Lack of communication and deception on the part of Great Western has resulted in extensive delays in my building project Signed contract with
Lack of communication and deception on the part of Great Western has resulted in extensive delays in my building project Signed contract with Great Western on Oct. 4 2020 for a steel bldg. *** Feb. 26, 2021 I signed off on the final plans. After this there was no communication from Great Western about the status of my project. I repeatedly tried to reach my project manager with no luck. I was informed by email on April 30 that the effects of covid/ tariffs were causing a delay in my project. I was receiving no communication about the status of my project or the impact this would have on final pricing, in fact the only communication to this day has been in response to my inquiries. By May 1st I still hadn't received word from my project manager about the manufacturing approval that was needed to put my project into production. I once again requested them. *** May 4th I was told the price of my project would be going up because the window of time for the initial price had elapsed. *** May 11 I sent another email complaining about the lack of communication and the increase in my project cost. After raising concerns with *** Director of *** the Manufacturing approval was finally sent to me on May 30. It was at this time that I was informed for the first time that it would not be 6-8 weeks for delivery after signing of manufacturing approval. I heard nothing from Great Western about the status until 10/6 in response to my email. I was told delivery would be spring 2022.*** 12/23 in response to my email I was told that the delay was now due to the new fabrication facility in *** not being up and running. Again on Feb 7 22. in response to an email from me I was told delays were due to their new manufacturing facility not being running. The only time I hear from Great Western is when I complain in an email.

I purchased on October 7th for $86,000
I purchased on October 7th for $86,000. I was told 6-8 months lead time - "for sure by June" , 2022 I placed a $30,000 deposit. After submitting the deposit, I was told that my hangar door required an additional $8,000 in engineering design. GWB had the door specs prior to bidding the contract. At this point, the bid was no longer competitive, so I asked for my deposit back and they refused saying that I signed a contract. I immediately retained an attorney at which time the owner stepped in to salvage the situation. He dropped the re-engeering fee to $3300 and assured me the rest of the project would go smooth. I was in a time-crunch for the building (selling my home and building a new one) and I did not want to start from scratch so I moved forward. TIMELINE:11/16 - Final Drawings approved - Received Engineer Stamped Permit Drawings on 12/22.11/29 - "***, looking at your placement in the queue, you are about 3 weeks out from being started." - Project Manager via email 12/8 - "***, your project is 10th from what they are currently working on." - Project Manager via email On 7/5/2022 (8 months later) - I asked for regular status updates and I received "Delivery Lead Time: 16 - 20 Weeks from completed Permit Drawings" Those were completed 12/22? It is now July!Sales promised June, *** had to adjust to September, then November. *** has passed the buck to the next excuse maker who at last conversation said the building is scheduled to go into production on 10/29. The conversation prior... 10/24. The owner told me before that... 10/17. Purely reactive communication throughout the process! Except for invoicing! I just recently received a document asking me to sign for a freight charge for $8,092.75 when on 10/27 the *** quoted me $4,815.00 for freight. This company removes negative comments from its *** videos. I used those videos to help me select a company. They are hiding their bad reputation. VERY SAD!

I signed a contract for a 80'x76' steel building January 31, 2022. At that time Delivery was estimated to be Summer 2022. I paid $15,000 Engineering Deposit on 1/31/2022. I paid Manufacturing Deposit $14,890 on 4/5/2022. Delivery was estimated to be Late Summer. on 4/12/2022 I paid *** $1,850 to do foundation engineering. Status updates has be very sparse from Project manager. I have gotten a series of reasons it has been taking longer. In September I was told by the Project Manager's supervisor that it would be December 2022. Today the Project Manager asked me if Scheduling the building for manufacturing May 2023 is OK. It not OK. This company was great to work with until that had my money. Be warned.
We originally ordered and placed a considerable down payment on a steel building with this company in April 2022. We have had very little communication from them. We initiate all. We are then told delivery is moved back and given all kinds of platitudes and promises, then more silence. Our delivery time has moved several times. After more silence we initiate communication again, and it all starts over. More delay, more excuses, more promises and then more silence. We have been passed off to four different personell along the way, and are now facing the potential loss of tremendous financial loss due to yet another broken promise.
Signed contract, #***, paid deposit 2/5
Signed contract, #***, paid deposit 2/5.Year #1: Promised delivery dates changed from Aug 2021, then Sept 2021, disappointed each time due to excuses (supply, manufacturing, fabrication, product, 3rd party builder, new business start up, welders, computer chips, equip testing). Ultimately I was promised my building in early spring 2022.Year #2: All communications were initiated by me. My calls were usually returned, never was my PM proactive in communicating anything. I found a *** video on what to expect with my delivery. The order number on that truck was a 170 higher than mine. GWB was loading and delivering buildings with orders placed after mine! Also seen through other online posts, GWBs is satisfying customer orders placed after mine.PMs backup did return my call in Apr 2022 having a few conversations, even learning I was #3 on his whiteboard, he was trying to pair me with someone for delivery, and my order was marked ASAP. He said I should have my building by *** 2022. With this new commitment I felt confident; I ordered hangar door and insulation. Well I should have listened to my wife! True to form, GWB left me hanging again! Now I have a rusting door sitting on my cement slab and $80/mo insulation storage fee, and a soon-to-expire building permit. My PM returns and tells me that *** is not possible because of steel prices. He was bold enough to tell me that *** "can not go bankrupt trying to get me my building". The audacity of his very telling comment! Next delivery date given is Oct 2022, which is now Nov! How do you go from #3 on a white board / pair for delivery / ASAP in April 2022 to there is no end in sight? How is it that when we signed a contract in February , 572 days later, still no building? Without success I have asked multiple times to have the owner call me and tried calling him. All of this is unacceptable business practice and customer service, deceptive, and quite frankly I feel it is unethical.

I purchased a building kit in February 2022 with a delivery date of July, that got delayed then August was the scheduled delivery. I had a delivery date set that *** set and so they sent me the request to pay in full as it was shipping in 14 days. I paid them $120,000 and now they continue to delay delivery, 3 different dates in 6 weeks now they have changed the ship date to approximately 10/31. The last delay they blame on the siding and trim but I found out they havent even finished the building steel components. This company lies they take your money and I not sure they are ever going to deliver. The owner *** tells you something but then changes it without telling you. They alway delay things 3 week at a time. I have been trying to reach *** by email, text and phone calls to no avail. They have now cost me the the cost of the building and the contractor that I higher because they have other jobs and just cant keep waiting when they continue to delay delivery.
9/30 paid *** $16,404.34 down pmt for a 40x30 metal *** stamped drawings. 11/24 pd $1,600 to *** for foundation plan. San Bernardino County rejected the engineers stamp as its was due to expire before they could issue our "permit". Also rejected *** as not on their approved provider list. *** will not fix either problem prohibiting issuance of our building permit. They refuse to refund any money paid stating they have a "no refund policy". 9-30-22 A YEAR LATER WE Sent certified letter canceling building & again requested refund as *** cannot comply with our county laws. We've lost the welding contractor we scheduled to erect in summer 2022 from *** nonresponse. We received nothing for our deposit. Taking money for something you are not legal to provide is FRAUD. All we want is our money back.
I called and talked the *** (greater western buildings) to get a 40'x80' pole barn structure for a house for my family half would be house the other half would be shop. 08/13 they took my down payment of ***. I was told that the structure would be delivered by late spring/early summer of 2022. then I was told June/July. then I was told the soonest I could get the structure was *** of 2023. at that point I told them that I want to cancel, and I want my down payment money. they said that I wouldn't be getting my down payment back due to me signing a non-refundable contract. at which point I told them that I was told that my structure was to be here by late spring not *** of 2023. At this time I am sending the *** a formal letter requesting canulation of our contract and the return of down payment per Wis State Ch.136

I hope this helps other families to find an alternate route if your wanting to go with a metal building supplier
I hope this helps other families to find an alternate route if your wanting to go with a metal building supplier. Please please read the contract. You will not get your deposit back. Even if your building wasnt in manufacturing. In March 22 we place our deposit for a 30x40x16 through GWB. GWBs process was very clean and their drawings and proposals make it seem like they have everything together. However, after our deposit we realized a lot was smoke and mirrors. We were assigned multiple project managers on a short period of time. Neither were the best at communication. Also, they will call before sending to engineering and upscale you on straight columns and multiple other options and this will all be an additional cost. They send automated updates that are supposed to tell you dates for your project however they are never correct due to manufacturing issues. No matter what you say or bring to the table they will repeat this over and over again. In the end they arent interested in delivering you a building. They are interested in your money. If they cared for the customer as much as they say they would refund deposits for projects that cant meet deadlines. We had to back out due to our construction loan. In the beginning we were told June/July and it seemed like every time we talked to GWB it was pushed another month. Finally we were told December. Which would of given me 3 months to finish the interior before our interest rates would change. again GWB doesnt care all they will tell you is they want to deliver your building. They dont care what you have to say even if your telling them that timeline doesnt work. Upon asking for my deposit back I was given to the *** and told he would take care of me. 20 calls and *** the contract stating the deposit is non refundable and they arent liable for delays. So there is no accountability holding them in check. I pray the company begins deposit refund soon.

I entered into contract with GWB on 11/11
I entered into contract with GWB on 11/11. Paid a deposit of $3,000.00 at that point and then another *** on November 11 to this date I have nothing but broken promises and excuse after excuse. At this point I have over 60K invested from tree removal to plumbing and electrical work not to mention the foundation and floor concrete work all ready by the time I was promised the building would be complete - the second promised date. I was told June/July then that was moved to Oct/Nov 2021 then it moved to Feb/March and now I am being told maybe it could possibly, potentially be done by June/July 2022. My building permit was requested approved and paid for on Feb 23,2021. I also have 16K in garage doors ordered in May *** I need to start paying rent for storage.I was required to redo the foundation engineering (another ***) as this was a "monolithic" pour and that this was not advised for this area and the building. In December *** March via email. When I emailed called and texted I again received an email from the project manager stating: "I do not show anything definitive for the shipping date yet but we are getting closer. Based on your place in the queue I'd say that sometime in March is still a possibility. We are still in the process of getting the shop geared up to run at capacity at which point we expect things to move fast."My contract says average of 12 weeks which was the expectation set by them - not me. Clearly this is a misleading and fraudulent statement they have told both myself and others. (looking at the other reviews). I am also in contact with an attorney to review my contract rights (there is only a termination by GWB) I need a refund or a delivery of the building as promised MULTIPLE times.I understand manufacturing delays but this is unacceptable and ridiculous.

Feb '21 we contacted Great Western and received a quote for order ***
Feb '21 we contacted Great Western and received a quote for order ***. Similar to all the other complaints I am seeing on the ComplaintsBoard.com website about this company, the communication was terrible. We were planning to build in Summer '21 after we were told it would be possible. We were about to execute on our construction loan.A few days before we signed the loan we were told it would be delayed until Spring '22. We lost $750 due to the appraisal we had to pay for, but we moved on. We were accepting of the delays because of Covid and all the other supply chain related issues. We couldn't get responses from the project manager, and if I did it would be days or weeks, so it took forever to get the plans. We received our erection drawings in Sep '21 with a note that said delivery would be "Late Spring/Early *** We submitted for permits and that also took months to get that resolved. We couldn't speak with the engineer to get clarification for the building department. We finally got that resolved after hiring another engineer and incurring even more cost to find out we still required a response from Great Western and finally received an engineer letter to explain the information the department requested. The project manager said we still didn't have a delivery date. We received a text from our sales person *** that said we were scheduled for delivery end of Jun '22. That was on April 14, '22. So we proceeded with our new construction loan in May '22 based on that info. I received an email that delivery was actually going to be end of July on Jun 3. I made my final payment as requested on Jun 30, then Jul 7 I was told that the delivery was actually Aug 19. I am incurring interest on that final payment I made in good faith. I contacted an attorney who said I have a case for Detrimental Reliance. I requested a phone call and was told someone would call me. Nothing yet. I would like delivery and a discount to cover costs incurred. Told 75 people in my same position

October I contacted *** in sales regarding a 50 x 50 Metal building
October I contacted *** in sales regarding a 50 x 50 Metal building. He quoted timelines to me that once the permit plan was issued by Great Western it was taking now *** weeks for delivery verses 6-8 weeks as advertised. In November, I transferred the $8942.50 deposit. Then was assigned a project manager ***. I added a few things like increased wind load and provided another deposit $1000.00. Permit plan received 3/18 JOB ***. Since then, I have been promised this building by summer of 2021, Fall of 2021, March 2022, Summer of 2022. I have spoken with ***-Project manager at the time. Previously I reached out to ***- director over project management, *** VP, ***, and now ***. Over and over I keep getting excuses Covid, fabrication company in *** not performing (which *** never indicated that they didn't do their own fabrication), had to open their own fabrication in *** after Pueblo building fell through, Welder chip coming in late, short on materials and a variety of excuses. I asked for my deposit back. They said NO. I called *** in June and he informed me that my building will ship August 11, 2022. I left messages for *** and *** on July 12 regarding a confirmation. Then get an email from *** on July 13 indicating it's been delayed AGAIN. I have quotes from other manufacturers and can get a building in 6 weeks but I refuse to be out of 10 grand deposit!I REQUIRE AT THIS TIME A SPECIFIC, CONCRETE DATE FOR SHIPPING AND RECEIPT OF BUILDING WITH NO CHANGES. I have to have equipment on site to unload, and I cannot schedule my erection contractor without a date. I live in a mountain community with little resources and these date changes create havoc for labor crews AND ME! It may snow in September at this elevation and no work can be done after that. I also lease my land to Elk hunters September, October and November. This whole ordeal has been a nightmare and needs to be fixed.

I ordered my building and paid my down payment on 7/31
I ordered my building and paid my down payment on 7/31. At this time i was told by my project manager that i was looking at early spring delivery and that he thought he might even be able to do a little earlier. I recived my erection drawings on 10/13 and was told that was going to be late spring/early summer 2022 delivery. After multiple phone calls and no response i was sent an email 3/21/22 that said they were waiting on equipment for their factory and that it would operating on 4/2022. once it was operating the email said "the floodgates will open" and they could give me an accurate timeline for my project.4/13/2022 i was told that i was not scheduled yet but i was further ahead than they thought and that they were producing buildings. 5/13/22 i was told that i was just waiting for the scheduler to pair me up with another building for delivery and that i would have a date soon. Didnt hear anything back until 7/6/2022 and i was told that i was going to be scheduled for september 2022 delivery but i didnt have a exact day yet. On 7/13 i recived an email saying that they were going to be sending weekly updates and that their lead times for new customer *** weeks after the engineered drawings were complete which is was a lie. I then received a call 9/2022 from someone that i have have never talked to and they told me that he could not give me a date on when to expect delivery but he thought it would be the first quarter of 2023 but could not guarantee that. I then asked for my money back and they refused which i expected. After multiple phone calls over a 3 week period i received a call 12/6 from my project manager say that i have a delivery date of 6/5/2023. When i voiced my concern that i was never going to get a building and that their sales people were telling new customers when they called that they would get a building early summer of 2023 and that they were lying to people he didnt really have much to say. He just passed me off to someone else.

In February we began shopping for a metal building
In February we began shopping for a metal building. After contacting GWB they pushed us for a deposit to lock in the price of our project in order to secure our spot and price. We put in a deposit with GWB and on April 27 was assigned a case manager *** shortly thereafter. Expected delivery date was August. GWB informed us that the August deadline was not going to be met due to Covid disruptions and supply chain issues. We understood, told them to keep us updated. Throughout 2021 we were told that a delivery date would be "soon", usually pushed back 1-2 months from September, October, Nov, etc.January 2022 GWB informed us that they were waiting for a pull through welder and that the "flood gates" on fulfilling back orders would be coming. We were slotted for a spring completion time. After talking with *** on May 27th, of 2022 he assured us that a September delivery time would be guaranteed. In August we were told that a Nov. delivery time was now scheduled. Today, Nov. 2 we were told that our project was not scheduled for fabrication and that they were going to schedule our fabrication in April 2023, 2 years after putting the deposit. They also said that if we wanted to "prioritized" that we could pay an updated materials cost otherwise our project would be scheduled whenever prices came down. When asked about cancelling the project and receiving the deposit back GWB stated that it was nonrefundable. We have been extremely sympathetic to the market disruptions brought on by Covid but after 2 years of delays and push backs I no longer believe that GWB is suffering from the same disruptions that had been an issue in 2021, as evidenced by their social media with other projects being completed as well as on the ComplaintsBoard.com site with resolutions being resolved. I cannot recommend doing business with an entity that does not honor the terms of the agreement nor one that tries to extract more money after 2 years in limbo.

I started my building order process the beginning of March
I started my building order process the beginning of March . After speaking with a local who also ordered a building from them he informed me he and his wife were given a veteran discount. I then asked GWB for the veteran discount and they said my building was too far into the production process because the price was set and my deposit submitted. This was May . I was told delivery of my product by August/September. I was then told November or December. Then January 2022. I began my construction Loan January 2022 figuring it couldnt take too much longer. I was then pushed back to March 2022 but told I was coming close to the top of the list. I continued dirt work/concrete/ engineering and so on. I have been paying construction interest and incurred costs obviously since that time. I was then told may or June 2022 then July, then The first week of August. Then the end of August. End of July 2022 I paid the full in remaining balance when I was notified they required final payment. I was just told it will now be October 2022. Im now talking with an Attorney and exploring my options. I know there is a customer here (mentioned before) who ordered his building after mine and received his May 2022. This company must be putting us little guys who ordered literally years ago on the back burner to service bigger companies. *** was for the most part good to deal with. But the treatment this company has given me by taking my hard earned money, but not reliving a product in a timely manner, and making me pay months in interest accrual with repeated promises of delivery is just down right not becoming of a good business. If you cant service your existing customers you shouldnt be taking on more orders. I will be looking into Detrimental Reliance for a potential suit as this point. Almost 18 months of being patient and resilient and not even the ability to get my veteran discount. This is ethically wrong of a ComplaintsBoard.com business.

I purchased a 40' x 60' steel building from Great Western Building Systems on 7/23
I purchased a 40' x 60' steel building from Great Western Building Systems on 7/23. I was told to expect delivery in Feb. of 22. February came around and I was then told new delivery should be spring 22. *** came and went and I was then told mid summer 22. My original project manager left the company and I was assigned to another, and he told me my building was in line for production and if it didn't make it in Aug. 22, it should by Sept. 22. It is now the 1st of September and I received a call yesterday from yet another project manger to NOT expect my building before November 1st, if at all this year. I paid a sizeable deposit up front, which they claim is non-refundable and will not even consider a refund. When I paid this, I was told this deposit was to lock in the prices of the steel and other raw materials for the price I contracted to purchase the building. However, the project manager that recently called me gave me a sob story of how much steel and raw materials have gone up since I ordered my building (should not be my problem as I paid a deposit to "lock in the price" of these materials and the delay in manufacturing my building is 100% on GWB). I told the project manger that I had concrete per the design plans provided already down since Mar. 2022 (based on the previous update of a spring building delivery). I also told him I have had 2 erection contractors locked in now since then for the building that have backed out because I can't commit to a delivery date, leaving me to have to try to find one if I ever get a date I can trust. I told the project manager that I would appreciate a committed date when I will receive my building, not a date that I should NOT expect my building! I also asked him why my project could not be made a priority given the length of time that I have patiently waited for my building and he told me the only way I could get priority is to pay more for the difference in cost of the materials! No accountability by GWB at all!

#*** Initial purchase of the building on 8/31 and prior to the purchase was told that delivery was 6 months out
#*** Initial purchase of the building on 8/31 and prior to the purchase was told that delivery was 6 months out.Since that would put the delivery into the winter months,I delayed the manufacture to the Spring of 2021.All engineering was completed during this delay window.Upon executing the manufacturing process on 3/16,I was then told by the project manager that delivery would occur in Aug-Sep 2021.The manufacturing approval was signed as of 3/30 with an estimated delivery still for Aug-Sep 2021.On 5/13 the delivery date was pushed back to Sep-Oct 2021.On 8/3 the delivery date was again pushed back now to 12/3(right back to a winter delivery). This time I told GWB to keep the schedule to not delay the project further. On 8/30,the delivery date was rescinded without a new delivery date.Over multiple phone calls with the project manager,it was explained that they were bringing a manufacturing plant online and waiting on equipment. As of 10/4,the delivery date was then again pushed back to Spring of 2022.On 12/26,I was told buildings are coming off the manufacturing line and should improve and was told delivery in spring of 2022 is still accurate(both on 1/7/22 and 2/27/22).On 4/1/22, I was told that my building was still waiting on a new welder to come online in the new facility (this is 4 months after buildings were already coming out of the new facility). On 5/27/22,the delivery date was pushed again now to 8/8/22.On 6/28/22 delivery is now pushed to 8/15/22.Just two days later,I am told the delivery date has been rescinded again and new load date of the week of 9/5/22 was provided. On 7/19/22,a new load date of the week of 9/19/22 was provided. On 8/19/22,I received the request for final payment (I was told GWB policy requires payment two weeks prior to shipment-paid).On 9/1/22,a new load date of the week of 9/12/22.On 9/19/22,a new load date of the week of 9/26/22. Now 1 month after final payment and building still does not have a load date.

I purchased the building on 3/24 and prior to the purchase was told by the sales rep that delivery was a few months out maybe 6 months
I purchased the building on 3/24 and prior to the purchase was told by the sales rep that delivery was a few months out maybe 6 months. I was then told by the engineer that delivery would occur in fall 2021. When that delivery date wasn't fulfilled, I was told by *** the engineer that delivery would be January 2022. I told him that would not work because of the extreme weather conditions at the jobsite during the winter and that I was very disappointed that I was lied to about the fall delivery. I explained that I wanted an April 1st 2022delivery and he said that wouldn't be a problem. That delivery date was also a lie, and I was told in April that delivery would be about June. After much trouble getting anyone to return calls or emails, we finally got a floor production supervisor that stated that the company did not have the machinery necessary to assemble my building and they were waiting for it to arrive before they could start production. They did not have the machinery they needed to build the building they sold me over a year prior! This must be a criminal act in my opinion. Nevertheless, with much trouble and endless calls and emails I said my must deliver by date was July 13th, 2022. Sometime later I was promised a delivery date of July 15th. That date was a lie and was later promised August 27, 2022. That date was also a lie! I was told September 1-6th, 2022. I now have been told that my project has been pushed back and production will not even start until sometime in October 2022. Of course, I have absolutely no faith that this promise will be upheld or that this company is even a legit operation. The delays have cost me a years' worth of lost rents from the building not being completed, construction delays and scheduling problems. The building department has threatened to pull my permit because of lack of progress. Now best-case scenario is I will be erecting the building in winter in a location that sees -20temps and 80" of snow.

An amount of $20,903.75 was paid as a deposit to Great West Buildings on 4/23/22 with an additional amount of $2,452.80 paid on 5/12/22
An amount of $20,903.75 was paid as a deposit to Great West Buildings on 4/23/22 with an additional amount of $2,452.80 paid on 5/12/22. The original timeline given by *** before the deposit was given was we would receive stamped plans for permitting purposes in 2-3 weeks with delivery of the actual building to be late summer. I am requesting a refund of our deposit in full due to Great Western Buildings not producing any sort of services after the deposit was received. I have interacted with 2 separate project managers, *** (who suddenly ended employment at the company) and ***. From both project managers I was given false timelines and excuses as to why perviously given timelines were not being met. After an aggressive conversation with *** on 8/10/22 that ended with him cursing and hanging up on me I requested that I no longer work with *** and that we receive a full refund. That same day I received a phone call from *** (last name not given) who claimed to be *** supervisor. I repeated my request for a full refund to which he stated was not their policy. I explained the entire situation to him and he stated he would pass me on to the *** of the company, ***, as he did not have the authority to give a refund. He stated *** would contact me by the end of the week (8/12/22). I did not hear anything from *** and called *** back again the following week. He claimed *** had been out sick and would contact me by the end of the day. That did not occur and when I called *** the third time my call was ignored. On 9/15/22, over a month later, I received emails from *** to schedule a phone call for 9/16/22 at 1pm PST. After I did not receive a call I called him at the provided phone number twice, at 1:06pm PST and 3:11pm PST. Both calls were not answered. I fear any building provided by this company will be unsafe and I want the full deposit refunded. Order #

Great Western took a deposit to start production and all documents completed by December 1
Great Western took a deposit to start production and all documents completed by December 1. at that time, I was told 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. Now January 30 they have not started production and cannot tell me when they will. I was later told by my project manager that possibly looking at a delivery date around the end of May at the earliest. when I called to complain the manager that I talked to said I was # 24 and number 3 might be able to go out by the end of May if they get back to production. This delay will have caused all my contracts for construction to expire and prices to not be honored, Cause my personal business to be shut down for a unexpected amount of time do to not having a facility to operate out of, caused extra costs for storage of equipment. and all my construction permits will be expired before I even see the building delivered. When I call Great western building anonymously, they say that they guarantee delivery in 8 weeks even though they can’t deliver the building that I already put a deposit down on. They will not refund my deposit and if I keep waiting for the 6 months or year Great western building is drawing interest on my deposit why I am losing money daily because they can’t or won’t deliver a product that i have put money down on. Great western building claims a steel shortage, but other companies claim there is no shortage and they can get a building out to me with no problems. Bottom line, I put down the required deposit to get a building delivered and I have been flexible with reasonable delays but Great western building does not seem to have any intentions of delivering my building in any less than 6 to 8 months when they promised 4 to 8 weeks. This will put me well in to next winter and likely delayed more if they ever deliver it. meanwhile I am out of business and have reduced income until this building is completed. This is a major hardship on me, and my family and I likely will not have the money to pay for this building 8 months later if it is delivered. I would like this building to be delivered in a reasonable time like was promised when I paid my deposit and manufacturing release, 6 to 8 weeks from 1st Dec 2020, with an additional 8 weeks of flexibility on my part. on or before March 30th. It is only reasonable to expect delivery in reasonable time if payment has been made.

In late Oct
In late Oct. of 2020 I contacted Great Western Building systems (GWB) to price a metal building. Was connected to' A' with whom I gave rough measurement details, including specifying a 12 foot x 14 foot sliding door in the gable end. Anthony agreed to send a quote, which he did. After signing their contract to initiate the process of producing engineering drawings, a deposit of 5,075.00 USD was sent. when I received the welcome packet with dimensional drawings (no engineering specs),I noticed there was no door specified, only the rough opening. I called A and asked why, he said that the doors weren't shown because all styles (sliding, overhead) were priced the same. He stated that when I talked to the project manager, we would work out those details. When I made contact with 'T', the project manager, he stated that the doors were not included, that GWB did not manufacture nor sell sliding doors. T said an overhead door would cost about 1700.00 extra. Also stated the door opening structure would have to be reinforced, at extra cost, to hold the weight of the sliding door. At this point I had the feeling I was the victim if a classic bait-and-switch. Over a couple more conversations with T, he indicated that he might be able to convince his boss to throw in enough siding to skin a sliding door of my making, to match siding. I agreed to that If he could get it done. After that conversation, I was looking at online videos on GWB's website and came across one, dated 12, showing the assembly process for their sliding doors! I called T and asked what was going on. He had to ask someone. The answer was that those doors were built and sold only to contractors, who had asked for the videos. I'm having serious doubts. I will wait for T to verify the material adjustment.(This was Dec.28) On Feb 5, having not heard from T, I tried to call him. No answer. Same for the 12th, and a text that day also unanswered. And the 19th. On the 19th I called A, he got me in touch with J, T's supervisor, who indicated T was no longer with GWB. I told J my story, expressing my frustration with GWB as an organization, and indicated that I had had enough. J seemed to think I was being unreasonable and that the process should continue. I indicated that I would rather not risk any more money with GWB and wanted my deposit returned, based on the belief that the terms of the agreement had been changed unilaterally by GWB. After indicating that I would use the services of ComplaintsBoard.com if refused, J said that would probably trigger legal action. He also said my refusal to go forward with the project could cause me to pay a large percentage of the building cost. My conversation with J today (3/19), after I flatly refused to go any further in the first call, resulted in his calling me back to concede to giving me the door I had originally asked for, which I was told they did not make or supply, except when they did. Still refused to refund my deposit. I can only conclude GWB acted in bad faith, and would continue to do so if given the chance. .

On 9/30 and 11/25 we entered into 2 contracts for steel buildings. After MANY setbacks with project managers and engineers on 8/3 we finally received final stamped prints. Around April 2022 we were told via a phone call from someone that we were in the cue for delivery looking at early to late summer. Next contact was in July, from our project manager. We were told that new orders were taking priority and that we would have steel on the ground in October. Next its the end of August and we are contacted again saying to expect steel in November. End of October we get another call, expect steel on the ground in December. Nov 29, we were told it would be February 2023, that makes 3 years and 3 months. Now they will not answer our calls. It is clear what is happening, we had our prices locked in September, then COVID hit and steel prices went through the roof. They are not happy to give us our product and take the loss. $ 7497.9 deposit for house engineering, $7411.6 11 deposit for garage engineering, $10893.765/2021 extra deposit for *** roofs and pad engineering $25,807.36 Total deposits paid to date
In brief: On Jan 25 of this year I ordered a steel building from Great Western Buildings Systems (GWB) and agreed to a price of $60,360. I paid a requested down payment of $21,126. A delivery date of Aug, *** writing.Beginning in July 2022, I began calling as no updates were forthcoming from GWB. As August came and went I kept contacting them about delivery and was finally told delivery would be in Nov/Dec 2022 time frame..On Nov 1 I got engineering drawings in an email...which should have been delivered in March 2022. In that email I was informed that delivery would be "Summer 2023". Unacceptable given our previous delays and the agreed to initial delivery date.On Nov 9...I cancelled my order.no response On Nov 22 I cancelled my order again.Nov 30 2022 got a call from *** at Great Western ***) offering me a building in Jan 2023 as they 'had a truck coming to ***'Nothing in writing.no a delivery date. I told him no, I want the refund. On Dec 12 I got an unsigned email from GWB titled General Release and Waiver. In it, they sent me an electronic form holding themselves harmless and with language that they would simply keep my deposit, $21,126.I want a full refund as it is the contractor who has broken their contract by not delivering their product as promised; nor have they been proactive with delivery schedule through this entire process. I've been simply hung out to dry.I'm not wealthy and simply want my money returned in full.
I ordered a 30 x 40 building from Great Western Buildings and gave a $11,700 depostit on 10. Ive been passed around to several different project managers. The first ones would not return calls or emails, and when I could get in touch with them, kept pushing back delivery date of the building. The stamped drawings were released in April 2022 and in an email was told Currently, we're looking at Late Spring/Early Summer for all dedicated and consolidated freight options. . Thats late spring/early summer 2022! The dates have been pushed back several times since. At one point, the project manager put my project on hold without my knowledge. The last time I called they said May 2023. Now they are saying summer 2023. They keep kicking the can down the road and will not give a firm date. I needed this building this winter to house my working dogs, and have had to go to great troubles to find alternatives. *** asked for my deposit back so I can find a company that will deliver on their promises, but they say my deposit is non-refundable. Im exploring legal actions, but would much prefer if the company could resolve this and give me a delivery date within the next couple of months.
