I have had the Gutter Helmet for over a couple years now and I was satisfied with the installment and the look, but not so sure I am satisfied with the product itself. My gutters still get clogged to the point where it is like a waterfall over my main entrance.
When I called to see what I could do, they sent a service technician to the house that I believe I had to pay for the first time. I was thankful that the technician let me know that because I purchased the gutter helmet I get 2 free maintenance appointments a year and he told me the best times to call with the trees that I have.
I haven't had an issue up to this point, but I called today, 11/13/23, and they told me that now it will be $60 to do that. They tried to explain to me that the appointment is free but I'm being charged the fee to help maintain the technician staff with increasing costs. When I explained to the rep that I have always gotten 2 appointments a year, and I don't recall receiving any sort of email notification that this was changing, she stated that most people don't call to have these types of appointments. I explained that the reason I am calling is because the gutter helmet isn't fully working and I still have leaves getting in that and clogging it.
She didn't offer a solution and the call ended. When they come it is usually a very quick appointment may 15 min and with the cost it took to install the gutters, I think it is ridiculous I have to pay $60 to have them cleaned. Very disappointed.
Desired outcome: I would like my gutters cleaned without having to pay a fee. I was never notified of the increase or change in the maintenance policy.
I'm having the same problem where gutter helmet wants to charge to come out and clean back up/clogs. What can be done. Is there a class action lawsuit for breach of contract working?
