They advertise benefits to get new enrollees but do not provide the benefits that they clearly advertise. I signed up for Medicare Gold plan that states $3000 in preventive and comprehensive dental. I cancelled my previous dental plan since Humana clearly states Dental coverage and my dentist is in network. Well, I cracked a tooth and need to get it looked at immediately so they can possibly save my tooth. Dentist office is in Humana network and when they put in my Member ID, it states I have no coverage.
Multiple calls to Humana and hours on the phone and all I get is customer service that does not have any idea what I am talking about. Then I am transferred to dental specialist who states I do have Dental and it will be fixed in 24 to 48 hours. Not fixed. The Humana plan is a fraud and a scam. Medicare said I have to file a complaint with Humana before I file a complaint with Medicare. I told Humana customer service I wanted to file a complaint and they transfer me to a specialist who claim it is a system problem and they will fix. In the meantime, I have a dental appointment and have to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket which Humana will not promise to pay me back. They stated I would have to go through a process to get reimbursed and there is no guarantee.
There needs to be a class action suit against these companies. I have had nothing put one problem after another with this policy since signing up. I have no idea how Humana gets such good rating on the Medicare site. They have hundreds of complaints filed against them for the same problem I am Having.
Desired outcome: I want guarantee in writing from Humana that any out of pocket expenses I pay that they will reimburse me for through electronic funds transfer with 48 hours of making payment.
