Your treatment of my request
Your plumber was a no call, no show, so I got a refund. I tried again tonight and was given an appointment for 8am tomorrow morning. After paying, in was told there wasn't a guarantee that an in plumber would be able to make the time slot. I had already wasted half a day today waiting for the no-show. I had to drive 45 minutes to get there and just sat around all morning. I didn't want to have the same thing happen again tomorrow, so I replied that if it couldn't be guaranteed, I would have to cancel. I was charged $15 :to cover the cost'... Of what? No contractor had been called yet. I was severely inconvenienced. Not them.
Desired outcome: I want the $15 charge reversed and never want to hear from Home advisor or Angi ever again.
Warning all contractor pro's about angi leads
I'm a painting contractor that signed up with Angi Leads a few months ago! They have no set policies, everyone you talk to tells you something different.
1)
In the beginning they used to refund ghost leads. Ghost leads are leads that are purchased (at double the price of their competitors who sell the same type of leads). The leads are ridiculously priced, $100-$120.00 for a 1-2 bedroom painting lead. Then they have stopped refunding anymore for leads if the customer doesn't contact you after you chase them down. Making phone calls, sending text and email messages and no one responds.
They used to refund these type of dead/ghost leads. Now they tell you they just connect you with the customer and take no other responsibility for the cost of the lead that was paid for.
They are stealing money from their contractors!
2)
A customer is also allowed to write bad reviews when they provide materials such as a poor quality paint and then blame the contractor. The customer made up and exaggerated the situation. I called and they took the review down and then later put it back up. After almost two weeks of arguing back and forth with Angi Leads and them asking for proof to prove my case, they sided with the customer.
I'm done with Angi Leads/Home Advisor! They let this customer give my business a black eye which was totally wrong! We did nothing wrong but ask for extra money ($200.00 for an extra half day of work) because the customer provided a poor quality paint that would not cover the walls and had to be painted 3X's, causing us to come back the next day.
Angi Leads is a damn joke and doesn't side with their hardworking contractors that are out there busting their butts everyday, only to take abuse from some customers and its okay with Angi Leads/Home Advisor!
I will not EVER work with them again! I highly recommend not using Angi Leads! You will regret it!
Desired outcome: Nothing! I'm done with trying to recon with you [censored]s!
Incomplete Siding Work
On Friday, November 12, 2021, Home Advisor sent a contractor to make repairs on some of my house's vinyl sidings at 2560 Twin Springs Drive South, Jacksonville, Florida 32246... The contractor (Derrick) looked at the work that needed to be done and requested authorization to pull a siding panel off the side of the house claiming that he needed to take it with him to find a match to replace it and all the other sidings that were going to be worked on... The guy never returned... I tried several times to contact him via phone calls and text messages... He never answered the voice mails nor the texts I sent to him... Because of this now I have a bare spot on the side of the house... It's an eye sore that might've been easy to correct had the person you sent to do the job was responsible... I need you to help resolve this matter... My house had a few cuts at the bottom of the sidings produced by using a trimmer too close to the walls, but they were hardly noticeable... This missing panel IS noticeable and I need a solution the soonest...
Desired outcome: The house had all its sidings and now has one missing... I tried over and over again to get a hold of Mr. Derrick to have him bring back the panel he took... Would you, please, replace it?
Raven wood works / zac self
I Hired ZAC self with Raven Wood Works in September 2021. I signed a contract and paid him $1250.00. In November, I finally got a hold of him and he informed me he informed me he had left boise and gone to Washington to take care of his mother who had covid-19. W e discussed the fact that he would refund my money in payments, as of this date January 18, 2022 I have not received a payment. I texted him yesterday and he has silenced my notifications. What are my options of getting my money back. I have no clue where he is in Washington.
Thank you

Roofing
Kraz Construction (Highland, IN)
Roof was replaced in Aug., 2021 at 2108 Schrage Ave. in Whiting, IN;
Gutters on south side of building were never installed (after they removed the old one) I complained about this later, to no avail; also, no flashing was installed around the two chimneys... a heavy rain in September caused water to leak into the attic, and even into one of the apartments below. A chimney repair specialist just confirmed to me on 1-13-22 that no flashing had been installed around both chimneys. I would like a refund in the amount of $3, 000.00 so I can have a professional come out to complete this work.
Desired outcome: $3,000.00 refund

Lighthouse flooring
Hello, I thought I would reach out following the "repair" installation of our stairs, being no one from Lighthouse thought to. I'm extremely disappointed with your company. The lack of communication and scheduling is astonishing. We rearranged our schedules every time you said someone would be there. I understand things happen but no one was proactive...

Scheduled on the app. with my phone. The service was automatically scheduled and I chose the day and time. I received an email with a face picture of the worker named Jason Q. at phone #[protected] which is not local at all...weird but then I received a text from a local number [protected], today (they are supposed to come tomorrow) that "something came up, can come Friday instead" I replied Okay, then they said well can come tomorrow but earlier 7-9am.
First of all, they (the worker/contractor) should be making changes through the app. Now I got very suspicious and having a background check done on this phone number because, instead of confirming the time/day, later I received a text saying simply "hello" so I blocked them and deleted the message.
There is something very fishy going on! I went to cancel and Angie wants o charge me $15, so I'll have to wait and see tomorrow what happens.
I am very aggravated and disappointed with their service...meanwhile some stranger has my address and info, I have nothing but Jason Q. and a fake phone number. I also messaged the [protected] number for him o confirm and no response. I want a REFUND!
Desired outcome: Cancellation and refund
Charged for Booked Job although Cancelled Job serveral days prior.
Book ID# [protected]. To whom it may concern. I am one very upset customer at this time. I booked an appointment of which I was informed would not be charged for until after the job was completed, so I submitted my bank account info for these purposes and on that promise. Several days passed since I first created my booking and No one was calling me, I mean No one. So I found someone on my own. Then, I called HomeAdvisor because I couldn't find a way to get back into my account and talked to a lady named Laura? I told her I was cancelling for this purpose and she was nice and apologized, etc. On the morning of Oct. 30th which was the date for the cancelled booking, my dogs started barking so, I looked out and there was a man just standing at my door around 7:30AM. I opened the door and asked what he wanted, he said he had been at my yard since 7:00AM? and that he was there to do the drywall repairs. I told him, I had already had it done and had cancelled with Home Advisor because I never got any call back from any contractors to confirm. He then replied, that he personally didn't call me because he had just gotten the message from HomeAdvisor that there was a job scheduled on this very same morning? Now HomeAdvisor withdrawls $398.00 from my checking account that I had on file. I called and told them that this booking had been cancelled by me and that I had spoke not only to one but two separate people to cancel by phone and that they still sent someone out to my house unannounced and are now trying to charge me and put the blame on me instead of taking responsibility for it themselves. They said they could refund me half of my money back but they had to pay the contractor for coming out to my house and for his time. I can assure you he wasn't even at my house for less than 15-20 minutes. My neighbor has a camera on his house directed towards mine. I am sure this can be proven. Also, I cancelled this job several days in advance and yet they still decide to send someone out to my home unannounced and try and charge me. This is Crazy Insane and someone needs to reimburse me my money in full. I can't believe that what I thought was a reputable organization, would pull such a stunt like this! Yes, someone might owe this guy a few bucks for deciding to drop by unannounced, but I cancelled the job and just because HomeAdvisor didn't isn't on me! This is their responsibility, not mine. And if anyone would have called me in advance, I would have notified them that the booking had been cancelled, since apparently Home Advisor didn't? Thank you, Cindy Rodenberg
Desired outcome: Full Refund of $398.00
Their pro handyman broke my new shower doors now they say I have to pay for new doors
Home Advisor send a handyman to my house without seeing if he was capable of doing the work. He assured me that he was capable of doing the work, when he first arrived at my house I asked why he was not send someone to help him. He told me that he did not need help. He went into the bathroom where the shower doors was to be installed. After 2 hours, he told me it was going to take longer than 3 hours because he put the frame up wrong and he had to change it. About 1 hour later, he said that he was ready for the doors. He slid the first door across our floor and closed the door again. About 5 minutes later, I heard what sounded like a bomb going off in the bathroom. He yelled what the f*. I asked, was that the glass door. He said yes. I do not know how it got broken. He told me that he texted his company and they told him to leave right away. Home advisor now tells me that I have to pay for a new set of shower doors I should not have to pay for anything
Desired outcome: Home Advisor should by a new set of shower doors and install them
D and J Handyman Solutions
After a quick response and a quote for the job we set up a time and date for the work to be done. D and J never showed up and to date have not answered any calls. The phone now says "not receiving calls".
Thought you should be aware of this situation. We went to a lot of trouble preparing for their visit!
We are retired and the service they were to provide would have really helped us maintain our home. We expected at least a call back to explain their non action.
Desired outcome: Do not refer to them
Driveway sealing
Scheduled a service, but apparently materials are not included. When I spoke to someone from their fixed price team, they acknowledged that the booking site does not explicitly state that materials are extra. In the past, I've always dealt with sealing companies directly - and their quotes always include the materials. Their prices (with materials included) are also generally less than the materials only HomeAdvisor quotes. Finally, I'd rather have real pros (i.e., driveway sealing firms) do the work rather than general contractor (potential) hacks. Will likely never use HomeAdvisor again.
Desired outcome: That HomeAdvisor not intentionally mislead their customers on their booking site.
N-Hance of Columbus, OH 614-315-4069
N-Hamce complaint
Mon, Sep 13, 2021 2:23 pm
Jacquie Heitmeyer ([protected]@aol.com)
I received the information for N-Hance Wood refinishing from home advisor.
The person in charge of the franchise came out and gave me an estimate, his name is
Larry Pollock.
Larry told me that my floors needed to be lightly sanded and then they would apply a finish that would fill in any remaining scratches and then they would seal it with a light speed plus process.
Larry told me they would be very careful and cover up my cabinetry with plastic and put plastic around my doors so that the sanding process wouldn't get any dust inside of these areas.
I was told that the crew would arrive at 9 AM and they would finish the process in one day and be done by 5 PM.
I had a 992 square-foot area to be done I was told I would be charged $3.25 per units for a total of $3224.00.
They required a 20% deposit to schedule the appointment which I sent into them in the amount of $806.00.
My work was originally scheduled for 8/24/21.
N-Hance called and rescheduled my job to Thursday 8/26/21 and I was told that it would still be the same Time parameters of starting at 9 AM and being finished by 5 PM that same day.
I arrived home at 6 PM on 8/26/21.
My service technician Matt who is also Larry's son informed me at that point in time that there was still an hour and a half worth of work to do and I would need to come back around 7:30 PM.
It was a very hot day and I had to have my dog with me at work all day because everything in my house is touched by wood floors and that's why I went with this company because they could do it in one day.
I returned at 7:30 PM to be informed by the technician that they weren't able to get all the work done and that they would have to come back the next day.
I took a look at the work that had been done and what Matt said was finished areas and I told him that it was not acceptable that I could see still see all the scratches and no sanding had been done.
Matt told me that those areas were finished but there were some areas that he still had to work on and I said no the area so you say are finished are not acceptable I can see every scratch that was there in the first place.
He said OK let me have a crew come back tomorrow and I said NO, none of this is acceptable to make the work that was done here today is not OK and I need you to be accountable for making it right.
I told Matt not to schedule a crew to come out the next day that I would need to talk to his father Larry.
By the time that Matt finished up and left it was around 8pm.
I took a closer look at the floors that had been treated and I was furious so I called Larry around 8:30pm and there was no answer so I left a voicemail.
Larry called back later that evening but I was not available for his phone call so I called him the next morning on 8/27/21.
I told Larry that the work that was done was absolutely unacceptable it was quite frankly a joke!
He proceeded to tell me that he never told me that my floors would be sanded or that the scratches would be removed.
I said yes you did tell me that and then you went through this big elaborate presentation and told me how my cabinets would be covered with plastic so that the dust wouldn't go everywhere.
Larry said no that was a different process, and you chose not to do that one.
I said Larry you only told me about one process and that was this light sanding and then the light speed process with your finish that's the only process you told me about you didn't offer up another option.
Larry said, let my son come back and finish things up I think you'll be happy when he's done.
I agreed to let his son Matt come out for a second visit.
Larry's son got in touch with me and scheduled a second appointment at 2 PM on 8/30/21.
I returned home on 8/30/31 only to be cold once again that he wasn't finished with the job and still more work needed to be done.
I once again looked at the areas that he said were finished and I told them that they were not and it was totally unacceptable and I could still see every scratch in the floor.
Matt, Larry's son looked me straight in the eye and he said if I was you, I'd be mad too.
If this was my house and I came home and I was told this is the job I was getting I would be very upset.
He said it appears as if you were over sold and we under performed.
I said that's exactly right.
Matt said there's still some areas that he had to work on and he wouldn't be able to finish it up on 8/30/21.
I said Matt on top of all of the scratches that I can still see in my floor there are now many particles of debris that are now sealed into the finish especially in the front hall I can see actual dog hairs pieces of mulch.
Matt said yeah, I really need to come back out again and take care of that.
Matt returned again on 8/31/21.
When I returned home from work that evening nothing had improved the floors were still not acceptable.
I sent Matt a text and said did you not bother to come back out and fix these floors and he said no I did everything‘s done.
He never gave me any warranty papers and he did not give me a cleaning kit.
This job was 100% unacceptable.
After three visits from this company I am not willing to have them come out and try to fix it anymore than they've already messed it up.
I would like for my $806 deposit returned and to zero out the balance for my account. Please let me know how to proceed with this grievance process.
I will now have to hire another company to come out and properly sand and seal the finish my wood floors.
Thank you,
Jacquie Heitmeyer

Desired outcome: 100% refund of down payment $806.00 and $0 balance due on this account
Andrew Nass - Handyman Network-Goose Creek SC.
I hired Andrew to repair a dishwasher, it is not getting water. He was punctual and amicable, we discussed the dishwasher problem. He poured some water into it and pushed the star button. The dishwasher appeared to be working as it usually does. I was pleased but a little surprised to be charged $179 for a pump prime in 5 minutes. Andrew told me I was paying for his 10 years of experience and gave me a military discount, I paid him $143 through cash app. As soon as he left I restarted the dishwasher and it was as it was prior to his service call. I immediately sent him a text, he called right back. He said he couldn't come back until the next day, same time to which I agreed. He did not return and has since ignored 3-4 text messages both through the ThumbTack app and text. I've tried to call him and his phone goes straight to voicemail.
Gardening services
Booking id [protected]... Husband hired a gardener who kept rescheduling. Were suppose to mow lawn, edge & trim hedges! Mowed lawn half way decent, edged horribly, "and" massacred my hedge. Turned them into bushes which now give no privacy. Also, pulled out a couple of plants. Did not rake lawn or clean up after mowing lawn! I have been doing the clean up like I used to do but now that I am 80 years old, decided to have some one else do it. Never again! Have pictures but do not know how to provide. Date was 8/3-8/5. Not sure of date as it kept changing. Want a refund as the damage cannot be repaired. Mrs. Moses church 3758 millbury ave. Baldwin park, ca 91706 email: [protected]@aol.com [protected]
Unauthorized Membership Charge after cancelation
We canceled our Home Advisor membership a year ago because the leads are either mostly spam or the clients who go on home advisor are a complete waist of time and money in leads. We received another surprise membership fee charge of $288 on July 30th 2021 with no notification or authorization to pull funds from our account. I called the next business day to receive a refund and I was told by Don Revero that our subscription was not canceled and that they had sent us an email of renewal to an inactive email address of an office manager that no longer works here. His response was that they can not issue a refund once the transfer has gone through, even though it has been not even 1 business day since the transaction and we haven't used their services for over a year!
Desired outcome: Refund
Leads
HomeAdvisor is charging any amount they feel fits the potential lead, based on their lead criteria without any means for the receiver to vet, qualify or reject their lead and charge. Over a three week period I was charged $300 for which I did not respond to. Under no circumstances should any company use HomeAdvisor, especially if you are just starting out.
Desired outcome: Refund the last charge of $158.33
Very helpful. I agree with services rendered.
Fixed price contractor scheduled appointment
I went to Home advisor website On Friday 5/28 to schedule a contractor to install a whirlpool tub in my home. I was given a Fixed Price Option and agreed. I scheduled my appointment for one of the options they provided. I chose Sunday 5/30 at 8am. and paid approx $242.00 for install of tub and a membership I was required to purchase in order to get the contractor.
I get a text from WALT C, contractor from home advisor, who tells me HE CANT MAKE It Sunday at 8am because he has a Family BBQ but Can do Monday at 8am. OK I approve changing the date for one day.
I did NOT attach all the photos of the whirlpool tub, directions electric and water as the job was never the issue. The contractors continuous lies and schedule changes where the issue
Then WALT tells me I MUST reschedule. I tell him I dont need to reschedule HE DOES. he says OK. Then he texts me that he told Home advisor that I needed to reschedule and to just "play along!. He says the $15 I will be charged he will reimburse"if he has to". I REFUSE, stating I dont lie for family and I certainly wont lie for a stranger.
I then get a home advisor notification that the reschedule date is Tues June 1 at 10am.. I did NOT approve that date and time and cannot accept that as I work that day. I reply to the HA text and to Walts cell phone with a screen shot of the wrong date. He says he wants to stop by later today to view job b4 coming at 8am tomorrow. I tell him if he wanted to view job he should have KEPT THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT for 8am this morning. He then tells me he had a DR appt this morning (another lie) and I tell him it is HIS RESPONSIBILITY to keep his calendar up to date in the HA App, and he is not going to blame me for his scheduling errors. He then tells me to"[censored] off" and to get someone else.
I called & sent Home advisor all the screenshots of the texts between he and I to [protected]@homeadvisor.com as Tony, HA customer support rep told me to, and I also sent all the screenshots to the App # that home advisor was using to have WALT contact me thru the HA app. I have also attached screenshots of his text messages below. Tis contractor Lied 2 me 4X even before he entered my home, and asked me to lie to Home Advisor as well. He also admitted to lieing to home advisor.
Desired outcome: ALL money returned, plus damages for messing up my memorial day weekend. I also want any forced membership Cancelled and all moneys refunded. And I want to take FULL USE of their HAPPINESS GUARENTEE.
Leaky faucet
I hired a plumber, Jorge Rossi, for a Sunday May 16 at 12 pm appointment to fix my leaky faucet. I Cancelled on Friday May 14 at 9:30 am via text. Jorge and I texted each other about my cancelling my appointment with him. On Sunday May 16 I was charged $193.00 from home advisor even though the service with Jorge had been canceled. Home advisor called me on May 25 to ask about their service. I reiterated that my bank bank had been charged and was told by customer service I could not get a full refund. I was passed around 4 different times to rectify my charge. I want to lodge a complaint against home advisor for not being transparent. I would like a full refund of $193.00 to be credited to my credit card immediately. I would also like any personal information including the credit card number to be deleted.
Desired outcome: Refund of $193.00 credited to my account, personal information deleted
