I keep gettin' these dang emails and mail from Gettel Hyundai of Sarasota. I've been askin' 'em for years to stop sendin' me all their ads, but they just don't listen. I ain't never gonna do business with 'em again, but they keep on botherin' me. I done unsubscribed from their emails so many times, but guess what? I got another one today! I'm so done with 'em!

My car's been at their shop for more than a month, and they won't give me another car until they fix mine. They have the money, but my car just sits there waiting for parts. It's really inconvenient for me and my family. I need a car in the meantime. It doesn't make sense for me to keep making payments on a car I'm not even using.

Last weekend, I seen an advertisement on their website 'bout a 2021 Hyundai Venue SEL and a SE model and they online price was advertisin' 'em for $14,990 and $13,920. I done inquired 'bout the SEL model (KMHRC8A37MUXXXXXX) that was sellin' for 'round $14,990, but was told that one would be $19,495, which be $5000 more that what it be advertised for. This vehicle done disappeared from the website. I asked 'bout another model, the SE that be on the website (KMHRB8A31MUXXXXXX) and I also asked the sales person that I been dealin' with, Ivan L., why the prices were so much different. In his words, "As far as the pricin' we put all discounts on our page just not all customers qualify for all of 'em." This be not mentioned anywhere on the website nor on the advertisement. I then got an invoice sayin' that the vehicle would be $17,920.00 plus accessories totalin' $19,864.00 and with taxes, delivery service charge, and license and fees it would be $23,417.38. This be almost double the price that was advertised online.

We wasn't even lookin' for a car that day but decided to stop for the fun of it. We met Santiago, one of the salesmen and were real happy. He wasn't pushy, knew his stuff, and just down to earth. We decided to take a look at some numbers on a 2020 Sonata. After goin' back and forth between Santiago and his manager, Jorge, we negotiated an out the door price of $30,000 that satisfied us all. After waitin' at least a couple hours to go meet with Michael K. in finance, we were lookin' at it almost bein' 8pm. I've done this many times and was prepared to tell Mr. K. that I didn't want any extras added on to my vehicle. When he got to the Gap and Extra Warranty negotiatin', I held strong and politely told him no thank you. He then questioned why and we went back and forth until he said "would you agree to sign for this package if it was only $1 more on your monthly payment?" I, of course, asked him "how are you able to do that?" He simply said "I have coupons." I questioned this offer again as I know this is where numbers can be "played with" but he promised me he "does this all the time." Unfortunately, I trusted him and now feel completely swindled. Yesterday in the mail, I received my loan information from GTE Financial and go figure, my total loan amount is somehow now $33,409.05. That's $3.409.05 over our negotiated out the door price. It's a 75 month term so if Mr. K. had kept his promise of a $1 more a month on my payments, that would have only been another $75. At what would have been an easy 5 star review, is now a mere 1 star review due to these typical deceivin' tactics. I'm now understandin' why people go to no haggle dealerships nowadays.

On October 4, 2022, I got a car from Gettel Hyundai of Sarasota. They said if I charged $5000.00 on my credit card, they would give me $150.00 back. When my salesperson told me about the 3% charge for using my card, I said no way and told him I would go to the bank to get the money instead. He talked to someone and came back saying "they will refund you the money". I was cool with that. Later, I went to the finance department and asked about the refund to ***. He had no clue what I was talking about. He left the room, talked to someone, and came back saying "no problem, it will be refunded". I asked *** where my refund was when I left, and he said "it takes two to three weeks". I trusted him and said okay.
I went back on October 6, 2022, to pick up the car and got the paperwork, which included a Gettel Automotive Group Check Request form made out to me for $150.00. It had my address and a signature approving the refund. They told me it would take 2 to 3 weeks again. I have attached the form I got.
Since October 6, 2022, I've been trying to get this refund. They keep giving me excuses. First, they said they didn't have my DD214 (military discharge) because there was a $ *** credit for being in the military. I sent it to them. Then they said they didn't have my new insurance cards, so I sent them again (for the 2nd time). I have receipts for both. I have a record of all my conversations with *** about this $150.00 payment. If needed, I can print it out from my phone. He agrees that I should get the money and doesn't know why it hasn't been sent.
There's no reason why they shouldn't send me the refund they promised.

I went into the dealership to purchase a 2018 left over vehicle they were advertising on their site. After I filled out the credit application, the salesman told me the vehicle I wanted was just sold that morning and tried to get me to purchase a brand new 2019 vehicle which I told him I was not interested in and rescinded my authorization for any credit checks. I left the dealership and they ran my credit after I after I left. I was contacted by my credit card company who told me I no longer qualified due to the 18 credit inquiries from Gettle Hundyai and they closed my card. When I checked my creditor report they had submitted the digital application, that I rescinded, to 18 creditors with false information for the new vehicle that I specifically stated I did not want. The salesman called me after I left and told me he got me approved for the new vehicle I did not want and I told him specifically that I never authorized him to obtain any financing for this new vehicle and that reported it to his Manager Mark B. immediately and Sandeep S. in August and Sandra Brock who contacted me on facebook and had a discussion with me about the entire incident. The creditors who received the digital application informed me that I needed a letter that the information filled in on the application was incorrect regarding the vehicle to be financed and that this application was done in error and they would remove it. I called and spoke with Zak and a desk manager who refused to give me his name and they both were not there when the incident happened and said there is nothing that can be done and they could not write the letter without the general manager's approval. First they told me they had no information about me being in the dealership they could only access for 90 day which expired in May then he told me that they have the application given to them by the Salesman after I left the dealership and confirmed the wrong vehicle on it. I have a high fraud alert on my credit reports which mean no creditor can run my credit check without calling me me first to get my verbal approval. None of them did this and I did not authorize anyone to run my credit 18 times in one day.

The drive to Sarasota is an hour from my house but I been working with a salesperson by phone and I told her about my budget. She said if I show up in person that day, I could get a 2019 instead of the 2018 for that price 'cause there was a sale going on. I been to other dealers that day and that whole month but ain't found nobody to help me stay within my budget. I ended up at Gettel 10 minutes before closing and asked for the person I was talking to by phone (I can't remember her name). They said she left for the day and would do what they could to help me. I'm a single mom and looking for a second car for my kids to use so between the ex-husband and I, we had a budget set for 15K. The sales and finance worked hard to get me as close to that price and I went to finance to finish up the paperwork. In the finance department, I was talked into the extended warranty and gap insurance even though it took me way over my budget. I know this is something the finance department known for and was warned by my ex-husband ahead of time that this would happen. But he made me believe that I needed it. I called back the next day to get it canceled. I didn't need it and I surely didn't need the extra expense. I went in there with a set budget and shouldn't have left with anything above. I was transferred to the finance department and left a message to call me, received no call back. I called back the next day, no answer, left a message, received no call back. On December 9, I called again and was transferred to the message system again. I didn't bother to leave a message. It was clear that I wasn't gonna get a call back. They didn't wanna hear about a refund. I was frustrated already. I work in Tampa and decided to drive straight there after work to talk to finance in person. It took me an hour and a half to get there and asked to speak to finance. Alan L., in finance, had a terrible attitude. It was obvious he wasn't happy about me asking to be refunded, did a lot of grumbling under his breath. He said it would take about 6 weeks to see it in my bank account and pretty much dismissed me. I asked for a copy of the paperwork. He printed it and apprehensively shoved it to me. The form had no signature and requested he sign it. He grabbed the paper back from me, signed it and threw it back to me. I said thank you and I left. Now it's been well over 6 weeks. Per Alan claimed, my bank should have received my refund/payment.

I've taken it to the dealership multiple times, but the problem persists. The first technician, Ashley, was helpful and provided a loaner car, but the repairs took 1-2 weeks each time. When Ashley left, Keith took over and tried his best to assist me. I've been in loaner vehicles multiple times and have dealt with Keith more than 15 times. In January , Megan became my service representative. They made some repairs, but the smoking and shifting issues remained. Finally, Megan called and said they found the issue and I could pick up my car. However, when I started the car, it made a loud noise and Megan asked me to leave it for further inspection. They later informed me that a new engine was needed. I contacted my extended warranty provider, but there were issues with the paperwork. The service manager, Allen, asked for $3000 to take the engine apart, which I refused since I have extended warranty coverage. After several discussions, Allen reduced the amount to $1500, but I still refused to pay. I contacted my warranty provider, who requested pictures of the engine. The process has been long and frustrating, and I've been without a vehicle, relying on Uber and friends for transportation. I've tried to get assistance from the service manager and general manager, but they have been unhelpful. I even reached out to the corporate office but received no response. I was offered a loaner vehicle, but it was later taken back. I'm still waiting for my vehicle to be fixed and feel that I should be compensated for the inconvenience. I've contacted a consumer advocacy group for assistance.
