Took my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 lt. In the service dept this morning for a factory recall part Brake booster. Richard was the service advisor. I waited all day and never received a phone call to tell me it was ready. So I called him at app 300pm. I asked how my truck was coming along . He said he was waiting for my authorization to do the repair,I asked Richard why he didn't call me ? He told me the tech was gonna call but he got busy. Richard told me they didn't do the work cause they had to remove 2 skid plates and needed my approval and it was gonna cost 200.00 to remove 2 skid plates. I waited all day for a phone call . I was a little bothered when he told me that. Well I didn't have The 200.00 at that time. So I picked up my truck with nothing done to it.Richard told me that I could take them off and bring it back and then I wouldn't have to pay 200.00. So,who's gonna pay for my time and gas . I live 50 miles out of town, so shouldn't I receive comp for 200 miles put on my vehicle? Its app $80 per day for 2 days. Richard dropped the ball by the lack of communication. It his job to contact me not the service tech doing the work. Theres app 12 bolts to remove the skid plate to do the work. BFD it's has to be removed to work on the recall item. Nobody told me that when I dropped it off it would be 200 to do the work. I'm very dissatisfied with Richards lack of communications to me. He should pay my gas bill.
Claimed loss: Gas 80.00 + 2 days 200 miles total.
Desired outcome: Pay at least 80 dollars for driving out a second time.
