I wish I could leave them zero stars
I wish I could leave them zero stars. Don't waste your time, money, or energy on this company, General Auto Recycling, Inc. The owner, he's a jerk, and he trained his workers to be jerks just like him. I bought an engine and they were supposed to come pick up the core for $750. They gave me so many reasons why they couldn't pick up the engine from the mechanic. They said it wasn't tied down properly, but they didn't even bother to call the mechanic to let them know they were coming. After I went and tied it down properly with ratchet straps and put it on another pallet weighing 375 pounds, I sent them pictures to confirm that it was good to go. They had to check with their weird manager. After months and months of not returning phone calls and blocking me, I had to threaten them with legal fees for the manager to finally give me a call back. Then, after speaking to the manager, he told me that it had been over 60 days and they had attempted to come get the engine four times. He also said that they couldn't come pick it up anymore and it was my responsibility, as well as the mechanic's responsibility, to return the engine to them. I'm taking legal action. This is not over, I guarantee it. You can't just rip people off like this. People work hard for their money.
I wanna give a "0" star
I wanna give a "0" star. I bought an engine from them and someone dropped a torque converter nut between the engine block and flywheel in a place that I checked with a flashlight before installing in the car I couldn't find anything. To find this nut I gotta remove the flywheel and move the warranty mark screws. I never had to do this on any engine. First of all I'm 100% sure it wasn't me 'cause I got no extra nuts, all four nuts I had I installed in the torque converter. When the engine ran this torque converter nut that someone left there broke the engine block and started leaking right away. I'm a mechanic with 22 years of experience and I replaced so many engines I can't remember how many. I never had this kinda problem. When I called 'em and emailed the full report with photos of everything they treated me really bad like I'm to blame, and they told me the damage caused seemed like a perfect circle and they couldn't do anything. What are ya talkin' 'bout? The engine spins like a perfect circle, is it my fault the engine spins like a perfect circle? I'm not an engineer but I learned in my mechanic classes that this type of engine gotta rotate like a perfect circle for many reasons I don't even need to explain here. I wanna share this so other mechanics don't have the same problem as me and ain't left without any support like me and still bein' disrespected as a customer like me.

I bought a transmission for my 2005 *** from General Auto Recycling, Inc
I bought a transmission for my 2005 *** from General Auto Recycling, Inc. They claimed it was in good condition, but it turned out to be a faulty one. I returned it within the 30-day period as they instructed, expecting a refund. However, they told me it would take 2-3 days to process the refund, but they never did. It has been over a month now, and I haven't heard anything from them since. I have a handwritten document with a signature and date from the business manager, assuring me that they would inform me about the refund within 3 business days.
Gereral Auto is tryin to avoid payin for an engine that I bought from them under their warranty
Gereral Auto is tryin to avoid payin for an engine that I bought from them under their warranty. They tryin to mess with what I said and what *** in *** said, so they don't gotta pay for the damages to the engine they sold me. They didn't do a full check on that engine like they said they did before sellin it to me. The engine got a leak in the head gasket on the passenger side rear. They don't cover the labor to take it out, which costs a lotta money to do on a *** 2011 super charge.
I bought a wheel on March 26th for $150 from General Auto Recycling
I bought a wheel on March 26th for $150 from General Auto Recycling. They told me the wheel was in good condition, just some scratches. But when I got it, I found a big crack that made it useless. I called GAR and told them about the problem. They asked for pictures to start the refund process, so I sent them right away. But then I didn't hear anything back. I found out that the salesperson, *** didn't actually start the refund process like he said he would. I've talked to *** five times now, and he always says he'll call me back, but he never does. I've also left voicemails, but he never returns them. It's a bit upsetting because the ComplaintsBoard.com gives General Auto an A+ rating, and that's why I trusted them. If they were really deserving of that rating, I would expect to get a full refund, minus the shipping, in a reasonable amount of time. But that hasn't happened. The invoice number for this transaction is: ***.
