GoodLife Fitness no card/refund

Be careful with this company, especially if you are considering their short term corporate membership!
I faxed in my form for a 3 month corporate membership and did not receive a card in the mail. When I emailed asking about the card, they said they hadn't been able to read the form and confirmed my credit card hadn't been charged. Then when I received my credit card statement, there was a charge from Goodlife London. I emailed them and told them I had been charged after all and after numerous attempts to contact them, I finally got through to someone who said that I would get my refund. It's been weeks later now and still no refund!

GoodLife Fitness unsanitary

Went to the gym this morning and found all the paper towel dispensers empty. I was thinking about this and realised that without paper towels no one was spraying and wiping down equipment - How can you wipe down without paper towels? This is disgusting to think that I was working out in everyone else's sweat.

Yesterday I walked in to see a ridiculous mess of used towels everywhere (see attached images). How disgusting to have to push dirty, used towels off of the benches just to be able to sit and change. I could see if it happened just one time but it's been happening quit frequently lately.

Horrendous experience.

Racially abused at one location. Clothes stolen at 3 locations. Very strange older gentleman taking pictures of me while naked and Goodlife let him walk. Thats a criminal offense. None of them cared. That is a horrendous occurance. The gentleman was pointed out and it became some kind of joke to Goodlife staff.

Went for a shower came back someone stole my shoes and orthotics.

I staff very rude. Most have no idea what they are talking about.

Even though it is their fault for not informing me that they were no longer going to automatically withdraw from my account i still had to pay all my fees and an unwanted, irreversible, cancellation fee. The gave me wrong information on the ONE (and only one) e-mail they sent me stating that they would try to take money out again on September 1st and then never did, WHY?, because they decided to no longer withdraw in case i got bank charges (which is fine) but there was NO e-mail, phone call or letter telling me that they were doing this and that if i didn't respond or pay that they would PERMANENTLY cancel my membership.
What did they do for me? months later i get a letter from a collection agency in the mail and i call customer service to sort this matter out because obviously i would like to keep paying and keep my membership but what can they do for me because THEY screwed up... NOTHING. they did nothing... I have NEVER EVER had such TERRIBLE service in my ENTIRE life, nor have i ever heard of a company that would not update their customers in such events or give them an incentive to stay with the company.
This company is a scam, money grab, what ever you want to call it.

My advice is to go to a small owned gym where they WANT your business and will treat you like a human being and not a dollar sign.

Location: Goodlife Fitness - Victoria Terrace 1448 Lawrence Ave E.

But no one can be sure where those cameras are really pointing at.

GoodLife Fitness they are liars and thieves

They told me my refund for personal training was approved after receiving a dr's note. Then after 6 weeks they changed they're mind and started making up excuses. My pt got injured went to hospital and did not put my dr note in my file and they accused me of lying about submitting it. James Nigaid from the head Office was Of no help and seemed like he was getting a kick out of denying me. I followed everything they told me to do and in the end used that against me and said you can't prove anything as it's not on paper. Do not sign up here and do not sign the contract.
Most unprofessional corporation I have dealt with. I believe everyon should call they're local papers and make a effort to expose these guys. What a disgrace to a Canadian business I bet the owner patch would be proud. What a ### organization! Stay away and complain until we deal with these bullies and hit them where it obviously hurts they're wallet. This is how you have to deal with these people they make it difficult in order to steal what is yours do not give up and pursue it at all cost.

i've never known them to lose documents on purpose. They seem to be pretty fair overall. It sounds like you were trying to break a contract and needed to provide proof and now looking fo someone to blame. Anyone at a head office would follow policy on that one. Plus you kind of sound way over excited and were prob an ###. I could see that.

Absolutely agree, they seen to lose documents on purpose and James Nigaid is a man of low self esteem and obviously has never been properly trained in customer service. Appropriate action should be taken against this corporation and especially James Nigaid as he is very rude and very uncooperative an unwilling to help you solve any issues. Thieves indeed!

GoodLife Fitness withdrawls after contract end

Here’s my dilemma. My husband and I signed up at Goodlife Fitness September 2010. After two or three visits to the Oshawa Center location we decided that the atmosphere, classes and gym were not right for us, nor were we happy with the lack of help offered. We had another member tell us we were using a machine backwards, that is how poor the orientation was. We requested some assistance a couple of times but were advised they were too busy, not staff… ect. This of course sullied my impression even more, and we both stopped going. In March 2011, I called the Gym directly to complain about the service, cleanliness of the the gym and the “snottiness” of the employees. At this point, I requested that a note be put on my file to cancel my membership when it expired. Life being as it is, I didnt think twice about it after that. I was busy planning a wedding, attending to sudden deaths and just life in general.
September 2011 passed and my bi-weekly payments continued to PAD from my bank account for both my husband and myself. In December (after the wedding dust settled) i was reviewing my bank statements and noticed that the debits were still being made. I immediately called to cancel my account at the gym (which was successful) and was advised that I must call customer care for any other issues. I also put a staop payment on the PAD at the bank. In the 30 days since I cancelled my membership I have called customer care no less than 20 times and have encountered a recording stating i was greater than 20 in line…. I honestly dont have time to wait on hold for a majority of the day.. so I emailed instead; no response. Today I called AGAIN, and I was number 13 (Yippee). I waited 6.8mins on hold before my call was answered. I explained the situation to the gentleman on the line, and asked that my call be escalated as he seemed to not be listening, nor was he able to help my in any way. He simply stated I had to cancel in writing (I had cancelled December 2011 on the phone.. how did THAT happen?). He advised me they sent a letter as our membership was nearing the end (2 grown adults live in my house, and we BOTH did not receive a letter). As far as I am concerned, my contract with Goodlife ended on September 30, 2011, All I want is reimbusement for approximately 220.00 in dues that were taken from my account from that date up until December 14th. Let’s face they got over 1100.00 for free, as we only used the facility a handful of times over the course of the year. I will continue to fight this until I recevie a satisfactory resolution.

lol, why should you be reimbursed?
Because you were too lazy to go into the club and do the cancellation?
You had to sign a contract when you joined, in that contract it states that once your one year contract is up, you still have the membership.
It goes month to month and there is no cancellation fee.
You had to sign the contract to join, doesn't it make sense that you would have to sign another agreement to cancel?
It would of taken you all of 15 minutes to cancel your membership in the club.
And then you would have a SIGNED COPY of your cancellation, stating that GoodLife can no longer take money from your bank account.

You won't be getting your money back.
You basically paid $220.00 on a lesson of how contracts work.
Read the whole contract next time.

If you had read your contract and the Ontario Law (Consumer Protection Act, 2002) that backs it up you would know that legally as the customer you MUST submit your request for cancellation before your year contract is up and one month before when it changes to a monthly contract by signing a cancellation form. That is YOUR responsibility as the consumer, NOT that of Goodlife.

GoodLife Fitness monthly fees not transparent

I am only living in the area for 5 months, so I inquired about what the best option would be in terms of memberships. Memberships are a minimum of $24.50 per two weeks, and there is a $99 cancellation fee if I want to terminate my membership before the year is up. Monthly memberships are $76.70 per month, or $230.10 per 3 months, or $460.20 per 6 months. I was informed that going with the 6 month option was definitely the best, even though I would only be using the gym for 5 months. Turns out that the 1 month, 3 month, and 6 month options all cost the same per month! And the cheapest option, based on 5 months of use, is still going with the first ($23.50 per two weeks) and paying the cancellation fee - that only comes to $68.80 per month! I will definitely not get a membership at a gym that tried to hoodwink potential members.

This gym is a total rip off. Paid one year's membership up front and they insisted on a void cheque to honour my "discount". Big mistake in giving this gym any banking information. First took one payment out; when speaking to staff told me I would be reiumbursed; instead two weeks later they took another payment out; when this is ever straightened out (assume I will have to close my bank account) I will never renew a membership at this facility.

I have been charged three times for the month of June. I had to make an appointment to speaks with a manager about it. Not impressed at all since I have been a member of Good life since it opened in my area 3 years ago. Off course when you call them they are unapologetic and give me a 1-800 number to call in the mean time.

GoodLife Fitness overly charged, been lied to

My wife and i visited to Good life club ta Parramatta on last October. We were just curious to know how does that work and what sort of fees apply when we join to them. The guy convinced us and filled the papers with us, took the bank account details and signatures. Anyway, we told him that we do not want to join that we just we thinking to have a look ! He told us that we would not be charged for anything if we cancel within 7 days . I told them that i would let them know if i m happy to join or not and then u should consider this paper or throw in to the bin, that guy agreed and conviced us saying u won't be charged for anything if we cancel the procedure within 7 days. We left the place and that's all. On the fourth day from the day we visited the good life club i rang them and told them to terminate the membership with them, i inquired whether i would be charged anything or not and i was said that i would be charged . After long discussion they told us that we are not been signed for contract so we would not be charged and aftyre that they started deducting the money from my account, they charged me totally $192.00 for just NOTHING ! I met them and had discussion with them regarding my forcefully payments so they told me that nothing can be done, this is the agreement. I want my $192 back which i paid for 15 mins with filling those forms. I have been cheated. Hoping towards good results from u...Thx

GoodLife Fitness stay away

I've been members at 4 clubs in various cities around the world over the years. This club is without a doubt the very WORST I have ever encountered. They use a variety of manipulative, high pressure scams to get you to pay huge amounts of money to use their personal trainers, they make you sign contracts that will cost you outrageous fees if you decide to leave the club. If you do decide to leave, they make you come in for another high pressure guilt trip, or they make you sit on the phone line for hours on hold listening to recorded 'patch adams' health club propaganda.

The club itself is poorly maintained, the exercise machines are broken half the time, the taps don't work in the showers, and the staff ignore any complaints. Save your money and your time, go someplace else. They don't care about you at all, they just want your money. Stay away.

I feel so helpless and ripped off by GoodLife at Park Road, Toronot. I joined in April and signed up for their 'special' training sessions- six sessions for $250.
When I showed up for my first 'session', I was kept in a small office and essentially given a sales pitch. The head trainer told me that what I signed on for was worthless, really, and what I needed was a year-long commitment at $1200 per month!
When I got out of there I promptly delivered a letter stating that I was taking advantage of the ten day cool off period and cancelled the sessions. The salesman who sold me the package promised me that the refund would be prompt. I signed the release paper and he quickly put the paper away, saying that I didn't need my copy, he'd give me his word that it would be done. How stupid was I? But they are well-praciced at this at GoodLife.
I simply don't know what to do.

Deffenetly the worst gym out there location good life walkley all I can say is when you see this gym run the other way cause they will find a way to try and take money that is not owing them making up stories that are not true. And if you decide to take the brave road and sign up with them make sure no matter what they promise you that it's all in writing cause they will act like angels and promise you so many things but once you've signed all they promised is old news and they will not fulfill there end of the deal so be CAREFUL! If you decide to get personal training make sure you get a COPY of every single paper they get you to sign cause you will need them when things go sour, and that's not an if, it's when!

Agreed! I got sucked in when I went to ask them their membership prices. They take you on a tour, and then sit you down and go over the paperwork as if you are signing up for sure, and make you feel obligated to do so, and pressure you into buying the 6 sessions with a trainer. I did, and then the trainer wanted me to sign up for 144 more sessions, and won't leave me alone when I say I can't afford it! it costs over 7k! and 600 in monthly payments. The trainer got mad and acted like a child when I told him I couldn't afford it, and basically said I should have absolutely no life, and not spend ANY of my money on anything but the gym (in other guilt trip wording). He got mad at me because I said I was going to my home town to visit my FAMILY, and he told me I was wasting my money and should spend it on sessions instead!

GoodLife Fitness horrible personal trainers

Do not purchase personal training from this gym! You will regret it. Between two different trainers, I managed to get stoof up 5 times out of 23 scheduled sessions. Two of the times, I received no contact whatsoever before or even after my workout, in which I did so alone. I actually lost motivation to work out, because of my trinaer. It was pathetic, and total disrepect. I do not need to pay to be mistreated and let down. My first trainer actually got fired after a month with him, after cancelling 2 sessions and being sick during a few of our sessions, I see plenty of reasons for him not to be a trainer. One guys excuse is, 30 minutes before my workout, is that he has a funeral to go to, but somehow he didnt know about it till 30 minutes till my workout, and the last and final excuse for not showing up or even text me on the day of my workout was... He slept in till 3pm. Pathetic unless you want to be stood up and waste time with these personal trainers, do not give them a penny of your money.

Goodlife fitness is a typical corporate citizen. They are incredibly eager to get into your wallet and bank account. After I moved to a town that didn`t have a location, I had to return to cancel my membership. They continue to go into my bank account to withdraw payments, even after I cancelled the exact way that they wanted me too. I wonder how long it will take them to either get out of my bank account, reply to my email or have a reasonable answer to my calls and inquiries.

Goodlife fitness suck! My peronal trainer insist I continue training after I told him I am pregant and unable to attend workout, my feet were swollen and he insist on 'special feet exercise' What an idiot! He also failed to disclosed I will have to make full payment for 48 sessions when I only completed 12. He lied to me, at initial meeting I was told I pay per session which I was doing, his managers were never available or working, after leaving so many messages for the club manager, still no reply, NOW I am receiving letter from a Lawyer, if I don't pay, I will have bad credit. This is disgusting that they are doing this, especially to a pregant woman.

GoodLife Fitness complaint - cancelled membership (tw11226875)

To Whom May Concern,

I came to be a member with Goodlife through a recommendations from a good friend of mine since April 15, 2011. I agreed to have the monthly payment of $45/month deducted with authorization form from my TD bank.

I brought the form from TD bank and give it to Jason almost 2 month ago. I noticed that still Goodlife’s account department did not deduct the money from my account.

I raised my concern, I went to Jason on the front desk and told him and he indicated that there is missing information on the form ….I was not sure what was missing and I ran to my bank on the same day again asking to reissue a new authorization and it and give it to him.

As I was going to the gym, I saw Jason and he stated that I am not allowed to enter because I did not pay for three months. I told him, I gave you the bank authorization form already three weeks ago for the second time. He was confused for some reason and looked in few drawers and finally he found the form and told me sorry, I forgot to ask you to sign it. Obviously, the bank authorization form was setting somewhere for more than three weeks.

He asked me to sign the form and I did sign and gave it to him and repeatedly I asked him, are you sure this time the form should be processed ….he replied, yes no problem.

Today, I received a letter from Peter Stephan, Goodlife attorney for collection. This is humiliating especially that your accounting department and the management team are not doing their job to following up and close my case. I got pissed off and went to Goodlife today and paid off “cash” the total due amount to provide evidence that the payment delay was not my fault but your disorganized management and accounting team.

I decided to send you this e-mail to inform you that I cancelled my membership and I will not recommend my close friends to joint Goodlife to avoid this unjustifiable aggravation and on the top of that receive a letter from the collection attorney. I will joint life style and I hope they have professional management that I can deal with unlike Goodlife.

Regards,

Adel Yasso

You sign up for a year, but for the first 3 months you don't pay anything, because of your previous gym's membership. The membership consultant with whom I dealt with told me I could cancel my Goodlife membership...

GoodLife Fitness personal trainer

There is one personal trainer there that is a cocky jerk. Full of himself. Was assigned to me to do the assessment. Told him straight out under no circumstances do I want to sign up for personal training. He said ok but you'd lose more weight with me than on your own because you haven't lost it yet. Ok give him that one because someone motivating you is better than you motivating yourself. Proceeded to tell me I was fat only because I was lazy and I don't eat properly (he never asked what my diet was like so how can you make that comment?) Im a stay at home mom who is on my feet all day. I have 2 young kids who are very active. Not to mention that I do kickboxing, yoga, biking and walk everywhere. How is that lazy? When he asked me about previous workout experience, he scoffed when I said I had followed a Biggest loser program and the Spark program. I had lost 12 lbs on spark and 15 lbs on biggest loser. Proceeded to still try to sell me the personal training to which I again said no. If I had the money it probably would be a good idea. He then asked why I don't have extra money. Kids, rent, insurance, food, etc all the necessities. He said well you pay monthly to come here. I said yes but that's not thousands of dollars. He said he knew I was eating junk food by how much money I spend on groceries (again never asked the amount). I had a second run in with him 2 weeks later. He tried to tell me that I gained 9 lbs. which is not true. I had just weighed my self the morning before. He weighed me at 2.30pm. Said it was water weight. 9 lbs? He told me his scale was right because it cost $4000. Then asked if I would be willing for him to show me interval training to which I said I already know how to do. He assured me I was doing it wrong. Again never asked to show him or explain it to him. Just assumes Im stupid. So I played his little game. I've never been on a treadmill and he had me going at 7 miles per hour. Not fast to some but to someone just starting out...its fast. He told me I had to start hard right out of the gate or I'd be fat forever. Nice talk when they're there to motivate you. He had tried to get me to buy into his protein drinks. I said I'd look into it. $200 a month. So i passed. He hounded me about that. When I did call to make a complaint, no one was available. Now I go in the mornings when I know he won't be there at all. He has no respect for women who take care of their kids. Basically told me that I should come first and my kids shouldn't. And in the midst of all this I was sick. He said it was just a cold. Apparently he's a doctor. It wasn't; because my doctor was and is in the process of testing for cancerous cells.

When I first joined the gym I was 19 years old.
Working VERY part time and more than half my paychecks were going into savings for school, so after paying my bi-weekly fee I was lucky if I had $30.00 left to my name.
I had my personal assessment and I remember her saying for 10 months it would be $5040.00, but to make it sound cheaper she said "Fifty-Fourty". And then she said "Or we can do monthly payments making it five-ten." Uhhh I know that means five hundred and ten dollars and that was definitely not in my budget. I very politely told her that even though it all sounded great that I just simply could not afford it. As it was just me paying for my membership and I only work part time. And she said "Well what about your parents?" I embarrassingly told her that my dad didn't have a job at the moment so money was really tight. Without blinking she looked at me and said "Well what about your mom?" Hi, pretty sure my mom is trying to afford to put food on the table and make sure we have electricity.
It just baffled me how insensitive she was. She told me how I would never reach my goals of weightloss without her and I will end up just being too disappointed to even go to the gym. I would just like to point out that before I even joined the gym I lost 30lbs ON MY OWN. I am now 21 years old and I have lost an addition 15lbs and I have come so much farther on my own than I ever imagined.

This is the most unprofessional Gym when it comes to personal training. I have been going to this gym for the past 3 years and in Feb 2011, I agreed to a personal trainer program. I was assured that with a 40 weeks program, I would see a significant difference, and would need to follow a very tight schedule. Well I did and showed up 4 times a week, but the...

GoodLife Fitness poor customer service

Dealing with the manager Natalie Kerr at the 427 Dundas GoodLife location was a horrible expierence! She has no customer service skills at all! I would not recommend this location to anyone and have already told my friends and family about the horrible service recieved at this location. Natalie Kerr is a manager who will lose alot of the gyms clients with her attitude. She was not welcoming at all and was yelling at me for the entire gym to hear, , , needless to say I left the gym in disgust and upset that I did not workout! I would not step foot in the 427 and Dundas location again as long as Natalie Kerr is the Manager there

Stay away from the South Common one. The manager is rude and I felt llike I was doing him a favor ! I went to work out on saturday morning and there was only other 2 members (women) on the treadmill/eliptical area. I went to ask if they could change the television channel and the aswer was No. There was one TV with Goodlife channel, another Citiline TV, onether selling gold jewlery, the sick kickds hospital, a divoce case on TV and TSN .I told them I had no interested in buying Jewlerry, I did not want to see the divorce, After 30 min whatiching sick kids I was very depressed and needed to watch something else. The answer was : GO watch TSN ! Seriously... how can people with such poor customer service skills can manage a gym ? I'he been a member since 1999 and for the first time I am thinking about leaving. One thing I know for sure: I'll never go to goodlife at south commom again.

GoodLife Fitness 1 year contract, actually 3 year contract

This was my first and last time getting a membership to anything! In the winter of 2007, a dear friend and I signed up for a 1-year membership with goodlife fitness in kitchener, ontario... The location in market square on king street, to be exact... Prior to signing the contract, I had inquired as to whether I would need to call and cancel my one year membership, as I have been had by this type of gimic in the past and wanted to fore-go the hassle of it all... I was assured it was a one year membership and I would not need to call and cancel. I signed the contract and a week later went to one cardio class and never went back... Three years later, I had noticed there was less money in my account month after month and surely to goodness could not figure out where that money was going... After closely watching my account, I saw that goodlife fitness continued to take out $54.60 per month for an additional 2+ years! Upon calling goodlife, not only the kitchener location, but "head office", and explaining the one year contract and how I was assured on the end of the representative I had sat with, that it was in fact one year, and would cease to exist on it's own, was told, there was nothing they could do. I needed to call and cancel, it was in the contract you signed." I am furious... They have taken thousands of hard earned dollars... The representative who served me no longer works there and my contract is no where to be found... Is this an ethical business philosphy? What can I do?

Yes, meech123 is right, Its is NOT 3 year contract or anything beyond a year. After your 1 year is up you go onto month to month payments, unfortunately you were misinformed about NOT having to have to call in or some in to cancel your membership.

Unfortunately it states in the contract you signed that once the one year is up, the only thing that's done is the contract. Therefore you still have your membership but there is no cancellation fee if you wish to cancel. The only words you can trust are the words on the contract, not the words coming out of someone's mouth!

I have for years belonged to Good Life fitness, because of the convenience I have been using the club at 55 Bloor Street West. 4 years ago I broke my spine, therefore, between my age and a few years of limited activity I just found it very difficult to get the results that I was looking for and I started to play with the thought of a personal trainer.

All I wanted was someone to guide me in the right direction, when working out in the club I started to check out the different trainers, such as how connected they were with their clients sessions, their attitude and personality and so on. I finally decided on one trainer, his name is Richard Chan.

I signed a contract for 72 sessions on March 25th (which was never my intentions) but I got manhandled into to signing, not by Richard but by the person that at this time was in charge of personal training at the club, his name is David, it could also be called good salesman ship, however the total cost was $5, 207.04.

This is not why I am sending you this complain, just the background on what lead up to this disaster. On April 29th I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my left breast, there is no words to describe how it feels to be told that you have cancer, because that only happens to other people.

At the time I went to the club to see what could be done about my money, I only had used 8 sessions at the time and I was hoping for a refund for at least 62. David was no longer there, instead a young woman by the name of Sherika “most likely the wrong spelling” when I related to her why I wanted to cancel my sessions she never acknowledged what I was saying, instead I got a song and a dance how I could put my sessions on hold, I became so angry with her attitude and indifference I had to leave, my intention was to go back a few days later when I had calmed down. Instead, just to get my anger out I sent a email to Good Life Fitness members experience but I never received a response.

I then went back to the club to speak with Sherika and got another go around, I was told that I needed a doctor’s note, “fair enough” I went to my family doctor and got one, plus another written request of a refund which I hand delivered to Sherika on May 8th she told me that the head office would handle it from then on. Now this is what is upsetting, no one have contacted me at all, yesterday I sent them another email to please acknowledge that they had received my mail but I am just being ignored, I really hope that someone will be able to help me because this frustration is extremely stressful.

GoodLife Fitness discriminating bigots

I attended this gym for four months, and from the minute i walked into their facility, i was harassed by the personal trainers. I was called "sir", and mocked and ridiculed because i present in an androgynous manner. They would gang up and bully me relentlessly. When i complained to the management their response was referencing their "token" lesbian Allison they have on staff, and that "she gets called sir all the time doesnt bother her". They also told me that the guys involved had called me "sir" in error. However, they said and i quote "hope you had a good workout out today SIR" as i was going into the women's only section to continue my workout. Had they of truly thought i was a male, dont you think they would have prevented me from going in? The managers are unobjective and totally unprofessional. When i was referencing one of the trainers by name and his misconduct with me, she kept on correcting my enunciation of his name. Why is it more imperative that i say someone's name correctly but it isnt an important issue when they mistakenly reference my "gender"? I was perpetually harassed by the trainers friends and colleagues on the floor when i was trying to work out; goading and harassing me interrupting my workout i would do alone in the studio. In fact there was an elderly woman that came into the studio when i was well established in my workout and proceeded to hit GOLF BALLS one of which missed my face literally by half an inch. When i went out to complain etc, i said it was a matter of safety; i had asked her to move and she refused. Luiz Hernandez told her to stop hitting the balls because it was a potential risk, and then turned and verbally attacked me saying i had no right to be using the studio to run; go run outside or on a treadmill, and that i was disrupting the use of the studio by "their members". so an us and you scenario. If i can go run outside, then she can go hit her golf balls in her backyard or at a park! I have just as much right to use the space and how i see fit especially when i was in the space FIRST. The manager defended this woman and said i was the one "being unreasonable and she had every right to hit golf balls" at my head no less. ? Then the final broo ha was i was in the body attack class and these two large statured women kept hedging in on my space while i was trying to do class. We set to the floor for push ups and this woman had her spot taken by another woman so she takes my space. She literally put her big huge smelly clown feet directly in my face. I said excuse me will you please move up so your feet arent in my face? She smiled and laughed and refused to move. I finally hit her feet with my left hand and said how disrespectful. I said if someone else took your spot go deal with it with her instead of bullying me and being rude to me. Show some respect. Jen Toop put ME out saying i was the one that was inappropriate for "hitting" her feet. Well why is it that certain ones of us are designated subordinate and our rights and feelings dont matter s much as anyone else that exists? That is blatant discrimination and inequity.
They put me out of all Goodlife centres in canada because this woman bullied me and i dared to stand up for myself; because the personal trainers were violating my human rights, and i spoke up against it, that some rude and irrational woman came into a space after me that i was already using and starting hitting golf balls at my skull and i didnt tolerate it or think there was nothing wrong with that.
These people are a bunch of unprofessional redneck narrow minded ignorant hillbillies. The equipment is never fixed, the equipment in the womens area is second rate compared to the co-ed floor even tho a woman supposedly manages the place, and they gossip like a bunch of teenagers online. They have an attitude problem and nothing to show for it. The trainers were mad at me too because i dodged their annoying never ending harassment trying to get me to buy into their personal training rip offs. I witnessed them speaking disrespectfully to their clients young and old. They have NO ONE over the age of 35 acting as a fitness professional in the club. If you ride on the bus, or are of low socioeconomic status they will not either hire you or permit you to attend.
I wouldnt go there if you are rights minded and believe that all people regardless of ability or disability have the same equal right to enjoyment inclusion and RESPECT AND EQUITY.

Well go take some hydroxycut and call me in the morning. Jen and what was your name again? youre so truly forgetful.
I was hardly "mean or rude or aggressive". If standing up for myself against your bigotry renders you an excuse then use it.
You are so pathetic.
Im so glad im not you . go eat something and drink some beer and live under your pitiful and sad patriarch Windsor ON. lol Some of us dont live in the dark ages, respect diversity, dont harass it then scapegoat it and lie to qualify your mistreatment thereof. If i was mean or angry or disruptive or whatever it was because i was being endlessly harassed. If someone sticks her jealous clown feet in my face, and i ask her to move and she laughs at me and sticks them in my face further? talk about immaturity. She is lucky that a back hand to her clown feet is all the jealous ### got. Next time ill do it Toronto style. Fill in the blanks red neck. cue the banjo music. lmao

wow...love the anger portrayed here against free speech...not one of the comments is true, the claims that "I know exactly who you are" ###...if someone hits me, no matter where I am, a gym, a grocery store, doesn't matter, they should be kicked out of that facility...or charged with assault...no matter WHO they are. As for the pathetic rhetoric regarding discrimination, give me a break...the reason people know who you are Donna is because you are very rude, aggressive, disruptive, and downright nasty to people. Discrimination is not at issue here...you were not singled out except for your own doing...hitting, swearing, etc.

as for the other comments, you just made my point by calling the people complaining against you "fat"...rude...you should really think about what you say before releasing the words from your mouth...KKK mentality? Ku Klux Klan references? Really?

And as far as me being deliberately aggressive with you and you calling me a FB, you need help...I mean really, how immature and an obvious attempt at getting attention.

What does treating someone "butch" even mean? Is that a way of qualifying your mistreatment of someone that presents in a way that you dont approve of? Hence why she says that you are a bunch of red neck meaning ignorant bigots. I couldnt agree more. As far as the token lesbian comment; it was highlighting their attitudes of singling her out when she complained about what was going on... and as far as the women referencing her claiming they knew who she was and their experiences with her in the change room the studio etc. This is hard evidence of the "othering" she was subjected to if they even know off the top who this person is. It sounds like a very hostile unprofessional KKK mentality as far as im concerned. The woman that claimed she came into the studio to her saying f B**** i know for a fact that this woman was friends with Luis one of the personal trainers and one of the "friends" she referenced that would constantly and deliberately disrupt and harass her as she worked out on the floor and in private in an attempt to get her to react and then get put out. Bunch of pathetic bullies. And the girl that wrote that comment is a bleach blonde desperado that has no self esteem and extremely insecure. The comments saying she should buy equipment and work out with her cats in her basement apartment; it would probably be healthier for her to do so then to be around your toxic bigoted pathetic ###. Jealous. First and last. Jealous. The comments about the cats and innuendos around the mental health and socioeconomic status and her mental health status around "anti social" etc PROVES again the attitude towards her was bone fida of discrimination and harassment. Even if she DOES have mental health issues or is anti social ( i wonder why she would be with such glowing experiences around such great people like yourselves) she still has the right to inclusion under the ontario disabilities act. As far as being charged for battery? Next time make it worth your while then and actually give her what she deserves. Im sure this woman was in better shape then the majority of the unhealthy witch hunters that bullied her there and even here in this forum. So highschool. pathetic. read a book and move . You need to experience life obviously not everyone lives like you and it doesnt make them inferior or unworthy of respect and inclusion!

If youre butch ill treat you butch? What does that mean even? So you admit you have a bigoted and differential treatment towards someone you perceive presents "butch". As far as the token lesbian thing, that is what THEY placed her as to excuse their bigotry; if you were intelligent enough to get it. And as far as the women here that claimed they "saw me in their change room" and that "cursed" at them etc. Whatever; case in point that all you people did was harass and gossip and alienate me from the minute i stepped foot in the place. Other wise how would you know who i was? hot gossip fodder was it? And as far as the person i supposedly called an "f b****" you were deliberately aggressive with me disrupting my workouts constantly trying to get me to react so that i would be thrown out; in fact you are Luis' "honey" or wanna be anyways. You are so desperate yourself and so insecure it is pathetic. ps youre fat.

Your perspective is full of contradictions. I have attended this particular location for well over a decade and have never had issue with any of the staff. I find it hard to believe that a woman purposefully hit golf balls at your head, that any of the personal trainers would speak to you in the manner you describe. I have found that the staff do their best to build personal yet professional relationships with members. Like I said, I have never experienced any unprofessional conduct. Maybe I go into the gym to work out and enjoy the stress relief this affords me at the end of my busy work days. I have never been told "have a good day ma'am" since the staff all know my name and make it a point to be courteous. You use terms such as redneck, unprofessional, bigots, etc. Have you ever considered that your personal issues are let loose upon anyone who YOU do not approve of? You will not remember, possibly because there have been many people you have offended, but you actually yelled at me once in regards to walking into the fitness studio. I believe your words were something to the effect to 'get the "F" out of here, I was here first you F-ing B'...I am not interested in swearing or belittling you, but I have to wonder why, if you were treated so poorly, why would you wish to remain? Equal rights and all that, at the end of the day, your behaviour is so outrageoes that many are thankful that your membership has been revoked so that we may continue to enjoy OUR time at the gym as we have prior to your one against the world attitudes against a wonderful facility with wonderful staff. There are a number of community centres who may be better suited to your needs...less people in YOUR space. ps...I will not name names such as you have, however, those you have named or described are all good people who do not deserve your criticisms or your form of harrassment. Enjoy your life and please let others enjoy theirs.

I attend this same gym and witnessed your aggressive behaviour toward a woman in the change room one day. She and I were chatting and you walked in, stared at her, shook your head and did the crazy finger spin at her. When you went into the washroom she asked me what she did to get that reaction, sincerely baffled. We did nothing to instigate this behaviour from you and she was a little shaken from it. Frankly, many of us knew to avoid eye contact with you and it had everything to do with attitude and not appearance, by the way. I feel sad for you and hope you find some peace in yourself. Maybe you were harassed and hurt in the past but don't carry that with you. You can live your life behaving like a victim who has to challenge everyone or realize that not everyone is against you. Smile and the world smiles with you. It's true!
