John, the salesmen came out the same day I called. Very informative and professional. The installer was a different John and did an absolutely wonderful job - Exceeded my expectations! 85ft wooden privacy fence between and around all my beautiful trees covered with ivy. Done in 2 days. Even brought my garbage can in! Such a great experience and I'd recommend them to anyone!

We had Great Lakes Fence do 3 fence projects for us at our home in the backyard from 2008 to 2011. The white vinyl fence got damaged by winds and bad weather in March and again in March . I called Great Lakes Fence many times, sent a few emails, and sent pictures of the fence damage. My husband and I wanted them to fix it, but they ignored us and we never heard back.

Since we put in our gate a year ago, it's been breakin' a bunch of times. Just recently, it broke on 6/10. We ain't been gettin' much communication 'bout when it's gonna get fixed. The person we've been talkin' to only said they ordered the part, but that ain't enough. We need a specific time and date for when it's gonna be fixed, and we need 'em to promise it won't break again. The work quality, or maybe it's the work itself, has been pretty bad, leadin' to lots of breaks.

On Tuesday December 7th, Great Lakes Fence Co. put up a vinyl privacy fence in my backyard. I couldn't check it right away because it was already dark when I got home from work. I bought locks for the fence gates and on Thursday December 9th, I went out with a flashlight to lock them. That's when I saw that the water spigot in the backyard was running and the whole yard was flooded. I also noticed that the spigot I had installed was broken, along with the hose caddy. The installers were supposed to use my water for their cement mixes, but it seems like they weren't careful with my stuff.
On Saturday December 11th, my wife and I had dinner reservations to celebrate her birthday. But in the afternoon, some wind blew and the fence started to buckle along its entire length. It was on the verge of collapsing. I called for help and they said someone would come fix it right away. But nobody showed up and nobody called to say they couldn't make it. We had to cancel our plans and wait for someone who never came.
Weeks later, I talked to Great Lakes Fence about these problems. They accused me of lying about the broken hose caddy, the running water, and the spigot damage. They didn't offer any compensation or help. They even said that since there were no cameras to prove they were responsible, I had to pay the full amount for the installation immediately or they would send me to collections. I was so mad that I hung up without paying the remaining half. I think I deserve a discount on the fence. The pictures I took were at night when I discovered the issues.

I contactd Great Lakes Fence on August 11, 2022 about damages to the fence and they told me to take pictures and send them to the manager, *** email with details. I got an email response from *** on August 13th and they told me that the damage done to the fence wasn't covered under the warranty. After reading *** email response, I called him to talk more about what was in his email. He said that none of the damages as he could tell were covered under the warranty and it was then I asked him about repairs and pointed out that there were several dents at the bottom of the fence in several areas and he said it was because of a lawnmower, but it's not because it's almost all around the bottom of the fence and my landscaper doesn't cut that close to the fence. I was also told that the crack in the fence wasn't covered under warranty and it looks like a rock had hit it, like a rock hitting a car that would make a dent in the car and I agreed with him and said that it's possible something did hit it; however, I would like to have it fixed or replaced like I would do if my car had damages and asked him how much it would cost. I called *** again on August 22nd and told him that it would be better if he could send someone out because I couldn't get anyone to fix it if I picked it up like he initially asked. He told me that it would take about three weeks for a crew to be in this area. I reached out to *** again leaving a message for him on September 21st and September 22nd asking to speak to the owner, *** and so far, I haven't gotten a response from *** the owner or *** the manager. In the meantime, a piece of the top of the fence came off on Monday, September 26th and I put it back on the fence as well as finding a small piece of the fence that had broken off from somewhere, problems with the lock on the gate, durability, and the list goes on.
