Massage human contact coach
My ad on Gumtree for massage and human contact coach is removed. My services are professional and text in ad is to. I have had work come to me through gumtree. I discovered my ad was missing. Gumtree had not told me it was removed. After numerous live chats and e-mails I was given a standard issue list of things not to do. I had to guess which of the items I was being removed for. Eventually, after more persistence on my part, photos were cited as cause. My photos were professional from free to download sources demonstrating massage being done. I edited my ad and relisted it without photos. Now my ad is removed again and again without explanation. Reference to list of full terms of use has been given. Once again I am to read a long document and guess what is current specifics justification for removal. there is an obvious denial of justice in progress and no specific detail justifying my removal is provided. The brief acknowledgement of my latest enquiry says "i'm afraid at this time we will not be able to reinstate the access to your account". My further questions now are WHY?, when will access be able to be reinstated?, what do I have to do to "earn" reinstatement?
Desired outcome: explanation. rewrite Gumtree policies. reinstatement of my ad
Vehicle sale not being posted, money taken and not refunded
I posted an ad on Gumtree a couple of months back to sell my work van - Gumtree took my money and posted my ad. Unfortunately it didn't sell and so last week I went back into the same ad, clicked edit, and all i did was change (lower) the price and changed some wording as previously it stated it required a panel respraying - and since the original post I had got it resprayed so i removed that bit.
Again Gumtree took my money (£17.99) but this time my ad didn't appear. So I contacted the help desk and asked why. The first automated response via email told me that I had 'violated' their terms and would not pay me back. So I again got in touch with them and asked what I had done to violate, when all I'd done was change the price and a couple of words from the original ad which they'd accepted immediately.
I again got an automated response saying 'we are not the appropriate advertising platform for you and your business' and again went on to say that no refunds would be given. I'm just a bloke trying to sell his van - what possible harm am I doing to them?!
Gumtree refuse to tell me what I've violated (I guess because I haven't 'violated' any part of their terms & conditions) and why they wont refund my money.
If Gumtree wasn't a 'legit' business and for the fact that I tried to get info through their online chat (to no avail), then any other time/circumstance I would have assumed that this was a scam and a fraudulent business operating. and would have reported through the correct channels
I'm at a complete loss as to what i can now do here as they've closed shop & refuse to co-operate and can say anything they like it appears and do what they wish with my money!
For reference, the offending ad is for (hold your breath) a Mercedes Vito van, and the order ref number is
[protected]
As an aside, and just so they could really rub salt in, after receiving the first email telling me they were refusing to post my ad and keep my money, I then received an email from them telling me to look at 6 similar vehicles on sale in my local area and below were 6 images of other Mercedes Vito vans for sale!
Surely if a business takes your money and refuses to refund, they have to provide a legitimate reason for doing so and not try to get out of it by sending automated responses (available of required)
They didn't even tell me this at the time - after a couple of days I checked to see if my ad was live, and it wasn't, and I had to chase them for an explanation. You'd think any legit business would come to you first, give a clear explanation and then open discussion?
I look forward to hearing from you as to how this can be resolved,
Desired outcome: Either my ad being posted, my money back - either way some rationale as to why Gumtree are acting like this.
Car ad using other people names not his
He listed Nissan Maxima for sale in Geelong but his using other ppl names plz delete it it's not the owner who made this ad
Spotlight Ad
I paid £100 for a Spotlight Ad, which promised me to be featured on the homepage of Gumtree and to be seen by many people.
The ad turned out to have only a handful of views - significantly less than the £9.99 ads I had previously taken out, which I usually got at least one response from.
I got no responses at all, which is not acceptable, and I want a refund for this terrible service which is sold as being effective. I am a very small business, and simply cannot afford to spend this money for zero return.
Gumtree have ignored my complaints.
Desired outcome: Refund

Advert rendered inactive
Advert [protected] placed on 8/8/21 for the sale of a car. On looking at the site I found that the advert had been rendered inactive by Gumtree. No wonder I have received no repies. I was referred by Gumtree to the terms but as far as I can see, I have conformed fully with the terms. I have received no notification from Gumtree as to why I might be at fault, therefore I cannot make any corrections. The telephone numbers on the Gumtree site are inoperative. The live chat is not working. I sent an email which has not been replied to. I will be happy to amend my advert if I am told what the fault might be. In the meantime, I have paid for an advert which has not been published.
Desired outcome: Help to amend advert or full refund.
I've had almost the same problem, with the sale of a caravan. I received no email notification from Gumtree. When I contacted them on the website, I received a standard response saying that they had reviewed my case and that I had violated their terms and that they had the right to remove my posting. I asked for details of the violation and received the same standard response. I managed to contact the live chat, and the person said that they would escalate the issue. But still no response nearly two weeks later! I too would be happy to amend my advert if I knew what the fault was. I told them this, but I guess that nobody is reading the complaints! What to do?
Adverts
I have to say, I do not like the fact that adverts cover the bottom part of photographs in the items for sale. I DO realise that adverts are important and I am not advocating that they stop advertising, but it should be quite easy to make the advert display BELOW the picture instead of on top of it, I don't care if the image is slightly smaller, as long as 100% of it is visible. There is often some critical information about the item, shown in this area of the photo, but it is impossible to see it because the advert covers that area.
Desired outcome: Display adverts BELOW pictures, not on top of them
Somebody who showed interest in my vehicle for sale
Hello,
I placed an ad on Gumtree in hopes of selling my car. I was contacted by [protected] and email address [protected]@gmail.com showing interest in my vehicle. Explained how she was disabled and wanted to buy it for her son, couldn't collect, would send courier, could only pay via PayPal. Asked for my email address, address and name, which I provided. It wasn't until I did some research as I thought it was too good to be true and found evidence that she has done this before. I've found that she's used this email address [protected]@gmail.com in April, so can something please be done about this as she's caused me severe distress.
Charlotte Wall
Desired outcome: Barr her from Gumtree
Unfair service
I recently joined Gumtree, and attempted to place 2 ads on the website, only to have both of them removed for apparently breaching their "posting rules" in some way.
An email was sent to me, but it did not give any information about what rule I was breaking, or how to resolve the problem.
When I attempted to have a live chat about this, 'Noah' just said I had broken the rules, and then terminated the chat.
I tried again, this time I spoke to 'Tristan', who said he would look into the issue and email me.
I received an email, but about the wrong item.
So I tried again, but got 'Noah' again, who terminated the chat, and sent an email basically barring me from the website.
Tried one more time, this time 'Lola'. Same outcome.
So there is no explanation what I have done wrong, I have read all the rules and can't see the problem. Plenty of other ads for similair items.
Gumtree chat is useless, and there seems to be no appeal process.
I am not a user of social media, if I were I would warn others not to use Gumtree.
Desired outcome: An apology and explaination from Gumtree.
Ad being deleted on false accusations
My ad has been deleted on false accusations by Gumtree. I have sent an email 8 days ago explaining the situation, and they have not got back to me, and when I try using the Gumtree live chat nobody gets back to me. I waited on the live chat from 10am to 8pm for two days in a row, and didn't have one single answer!
I am a young woman trying to sell my cats kittens, to which Gumtree is telling me I am using multiple accounts, with no proof or help in the situation! I have several other people in the same situation of being falsely accused with no proof, and Gumtree is doing nothing?! Gumtree says they are equal to everybody. As a young woman trying to use their online platform, and having such problems, I can't say I agree.
I respect the Gumtree rules, by only posting 2 ads a year, but I have only posted 1 advert this year and that has been removed, so far I have had no help in this matter and been falsely accused. I hope Gumtree will fix their communication skills, and fix this matter for myself and many others.
I don't know what information Gumtree wants, but if they won't even talk to me, or contact me to see I am an individual with my own account, not several. Then I wouldn't call they're proof "reliable".
I would appreciate speaking to somebody who will be able to help me, and see that this situation with an "All Welcoming" online platform not allowing me to post my own, and personal ad is ridiculous!
Desired outcome: I want to be allowed to post my 2 kitten ads a year.
Pets for sale
Hi,
I posted an ad a week ago to sell a kitten of my own, and my ad has been removed straight away with no explanation and no refund.
I tried for days to get some information but only had robotic answers that I breached the rules, with no more explanation of what rules I was not following. Also I was informed I couldn't get a refund as I didn't comply to the Gumtree policy, but at that still didn't know what was my "supposed" mistake !
It took 5 days of patience to finally have a human answer through the live chat (by the way it's not really a chat, because you cannot "chat" with anyone, you are sent an automatic answer and disconnected straight away), and I was vaguely told that I've already posted 2 ads for pets in the last 12 months with another account, which is completely wrong and I wonder where they got that from ?
I offered to send my ID to prove that I'm a legal individual person, or talk on the phone or on video to someone to show I am not usurping anybody identity, but no answer and no possibility to talk to anyone.
I have the right, like any other person to sell kittens and if they don't accept my application with no reasonable reason and evidence that I did wrong, then it's called slander and it is illegal ! And on top of that they are stealing my money.
Nobody to talk to, no investigation from their side, I want my rights back and sell my kitten before I have to drop him in a shelter instead of him having a loving family. As a woman, I feel discriminated and isolated.
Desired outcome: I want my advert to be reposted and have the right to sell pets twice a year
selling puppies
so I've never seen worse people and help us like the people at Gumtree. I'll start like this. I made a post to sell the puppies and I paid somewhere at almost £20. The ad was entered into checks and was approved. after a few hours was deleted because it violates the rules that said I'm not allowed to write dog worker. and I looked over the other ads of people and they were all the same dog worker without any problem. for themand I looked over the other ads of people and they were all the same dog worker without any problem for them. they deleted my ad and told me they can't give me money back [protected]@yahoo.com. Then I talked to my mother-in-law to post for me to help me they didn't even approve my ad and they took my money I didn't do anything wrong they saw that I don't speak English properly they started abusing me and shutting down my live chat. OK I started freaking out I said what I'm doing with the puppies I'm going to give to the email is [protected]@yahoo.com. then I spoke to my brother-in-law and he told me that he was helping me I paid £27 and they instantly deleted the ad with the puppies and they started talking again to the fun and that they didn't give me my money. Such a thing is not possible I did not hurt nobody Such a thing is not possible I did not hurt nanui I did not break the rules I do not separate normal to beable so I have never seen people so racist. I sold puppies last year on Gumtree and I didn't fool anyone. email of the brother-in-law [protected]@yahoo.com. I paid a lot of money and I didn't enjoy the services of gumtree. My email is [protected]@yahoo.com. Thank you so much
Paying Gumtree for add that did not work
I am having trouble posting advertisements on Gumtree to sell birds since the new system for paying to advertise birds for sale. 10/5/21 I set up the advertisement and then it asks to pay. After the payment details are entered, the advertisement could not be posted. It just sits there. When I check my bank account the following day the payment sum was still pending. I deleted the pending advertisement and the money ($1.49) was payed to Gumtree and the add was not posted because I deleted.
I also noticed that there is a lot less birds for sale on Gumtree. In fact there is no birds for sale in my area where as before there used to be plenty. I would suggest that maybe other people, like me will opt to used facebook to sell birds in the future.
Desired outcome: Fix the problem so when you click on "Post Add" it works
My advert is being removed
This is my first time advertising on Gumtree and my first and only account my money has been taken and my advert removed my daughter tried to post for me on her account and was told she was unable to so I have made my own account and still unable it is unacceptable that you see fit to take payment and then remove the advert surely I am a 67 year old lady and making a account was very difficult for me and for my advert to be removed really unhappy with your service
Desired outcome: Would just like to post my advert

My Ads [ ref:_00D206AK6._5004JMcMj4:ref ]
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
The Gumtree system has picked up a prior account - one linked to a Protonmail domain - and therefore may remove ads automatically, as the use of multiple accounts is generally prohibited. Please confirm which account you would like to use going forward.

(My reply to the incoherent explanation for the removal of my Ad posting)
Re: My Ads [ ref:_00D206AK6._5004JMcMj4:ref ]
The last ad I posted on a protonmail account ([protected]@protonmail.com) is about a month ago on an unrelated item and I have no active ads there. How come out of the blue this is what is bound to obstruct my gumtree postings on my [protected]@gmail.com account?
The only account I am using for postings is [protected]@gmail.com which I have done for two different items within the last month, and I only make one ad post at a time. So I can understand why one account ad post will be considered multiple account ad posts?
How come it is the case that it is this new item that elicits any issue with my supposing postings on a protonmail account (which I repeat has no active postings with the last posting of an item a month ago)?
Again I can only contest the consistency of your obstrusive decisions and wasting of my precious time with regards to the possible sale of the item by now. I can only request for your quick restoring of my relevant and latest ad post on the [protected]@gmail.com account.

(My second reply 5 hours later to the incoherent explanation for the removal of my Ad posting)
Hi, is this a cynical insidious intervention or what? Why is my ad post (https://www.gumtree.com/p/laptops/good-bargain-for-7th-genddr4-laptop/1397499299) still removed?
Or should I think this is someone's deliberate and incoherent excuse to undermine my postings supposedly concealed as pursuit of gumtree corporate/bureaucratic posting rules?
Please, I implore you to take stuck of your public facing role (which you deliberately choose when you setup) and stop all such uncivil and incoherent targeted arbitrariness.
Removing my genuine ads
Gumtree has taken out numerous amounts for Ad that they have not listed on their site, when questioned they advised me that my account was restricted and that I violated laws, they gave no explanation even though I have sold the same product before and it was just simple AD selling a console with receipt, they started off well, I cannot complain because they block you and hang up on you when mentioned why am I banned, had an email as a reply not to use their Website again, like many people where Ive read the reviews looks like they pick and choose who to ban on a rainy day, I have my refunds back and I will not use their services again. I need answers and my monies back ASAP.
One of my AD ID's removed is: [protected]
thanks
Selling of stolen dogs on Gumtree
Can I ask if you follow any sort of rules and restrictions, are governed by any? Stolen dogs being advertised on Gumtree daily now.
Can you please explain exactly what as a company you do to check that you are not involved in the selling of stolen property? There must be some guidelines that you adhere to and that you check what is being sold on your site?
During this pandemic, dog theft has increased tremendously. Certain individuals are stealing dogs, removing ID chips
then re selling on your sites, please be aware. I would hope that Gumtree is not turning a blind eye to illegal activities?!
Thank you
Desired outcome: Explaination and action to stop selling stolen animals please
Gumtree are scum.
This Yorkshire is the mum of countless puppies they've sold for years. They had her locked in a tiny cage. She's never been out for a walk. She's spent her whole life giving birth.
Look at the state she's in.
Look at her hair, nails and especially her mouth. The exploitation that has suffered has marked her for life. Gumtree are directly responsible for this.
