I been usin' Home-Tech's services for like 20 years now. Gotta say, I'm always blown away by how professional they are and how fast they get things done. When I need 'em, I know they'll show up quick and most times they even got the parts right there in their truck! And even if they gotta order 'em, the wait ain't too long. Yeah, the contract's a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it.

He checked the A/C unit and explained what was wrong with it. He was polite, positive, and very good at explaining the problem to me. I bought a new washer and warranty from Home-Tech. They've been to our house at least six times for repairs. I asked them to replace the washer, but their temporary fixes only last for a short time, sometimes less than a day. Many of the experienced employees have left, and they're having trouble finding skilled technicians.

We bought a house with a warranty. We had problems with some things. We called them for help. They didn't keep their promise. They are a dishonest company. We called them while the warranty was still valid. They sent a technician over. The technician had to leave and never came back. The same technician quit, so we contacted the manager. The manager said someone else would come. But during this whole process, the warranty expired. They won't honor it unless we pay to renew it, even though we called when the warranty was still active and even after it ended. The manager accused us of lying and being dishonest. They are very corrupt. They took our money and then tried to make us renew the warranty.

John came on Fathers day and was at my home for about 10 minutes telling me my condenser was out. He said he would contact the home warranty with his evaluation. As of Friday, June 26th, I hadn't heard from anyone. Today, June 30th, the home warranty people said John responded and told them the air conditioner had Open Winding and it ain't gonna be covered. I asked for the report from John and was told he didn't provide anything to them. He just verbally told them what was wrong with my unit when he never returned to my home.

Our hot water heater pilot went out 3 days ago. It happened 2 days in a row, so we called Home Tech. We were told the tech would arrive between noon and 4 PM. After several phone calls between 4 PM and 6 PM stating the tech was running late/was lost, the tech arrived at 6:45. He looked at our hot water heater, told us he did not have the parts on the truck, and the cost would be $139 for the service visit. The parts would take 2 weeks to order. Because he was late, he said he would only charge us $99. Nothing was done to the hot water heater, and the pilot is still going out. A woman from the company called yesterday to see how it went, and we explained the situation to her. She apologized, did not offer any resolution, and said to call back if we needed them for anything else. Today I checked my credit card statement, and we were billed $199 for the visit! Definitely would not recommend this company. Disputing the entire charge.

Today, I called for service because the freezer isn't freezing food anymore, but they won't come. The lady on the phone was really rude when I told her my food was spoiling. With COVID-19 going on, it's important to deal with this quickly. I'm a single mom with 2 kids, so having a working freezer is crucial. The contract I bought says there's no service fee, but this morning they said there would be one. How is that possible if I bought the contract without any fees?

He couldn't finish the job 'cause he needed a new blower motor. He told me they'd order it and someone would get in touch on Monday, May 11th. We called Monday and they said the part was on order. They knew I just got home from the hospital after open heart surgery, so they rushed the order. While at the hospital, my wife got a call from the boss, Charlie, who said they'd charge me $459 for labor. She explained the contract covered 100% of labor charges. He said they didn't consider how long it would take based on the system design when they priced the contract. But this is the 3rd year they've serviced the system. We disputed the charge on our credit card.

They sent a service technician to my house on two separate times. They changed a part and put in more refrigerant. On 8/14, I called about the same clunking issue. The service technician found that there was too much refrigerant and took out 2.5 pounds from the system. They charged me $235 for this. I left a message on Jake's voicemail, who I was transferred to when I wanted to talk to a supervisor about this repair. He didn't call me back, so on 8/18, I called again and spoke with Pat. She said that Jake wasn't available, but she would email him to remind him that I called. Until today, 8/25, I still haven't gotten a call. The reason I want to talk to a supervisor is that even though my one year labor warranty is over, this repair was needed because their technician added too much refrigerant.

Bad bussiness / billing practice. I have a Whirpool dishwasher (Model WDF520PADM5). The heating element (Part # WXXXXXXXX) on this dishwasher broke. I know how to replace it, but unfortunately its very hard to get parts now...waiting time on this particular part is over a month. I called Home-Tech in Lakewood Ranch, FL and told them I need the heating element replaced. Lady on the phone (Peggy) said it will be $99 to come out + parts & labor and she said someone will be here between 10 am and 12 noon. Technician arrived at 10 am and as soon as he opened the dishwasher he said it needs a new heating element, and wait time is about 10 days! and he writes me an invoice for $99 for coming out to my house and telling me what I already knew (They wanted another $325 to come back and replace a part that cost $79 at Whirlpool site & $35 on Amazon). I was very specific on my call explaining what I needed replaced. Why would they send out a technician and charge $99 if they did not have the part that needed to be replaced? It seems like they sent a tech out to my house just so they could charge their basic $99 fee! What this company did today seems very outrageous.
