Jim, who advised us to take photos and email them to him, which we did. We also stopped in the dealership to check in he advised us he has not heard from Forest River. We called after 2 weeks or so and he again advised these things take time but I submitted it the day you provided me with the photos. 1 month later my husband walks into Sierra RV and was advised JIM was not there but he did not submit the claim. Now they want us to drive our RV up there, leave it so they can investigate. What kind of racket is this? Its a cheap TV, that is NOT the point. This is a brand new rig and should be under warranty. When the walk through was done the TV was turned on, nobody looked at the back to see if the wires were all ok. Bad salesmen, bad service
Rockwood travel trailer camper
In 2016 we purchased a Rockwood Mini Light with a Murphy bed and bunks. We had 2 camping trips in 2016. First of the camping season this year there was a recall on the hitch jack. We took it in for the fix. Our first camping trip in 2017 we took it down the road in rain the floor flooded and the front wall was wet. The panel on the fridge door dropped down. We took it back to the dealer and were told the factory failed to seal a reflector on the front of the camper causing the wall leak and there was nothing under the camper to deflect road spray causing the water on the floor. The service department did a fix. Then the wallboard began to ripple below the leak. A few days later I noted a strong gas odor and heard a hissing sound coming from the gas tank closet. A gasket had let go and an entire tank of gas had leaked out. We took it back to the dealer again. Our 3rd trip for repairs on a brand new camper! The dealer agreed we'd had an "unusual number of frustrations and offered us a refund on a trade in. Add a few thousand dollars and we got a 2018 Rockwood 2606 WS. Our first camping trip out it rained for 3 days, at night it was about 50 degrees so we ran the furnace or a space heater and also had a fan going Day and night to move the air around. When we were packing up we discovered water beaded up inside the cabinets on both slide outs and puddling at the bottom of the wardrobe causing our clothes to be damp. Again we took it back to the dealer. This time we were told it was condensation formed from our breathing and the cooler humid weather. We were also told we should have been running a dehumidifier. This was never discussed during the sale. A couple days later the dealer called and said he had spoken to the factory which recognizes that condensation has been an issue with some of their products. The suggested fix is awnings over both slide outs and a dehumidifier, all at our expense. We no longer trust our dealer and have completely lost confidence in the Rockwood line and Forest River Company. This is our 7th camper and our last Forest River. We will go back to Jayco.
Warranty service
I have a 2017 Nitro Toy Hauler that I have not used yet. It has the sport Screen in the back and this screen is pulled out of the base channel. My local dealer agrees with this being warranty but Forest River will not cover it. I have tried to email and call Diane Daily but she will not return calls. I have spoken and emailed Donald Burgess and he will not warranty it. He told me to call the vendor of the screen to argue my point. He will not give me a contact of someone hire up in Forest River because he said he would get fired if he gave me a name. I have the phone call recorded for verification purposes. I cannot go back to my purchasing dealer as they are located out of state. Any Forest River dealer should be able to honor a Forest River warranty. Bottom line is I have a warranty on this Toy Hauler that no one will honor. All I want is the screen repaired or replaced to my satisfaction.
Forest river dealership / warranty
We purchased a Forest River XLR in Dec 2016
New We were thrilled as first time buyers
Our sales person was very good BUT that's the end of good experience
SERVICE DEPT not good and it was and continues to be a S--- Show
When we initially arrived to pickup our unit for the walk thru, there was No one available to do the walk thru correctly so they scrambled and gave us this guy from service to "to do walk thru" who never informed us we needed to complete a form. Good thing, I took pictures and wrote down our own list of all VISIBLE issues there were a few things that needed to be repaired &/or fixed. MOST IMPORTANTLY Still a 2x2 slash on the linoleum which is in the main walkway. (Looks like they tried to "fix" by gluing it not good ) But We were assured that there would be no problem as All was covered under warranty. We discussed the apparent issues with service lady who entered info into "system" to place parts in order and would call us when they arrived and were approved by Forest River
No one called, so we called DAP in late January 2017 arranged to come for our flooring, grab handle, refrigerator issue & a repair for rattling from the brakes which was a warranty issue
When we went to pickup Our unit the flooring was not ordered no grab handle, refrigerator issues not addressed but they did "fix" our brakes which were warranty issue (later come to find out on a July trip that the brakes were not installed correctly! ) While going downhill in Northern California ! Dangerous!
we've tried to numerous times never returning call we still had not heard from DAP about the parts or service work needed.
All of a sudden a random call that our flooring is in along with other parts ! We Made appointment to discuss lack of customer service and the seriousness of the improperly installed brakes while we were in hills of N California on vacation with GM Justin and FR Customer Service Rep Eric I explained clearly our disappointment in their lack of customer service and service Dept. Told again the unit was under warranty, so issues would be fixed We also gave the receipts and pictures for reiembursement for repairs done because of DAP service not installing brakes correctly
No reiembursement as of yet! Reluctantly We made arrangements to take the unit in again assured it would be completely repaired within 1week.
GM assured me we would be fixed and on the rode in 1 week (Aug2017)
When we returned to pick up only to have it WRONG FLOORING so they could not install and very few items fixed( refrigerator still not working) Some parts " ordered" AND to TOP it off OUR TV and Honda generator STOLEN from their SECURED lot! Ours in 1 of several that had also been broken into mysteriously
DAP did replace TV and Generator, Thks
We left our unit again in their " secured lot"
On the our planned holiday getaway weekend!
The saddest thing here is we have so many issues, not even mentioned on this post but DAP is aware of
All could have been avoided if this business really cared about their customers who just spent a lot of $$$$$$ By follow-up calling customers back and fixing the problems!
Sad reflection on Owner / GM and Forest River
For those of you that just bought a unit here and are thrilled as we once were and gave them 5 stars BEWARE ! stay on them for your upcoming future repairs document everything even the unspoken promises
We want our unit back FIXED!
My husband received a call " correct floor in but it's gonna be a big project" other parts in but not fixed!
Why ?! cause it's gonna be a Long Holiday weekend!
SO HERE WE SIT AT HOME ON A LONG Labor day weekend ! Instead of enjoying our FR XLR To say that we will NEVER return to this dealership is an understatement.
So sad. Nobody seems to care
Water coming one under motorhome when traveling wet, rainy roads.
Water do we in under motor home when driven on wet, rainy roads. Floor gets wet from camper door to the step up to bathroom. Under the slide also. Some seals have been replaced. Had it back twice to no avail. It's a 2016 leprechaun purchased last year. We are extremely frustrated. Not covered by warranty, so we are told. Can anyone please help us?!
Poor workmanship
The tail pipe coming from the shower drain became disconnected from the trap and all the shower water drained into the insulation and was held there by the under belly. When the hole was cut in the subfloor for the drain it was cut too big and the 2x3 support for the drain area was just sitting there with no floor to support it. The dealer sent their mechanic to cut the membrane and expose the wet insulation, joists and subfloor. I was disappointed to see how many nails missed the joists. Further inspection showed a 2x3 that was cut halfway through prior to assembly but was used as a floor joists anyway. I consider this sloppy workmanship.
2017 forest river sierra 393rl destination rv
Bought brand new rv 2017 Forest River Sierra 393rl Destination rv, ceiling fan in bedroom never worked right made grinding noise quit on high wall switch gets hot.
bedroom a/c broke already will not shut off .
Over half the interior lights went out if they do work they flicker bad .
Shower glass doors have cracks at the handles
The, toilet had one bolt holding it in . Do not know what is going to break next very poor quality control dealer giving hard time on warranty work . Had barely three months
2014 georgetown 335ds motorhome soft floor and rusting pantry sliding shelf.
We ordered a new 2014 Forest River Georgetown 335DS in January 2013, foe delivery in May 2013. We have had several issues with this unit and, to date, they have all been corrected with the exception of a rusting pantry sliding shelf and soft spots appearing in the floor in several locations. There doesn't appear to be any water leaks, so, the only thing that I can think of is faulty material used in the flooring. I contacted the dealership and was told that these issues weren't covered by the manufacturer. Who else used the inferior product to build their product. I think that the shelf should be replaced and the floor should be repaired professionally.
Siding coming off side of travel trailer
Purchased 2014 Salem travel trailer and had it for a month when siding began to bubble. Broadmoor RV in Pasco WA. fixed this issue and now 3 years later with only using trailer 5 times it is happening again on opposite side of trailer. Called forest river and they would not help fix faulty construction and warranty does not cover there crappy workmanship. Broadmoor RV would not help either so I have to pay to fix my crappy made travel trailer from Forest River. Do NOT buy any of there products as they don't stand behind there terribly contructed trailers. There customer service is AWFUL yet on there Web site it says 'customer satisfaction is number one priority' - this company is PATHETIC!
2017 sandpiper 377flik
Dometic A/C does not communicate with the thermostat. Both units quit on our last trip and can't get anyone to even look at it for 3 more weeks.(It's already been 3 weeks, so 6 weeks total) Dometic knows they have a problem and neither Forest River nor Dometic want to do the right thing and get it fixed before the summer is over and I lose another non refundable week, Labor Day. I have already lost 2 days when it broke and I went to a Hotel and last week that was already paid for and non-refundable. I already have the same for Labor Day.
All I want is the Board in the A/C replaced like they have had to do on so many already.
Emission system
In January of 2017 I purchased a used 2013 Forest River Solara with approximately 11, 800 miles on it from Motor Homes 2 Go, (mhs2go.com), in Grand Rapids, Michigan. ( V.I.N. WDAPF4CC6E9577647). My wife and I drove up from Rockport, TX. in our 2012 Toyota Camry. We got to West Memphis, Ark. and the check engine, and DEF light came on and it would not go more than 5 mph. I checked the DEF and it was full. I called the Mercedes number listed in the book and they said they were unable to locate a provider to tow us to Memphis, Tenn. to have it repaired by TAG Truck Enterprises MED Duty, 673 E. Brooks Rd., Memphis, Tenn., 38116, [protected], Fax, [protected]. Since Mercedes wouldn't assist us we had to use our Good Sam membership, and they located a provider very promptly. It was towed there on 01/24/17 with 12, 507 mi. on the odometer. Since I had no service record on the vehicle they suggested performing the 20, 000 mi. service requirements which they did and I paid $477.19 for, Service invoice #R607014697:01. They performed Sprinter warranty work on it Service Order#R67014697, which involved the emissions system. We picked it up on 1/26/17, after spending 4 nights in a La Quinta motel, at a cost of about $480, plus time lost.
Then on 7/07/17, while traveling to Ft. Stockton, TX., the check engine light & the DEF light came on again. Again we contacted the Mercedes Benz Co. to have it towed to the closest Mercedes dealer in Midland, TX. They said our vehicle was out of warranty and it would cost about $350. So, we called Good Sam again and they promptly responded and towed our vehicle to Alderson Mercedes-Benz in Midland, TX., [protected], 5801 Andrews Hwy, Midland, TX. 79706. Mileage in, 17, 339mi, mileage out, 17, 342. It arrived in Midland on 7/08/17, and we picked it up on 7/11/17.
We spent 5 nights in a La Quinta motel at a cost of about $600 plus time lost.
Then on 7/18/17 in Santa Fe, NM, the check engine light and the DEF light came on again. We drove it to Mercedes-Benz of Santa Fe. It had 17, 757 miles on it. They performed emissions service on it and we were able to pick it up on 7/21/17 after spending four more nights in a La Quinta motel
at a cost of about $480.00 and time lost. Mileage out, 17, 759. invoice #M8CS69607. All of the work was warranty related. The dealer address is 2586 Camino Entrada, Santa Fe, NM, 87507, [protected].
My DOB is 10/11/38 and we purchased a Mercedes because we owned a 1958 180 A, and it was very reliable and this is what you want while traveling in desert country and out of cell phone range. My wife's DOB is
3/19/41 and we've been married over 50 yrs. We bought the Solara for pleasure and dependability, neither of which has happened.
I feel Mercedes or Forrest River should pay for our motel stays, and reimburse Good Sam for the towing services. Todays date is 7/30/17 and we are in Gunnison, CO and so far have had no problems, so what was done in Santa Fe, seems to be working so far.
I do not have the capability of sending you copies of the invoices, but I feel that if you contact the provided dealers they can provide them for you.

Leather/ not so much captains chairs and sofa
We purchased a 2013 Coachmen Mirada/Forest River 34 BH Motorhome. We have been enjoying it with very few issues. We have 35, 000 miles on it and use it in the month of July and a few short weekends. It is my husband and myself and we are non smokers with no pets. Over the last few months we have noticed that the so called leather is peeling, actually flaking. I have read numerous others have experienced the same thing. Who do I contact to get this issue resolved? I appreciate any information you can give me.
Sincerely,
Mr. & Mrs. Andrew De Piano

2017 salem forest river travel trailer
My husband and I purchased a 2017 Salem Forest River on May 20, 2017. We were very excited as this was our first camper purchase. Sadly, this sale and experience have gone down the drain. We purchased from Horizon RV in Lake Park Georgia. When we arrived home, we excitedly opened our new camper only to find it full of water. All carpet on both slides were soaked, the floor vent in front of fridge was full of water and you could see where water had traveled about 4 inches in the wood wall where fuse box is. We called our salesman Drew, who told us that was what the warranty was for. I disagree. We had just bought it and should be using our warranty! We were referred to Steve Wycowski at the dealership whom I believe is the manager. After several upsetting phone calls he sent out a man that used to work for him named Bob. When Bob arrived we showed him the pop bottle size hole on the bottom of the unit that could be seen from inside when the slides were shut. He moved a rubber sealer and thought it was fixed. Steve told us to go camping as planned that weekend. We went camping and had several other issues: outdoor kitchen door was broke, rear jack was bent, gutter leaked when it was raining, kitchen sink was only half caulked, bathroom insert was pulling away from wall and not caulked at top, bunk house cabinet door was damaged and would not shut properly, window coverings by jack knife sofa had 1 missing and 1 broke, and all the decals on the outside were bubbling or peeling. We called Steve while camping and sent an email with pictures of all the problems. He said he would take of everything, except that the bubbling decals was normal. He even told my husband that all his units on his lot had bubbling decals and that we needed to take a pin and pop them! We finished our 3 day camping trip and headed home. When we got home we opened up the unit to find it full of water again. I called Steve and he sent me to voice mail. My husband called Steve to explain the issues again and Steve told him he was too drunk to talk right now and to call him in the morning. Very professional. When we spoke with him again the following day he told us to drive the unit back 4 1/2 hours to him. We did not feel this was right. After several phone calls he agreed to send his driver to pick up the unit, 4 days later. The unit was with Horizon RV from June 8-June 23. When it was returned Steve assured us all issues were taken care of. The decals were still not taken care of, cabinet door not replace, someone did a terrible job on caulking, gutters still leak, self adhesive Velcro strips were used to correct/replace the broken/missing window covering latches, and yes, after driving the unit 58 miles in the rain, it was full of water again. This time Steve referred the unit to another dealer. The unit was there from June 26-July 15, 2017. This shop thought they had addressed the water leak problem. My husband picked the unit up on July 15 drive it 2 hours in the rain, and it was full of water again. This shop kindly told us to bring it right back to them for further review and the unit is with them again.
I understand that there maybe some quirks to work out in a new unit but the water leak issue is ridiculous! Now 4 times the carpet has been soaked and I am sure mold is growing in it that will affect the health of my 3 young children. We bought this unit so we could spend quality time with our family camping and it has been a nightmare! I have had to pay the insurance up front and am about to make my second loan payment but have only been able to use the unit 1 time.
As of July 17, 2017 the rear jack has been replaced, sink and shower surround poorly caulked, window treatment hardware was replaced with self adhesive velco, outside kitchen door was replaced. Water still leaks from gutters and all inside unit when rains and driven in rain. Unit is at a shop for continued repairs...the 4th time! No compensation has been made or offered other than Forest River warranty offering to buy my family jackets! This company is a joke and should be sued by every person I have read about that has had terrible issues with Forest River!
