1. Being accused of being a thief. 2nd Not receive cash refund
I purchased clothes and was told I can get refund if they don't fit within 7 days. NOT TRUE!
Not fair, since the store doesn't allow you try them on first. I would NEVER have purchased them only make second trip to receive store credit only. Not what I was told. I should of received cash back they got their stuff back. I will NOT shopping here no more.
Prices at Goodwill
As a teacher, I have shopped at Goodwill to buy supplies and items for school. The prices have jumped dramatically! Items that were one 99 cents are 1.99. Items that were once 1.99 are 4.99. I now see items that are priced for 9.99, 19.99 and 24.99.
I am astonished that a company that gets donated items, and whose mission is to help those in need, is trying to make such a large profit. While in the store, other customers are noticing the higher prices.
I'm disappointed that Goodwill appears to be price gouging with inflated prices.
Their original mission was to help the community and now they are taking advantage of the community.
Desired outcome: I would like to see prices reduced.
I have been a long time shopper at Goodwill. Any where we go we always hunt for the Goodwill's in the area. At one Goodwill we were at a gentleman was needing a shirt for a interview and didn't have enough money to buy the shirt. We watched the gentleman begged for her to let him have the shirt for the money he had. She wouldn't, we felt so bad for the guy that we paid for it. I thought that is part of whom you all were. That put a bad taste in my mouth. But I continue to shop at Goodwill. I go in to the stores now and can't afford the items that have been donated to you. I can get kids shirts at Walmart new one cheaper than at a Goodwill. I have found items with the original store stickers on them and your price is more. I will bring it to a clerk's attention and they just said that is what they have to charge for it. Come on people, you are given you inventory and it is getting so high that I can't shop there anymore. Maybe your CEO should stop looking through his rose colored glasses and realized that we can't pay what he can and be living like he does. Your employees are over worked and under paid and he sets on his millions of dollars. Hum something just isn't right about this.
Purchase
I Purchased a pair of slacks at the Goodwill auction in Southwest Wisconsin. The heading stated that the pants were new with tags. They included photos. When I received the slacks, there was a huge fade mark that they had not mentioned in their description. The slacks were $80, John Varvatos. I didn’t open the package for about two weeks because I was sick. So, the moment I opened the package that was the first thing that I noticed. I contacted their department. And included the pictures and the pictures they posted online where this fade mark was visible. They told me I could send them back on my dime, not theirs and I loose my shipping and handling PLUS, I have to ship it back for $15! The lady I dealt with was RUDE! She kept mentioning that as a “courtesy” she’d take them back under HER terms. Terrible!
Desired outcome: Full refund in exchange for the slacks. False advertisement!
Volunteer sign in issue
From about October 2021 to present I have been volunteering on and off at the Riverview Florida location. Every time I have an encounter with the manager Robin it has not been pleasant. She is very rude, disrespectful and unmannerly. I have not had any problems with any other manager(s) or employees.
As a volunteer, there is not a great system in place for signing in/out. You constantly have to track down someone to assist. Today I entered the office, looking for someone to sign me in. I ran into Robin, and while I was in the process of asking her for assistance. She rudely stated, "I'm in a meeting find someone else upfront".
I was so disappointed and thrown off by her rude and callous demeanor, that it upset me so greatly, I left.
Her behavior in no way represents what Goodwill projects as a company. Her being a representative for such a humble and gracious establishment, does it no justice.
I hope this is not the interaction the clients have with her on a daily basis.
Truly disappointed and disgusted volunteer and customer.
Desired outcome: Robin needs to be coached on all things customer/client facing related. I hope my future experiences are pleasant.
Service related issue
I was in a GW store shopping for about 30 minutes when I had to go to the bath room. I have incontinence which means I have less than 30 seconds to make it to the bathroom. I do wear a pad. After locating a bathroom I discovered that you have a no public bathroom policy. So, I paid for my stuff and asked to speak to the manger. She stated that no public rest room policy is for the safety of the public and the employees and I said that it was rediculous in the mean - time I was peeing. She told me to go to a store that had a public bathroom giving not location where there was one. I then drove back home which took 20 minutes. By the time I got home I soaked my clothes, my car seat and my dignity.
I want a legal statement stating that by having a no public bathroom is for safety reasons. If you cannot provide me with one than I expect because of my disability you have to let me use the rest room facilities.
Desired outcome: An apology. A statement that I have requested about the legality of no public rest room and your explanation of why your store deny access to the rest room of a disabled person. My phone is [protected]

On Monday December 6th I found over $60 worth of stuff to bring home with me from Goodwill on the White Horse Pike in Hammonton NJ. I went to the register and checked out. The person working at the register said that the receipt was printing so I could not leave because the sale might not of went through. I waited a little bit for the register to "unfreeze"...
Read full review of Goodwill Industriesmanager rude and would not exchange shoes
I went to Goodwill on 4570 HIGLEY RD IN GILBERT, and the cashier was rude, little young girls who act condescending toward you, went to get manager who took 15-20 minutes to appear, she appeared, tall hispanic lady with an attitude. She could clearly see it was goodwill shoes cuz I just got them yesterday, check the camera, see me in line paying for it. I did not have a receipt because I wore them and thrown away receipt. I just wanted to exchange them, no refund, she change them for a size that fits, the shoes I bought was too tight, and tight shoes are not comfortable. I was so disappointed she should not be a manager she had no customer service skills at all, she stated its our policy no receipt no exchange.
I have been coming to Goodwill for years and never had an experience like this, I donate etc. and you refuse to exchange a used pair of shoes!
please help me out, this should not happen.
Desired outcome: i want some more shoes
Employee Treatment
This is in regards to the Cardiff Circle Goodwill location in Egg Harbor Township NJ. Completely and utterly disrespectful and disgusting management. Very very poor management. I put my two weeks in because a better paying offer was available to me, and the managers both started calling me "traitor" to my face. As if that was my name … disgusting behavior being as they're supposed to be managers.. I did not finish my last two weeks because I will not be disrespected and called out of my name and still come to work for people like that. Maybe there's a reason they can't hire or keep anybody. Managers Edwin and Alexis both need to be reevaluated and checked. Disgusting. Never will I shop in that location again and I will never come to work for them again since they wanted to burn the bridge with me for wanting to do better in life. I hope they learn how to properly treat employees and maybe one day they'll be able to keep employees for longer.
At the Goodwill location on Flowing Wells Rd. In Tucson, the people at the checkout need a lesson on focusing on what the customer is trying to ask them. Especially when the customer is an 84 yr old woman trying to find out why the only skirt she was interested in, and could wear was priced higher than the others. They should either plug in and listen better, or not think they can ignore people, because they think they don't matter, or they don't want to deal with them. Thank you.
The manager
I occasionally like to go to this store and look around for sales. It is in my neighborhood. Yesterday November 20, 2022 I went in with a cart and just started to look around. I found a couple items that I put in my cart when the manager came up and grabbed the top item and said there is no price on this, I will get a price and left with it. I was confused but I waited for her to come back. When she did she said that she is the one who prices the items but cannot price this item because it had no tag on it but I had to wait 24 hours before she did it. I was shocked and asked why she couldn't just price it for me now. She leaves again and about 15 minutes later I have 5 officers she had called come up to me and ask me to go outside with them. Again very confused but went out with them where the manager was standing and accusing me of taking a sticker off an item and dropping the sticker on the ground. I said that I did not do that. The officers then said that I am banned from that store for two years. Telling me she has the right to do that as manager. I left the property in shock. There were other customers around me also looking at her in confusion. I have never been so humiliated nor have been treated like this ever in my life.
Desired outcome: Investigation into this managers behavior.
my complaint is about the Manager named Angie and her assistant named Maddie at the Goodwill store in Riceboro Ga.
i am a customer at the Goodwill store in Agusta Ga. [Riceboro] It is a very uncomfortable atmosphere for the fact that Angie and Maddie are extremely rude and demeaning to the other employees. I noticed one young lady that i have never seen in there before, until recently, so obviously she is a fairly new employee. i believe Tami was the name on her name tag. everytime I go into that store and that young lady is working she is getting yelled at by the other ladies. I made it a point to write down the names on the name tags they were wearing. Here is an example: The young lady with Tami on her name tag simply asked Angie if she could get some change for her register and she screamed at that poor girl in front of customers and slammed the register so hard it frightened myself as well as the other customers in line. That young lady did nothing wrong to be treated that way. On two other occasions I was shopping in the Goodwill Store both the lady named Angie and Maddie were treating her {Tami} just awful. i really felt sorry for the young lady and that is why i am making this comlaint.Someone with authority over how this store is operated needs to do something about how the employees there are being treated.
Desired outcome: For the employees be treated with respect.
Security personnel acting out of line
On November 4th 2021 at approximately 8:15om I met my husband at the goodwill in everett wa on everett mall way. I had a bag, some shoes, some hpusehold items of my husbands, a few clothing items for my son and my purse and jacket in my cart as well. I had previously tried on a few items for myself but nothing fit. The dressing room I used was a mess with hangers still in it.
We were waiting to be helped at the jewelry counter when. this security officer stormed up. to me and yelled in my face to open up my purse. I told him no I was not opening my purse for him. This angered him and he then ripped the cart out of my hands dug through it grabbing my jacket that was buried under the stuff I was going to purchase and accused me of hiding stuff with it when all I had done was toss my coat in the basket previously when I went to try on items.
Then he proceeded to grab my purse and demanded again that I open it now. I told him that there was nothing by my own personal belongings in my purse and that he had no right to touch me or my belongings and to get his hands off my purse and he refused. I tried to pick up my purse and he still refused to let go. Finally he did and he continued to scream at me in the middle of the store embarrassing me beyond words and told me to get out and never come back. I walked out stating I was going to call police and he laughed at me and said they wouldn't do anything. I felt so helpless in that moment.
I went to my car and before my husband left the security officer approached him and told him "dont ever bring that [censored] back in here with you again". This man was completely out of line. I had nothing but my own personal belongings in my purse and he had no right to behave the way that he did. I did not conceal anything and never even had a chance to check out before he attacked me. There was no reason for him tk behave this way.
A lady approached me in the parking lot apologizing for what had happened and stated that he was being absolutely rediculous to me. This man needs to be reprimanded for what he did
Desired outcome: I want a formal apology from the sexjrity officer and a guarantee that he will never approach me again. He also needs to be written up or fired.
Pulling 1/2 price items off the racks and throwing them in laundry carts during the time they are on sale.
If Goodwill advertises a sale (half off yellow tags on Thursday, for example) it is false advertising when they don't do what they advertise. The sale goes the whole day and you should not have to dig in laundry carts full of mixed up sale items that have been pulled off the racks before the sale is ended. Customers can easily get hurt, you could get sued, and you should. This is WRONG! Everyone likes to get a deal.
Date of Incident: Wednesday, October 27, 2021
Store: 7845 Lyndale Ave. S.
Bloomington, MN [protected]
Desired outcome: The outcome is easy, just do what you advertise!
Handling Of Items By Employees
This is to call my attention on the rough handling of items by employees at all stores I had been through in Central Florida, especially Orlando and Kissimmee.
You complain that people are not buying stuff that then ends up at the outlet and them at the landfill but a lot has to do with the way items are prepared and packed to be put on shelves.
You damage a lot of items that then won't be selected by the customers as for example, when you tape over fragile stuff or over delicate paint or paper or surfaces seals, or gilded golden trims that destroys the item rendering them ugly and unsellable.
You also try to sell things separately that should b packed as a sets so no piece is left behind and not picked up because it is a sole piece.
You don't pack securely glass with lids and don't make sure packages with boxes are closed so nothing comes out of them.
Taking these precautions you will save a lot of items that can be sold quickly for a profit to you instead of losing money from preventable damages.
And don't get me started on glass. You can make more money and more pace at the shelves if you sell the clear glass for really cheap (less than a dollar) so it goes quickly and you won't have to destroy it to make room.
For a supposedly non profit organization, you are clueless on how to deal with this issues and also help the community by not producing more garbage.
Desired outcome: Read above.
About the manager Julia at Goodwill in Big Spring
First off I believe that there is some racial issues going on at this Goodwill they're making sure that Spanish people are all kept at the registers they might pretend to hire somebody but then they try to get them off as quick as possible there is no doubt in my mind that I worked as hard as I possibly could and did everything I could write I worked there 5 days for and a half to get technical these people are lousy trainers and every time I ask a question to the main boss Julia she would roll her eyes and go on a power trip about how I need to ask her questions I even got written up for asking questions and told on the right up sheet that I did not ask questions! I believe that I am or was because I walked out today in the middle of my shift I don't need that job I wanted it however I do believe that it has to do with skin color been trying to shove all the white people off or the black person off in the back. I know that I would have excelled tremendously at my job I think she is a bogus person for the way she was treating me for the way she made me feel every time I ask her something I want this product because I met another girl that went through the same exact thing there she also said she was going to put in a complaint and she was white as well!
Employee
I was recently in a Goodwill store where I overheard employee say that if she caught of any of the shoppers putting clothes back where they didn't belong and she was going to ban them from the store for good. I think this is ridiculous and impossible really because how are the customers supposed to know where everything goes specifically, isn't that what they're employed for? Wrightsboro road Goodwill store in Augusta Georgia
Desired outcome: I just wish that people that acted like that would be and told the proper way to handle things in situations like this
