NC Farm Bureau office is not transparent with their customers and they deliberately sell policies that they know an average citizen cannot afford. Ethnics nor morals exist here and it sad when they prey on the elderly and subject them to policies that they know will not work for them long time. I believe an investigation of this office needs to be handled and I question if anyone in this office has an actual college degree.
I have been a Farm Bureau customer for over 40 years, with coverage including life insurance, auto, home, and business
I have been a Farm Bureau customer for over 40 years, with coverage including life insurance, auto, home, and business. We sold our home and after moving, some of our personal items were being stored in an enclosed trailer until space was available to unload. During our storage the trailer was stolen along with personal property. I filed a claim and was paid for the trailer. I worked to complete all the paperwork Farm Bureau requested in a timely manner for the personal property. As I explained to the adjuster, some of the items dates, cost, etc. would be an estimate due to the time of ownership. I was directed to do the best I could in listing and value. I included pictures of our garage showing most of the property. Still waiting for resolution, I was told of a Farm Bureau Special Investigator making an unannounced visit to my office yesterday, and questioning my employees. Very unprofessional. He left his card and I promptly called him and scheduled a meeting within the hour. My wife and I met with him and I must say I would never have expected to be drilled and talked irrespectively in the manner he did. I tried to communicate with him but he only wanted me to sign forms to allow him to delve into my personal life. He had no interest in reviewing my case. Stated we would do that at deposition. I have worked with Farm Bureau agents most of my life and would never have expected to be treated like a criminal. Sad times we are living in that a company like Farm Bureau has become so impersonal.

Frustration with North Carolina farm bureau insurance agency’s handling of my claim
On August 9, 2024, my vehicle was rear-ended by one of their drivers, and I promptly submitted a claim that same day. However, I did not receive any response from the North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Agency for three days. Frustrated, I began calling all the local offices, providing them with my claim number. Eventually, they gave me the adjuster’s name...

I was involved in an accident with my boat. When I went to file my claim I was informed that the boat wasn't covered due to lack of payment. All of my policies are on direct draft. For some reason my agent took that one policy off of direct draft and never informed me nor my lender who informed me that if they would have my lender would have put insurance on it and added it to my payment. So because of my agents negligence I have a boat with around $18,000 worth of damage.

I provided written and verbal email to Agent ***, that I was cancelling my automobile insurance on 7/7 and to cancel my Renter's insurance on 9/15. This information was provided in written form on 7/7. I was given many different reasonings as to why I did not receive my reimbursement checks. The final information I'm receiving is that my services were cancelled one month after I requested their cancellation. Product_Or_Service: Renter's and Automobile

I severed ties and deactivated my policy with NC Farm Bureau in September
I severed ties and deactivated my policy with NC Farm Bureau in September. All of my policies have been deactivated since then. On December 16th NCFBI drafted $621 out of my checking account leaving us with almost nothing left for basic needs for the month. When I called to report it, and request a refund, they claimed that because I scheduled this payment in June while the policy was active it was legitimate and it was up to me to cancel the payment, no NCFBI. Usually when I close an account at 0 balance, all future payments are cancelled. The agent I worked with is refusing to help, and NCFBI is refusing to issue a refund. So now I have to dispute the charge through the bank.

Owing to an unprofessional agent I have lost $38
Owing to an unprofessional agent I have lost $38. On 07/11 I signed the car insurance agreement with the policy # *** in your *** office located on *** Road and paid $315 for six months. I provided all information needed and was satisfied with the result. But on 07/20 I received an additional bill from you where was stated that I owe $54 more. That very date I found out that your agent mistakenly counted our driving experience. On 07/28 I cancelled our agreement. Yesterday I received a billing notice where I saw your intension to refund me only $242 instead of $280. WHY DO I NEED TO PAY FOR YOUR AGENT MISTAKE? Your agent didn't tell me that your company requires eight years of American driving experience. If I knew it I would never sign that agreement.

I submitted a claim to the company on November 22nd and haven't had any correspondence from the claims department whatsoever
I submitted a claim to the company on November 22nd and haven't had any correspondence from the claims department whatsoever. I was a pedestrian in the crosswalk when my dog and I were hit by a truck insured by North Carolina Farmer's Bureau Insurance. Customer service emailed me back within an hour to confirm the driver's policy number when I wasn't sure if the driver was insured by them. I have just been waiting. I emailed customer support to see if there was an issue with my claim as insurance companies in both Wisconsin and North Carolina are supposed to respond to a claim within 30 days and was told the claims department would contact me when they could. That was over two weeks ago (January 4th). There is a police report with witness information so I have no idea what the holdup is. This was a traumatic experience that I would really like to put in my past and not have to worry about anymore.

I canceled my insurance and they still took money out and is not issuing a refund
I canceled my insurance and they still took money out and is not issuing a refund. My insurance representative *** was fantastic at trying to help me and get me to the right place. It is passed him. I canceled my insurance due to my rate going up. They still charged my card and sent me in a run around to get to the right person to speak to about it. Finally was in touch with a lady in Raleigh who seemed very helpful but here I am weeks later still have not received my refund. Everyone in my household is out of work due to the virus and I have 2 children. I need that money much more than farm bureau. Also the month prior to this, they charged my card for two months when my rate went up $400! I couldn't even pay my rent after they did that and would not take it back. Not a trustworthy company to give your card information to. I am doing a complaint to hopefully receive the money back from the month I was charged AFTER I had canceled.

In March I called my NC Farm Bureau Insurance office to have a vehicle removed after I turned in the tags into DMV. I spoke to my agent, *** to have him take a Chrysler Aspen off the policy. He informed me that he removed it and that the rate change would reflect the next month. Months later I bought another vehicle and called the same *** NC office to have it added to my policy. When the agent read off the vehicles that were still on the policy they informed me that the Chrysler Aspen was still on my policy. I let that agent know that I had removed that vehicle months back and that I shouldn't have been charged for that vehicle as no longer had it. They said it would be removed it and a new rate would reflect the next month. Months later when I called the same office to ask why I was paying so much for insurance, they again read off the vehicles on my policy and still had the Chrysler Aspen on my policy. I've called and emailed the Manager and still haven't received a refund

They still are billing me after I canceled insurance I have called home office in Raleigh 4 times they will not break down bill My insurance was due Sept 3 I cancelled my policy September 1 I was told you pay insurance in advance I don't dispute that I may owe something but the amount they say I owe is impossible I have called Raleigh 4 times so while they have been very nice. I have yet been told how the bill is broken down I was told when I cancelled my policy that you pay in advance over the last several months I have bought a car and sold a car I think they billing me for a car or cars on my policy that I do not have They will not explain in detail I have purposely not talked to the Mooresville office after I have been given information that was incorrect and cost me quite a great deal of money that is why I called home office I would never have cancelled my policy at that time I would have waited if I was given correct information when I cancelled They are extremely nice people and I just want to be treated fairly I called them in advance and ask for cost of adding cars to my insurance they gave me cost over phone but once I got the cars the cost was extremely higher if it was just a small amount I would understand I was able to go with another company with exact same coverage at half the price In short I think they are missing something and billing me incorrectly

I was not disclosed fees Before my policy was set to be drafted from my bank account I called my agency to discuss the cancellation policy with them. I was informed by *** all i had to do was call and cancel and sign a few forms. So i purchased my new policy and sent back the forms. The insurance payment was still drafted from my account which i was warned about and I was told I would be sent a refund check. When i received an additional bill in the mail I phoned to find out what was going on. I was informed they had a refund of less than half the cost of my policy to come back to me. When i asked why it was not the full cost of my policy deduction I was told there was a fee for cancelling early. When i had called prior there was no information from the representative saying this. As we are in the midst of a pandemic and mt hours at work have been cut I needed to lessen my insurance in order to make my paychecks go further. In calling both the agency and customer service I was told I am unable to get that refund back in its entirety. This was not disclosed to me and now i am paying more in insurance than i could afford for the month seeing as I am paying two policies. I was unaware of these charges and would have decided against switching so i am able to pay my bills for the month. I guess this company has no regard for the crisis that has hit america and their people have no compassion for those effected.

Did not disclose at time homeowners policy sold they would not renew if a claim was made because of a claim with a prior insurance company
Did not disclose at time homeowners policy sold they would not renew if a claim was made because of a claim with a prior insurance company. After receiving 1 claim I received a non-renewal notice from NCFB for a homeowners policy ( Policy #HP***) stating the reason was "Claims Frequency". When I called my manager of the *** NCFB office, ***, I was told that because I had made a recent denied weather related wind/hail claim with NCFB and had a paid claim with my prior insurer in 2017 they were not able to renew my policy in August . Mr *** also said that the NCFB policy in 2017 was underwritten on an exception basis and was being monitored because of the claim with my prior insurance company (***) and that if a claim is made NCFB's policy is to not renew. I told Mr. NCFB did not disclose to me that the policy was issued to me and would remain in force under the condition that I did not make a claim to NCFB within a specified time period. I told Mr. had this condition been disclosed to me I would not have bought the insurance from NCFB as I would not want to be in a position of fearing to make a legitimate claim having my policy not renewed and scrambling to find a new insurance carrier. It is extremely misleading and an unfair to issue a conditional policy without disclosing the conditions to the consumer. Also it is also an unfair business practice to not renew the policy based on these undisclosed conditions especially when NCFB has not incurred a loss and paid out any money as a result of denying the claim. Details which caused me to discover this unfair business practice are in the following paragraphs. My house is located in ***, sub-division of *** NC, that contains approximately 60 homes on 3 streets. On February 6 a tornado touched done close to a quarter mile from *** tearing up roofs and toppling trees. Our neighborhood did not receive a direct hit from the tornado but received significant wind and hail as the tornado went through. As a result significant damage to the roofs to the home in *** took place. Since that time over 50% of the homes in *** place have had their roofs replaced or are in process of being replaced including the roofs at *** and *** Dr covered by NCFB and the homes on all 4 sides of my home. As a result I requested 2 professional roofer companies to examine my roof who indicated there was wind and hail damage to my roof. In April I submitted my first claim (claim #***) regarding the damage on my roof. NCFB adjuster*** was assigned to review my claim. He indicated from his inspection there was no damage from wind or hail but asked if I wanted him to have *** Technology also look at the roof. *** Technology produced a report indicating the roof had mechanical damage from foot traffic. Mr. and ***'s conclusions were very confusing to me given the approved insurance claims from multiple insurance companies for over 50% of *** including the 4 houses directly in front, back and 2 sides of my house. When I expressed my concern regarding the significant discrepancy regarding how the claims were being handled in my neighborhood compared to my claim Mr. indicated I could file a new claim with a different date of loss if I wanted another adjuster to look at the claim. Mr. did not disclose this would count against me as an additional claim and my policy might not be renewed due to the undisclosed conditions under which NCFB underwrote the policy. Accordingly, I submitted a new claim#***.
