On 7/29/2022, I received a letter stating that my application for a loan was denied. I never made an application to this company and never signed anything allowing them to check my credit. This is plainly fraud. I would like someone to tell me who applied for a loan using my information.

Requested an unsecured personal loan for $40,000
Requested an unsecured personal loan for $40,000. They pushed me through the process and gave no notice that there was a $2,000 loan initiation fee. I received $38,000 which didn't cover me for what I needed and agreed to. Now I owe them the full $40,000. This is a shady business and business practice.

Received a letter stating I was denied for a loan, and I have never applied for a loan with this company
Received a letter stating I was denied for a loan, and I have never applied for a loan with this company. I did respond to an add for inground pool financing, but was being called and texted constantly despite telling reps repeatedly that I had not applied, did not intend to apply, and did NOT give permission for credit to be run. Responded this way in writing several times before finally blocking the phone numbers. This is the ONLY thing we have even looked into since buyng our home last year. I have not been able to check my credit report yet, but if there is any type of inquiry on my credit from this company, it does not belong there and should be removed immediately. If this is the company that advertises for inground pool loans, their business practices are questionable at best, and the representatives are harassing. Text messages I received so they were contacting me about my loan application, and I responded multiple times that I did not apply for a loan.

Similarly to probably thousands if not millions of other Americans, I was financially affected by the pandemic
Similarly to probably thousands if not millions of other Americans, I was financially affected by the pandemic. Prior to Covid, I never missed a loan payment. After the pandemic began, I lost my stream of income and fell behind on my loan payments. This company presented as extremely predatory in its practices and offered little financial hardship relief options, including lowering the monthly payments so I could stay current with the loan and at least make some form of payment each month as I tried to secure employment.Fast-forward to present day, I have been trying to make a payment and get on track with bringing the loan current but every time I call the the person who I need to speak with, ***, is always at lunch. To make matters worse, the company continues to report negatively to the credit bureaus about missed payments. Apparently, this is the only person who can assist with processing my payment and he is never available. He is the only person who works in this department, or so that is what I . I was told by multiple representatives that the company is understaffed and have even been hung up on countless times when I ask the call to be escalated to a supervisor. Outside of the predatory practices and limited financial hardship relief options, it seems extremely unethical and illegal for a company to delay a consumer from making a payment and reaching an arrangement to bring a loan current while still being able to negatively report to all three credit bureaus.

My husband received a phone call from an unidentified individual claiming to be from Freedom Plus
My husband received a phone call from an individual claiming to be a representative of Freedom Plus. At the time, my husband was looking to consolidate some bills as we've recently started a business. They began the loan process, and it was decided he needed to add me to the application as a co-applicant. I gladly gave him my information, and after a brief hold, he informed us that we were approved. He told us to submit the itemized bills, banking info, W2, and paystub to him via email. We received an email stating our loan has been conditionally approved by the underwriting team, and to continue the process and receive our funds, we needed to provide additional information. A second email stated our approval was valid for thirty days. We submitted the documents and awaited his reply. When my husband called to check the status, he was informed the representative was out of the office. The person he spoke with pulled up our information and informed us that we were not approved; the application was denied. We were very confused. My husband was able to reach the representative the next day, who claimed there seemed to be a mistake and promised to speak with management and call back. I've left two messages within the last five days. We've heard nothing! In reviewing other complaints on the Complaintsboard.com website, I'm confused about how this company achieved an A+ rating. I'm in the legal field and will be taking steps to remove these credit inquiries from both mine and my husband's credit reports, as well as attempt to prevent any other possible breaches this fraudulent company might cause. I will be posting to other sites to make others aware. I'm very disappointed in myself for being vulnerable, as I am a SSD Paralegal; I should have known better. I encourage others to keep a close watch on your accounts and inform your banks and credit card companies of possible fraudulent activity. Stay alert!
