Unwarranted promissory note and harassing.threatening phone calls wanting credit card info over the phone. I cancelled the policy and relationship with the broker and still the phone calls continue, as they are claiming they have "red lighted my account"-whatever that means!

I worked for Freeway Insurance and here is the scoop. Consumers beware! These agents are taught to take your hard working money. There are broker fees that the company pockets, broker fees are NOT part of the premium earned that the company gets from your business. Pretty much they write minimum limits which is the cheapest and target the low income to stuggling communities. If you dont know about insurance and you go to freeway insurance you will be rip off. My advise is to always ask if there is a broker fee and if so I would walk away. Try sticking to a preferred insurance company or agency that charges no broker fees and treat there clients like humans. Whoever is behind freeway insurance has no heart to scam innocent consumers of there hard working money and I will never work for another broker again.

I went online to get an insurance quote for the cars that my Wife drives and freeway insurance call me with a quote of $64.00 a month I said I wanted to pay for the whole year and was told that they can do that but first I needed to hurry and get the contract signed so he can get it to the main office or something like that to lock in the rate .while checking the boxes as instructed and no time to read first there was a box that said $20, 00 for some fee I was told not to worry about it that it would be taken care of with my payment, after all the boxes were checked and they had my credit card number I was informed that they were having problems processing my card and that they could only run it for $221.70 and for me to call back in a few days to pay $812.00 for the rest of the year. When I said that the math don’t add up I was informed that the rate went up because of the type of cars that were being insured. They knew the make model and year of the cars as I gave that information before I received the quotes then they informed me that the new rate was $84.00 a month and when I finally receive a bill from stonewood insurance it is for $88.00 a month. The $64.00 was less than I was paying for insurance the $88.00 is a whole lot more that I’m willing to pay. why would I pay more and get less? First freeway pulled a bait and switch on me, and they also failed to inform me that they were not a insurance company only brokers Out of the $221.70 plus the $20.00 that some software company charged me for freeway insurance to use their software only $91.00 went to the insurance company. So $221.70+20=$241.70 -$91.00=150.70 they can have the $0.70 for the stamp to mail me my money Freeway did call me and offered me $25.00 and when I said I wanted more the freeway person said he would get back to me. I have not heard another word from them since even though I called a few times.

I am a former employee and i'll tell you the truth - these people from the owners to the brokers are dishonest crooks. I had to be also in order to make money. Employees (brokers selling customers the policy) are trained to lie and cheat the customer in various ways! It is expected of employees!
The parent company of freeway insurance (which was purchased in 2006 from a sole proprietor) also owns solo insurance, westcoast insurance and confie seguros.
Brokers are trained to low ball over the phone by giving no down payment and low monthly payments to* lure * the customers in the office, once customers are in front of their desk employees will charge big down payment which includes broker fee of up to $485 (this is the legal limit, otherwise i'm sure it would be higher), and of course higher monthly payments, employees are trained and pressued to lie, lie, lie, they will say it's due to your driving record, but even if you have a clean driving record, they're trained to say because your car is not registered in your name, (all types of lies and excuses which are incorrect).
Also if you go into the office to make a policy change such as adding/dropping vehicle, etc they will quote you higher dishonest prices with your current insurance company in order to sell you another policy because they can charge you another broker fee and receive money for the policy commission as well.
Freeway insurance is currently being sued by it's brokers, assistant managers and managers for unpaid overtime, along with eight other allegations. Think about it, if brokers are treated this way by the owners, you can just imagine how much customers are being ripped off by the owners!

I was sold a policy when I already had an active policy becuase laura martinez told me I was cancelled when I called to tell her my original policy w freeway was active and that I had duplicate coverage she told me too bad and they do not refund! Also that I would have to prove my policy was active even though it came from freeway insurance the same office... These people are liars and crooks / stay away from freeway insurance the manager jose estrada was just as unprofessional and rude when I called then I called their corporate and was treated like crap! I filed a complaint with the dept of insurance and am expecting them to resolve this matter for me... Sad that a company just wants money so bad that they practive illegal activities!

Wow, good thing I read the reviews first. I got offered for cheap autoinsurance over the phone. I said, "let me think about it". Next time when they call me, I will talk to them like a normal costumers do. I will frustrate them as if I want to get insured by them. I will let them chase me over the phone in vain, haha. STAY AWAY FROM THESE FILTHY DIRTBAG CROOKS! WHEN I FIRST MADE THE MISTAKE OF SIGNING ON WITH THEM, THEY CHARGED ME $200, (FIRST MONTH PREMIUM, PLUS SOME BS "FEES") THEN i RECEIVED A NOTICE OF CANCELLATION TWO WEEKS LATER! i call to see if there's a way to make a payment, if there is a grace period and was told basically "sorry, sir, you're burnt." $200 for two weeks of insurance. Then I happen to be checking my bank statement when I notice a $149 charge to my card by, you guessed it, Freeway insurance. On a "cancelled" policy. At this point, needless to say, I was a little hot. Ok, more like about to burst into flames. So I call them again and get the guy who originally signed me up on the phone. He tried to transfer me to customer service but I told him I'd rather just talk to him, thanks. At that point, he told me I was never cancelled and that I signed off on some kind of auto pay plan. Which was a total lie, as I NEVER sign up for autopay anything, and make very clear they are never to charge my card for anything other than the initial $200. He starts getting rude, insisting that I signed off on all of it. I had heard enough and ended the call. Then, upon hanging up with him, I IMMEDIATELY get an email from Freeway - I was suddenly cancelled again. I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE THESE CLOWNS HAVE A LICENSE TO DO ANY KIND OF BUSINESS. IT'S CRIMINAL, PERIOD, AND I INTEND TO PURSUE MATTERS AS SUCH. I agreed for you filthy thieves to charge me almost $400 for less than one month of LIABILITY insurance? YOU VE LOST YOUR F'N MIND. I apologize for the language, but why is it every time I turn around, some greed-driven faceless f-tank is finding a new way to STEAL your money. FREEWAY INSURANCE is THE WORST! RUN COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH! They lie, steal, pass you from one person to another, keep you on hold forever, they're rude and they refuse to give me a higher up supervisor to speak to when I asked. They ripped me off and did not disclose my accidents to Western General and then Western General ran a report (that I was told by Freeway that they themselves could not run) and saw an accident that I disclosed to Freeway, but Freeway did not disclose to them so Western General Hiked my premium demanding 325.00 on top of all the money I paidalready and then they cancelled me. I have been dealing with Freeway for months, but they will do nothing and now it went to collections and if I don't pay it, it will be reported to the credit agencies. I plan on reporting them and I advise anyone that has been screwed over that you report them to Department of Insurance also. Pass the word! Let's bring freeway down!

First off I feel very bad for the naive people that fall for the false advertisement this company puts out on radio stations, tv channels, and magazines. An Insurance policy for $15 a month and no down payment? Very unreal! This is not the only company that advertises this bull, there is numerous angencies doing the same thing. How much do you think advertisement cost? A very pretty pennie, and who do you think is paying for it, the dumb clients that fall into the river of lies. I know all this because I was an agent with this company for two years. Worst job I ever had! Every day I went to work and felt bad for the people that the other agents and I were going to rip off for the day. Which was very simple to do. We were trained for it. Lie on commercials, lie over the phone and lie in person. Managers thrive on who could squeeze the most money out of the client. Offices are in competition with one another on a daily basis. Even the agent's get payed bottom dollar. The only people that make money there are managers, district managers and owners. Everyone else employee and client alike get ripped off. I can go on and on about all the things this company does to there agents and clients, like how they tell you your insurance policy is cancelled when it's not, just to rewrite you a whole new policy and charge you a new broker fee. Or how there customer services transfers you from operator to operater until you get fed up and hang up. The list goes on and on. I will end this with a warning! Stay away from Freeway Insurance ans all the companies you see or hear on radios. Except preffered companies. They are out to rip you off, BOTTOM LINE!

yeah do not go through brokers they charge for all services and even to make a damn monthly payment in the office its $10. these are called agency fees or broker fees. since these people are commission hungry unlike direct companies they'll commit fraud and do anything it takes to get your money. do not think the agency commission is cheap. it is easily over $200 for them sitting with you for 10 minutes. this fee is included in the downpayment. do not pay a huge down payment. if they do any unethical practices with your policy all you have to do is call the department of insurance, this is the proper place to file your complaint. google their phone number. many people do not know about department of insurance and this is how you get taken advantage of. some people think you need a lawyer but if they get enough department of insurance complaints they will be shut down.

So I was referred to Freeway insurance and so I though Why not. I am a college student and money is tight I need car insurance so I went to Freeway Insurance. The customer service there sucks. They are all very uneducated and full of lies. NOTHING that comes out of their mouth is the truth. They told me that they went ahead and set me up with automatic transfer from my checking account. They wrote down my account number and said that I will be saving $11.00 dollars a month this way so I said sure go a head. I was told that it will automatically come from my checking account and I didn't have to worry about a bill being mailed to my house every day. A month later I get a cancellation memo in the mail saying that my insurance is canceled. I went back to talk to the managers they refuse to help me and said the only way I can be helped is with a new account which means another $300.00 for the down payment and they said the rate I had before is no longer available and the one they have now is two times higher than my first one. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY ITS A TRAP.

People do not mind others making a living. But lying to the general public about no downpayment or calling it " the initial payment " and misleading the public to think that all they are going to pay is $15.00 a month is absolutely unethical. That has nothing to do with the $300+ broker fee that Freeway charges on some of their uninformed customers. Freeway is nothing more than a brokerage started by Kelly T in 1983. Today it is owned by a corporation. They spend thousands of dollars to be in the public eye, and they charge their customers alot more money than the small business owner does to do exactly the same thing. They are like the WalMart of the insurance brokerage industry.

Was a customer with Freeway for about 2 months because i got lured in with the lowballing that was done over the phone. Got lucky and only paid 100 for a brokers fee, but that very minimal compared to what others got charged. This company is total BS. Their agents are crooks. If you want real insurance, go with Titan. I dealt with Q from Titan. True quotes and no BS. I'm very happy now with my current carrier and didn't have to pay no ridiculous down payment. 916.974.6811 ask for Q
