They have a lot of unhappy customers out there
Bought a speaker box and paid with payapl instantly. Tried to cancel the order 2 hours later because I picked the wrong one. They said it had already been shipped and I'm stuck with it now. Yeah right! Ten days have now went by still nothing no box no tracking number no refund. I am going to report them to the internet crime complaint center. I should have looked up their company profile on the internet before buying from them. They have alot of unhappy customers out there. Stay away from hi fi sound connection.
Did not refund money
I will never order from them again! i ordered what i thought was a brand new radio with CD player for my car. when i received the item, it was a refurbished radio with a cd player that didn't work. i almost returned it because i was not aware it was refurbished. then when i installed it in my car, i noticed the CD player didn't work so i began the long, arduous process of returning the thing to hi fi sound connection.
i filled out their form completely and stated that i wanted to return it for a refund (because i had found a NEW one somewhere else) they gave me the run around for 6 weeks! i went back and forth with them through email because customer service does not do phone calls you have to write to them. their return policy clearly states that i have the right to return the item. they received the item back, but never refunded my money. i finally had to get the bank invovled and i got my money back through my bank 6 weeks after purchasing this product.
DON'T ORDER FROM THEM! LET'S PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS BECAUSE THEY CLEARLY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE MAKING MONEY OFF OF US
Will not fix their mistake
I placed several orders with them (all in the same week). One of the items I orderd was a Kicker DC12 loaded sub cabinet. The one I orderd was with dual 12 inch kicker comp woofers with a total load of 2 ohms. I was billed for the correct one but was shipped a 4 ohm set up. The tried to convice me it was a 2 ohm cabinet. I sent them a picture of my ohm meter reading 4 ohms and a pic of the part number on the box showing it was a 4 ohm cabinet. They told me it is a 2 ohm set up and the will just give me a rufund minus shipping and restock charges. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS

I too have just purchased several items from this company. I did not recieve an item I ordered and have tried to cancel the order for this item. Instead they are trying to ship me a smiliar item that i didn't even order and don't want. WTF? I am also trying to return an item (within the 14 day period allotted) and they are not giving my a return authorization #. Without this number they will not accept delivery of the item! This is the worst company i have ever in my life delt with. I am resolved to disputing the charges with my credit card company for the item not recieved since this company is ignoring my request to cancel this order and refund my money.

On Aug.24 th 2009 I purchased 2 car receivers, 6 6"x9" speaker boxes and 8 speakers from HIFISoundconnection.com . This company sold me a Dual MP3/CD head unit almost four months ago, 3 weeks after, I had to contact them only to find the item I ordered was out of stock after 2 more tries at out of stock items we agreed on 1 that was in stock, 3 weeks later it arrives in an unsealed box and did not work. I contacted them and recieved an RMA#, paid for return shipping and again I waited. After almost 3 weeks of silence I finally contacted them to find the status and was told they would not refund me because the amount of time that had gone by ( what a shocker, right?), so I agreed to an exchange for speakers. Almost 3 weeks later I had to contact them again and was told they had to check them in before they could send them to me. Since then I have sent countless e-mails and made countless phone calls and have gotten no response. I have asked to speak with the CEO Mr. Chris Rush and have been ignored. I have contacted the better business bureau and I am considering contacting the Nixa, Mo Police Dept because hell, they stole my money. BUYER BEWARE! These guys are CROOKS. Forget whatever else you read these guys CAN and WILL RIP YOU OFF.

The character of any company is demonstrated in how they handle complaints. These guys have severe problems with this. They do have great prices on the items they carry in stock, but they offer items on their site they cannot seem to get. I had selected some of those items. In my case they would not get me specific information on my back ordered items. 4 Written requests for refund were ignored. Several requests for a manager to call me were ignored. Fully 2 months after i placed my order, exchanged 54 emails and placed more than 75 calls i finally put a scathing review online. I was called later that day. I asked the reason it had to get to this level before someone called. they could not give a good answer. they processed a refund, although it will take a few days to show at my bank. These guys have severe issues with dealing with problems. you may be alright if they have the item in stock.

These guys are horrible bait and switch con artists. I placed my order in good faith from items advertised on their site. after a couple weeks i emailed a request for the status of my order. they replied with a standard form response saying the items were out of stock and usually return to stock within 2 weeks. I waited another week or so and asked about the SPECIFIC status of my order and received the same generic out of stock reply. I have made several calls to them and rarely got a live person who could not give me any information. there have been days i made up to 25 calls within an hour only to get their "all reps are busy, please leave a message" prompt.
They did tell me I could select another item that was in stock and they would offer free freight for the inconvenience. they suggested i check out the Kicker brand. I did but did not find any items close to the specs of the original alpine amp and boston accoustic sub that i had ordered. they showed jl labs enclosed subs and i selected 2 as alternates - neither of which they had in stock.
in each and every email and message left i have asked to have a manager or owner call me so we can resolve this.
I have left many messages and none have been returned. i have tried to pressure them with promises to contact the authorities but to no avail. I have requested they cancel my order and refund my money - over $800 balance (they partial shipped my $915 order) in 4 separate emails (per their policy) but received no confirmation. after the last cancellation request they told me they were processing drop ships "today". I have twice now requested what items are being drop shipped and when i can expect them but gotten no response.
I noticed at least one other complaint on this site that these guys blocked the complainers phone. Darren from hifi soundconnection replied, "we do not block numbers." this is an absolute lie. my cell phone number goes to a message that has said "the mailbox is full" for 3 days now. amazingly, dialing from my home phone and another phone immediately after i get this message using my cell phone goes into their normal prompts although a live person does not answer and i am directed to leave a message.
These guys are horrible con artists stealing money. do not buy anything from them. if you have contact your local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
for darren (since you seem to be answering the complaints here) - this is the first of many scathing reviews you are about to get from me. additionally, by the end of today i will have contacted state and local authorities alleging you committed an illegal act of conversion of my money and deceptive business practices. since this is across state lines it falls into federal jurisdiction. i suggest you resolve this now.
UPDATE: I just received an email noting items they propose to substitute. i am waiting on clarification of these items since they are not what i ordered.

Do not buy from these guys - they bill your credit card upon placement of the order and never ship the items. I ordered an item from them, paid extra for three day shipping and never received the item. After about a week, I called to cancel the order and was told to email my request, which I did. A month has now gone by with no response from them. I have made several attempts to contact ANYONE and keep getting their "please leave a message" recording and NO ONE returns my calls. I also tried their live chat option which they reccomend and was told, quite rudely I might add, that live chat was for techinical support calls only. I have made as many as 10 calls per day and have NEVER spoken with a live person! Save yourself the grief I'm experiencing and place your order with a reputable company.
This company is a FRAUD and has no idea how to treat customers. I have been trying to email and call them and they wont return any. So i called today and finally got ahold of someone, i gave her my invoice number and before i could ask for a manager she told me to back off and hung up on me, when i tried to call back i found that she blocked my call. So i called with my house phone, she did the same thing, and blocked my home phone. They owe me 500 dollars and i cant get ahold of them to get my money, and they wont ship me the product i paid for! this is crazy, i dont know how this company is still open!
I ordered an electronic part from this on-line retailer, which was listed as free shipping. When the transaction posted I was charged $10 to ship a $14.95 item. They promised a refund, but it was never provided. Now they will not ship the item and will not refund my money. I had to file a case with Paypal and wait for the resolution.
Oh yeah definite rip off artists. I ordered a box for 2 12's and i receive an email saying the product was damaged and they don't feel right sending it out and i could wait for one to get in stock or take a refund so i opted for the refund and received a letter saying ok its being processed so i order another one off of amazon well not but a day or so i receive an email saying they shipped my order so i call and explain the situation and they told me it was already shipped and i could send it back well kept getting the runaround cause they didn't wanna take it back. I am posting everything on facebook. twitter, google + and everywhere else i can and i asked my friends to repost and i ask y'all to repost if you would and post everything you have on social sites. word of mouth is either the best or worst way to make or break a company. - The sell things they do not have in stock as if they have them
- The agree to a refund after you have waited weeks for your "in
stock" order, then they never refund your card and ship you items you
have already purchased elsewhere. In my case the supposed refunded
part of my order showed up 30 days after I ordered it and 13 days
after I canceled it.
- They sell "loaded" speaker boxes, that are actually a just a box and
retail speakers. In my case the speakers did not fit in the box
without an air gap as the holes were the wrong size.
- I used the F*** word in an email to them, not directed towards them
personally, but at the speaker boxes with the wrong size hole. And
they had the nerve to mail back that they will not work me because of
the offensive language. I believe this business is in New York, what a
pathetic excuse.
Also, the last review of these guys I did on this site, they actually
demanded I give them a good review to fix the problems with the last
order (missing parts). I am sorry that I did that for my own selfish
reasons (to get my issue fixed).
I can't believe I was stupid enough to try them again, apparantly they
try and rip you off every time, at least I am 2 for 2.

This company has terrible customer service. I purchased the product and it didn't work. Thy suggested calling the manufacturers customer service which I did. They were great, asked me to try a couple of things and that if that didn't work the product was defective and to return it to the store from which it was purchase. HiFi said they would accept the return but that I had to pay for the shipping. I dissagred with them and sited their return policy which states they will pay for warranty returns. They tried to say a return meant the return to me, which is just a complete farse. I sited it again and told them if they didn't want to follow their policy I would not give them good feed back. I even stated I didn't want a return I just wanted a new item that worked. I still tried to give them the sale. I got the following e-mail back.

10/15/09 - I have gone through almost the exact same scenario with this company now. Heck, it could have almsot been me that wrote this review. From working with Darren, to being told they were out of stock, to suggesting "Kicker" over the obvious quality components I intially ordered. NOONE answers the phone and the Online assistance is never... ONLINE.
I've turned my case over to Paypal for resolution now after roughly 1 month of going in circles.

I order an aplifier from HIFI Sound Connect on Sept, 10 2008, it is now the 30th and I have called them and acctually spoken to them at least twice a week! So today after no being able to reach them yesterday, i called them up again. THe first call was from my cell phone and I talked to a guy in shipper for about 30 seconds and asked him when my order would ship, he hung up and my phone calls would not go through (message said mail box was full", so i switch to my home phone (im a tricky one aren't I!) and called them back. Got a lady on the phone asked her aobut my order and she said it was "on back order from the Manufacture", So i asked for a refund and she offered me another product (one that would over power my speaker and blow them, they are not very knowledgeable of the products they sell!). I said no and ask for a refund and she hung up, Now the home phone wouldn't go through! (wahhooo! Who to borrow a phone from?) So, i got a phone from a roommate and called them up, got aother lady, and asked her flat out for a refund, she offered me another product and i refused and she hung up, now all my phone options at the time a gone... So, I decided lets report them to the BBB and call my bank! I did so and went through that rigamrole and now its a waiting game, also sent them an email that did this! I too have had trouble with this company. I ordered a box for my daughters speaker and they sent us not the one we ordered but a cheaper one and yes I got charged for the more expensive one. I have tried numerous times to contact themvia phone and they never answer so then I tried the email. I got them to respond to the email but all they wanted to know was would the box they sent would work and when I emailed back that it would not they didn't respond any more and I spent a month and a half trying to get them to just send me a return label so I could send the box back. I even reported them to the BBB and guess what, they did not respond to the BBB either so now I am not sure what to do other than let people know what a terrible company they are and hopefully others will not have to go thru all the mess I have.
Refusing a Refund
WARNING! Do not order from this company. We ordered a Clarion video monitor to for our vehicle that had to match the other existing one. We specifically and clearly identified that the monitor could NOT BE SUBSTITUTED in the customer notes section, in fact our online account clearly shows this. Someone wrote “Substitute” ¾ of an inch above the “Do not Substitute” note, unbelievable. We received the wrong component, surprise – surprise that would not mount correctly and the wiring connectors were completely different. Seems like a simple mistake that any reputable company should be able to correct. That is where things go sideways. We have sent over 10 different e-mails and have left a phone message, provided them with each and everything they requested and now can’t even get them to contact us. We have had to pay freight 2 ways and a 60.00 duty and they have the monitor. They initially indicated that they did not receive the item. Amazingly when we provided a shipping document for which they signed for, it suddenly appeared. They then said that this order was too old to provide a refund. This whole thing had become old because of their incompetence and their never intending to send a refund. Their last communication was an offer to provide a store credit, we don’t want a store credit, we just want back the money we spent for an item we did not order. We are appalled that a company that provides this service can even be allowed to be in business. Any of the reviews that indicate a satisfied customer are ones who happened to receive the correct item in the first place. If you receive the wrong item or it is damaged, you are screwed! They have no intention of correcting the mistake. The biggest joke is that the monitor that we wanted and they do not have is still shown on their website. You have to know that someone else will make the same request and be shipped a substitute that will not work and have to go through the same crap. Once again……DO NOT DEAL WITH HIFI SOUNDCONNECTION, they are online crooks. We will be looking at other ways of getting this story out to the public.

On January 24, 2009, I placed an order with Hifsoundconnection (Audio Enhancers KPL12D Unloaded Ported Sub Box Dual Kicker L7, L5, Cost=$90.00) for a total cost of $133.47 plus shipping. After waiting several days for the merchandise to arrive, I finally received the merchandise (enclosure) on 1-29-09 @ 11:07 am per ups website. Initially my wife received the merchandise from the carrier and later that afternoon following work I opened the shipper and notice that the incorrect enclosure was sent. The enclosure that I received was the Custom Dual 12" L5 L7 Ported Sub Box (Cost= $84.95), however the enclosure that I ordered was the Audio Enhancers KPL12D Unloaded Ported Sub Box Dual Kicker L7, L5. On Friday January 30, 2009 I sent an email to hifisoundconnection at: [protected]@hifisoundconnection.com about receiving the incorrect enclosure. After waiting (24 to 48 hours according to hifisoundsconnection posted turn-around time) I didn't receive a response back after that time frame. A second email to [protected]@hifisoudnconneciton.com was sent, I got a response apologizing for the mixed up in the shipping department and hifisound offered a partial refund or the correct enclosure to be sent instead. Now, a third email was sent to [protected]@hifisound that I would like to have the correct enclosure sent versus the partial refund b-c I purchased the enclosure due to the amount of air space in the enclosure matches to maximum cubic feet of the subwoofers going into the enclosure. Next, I did receive response back stating that they would honor my wishes and send the correct enclosure. After several days (3 days) went by I didn't receive a tracking # or any notification of shippment. Now, I've been calling them almost everyday in addition to sending emails to hifisoundconnection about the shippment of the new enclosure. While talking with customer service they keeping sending me to a person named "Tony", whom they don't explain his position in the company nor how he would be able to help me. I keep getting Tony's voice mail but he never returns my calls. So, at this point I'm SOL. All I want is the correct merchandise that I bought and paid for...or my money back on the different of the two enclosures plus any shipping cost differences. I tried to maintain the rapport w- this company in addition to the fact; I've haven't had a problem with hifisoundconnection until now! Its shocking that the first and only problem that I have with this company...look at whats happening. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. My invoice# is 6067664.

On Dec. 12th, 2008 I purchased 2 subwoofers, a subwoofer box, and a car c/d stereo deck as Christmas gifts for my son. I paid for the items thru paypal. A few days later all of the items arrived except the car stereo deck. I called Hi fi sound connections customer service and they told me that the car deck was out of stock and they would ship it as soon as they got more in. On Dec 23rd I called back and spoke with customer service again, they stated the car decks were still out of stock. As this item was a Christmas gift and I now knew that it would now not be shipped in time fo Christmas, I cancelled the order for the car deck. The service rep told me that the purchase price of the deck and shipping charges($150.00) would be refunded thru my paypal account and the funds would be in there before Christmas. AS of 1/09/09 I still do not have the refund money back in my paypal account, I have called Hi Fi sound conection customer service at least 10 times, twice I have been hung up on by guys named Darren and Ben, I have left multiple voicemails with there billing dept and 3 e-mails to there sales dept requesting for my money to be refunded, no one has called me or notified me in any way about my refund. They have blocked both my house and cell phone, so I am not able toget thru to them unless I use a different phone.This company has terrible customer service and will lie to you to keep any money that has come there way. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY, thy should be investigated for fraud and lieing to customers who use there hard earned money to buy from them.

Bad service
HIFISOUNDCONNECTION.com is the biggest ripoff online store out there. I purchased a pair of $250 speakers online and then called to verify stock the next day. I was told they would actually send me the latest model (since I guess the model i ordered was going out of production) and it was to be shipped the same day. After several calls, the item did end up being shipping 5 days after my first phone conversation. When the item arrived, it was not even close to the same model. It was a model from maybe 3 years ago and the box looks like it was from 10. Obviously the model # was not the one promised, but was also 2 model lines below! They basically send me a pair of old, beat up speakers worth $100 maybe. After several calls and emails, they agreed to have the speakers picked up, however, 3 days after the package (left outside my door for pickup) was supposed to be picked up, HIFISOUNDCONNECTION stopped returning my emails and my phone messages. I had finally received a follow up email stating that since I was "causing problems" they would "leave the order the way it was". I have left messages for the owner, Chris Rush, to no avail. Avoid this 'company' at all costs. Biggest bunch of liars, cheats, and thieves you will ever come across! BEWARE!

Unacceptable Customer Service / Business Practices
On June 25, 2008 I ordered 3 Boston Acoustics 8" sub woofers. And on June 25th, my credit card was charged and I received my invoices via email...so far so good...
Fast forward to July 20th - still no product, and worse yet, no communication from the company. So, I called and after about 45 minutes on hold, I finally spoke with Tony who told me the subs had been back ordered and they would be shipping on the 25th or 28th. I said, OK, I will wait.
I waited until July 31st when the stereo build was almost completed and called again to cancel the order. I spoke to a "Customer Service" rep and they transferred me to a voice mailbox that was full, so I was disconnected. I tried to call back but received a message stating "the mail box is full" and was disconnected - AHA! They blocked my phone number! Ok, so the email starts...
July 31st - request my refund via email and get a polite response from Tony that what I ordered was on back order and if I see something else, they will ship it, otherwise, they will issue a refund. I respond that I no longer need the product, so please issue the refund. Tony responds back that the refund process will be started.
August 1st - I email and ask for a status - no response
August 5th - I email and ask for a status - no response
August 8th - I email and ask for a status - no response
August 12th - I email and ask for a status - no response
August 12th - I dispute the charge with my credit card company and send this information to HiFi Sound Connection and receive an email that the product is coming now in and will ship on Monday the 18th. I reply that I want a refund - not the product.

August 19th - I email and ask for a status - no response
August 21st - I email and ask for a status - no response
August 25th - I email and ask for a status - no response
August 26th - I received the chargeback from my credit card company so I emailed them to let them know that I would no longer be doing business with them and no further action was necessary on their part.
And, this entire time my office number has been blocked - but as I found out today, my cell phone has not been blocked.
This is a company that SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS! They do NOT know how to work with their customers and they practice fraudulent activities. I was charged for merchandise that I NEVER received and they NEVER had it in stock. And, I was told it was on BACKORDER from Boston Acoustics, yet I was able to go to a local retailer (who matched HiFi's price) and pick it up and take it home with me. So, they also LIE to their customers. And, I waited 45 days before filling a dispute - more than enough patience on my end I would think. In total, HiFi Sound Connections had my money tied up for 61 days... UNACCEPTABLE!
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! For everyone who has had "good" dealings with these people, you are lucky... They will NEVER get any of my money again and I will make sure that all my friends know not to do business with this deceitful organization.

I am going through the exact thing on American DJ Crank Stands. It wasn't worth saving $10 to deal with a 2 month delay and all of this. I have been told 3 different stories about why they haven't shipped yet by 2 different representatives. Oh, I got the $5 off coupon too, lucky me.
