1. Relatives get $800 gift voucher when buy a new car from Pennant Hills Auto, and give it to us because we have young kids.
2. Gap Studios refuse to disclose price beforehand
3. Spend 3 hours there: waiting, getting the photo shoot, waiting and then seeing the photos.
4. We are told that any photos we do not buy will be deleted and it costs about $500 a photo. We chose our ten favourite and the rest were deleted. It is emotionally hard letting good photos of the kids and family be deleted when you have not had time to get family photos.
5. We were told that the two cheapest options were to get a box set of ten photos for $2000 = $1200 after the voucher, or a family set (box set and three of the ten photos framed) for $2900 = $2100 after the voucher.
6. Seemed greatly overpriced as we had got a family portrait and baby photos done five years ago when our son had just been born for about 1/3 the price. However, we had spent the time and I did not have the heart to delete the best ten photos. So I agreed to the cheapest option.
7. With the kids (3 years and 5 years) having enough of being there for 3 hours and being in shock about the price, I did not register that the contract had price at $2000 instead of $1200 I had been told, and signed it.
8. I realised this immediately when we got home and wrote it down. However we could not call because it was Saturday night and they were closed until Wednesday. I left for a business trip and left it to my wife t sort it out. My wife contacted them as soon as they were open but could not get a reasonable outcome.
9. The whole process is very deceptive and unreasonably priced. They would not get much business if they disclosed the price upfront. They gift voucher also seems suspect that it is genuine.
Talked to manager who was very courteous and reasonable. Complaint was resolved reasonably and appropriately. May have all been a misunderstanding. Now a happy customer
The whole voucher thing is a scam. you would never walk into their studio if you knew you'd be thousands of dollars poorer after. shred the voucher. you'll be doing yourself a favour
Had exactly same experience! (at bella vista) this is definitely a scam. they don't tell you the price before hand. what they are doing is very dirty business. wasted my petrol to go there for the photo shoot, then I had to drive there again to get ripped off by a sales lady. after they asked me to choose my favorite photos, the total price they've told me was shocking! on top of $800 gift voucher, I had to pay between $2200-$3500 for the pictures I like. wish I could tell everyone to get away from this place!
Oh, of course I end up not buying anything from this place though. no way!
Total rip off place. felt like thriller movie suspense revealed only in the end. please check reviews and then proceed further.in the name of $800 gift voucher charging ridiculously unbelievable rates at the time of finalising photos. highly recommend to discuss price/rates before photo shoot!.
That coupon is a evil entry which is a waster of money completely earned using our family emotions. I can't digest the fact that we ended paying up thousands for photos.
Disgusting sales method. Avoid at all costs. Pressured and deceptive. Asked numerous times for pricing up front and then get slammed with a price of c$4400 for a small package of walls prints after you have done your photo shoot and feel lured, pressured and locked in because you don’t want to lose your photos. Must be joking! At no time will they divulge the price of ends product/prints/photos in a transparent manner. Then it takes 8 weeks to get your prints? This is going to consumer affairs!
GAp charge you $1645 for a 24x24
Google acrylic mounted photography and Australian online suppliers can offer you a comparable product eg. a 20x20 will cost you $30!
I feel conned, ripped off.
