I have been receiving my direct deposit on my green dot card for over two years. 04/16/18 I was asked for ID verification. I immediately complied and my card was fine until exactly one month later. Mysteriously the morning of my direct deposit and tax refund deposit, which combined totalled over $4000, my card was blocked. When I called, I was instructed to upload my ID again for verification and the block would be removed. Instead of removing the block, they cancelled my card, locked my account and left me no access to my funds. It is 06/16/18 and Greendot has had my money on hold for a month. On 06/14/18, after speaking with the corporate office, they not only requested a copy of my ID, but a copy of my entire tax return. Once again, I complied by immexiately emailing them the requested items. I gave them a call once they received everything again, and the next day, 06/15/18, they wanted me to have the IRS sign an indemnification agreement! They said it is unheard of and my bank (Greendot), is fully aware of that. I do not know what else I can do. Now corporate is only run by two men for such a large company? Well, that is the story from Cortez and Fred who seem to run that office soley. No way to get passed those two at the corporate level and between the two of them you get a different answer every time you call. Even if you spoke to them an hour ago. I am about to lose my apartment and all that I own due to this setback. It was their error to begin with and they know it. I was instructed to order a new card on line and now I am being told that card is no good although the automated system says it is fine. Please help! I really am in an extremely bad sutuation here and they seem to not care.

I called the customer service number and request to speak to a supervisor employee by the the name jen diat advise me that she would get a supervisor placed me on hold and then got back on the phone and told me a supervisor would call me back I never received that phone call not only did she like and tell me a supervisor would call me she told me no I could not speak to a supervisor. I work in customer service when a client asks to speak to a supervisor a supervisor is supposed to be contacted as soon as possible. Especially when it involves someones hard earned money you need people to get your cards we don't need you without customers you make no money correct treat customer with respect. First off my name is lafondra brown and I have stage 2 stomach cancer I used an chase atm that took my money off my card and in return I didn't receive any money. I talked and called several times to talk to a representative that told me that I have to wait til jun 27th to receive my money I cannot go 14 days without my meds or my cancer will surely go up to stage 3. On june 8th I tried to load my rush card from the 200 greendot card I gave the numbers to the repersentative that answered the phone at greendot customer service. I never received it. I have all receipts and call logs. How can I get my money back. I use moneypak at least 4 times a month and this has never happened to me now I am terrified to use this company. It was so conveinant for me to send and receive funds from family and friends. That money was sent to me because it was my twins birthday june 8th and we had nothing they were so dissapointed and it hurt me sooo bad to see them this way I havent stopped crying since. I have had a happy experience with Green Dot up until about two hours ago. I was making plans and purchases for what was going to be a long-anticipated vacation next week. I say "anticipated" because as of 1am this morning, my current Green Dot card - the one that I have been using continuously for over 18 months - seems to no longer have the "correct expiration date" according to the Customer Service representative that I just spoke with on the phone. Despite the fact that I have had multiple purchases over the internet and with other merchants every week for a year and a half using the expiration date on the card that I am holding in my hand, Green Dot wants me to believe that all of a sudden, the expiration date on my current card - which has worked perfectly up until tonight - is no longer valid and has not been valid for a year and a half - despite the numerous purchases that have been approved over that same period of time. As of this moment, the only two options that Green Card is offering to me is to issue me a replacement card - which will take approximately "three weeks" to reach me - OR- to close the account altogether in which case that check would take four weeks to reach me. I am sure that all of this is covered in their "Terms of Service". I am also sure that they have presented themselves as being competent in handling the money of millions of people around the world as well. And so I am left in the very difficult position of trying to comprehend their reason for my account being locked up - that my present card with its expiration date that I have used continuously over the last eighteen months has suddenly become "invalid" in the last twelve hours. I can not begin to imagine how this could have happened except for a data processing error in their software, memory system, or an operator error. What I can imagine very easily is that I will not be going on vacation next week with my family, that the deposits I have already put down for the trip are now gone, and that they have in essence over two thousand dollars of precious money that I have no reason to believe is going to given back to me any time soon - if ever.
I know that I am going to have to tell my family in the morning that we will not be going on vacation next week - or perhaps at all due to this incredible "explanation" that I have been provided in the last hour by two different representatives of Green Dot. And as so many have pointed out, I was told that there was no supervisor for me to talk with and that they would take my name and number and have one of them call me in the next twelve to eighteen hours. Needless to say, I am not hopeful that whoever calls - if someone calls at all - will have the authority to correct the error by Green Dot and "make me whole" again. This has been such a disappointing experience especially given the fact that I have not had a problem with this company. However, this is also the first time that I have had over $500 on the card and so far, I have resisted the temptation to extrapolate from those two facts. Any help that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am frankly pessimistic that Green Dot is going to step up and do the right thing by quickly correcting their mistake. I am trying to hang onto the hope that I will at some point this year see my money ever again.

I have been using my card about 10 times and 50% of the transactions are declined. This is quite embarrassing when there is money on card. I understand being cautious about fraud but this is getting ridiculous. I would be better off just buying a gift card. I thought I would try this out first. Now I tried to use card at grocery store for a 10-12$ purchase and it declined again. I called next day and it said card was inactive? Don't know why, but I called customer service and I just hung up after being on hold for 32 minutes. If this normal just tell me know because it's exhausting and too much trouble. One night, I had to call 5 different times before I got helped to use my card, (because of declined purchase) and I still had to wait hours to use card. Please explain problem or what to do differently because I am ready to cut up card. Thank you for listening and you might need more people answering phone if 30 minutes is normal, or too many problems to deal with since I've had to call so many times.

I just purchased my GreenDot card and put my weekly payroll check onto the card. Got a message this morning saying it is blocked! I've tried a 100 ways to try and speak to someone! Nothing! On of about 2/3 weeks ago attempted to take $400 out of my account at an atm machine. The machine did not give me the cash but Green Dot took the money out of my account. Fine. Our cardholder agreement states after 10 days green dot will replenish the funds. Not only have they not done that, but their are a bunch of explanations I'm getting that do not exist in the agreement. I have my lawyer involved now because well that's $400 of my money. People have lives and bills and family to take care of and this is not ok. If I'm wrong they can take it back but the agreement needs to be changed. It's out of my hands and will my lawyer and green dot now. But do not trust this place. I just want what is mine. That's a lot of money to hold and not give back. Very angry.

I have been loading cash on my card at Dollar General and paying my bills for months without a problem. Last wee I tried to load cash on my card and their register showed the transaction was blocked because the computer was down. When I returned the next day, I encountered the same problem so I called Green Dot customer support. The rep I spoke to logged the problem and said to expect a return phone call. I didn't get a call back as of yet and checking today resulted in the block remains to be in place so I can't add money to my card. My card doesn't expire for another year and I have an auto debit bill pay being processed in a day or two.
