Delicious Meat Substitutes and Sauces: A Review of Hungry Root Meal Delivery Service
Hungry Root is a great place to get some tasty sauces and meat substitutes. I was a bit skeptical about Pumfu at first, but it turned out to be surprisingly delicious! And don't even get me started on the seasoned tofu - it's absolutely amazing.
One thing I really appreciate about Hungry Root is that you can pick and choose the items you want, just like you would at a grocery store. This is a nice change from other meal delivery services that force you to choose pre-made meals.
I've tried a lot of different meal delivery companies, but Hungry Root is definitely my favorite. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, and the flavors are always on point. Plus, the convenience of having everything delivered right to my door is a huge bonus.
Overall, I highly recommend giving Hungry Root a try. Whether you're a vegetarian or just looking to add some variety to your meals, they've got something for everyone.
Healthy and Delicious: My Life-Changing Experience with Hungry Root Meals
I gotta say, Hungry Root is the real deal. Their grub is so dang delicious, I can hardly believe it's actually good for me. I've been struggling with some serious gut problems lately, and let me tell ya, it's been a real pain in the you-know-what. I was at my wit's end, feeling like I had no options for healthy, easy-to-make meals. But then I stumbled upon Hungry Root, and my life has been forever changed.
Their meals are seriously the bomb dot com. I mean, I'm talking mouth-watering, lip-smacking, finger-licking good. And the best part? They actually make me feel good after I eat them. No more bloating, no more cramps, no more running to the bathroom every five minutes. It's like a miracle, I swear.
I don't know how they do it, but Hungry Root has managed to create meals that are both healthy and delicious. And let me tell ya, that's no easy feat. But they've nailed it. Every dish is packed with fresh, wholesome ingredients that leave me feeling satisfied and energized. And the best part? They're super easy to make. Like, we're talking five minutes or less. Which is a godsend for someone like me who's always on the go.
I can't recommend Hungry Root enough. If you're looking for healthy, tasty meals that won't break the bank or take up all your time, this is the place to be. Trust me, your taste buds and your gut will thank you.

Fresh and Delicious Veggies: A Hungryroot Review
Hungryroot is the bomb dot com when it comes to getting your hands on some fresh veggies. I mean, seriously, every time I order from them, the produce is so fresh that it's like I just picked it from my own garden. And let me tell you, the meals I whip up with their ingredients are always on point. It's like I'm a gourmet chef or something!
What I love about Hungryroot is that their ingredients are so easy to cook with. Even if you're not a whiz in the kitchen, you can still whip up a delicious meal in no time. And the best part? You know you're getting all the nutrients your body needs. It's like a win-win situation.

Hungry Root: The Game-Changer in Food Delivery
I gotta say, Hungry Root is a real game-changer when it comes to food delivery. I mean, I've tried a bunch of other companies before, but none of them can even come close to the speed of these guys. Seriously, it's like they have some kind of superpower or something. I'm always ordering food at the last minute, so having it show up at my door so quickly is a total lifesaver.
But it's not just the speed that makes Hungry Root so great. The food itself is top-notch. I've tried a bunch of different meals from them, and I've never been disappointed. Everything is so fresh and flavorful, and they've got a ton of options to choose from. Whether you're a meat-eater, a vegetarian, or somewhere in between, there's something for everyone.
And let's talk about the convenience factor. I don't know about you, but I hate going to the grocery store. It's always so crowded and stressful, and I never know what to buy. With Hungry Root, I don't have to worry about any of that. They take care of everything for me, and all I have to do is heat up the food when it arrives. It's seriously the easiest thing ever.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hungry Root to anyone looking for a fast, convenient, and delicious food delivery service. You won't be disappointed, trust me.
Review: Hungry Root - Healthy Meals Delivered to Your Doorstep
Hungry Root is a great website for people who want to eat healthy but don't have the time to prepare their own meals. What I love the most about them is the customize option that is aailable, which is very helpful when you want to personalize your delivery and the meals you want from them. It's super easy to use and you can choose from a variety of different options to make sure you get exactly what you want.
Whenever I don't have enough time to prep a meal and to hit the grocery, Hungryroot is what I turn to in order to make sure I can have something healthy. They have a great selection of meals and snacks that are all made with fresh, wholesome ingredients. I also love that they offer a lot of vegan and gluten-free options, which is great for people with dietary restrictions.
The delivery process is also really easy and convenient. You can choose how often you want your deliveries and you can skip or cancel at any time. The packaging is also really nice and everything is well-organized and labeled, so you know exactly what you're getting.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Hungry Root to anyone who wants to eat healthy but doesn't have the time or energy to prepare their own meals. It's a great way to make sure you're getting all the nutrients you need without having to spend hours in the kitchen.
Inconsistent Substitutions and Delivery Issues: My Experience with Hungry Root
I've been a subscriber to Hungry Root for the past 4 months and let me tell you, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. When it's good, it's really good. I mean, who wouldn't love a box of healthy, delicious meals and snacks delivered right to their doorstep every week? It's like having your own personal chef! But unfortunately, it doesn't always go according to plan.
Here's the deal: when you sign up for Hungry Root, you choose a certain number of meals and snacks to receive each week. You're given a list of options to choose from and you can make changes up until a certain date (usually 3-6 days before delivery). After that, your order is locked in and you're charged. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, not always.
One of the biggest issues I've had with Hungry Root is their tendency to make random substitutions after the order is supposed to be locked in. Sometimes I'll be expecting a new recipe and instead I'll get a random grocery item that I didn't even order. Other times, they'll try to substitute a lower value item for something I actually wanted (like a bag of spinach instead of the chicken salad I ordered). It's frustrating, to say the least.
And don't even get me started on the delivery issues. December was an absolute nightmare. I had an order due a week before Christmas that never arrived. Then, when my next order was scheduled to arrive 10 days later, it was pushed back 4 days right after I was charged for it. Talk about a letdown.
Now, don't get me wrong. The food itself is really good. I've enjoyed most of the meals I've received and I appreciate the fact that they're healthy and easy to cook. But the inconsistency has really started to wear on me. I'm starting to look for alternatives because I just can't deal with the stress of not knowing what I'm going to get each week.
They don't even deserve one star
They don't even deserve one star. I was told "free veggies for life" on a commercial. I was not offered a special or given a code for this. We tried them anyway and the veggies and fruit were spoiled, bruised, and smashed. Other packaged food was also smashed and exploded all over... I thought I had canceled and they still took $140 out of our account and then tried to tell me I cancel too late and I would not be receiving a refund. Only after I threatened them with this post and social media posts AND that we would flag this as an unauthorized charge, did they agree to a 1 time refund which will take *** business days! DON'T DO IT, PLEASE! Also you can't call them you have to text them. SO SHADY!

This is one of the worst food delivery systems I've ever used. They notify me that my delivery is on the way but it never arrives. Communication is almost impossible because they have no phone connectivity, only via computer which is terrible. Now today three days late they notify me that my box must have been lost and they will refund my $90. I used *** for two years and they never missed a delivery, all through the covid shut down. I should have read the reviews before signing up.
This is an absolute rip off! They charged me $75 for 8 items I could get at the store for a lot less, and then they notified me that they were substituting my protein for another (which I didn't want and I couldn't choose something else). They charged my credit card before telling me they couldn't send me what I ordered and refused to cancel my shipment or refund my credit card. Avoid them at all costs. I've tried *** and have never had such a terrible experience with any of these as I have with Hungryroot!
out of the last few months I have had them only two boxes were correct they substitute without asking you plus will substitute with things you are allergic to , not sure why I am staying going to look for a different food service this is the worst today I got three cooked chicken bags instead of the pork I ordered I do not get how they are still in service. And my salad bag was burst open in their flimsy paper bag horrible company
Food was good but company is bad
Food was good but company is bad. 1st order they missed sending an item. 2nd order they didn't send the tortillas in my order to make the chicken tacos in my plan. Also, my 2nd order was $250 for 2 pieces of chicken, 2 pkgs of beyond beef, vegetables beans and bread. They don't give an itemized receipt. Just put a high price on a box of food. It's a complete rip off. I have a family of 5 and I never spend more than $180/week on groceries at Trader Joe's and that includes wine, meat & dairy that did not come in my Hungryroot order. I felt like they stole money from me. When I sent messages their replies were careless. Bad company. They don't care about having customers. They just want to rip people off that think it's a great concept.

Poor products and customer service. I ordered my first box and told them my allergies and dislikes. They sent the box and it was two days late so all the meat was rotten but most of the produce had expired a week before. I contacted customer service mutiple times and was told they would refund me and over two months later still nothing and they continue to say it will be 5-) business days. Hungry root is a joke.
I received my first order this week and two days later after I got the order hungry root was going to send me another box of food. I went onto my account and I canceled that order and then I canceled my account. I then went into my bank account and saw that hungry route had already charged me $139.87 for the second box of food. They have made it almost inevitable for you to receive any kind of refund.. when I did cancel the second box I did get a email back confirming that the order was canceled. So I am not going to get any more food and Im not getting a refund. How can a company keep your money and not send any food?
My products came in not edible and still charged my cc full price several weeks in a row
Over proced and 99% of the time will not even send you the correct items and if they do they'll arrive damaged and unusable
Over proced and 99% of the time will not even send you the correct items and if they do they'll arrive damaged and unusable. I've given this company numerous chances because I do really enjoy their food. I finally gave up for good in March 20, 2022 and canceled for the last time. Fast forward to May 22, 2022. I get a package delivered from Hungryroot. Checked my bank and saw I was charge. I never reactivated my account. I checked my email and was never sent verification that I canceled. *** tried to tell me I've been skipping my deliveries for TWO MONTHS. I haven't, I think I would remember. They are no refusing to send me my money back. I paid $75 for some stuff to make TACOS. That's it. Avoid this mismanaged scam of a company.

I wish I had read these reviews before joining. I signed up and my first shipment was to arrive on a Sunday. I contacted support via email, because there is no phone number and received an automated response that it would take 48 hours for a reply. The agent notified me that the delivery was postponed until Tuesday and to respond if not received. Well, it wasn't so I had to wait another 48 hours; I tried the text option and that was a little better at 24 hour response. Delivery never came and it was only until I told them I would be filing a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com, that I received a refund.I would say this is 100% a scam.
There is NO phone number to contact the company for questions !
If I could rate the company a zero I would! Sent two boxes two days apart. The first box had about 1/4 of the contents listed on the shipping slip. We didn't order the second box at all. I refused delivery. There is no customer service to be found.I had to cancel my debit card because they were planning on shipping out the third box. No response from sending email and there is no phone number to be found to call them.
This is not the cheapest grocery option, but probably the easiest! You can pick either simple recipes, most under 10 minutes of prep that are delicious, or individual items. is great about crediting your account when there is a delivery issue or other problem.I highly recommend them!
Bad, Bad, bad
Bad, Bad, bad...zero communication to take care of problems. I cancelled the first order, it still came and in bad shape from the shipper. (busted containers) Now I get an email stating they are ready to send another box and I must change or cancel before noon. Looked all over their site several times and tried several communication leads only to get nowhere. Info on my account not accessible...and text message in response says 72 hours for response. How does that let me cancel on time (again) ? Stop payment will cost me 35.00 from my bank. What a scam or they have really serious problems they are not willing to fess up too. Not communicating while taking your money is serious. Stay away from these folks...so disappointed and a waste of time and money.

If I could give 0 stars I would. There is no customer service. Shipping is ridiculous. The app says my order is delivered but the company they use to deliver the food items says it isnt. Well it isnt at my house I sure know that! Over an hour and a half on hold with the shipping company and I cant even get confirmation on where my FIRST order is! Good luck getting an answer from Hungryroot! This company is RIDICULOUS! All they care about is how fast they can take your money.
I really wish they could get their issues fixed because I truly loved the food we received but we consistently received late shipments. That doesnt work for a family. If the shipment is days late, which was frequent, then we didnt have food at home and needed to grocery shop anyway. The whole point of ordering Hungryroot was so we didnt need to shop and still had healthy, delicious meals. I could no longer justify spending the money after receiving numerous deliveries that were days late and food that spoiled quickly because of the delay. I had the app so it was easy to cancel under account settings but I now understand why the reviews are so bad.
Much easier, convenient, and more economical than advertised! My first order had issues but I gave them a second chance and now I want to use this service forever- ultra easy, healthy, delicious, 100% CUSTOMIZABLE! They send you exactly what you want and need so theres no waste or clutter. Recipes are more servings than advertised. App is very easy to use.
This company does not deserve even 1 star
This company does not deserve even 1 star. Big mistake ordering from them before doing my research. Funny thing is I always do extensive research and this one time I didn't. They have you take a quiz on your food preferences and then ignore the info you give them. They don't show you the food you are going to receive until after you have paid them. After placing my order and realizing they are a bad company I immediately tried to cancel my account and they say you can't cancel until after your first delivery. Pretty sure there is some law against this. They do not have a customer service phone number. Bad business. I also plan to report them to the NY Attorney General's office. I am asking for my order #*** to be canceled as it has not been fulfilled yet.

Ok, I guess Im going to have to do this to get the attention of the companyIm missing a box (just like everyone else on this thread). I complain and got an immediate response from a person who promised it would be addressed; but after that radio silence from the company for several day I had to start making several attempts to hear from someone/anyone by email, by their online form, by text and even by phone with no contact or solution to my problem! I have no food; and they have MY MONEY!The food was great! I was in love with their service and food quality. I even bragged and tried to convince others to join. But I wish I would have taken the time to type in, complaints Hungryroot to save me the stress of dealing with this company.I want a full refund and I want it now.

I have ordered from there in the past
I have ordered from there in the past. Not impressed with food, but hey everyone likes different stuff. I went online to check out new items. Was not impressed again so closed out. I did NOT log into my old account and DID NOT place an order. However, come to find out i have a shipment at home waiting for me for $70.00. I would never have placed this order as it has items I would never eat. They said in response that i had to of clicked the resubscribe button. I am pretty positive that NEVER happened. And instead of trying to rectify the situation, they basically had no other response for me. I would NEVER think of doing business there again and would NOT recommend them to anyone. Horrible customer service and if that is how easy it is to restart your service, then that is ridiculous. I cannot even delete my credit card from there.
I have emailed 3 TIMES to cancel, and despite all of my attempts, I was charged $161.85 for a delivery I DID NOT WANT NOR DID I AUTHORIZE
I have emailed 3 TIMES to cancel, and despite all of my attempts, I was charged $161.85 for a delivery I DID NOT WANT NOR DID I AUTHORIZE.Adding to my frustration, the company only uses email and text for communication. I emailed the 3 separate times and got responses each time saying that my account could not be found, so I must have been cancelled. Then I got a delivery and my cc was charged, clearly a sign that my account is quite obviously still active in their system! My advice to anyone looking to start service with Hungryroot is DONT .Your personal and billing info will be forever locked in the bowels of their system, and even their customer service employees wont be able to prevent deliveries even after youve canceled. Youll never completely wash your hands of them.User's recommendation: DO NOT sign up for hungryroot service.

An egregious, unethical waste of not only food, but my time and money
An egregious, unethical waste of not only food, but my time and money. I chose this food service to help reduce my food waste. I could excuse the lack of variety when it came to delivering me the same meals every week, but what I cannot excuse is the THIRD incidence of my food being delivered a day late after sitting on a truck somewhere. The second time the company had the audacity to tell me the ice packs should've cooled my food. My delivery is coming from Phoenix, AZ to Las Vegas, NV after sitting overnight unrefrigerated. It's 115 degrees in both cities right now. I don't have the disposable income every week for them to just credit more than $100 and for me to go grocery shopping LAST MINUTE week after week. I understand mistakes happen, but they need to restrict their area of service as this seems to be a consistent issue that they have no obvious care to resolve.

Overall I like the food and recipes, but the customer service has made it difficult for me to want to continue giving my money to them
Overall I like the food and recipes, but the customer service has made it difficult for me to want to continue giving my money to them. I have had a couple of deliveries missing items for my recipes. I also had two deliveries in a row that were delivered late. The first one was a day late and the second, two days late. I received an email back about the first late box about a week later. I reached out via text and multiple emails and never heard back about the second late box that was two days late. My family had been planning on meals and didnt go to the grocery store because we expected our deliveries to be there on the day we signed up for them to be delivered. I think they have been busier lately, however, if that is so, hire more people to keep up with your customers needs. I still never heard back after finally getting the box delivered that was two days late. Im just disappointed.

My first order for Hungryroot was great
My first order for Hungryroot was great. We really enjoyed the food. However, my second order was far less fortunate. On the day my order was due to arrive, *** posted a notice that was an exception to my order. It had apparently been destroyed in shipping and disposed of. The plan we are on is nearly $180 per week. As this is almost the entirety of our food for the week, the cost was expensive but doable. I went to contact Hungryroot and discovered that they can only be contacted by email or text. I then received a reply that they will respond within 72 hours. This was suddenly a massive deal. Because of this companies inability to properly manage customer services, my family and I are out approx. $180 and no groceries to show for it. The only reason I believe this company deserves any stars is because the product we initially received was very good. However, if I had done slightly more digging and learned about their customer service, I would have never used their service.

If I could leave zero stars, I would
If I could leave zero stars, I would. DO NOT order from this company. I did expansive research on this company before trying them out and was so excited that this would be an amazing delivery service. My very first box came completely thawed and partially warm as well as an opened sauce that had spilled over everything in the box. I got to it an hour after it was delivered and it was only 40 degrees outside. I contacted customer service, and they gave me a $15 statement credit with no sauce sent to replace it. I was not too bothered by this, but 2 weeks later I had skipped a delivery and they sent it anyway with no warning. I contacted customer service, AGAIN, and it has been an absolutely terrible experience. They used they excuse that they cannot contact their facilities, and that there is nothing that they can do even though it was an error on their end. I was charged $100 for meals that I will not eat, and 8 of the same exact meal to boot. Just don't order from this company, you'll be 10x better off with HelloFresh.

I do not recommend this company, despite having tried superior food box services which outperform it.
I do not recommend this company, especially since I have used other food box delivery services which do a far better job. It's a shame, because I like the concept of Hungryroot: a source for easy, healthy groceries. They offer good products, mostly (I personally find their precooked chicken and sausage to be rubbery and tasteless), but where they really struggle is communication. Essentially, no one replied to my two complaints filed over 120 hours ago. (They state in their auto-reply emails, which themselves don't even arrive to your inbox until several hours later, that they typically respond within "72 hours." This already is a warning sign to me that they really struggle with their customer service.) In two out of three boxes, I had products that were either missing or damaged. After three weeks, I am honestly disgusted with their lack of care for customer service and have canceled my subscription. I will not be recommending this company to anyone else. Get your act together, Hungryroot.

I had suspended my deliveries because my initial delivery arrived at 2:30 PM in over 100 *** heat
I had suspended my deliveries because my initial delivery arrived at 2:30 PM in over 100 *** heat. I was also moving soon so I figured I would see what the new delivery time was at my new address and determine if I wanted to continue the service after I had settled in my new place. After suspending for four weeks, HungryRoot unsuspended my account and charged my credit card with a planned delivery to my old address. HungryRoot will not let me update my address as my new address is outside delivery boundaries (which I discovered on the same day that I learned an order was already placed). I am trying to cancel my account and cancel the order that is supposed to arrive at my old address next week. Hungryroot does not deliver to my new address and I received NO notification (not an app push notification, text, or email) that my account was reactivated and that they would be sending another order my way. Apparently I need to call and speak to a live person to cancel, however I live in MST and their call line is EST (during my work hours). Please help. Thank you!

Due to the Labor Day Holiday Hungryroot sent an email stating that my regular delivery would be a day late. That day turned into two days. I stayed home to receive the delivery which never came. I live in *** so food spoiling is a top priority. I could not reach the company. I sent emails with no response. I tried the shipper only to get them days later which they agreed to cancel the shipment. Well, Hungryroot told them to deliver it anyway...I could smell it right when I opened the door. Now I get to deal with a box of rotting food not to mention the *** I spent dealing with this issue. I reached out to the company for the fifth time. The response was I would received a $10.00 coupon. How is any of this my problem? If food is delayed it's going to be spoiled. This company can not manage deliveries and their customer service is non-existent. I canceled my subscription because no resolution ever came from the company.
This business chooses to use *** in my area to deliver perishable items. While I will state we have had numerous issues with UDS with about 25% of our perishable items being delivered so late we have had to throw them away this is only the second time this will occur with Hungryroot, albeit in approximately a two month period. My issue is the carrier says the car of the driver broke down and it won't be delivered today and probably not tomorrow. I have asked hungryroot to actually call the carrier to speak to them like I have but the only support I get is wait until 9 tomorrow, then wait until 9 today. That negates the "convenience" of using their service and I have not recieved confirmation of the refund. Ultimately, they chose an awful carrier with a history of doing thus throughout my area. I hope this 1. Brings the issues with UDS to their attention in a way they will choose to resolve 2. Have them empower their customer service with an ability to help, since I have more information than they have and 3. Ensure I get my refund.
Hungryroot asks that you designate a delivery date
Hungryroot asks that you designate a delivery date. Mine is Tuesday. Its Wednesday night at 10pm and my order still had not arrived. I will not be home tomorrow and because they are delivering perishable food, it will all spoil (which its likely spoiled already because it shipped originally Sunday) on my front porch. I cant get in touch with anyone from their customer service. I have sent four emails, text messages and DMs on their social media. There is no phone number to call and you have to either email or text them. I need to cancel my delivery now and also get a full refund. My order was three days late last week and the experience was the same. Their good is fantastic, but they make you pay up front for something that they just cannot deliver on time. Its food though - so it very much needs to be delivered in a timely manner. Hungryroots *** and instagram are riddled with these same complaints. Their company is a mess. Which is such a shame because the food and recipes are great. I need a full refund and more so, I believe the company needs to find resolution for these ongoing issues. They are not addressing it.

I cancelled my subscription two weeks ago and received a package the other day where the liquid ice pack leaked all over the product and my floor and now I got a bill for just over $98.00 and I don't feel I should have to pay for it since I had cancelled my subscription and they acknowledged it
I ordered groceries from Hungryroot. I left instructions to ring the bell when they leave the box in front of the door. We waited until 3:03 pm when I looked at my email and saw a message that the food had been delivered at 11:09 am. We've been here all day. No one came to the door. There were no groceries left at the door and no one ever rang the bell at 11:09 am. I want my money or the groceries. I paid for over $190.00 worth of food, and I have nothing. That was my food budget for this week. What the heck are we supposed to do now? Then this company has the nerve to not have telephone contact. You have to email them about issues. I want the delivery immediately or I want my refund immediately.

I logged back in on July 19th to attempt to cancel the order. However, I wasnt able to do so.On July 21st, I get another notification that my delivery would be shipped soon again. Tried to cancel that and wasnt able to.I submitted another complaint about the issue and was told my account reactivate each time i log in. That shouldnt be the case when youre trying to cancel or deactivate your service.7/26/22- I got notification on my amex card that my card was charged over $108 without my authorization. 7/26/22 I sent another complaint and was informed that I had another account in which I wasnt aware of but come to find out, it was an old account but it never had my current cc card so how was it charged when i never added it or was using that old account that I forgot about?

Hungryroot does not provide expiration dates in food so there is no way to judge freshness of meats and produce, yogurts cheeses etc

I placed an order with Hungryroot. The order was delivered but the items I got were not the items I ordered. The recipes were not in the box. Therefore, for the next week, I made sure I went into the app and hand chose each item I wanted to be delivered to give Hungryroot another chance. I got my order and none of the items were what I put in my order. I contacted Hungryroot via the app and they stated that they could see where I made my changes, however, it must not have been saved, therefore, Hungryroot chose food to send to me in lieu of my preselected choices. So for the second week, I didnt get what I ordered, I asked HungryRoot for a refund and to cancel my account. My account was cancelled, however, the representative stated they would not refund my money. I asked to speak to a supervisor, however, the representative stated that they did not have capacity for phone calls and talking to a supervisor was not possible. I would like for Hungryroot to refund my money.
I skipped the past couple weeks of delivery, and the next couple weeks of delivery, because I knew I would be out of town. This morning I got an email saying my delivery was on its way, and I was to be charged $118.89. The delivery just showed up. There is no way to talk to customer service. The email I got in return says I skipped it after the cut off which makes no sense since I cancelled a group of deliveries starting weeks ago. There is no way to get my money back. Im very upset about this. Not just wasting money, but wasting food. Im not there but Im on a specific diet and none of the food is anything I can eat anyway because I didnt choose it. Just terrible. A scam
I signed up to try a week for half off. They were supposed to send me five dinners and breakfasts for two people. They sent only one serving for the breakfasts and items were missing. I canceled the first business day after I received my trial box. They still shipped a second box after I had canceled and took $120.00 of my rent money. When I contacted customer service to return the box once received I was not acknowledged. The next day I received an email saying there was nothing they could do to help me with the return or refund. They said I didnt cancel soon enough. Less than one business day after shipment is received is not enough time to cancel before a second charge is taken. I believe I should be refunded. Im happy to return the product. I have an email confirming all shipments were canceled and an email the next day saying my shipment was on its way as proof.
I signed up for an account this past weekend in order to view their meals plans. The sign up process was totally online. I was unimpressed with their selection, so wanted to cancel, but they don't let new customers cancel online until after their first order has shipped. This is highly frustrating to me. I created an account online, I want to cancel online. I was unable to call yesterday, Monday the 11th, to cancel as I was at work. I logged in today to try and cancel and they told me my order was processing so I would have to wait until the $100+ order shipped to cancel my account. Now I am getting food I don't want and paying for it all because I couldn't cancel the same way I signed up.
I joined HungryRoot in November and have a two-fold problem
I joined HungryRoot in November and have a two-fold problem. My second delivery never arrived, and while I was informed by email that I would receive a credit towards my next delivery rather than a refund, I never received a credit and continued to be billed.I cancelled a delivery for this week (1/23/22), but it just came anyway, so now I have been billed $114 twice in error: once for food I did not receive, and once for food I specifically asked not to be delivered. I believe this company owes me at least $114 for the first error and some recompense for the second. I have also received and been charged for foods that I requested never to be sent, such as food I am allergic to, so I have had to pay for food I specifically asked not to receive and cannot eat.I have tried emailing multiple times and received misleading and inaccurate responses, such as the assertion I would receive a credit toward a delivery. There is no phone number or other way to contact this company.I have also now learned I cannot remove my credit card information from their control, even if I cancel my account, so now I'm nervous to cancel, although I want to. I've attached the emails I've received. The last one refers to following up on my complaint about a second missing delivery, and I never heard back from them. Today, when the order I canceled came, I tried to use their chat feature, but it's not actually a chat. It's just a link to the *** and has no options for billing problems.

I signed up to start receiving weekly fresh food delivery from Hungryroot, and paid online for my first order
I signed up to start receiving weekly fresh food delivery from Hungryroot, and paid online for my first order. It was supposed to arrive on 2//21 through ***. My order has still not arrive as of 3/*/21. *** tracking indicates that the order never arrived at *** to deliver. I have emailed and texted Hungryroot customer service multiple times, using the online form and phone number they provide, starting on 2/*** when I learned that *** did not have the order. I first was wanting to find out when my food would be arriving so that I could plan appropriately. After several days I requested a refund. After an initial automated response indicating someone would get back to me - probably within an hour, but not more than 48-72 hours -- I have received no response at all from Hungryroot to any of my emails or text messages. I realize that at times there can be unavoidable delays, particularly with recent winter storms and COVID, but I do expect to have good communication about what is happening. I tried to find a phone number, but the only one listed has a message saying that they only receive text messages. Consequently, there appears to be no way to actually talk with anyone to resolve this issue. In my last message I let them know that I would file a complaint if I did not hear something from them by the end of business today. I still have heard nothing back (and have not received the food I paid for - now 5 days late), so it appears they are indifferent to my concern.

On Dec. 2, I placed an order for grocery delivery in the amount of $116.89
On Dec. 2, I placed an order for grocery delivery in the amount of $116.89. Delivery was supposed to occur on Dec. 4. From the tracking info, I could tell that the box was never sent to the carrier, so I contacted Hungryroot via email to ask about the delay. Customer agent *** gave me a $10 credit for the inconvenience and told to me contact her again if my box wasn't delivered by Sunday 9 p.m. On Monday, Dec. 6, I responded back to ***, saying my box still had not arrived and how do I go about requesting a refund. Later that day, customer agent *** emailed me saying that although there was no tracking info, my box would arrive by Dec. 7 and instructed me how to check for freshness (implying that warm perishables should be thrown away, so not all the box items would be usable due to the delay). Later that night, the box still hadn't arrived and I responded back asking for a refund.48 hours later, there was still no response from their customer team, so I reached out via *** DM. Agent *** told me that a rep had already responded to me this morning and to check my spam. This was not true, there are no new emails from Hungryroot that I received, so I have no idea if a refund is being processed or how long it takes. Their website Help Section has no information about refunds, the word "refund" returns no results. They have no customer call center and I keep getting run in circles and lied to. It should not be this hard to process a refund or get them to respond.

I recently started my subscription to Hungryroot and was supposed to receive my order on Monday 12/**/20
I recently started my subscription to Hungryroot and was supposed to receive my order on Monday 12//20. Not only did it never show up, but the delivery tracking number posted that it was delivered at 10:07 pm at the front door (which is already an odd time to deliver any packages). I went downstairs exactly when I saw it was delivered but it was not there. I filed an inquiry with Hungryroot and heard back within 24 hours (which was great) but was only told an investigation would be done. I have not heard back since and it is now Wednesday 12/, and I have not been given any updates nor have a received this package. I now am at the point in my week where I decide whether or not to continue my subscription for the next week (because you have to edit deliveries by Thursday). How can I possibly even think of continuing to pay for a meal delivery service that has yet to even deliver me my first meals? I do not know where the problem lies, whether it's with Hungryroot or Lasership delivery but there is a problem and it has been neglected to be fixed. I was very excited about this specific service and was even bragging to my friends about Hungryroot in particular. Now I just feel stupid. I would not be as angry if it was a late delivery due to Covid or shortages in staff within either company, but unfortunately, someone posted that my package was delivered not that it was delayed. In addition, I financially plan my meals per week and invested the allotted amount of grocery money into Hungryroot. When, of course, my meals never showed up it royally screwed my entire week.

I received my first Hungryroot order on 8/21/22
I received my first Hungryroot order on 8/21/22. The purpose of ordering the meals was for convenience during a very tough week ahead and not having to shop for my own foods at a grocery store. When foods arrived, 4 of the items were already rotten and slimy, and one was completely missing, many of which were key components of the meals. I asked for a full refund and was declined. After less than 3 hours of receiving my items, I was told I misunderstood the storage of the potatoes (one of the rotten items) and was told they should have been stored in the fridge, not my pantry. I explained the entire bag would not have gone rotten in an air conditioned home in less than 3 hours regardless of where they were stored. Additionally, the Hungryroot "Your Kitchen Guide" clearly states potatoes are to be stored in the pantry. I again asked for a full refund, however was declined and was told I would only get a refund for items with the issues and that I could look up recipes to for other uses of the items without issues instead of using the meal plan they provided. I offered to send entire box back, I was told due to shipping limitations for food, they aren't able to receive returned boxes. This situation defeats the purpose if I have to go out to the grocery store and buy more items. I specifically purchased the meals/meal plan for ease and convenience so that I did not have to go to the grocery store or take the time to look up recipes. If I have rotten foods in the meal plans provided, then the meal plans cannot be followed. I spent a lot of money on something that could not be used as advertised. I am requesting a full refund for entire order, not for just the rotten and missing food.

I ordered Hungry root to try their healthier options about 2 weeks ago
I ordered Hungry root to try their healthier options about 2 weeks ago.. I did get my box with only one item issue .. it was unsealed and had to be discarded.. however after promptly supposedly giving me a refund for that item.. they upcharged me almost 200 dollars above my first order and before receiving my second.. I bought only ala carte items a better fit for a single person.. than any recipes orders.. however they charged me on the 1st box my real amount plus an additional charge .. my real amount was *** but they also charged me an amount of ***.. and both were posted to my charge.. the second order was only to be *** and they charged me a charge of *** what.. I contacted them because I was for sure they made a mistake and quickly refunded me or they could have even gave me the appropriate refund in a credit to be used on upcoming boxes.. however after multiple contacts through email and text.. I was told it was a plan charge whether I bought groceries or not.. NOPE .. I immediately contacted my credit card company and cancelled my subscription.. when I was put in touch with a senior person at hungry root.. I was told they would be happy to issue a refund of ***.. NOPE .. I said they need to fix this to charge for more than what was ordered was not acceptable.. and is literally theft.. I can understand if you have to make a minimum order but I met the minimum orders for free shipping.. and was charged way and above what could be called a subscription charge.. if you added up all my memberships in one that would not give you an upcharge *** over and above both of my orders .. theft.. is the only word I can use.. do not give them your charge card under any circumstances.. NEVER

I signed up for the weekly food service subscription service from Hungryroot.com and received the first shipment the next week
I signed up for the weekly food service subscription service from Hungryroot.com and received the first shipment the next week. We did not care for the food service and canceled it on February *** at 912pm. This met their requirement for cancellation to prevent any additional charges or food service. We received a confirmation email from hungry root that the service have been canceled. However on February ***, we received an email stating that are next week's order was set to ship, I went in and cancelled the service again. Then at 11:37 a.m. they charged my credit card for $99.90 for the next week's shipment. I contacted customer service through text and email because you cannot call them directly. I finally received a cancellation email stating our service have been canceled at 11:59 a.m. I got an email from hungry root stating that they had gone back and canceled the subscription again and had refunded the 99.90 at 1202pm Az time. On the *** of February, we received an email stating that our delivery for this week was going to be delayed - this is the delivery That was supposed to be canceled and we were not supposed to be charged for - until February ***. I reached out to hungry Roots yet again via email and inquired about the information we received in the email. We were advised today February ***, that we were still receiving a shipment of food and there is no confirmation that we are getting a refund for a service that we canceled in plenty enough time. I responded back to that email asking if we were being charged and as of yet have not heard from the company. Also. They claim that the subscription service has been canceled but because it was canceled, then reinstated and then cancelled last three deadline - this is what caused the shipment to happen.

I previously ordered from Hungryroot but stopped deliveries back in June
I previously ordered from Hungryroot but stopped deliveries back in June. This week I was trying to look at their available groceries to consider whether to resume service, as I know they change periodically. Apparently I clicked "resubscribe" since that was the only way to be able view the groceries. I assumed my account was back active but did not realize deliveries would auto-restart, especially since it had been at least 2 months since I'd authorized any payments. I also did not even choose the groceries, like I did painstakingly the first two times. Today I was paying credit cards & realized there was a charge on a card that I never use, which turned out to be from Hungryroot. I immediately checked my account and saw that they said I had a delivery on the way. BUT the delivery had not shipped yet. I immediately contacted them via email and text (as it's impossible to call them) and explained that I had never placed an order and asked for the shipment to be stopped and my card to be refunded. Also, the items shown as "on the way" are items I would never choose and will not eat, so will go to waste unless I can give them away. And the charge amount is way more than I spent the first two times, since I had a discount code then. I would never order these groceries and would never spend this much. They were unhelpful and told me that they can't intervene with the order, even though it has still NOT been shipped. They did state that they emailed me to confirm the shipment. I hadn't opened the email but did find it and the subject line just says "Your account has been reactivated" - which would have been fine with me if that didn't somehow mean an order was automatically placed, for items I did not choose. It says nothing about an order in the subject. And I am constantly receiving advertisement emails from Hungryroot so thought nothing of receiving what looked like an innocuous email. Very misleading company. Who would want groceries they don't eat?

I was scheduled to receive a delivery from Hungryroots on Tuesday, March 2
I was scheduled to receive a delivery from Hungryroots on Tuesday, March 2. By 10:30 that evening the delivery had not arrived so I texted their customer support number. It was weird because their website said it had been received but the shipping company tracking information said it was waiting on the provider (I took screenshots of this information.) Then, the next morning, the tracking company reported having picked up the delivery from Hungryroots at 1:01 am on Wednesday, March 3 and would be delivered that day. The delivery showed up at my doorstep between 3:08 pm and 4:00 pm. What a relief I felt! Then, frustration set in. Anything that should have been cold in the box was warm (house dressing, savory spiced tofu bites, chicken quinoa kale soup, four cheese tortellini, roasted red pepper hummus and chips, spinach garlic chicken sausage, pasture-raised liquid whole eggs). These items were staple ingredients in 3 dinner recipes that I had purchased from them. In addition, all the vegetables and other cold items (PB cup cookie dough, kale pesto, sesame ginger, portabella mushroom caps, seven veggie stir fry, avocado crema, baby spinach) that wouldn't spoil immediately by getting warm are wilted and molding within 4 days of delivery. As soon as I received the warm food on Wednesday, March 3, I texted the customer support number with the issue and received an automated response saying they would get back with me within 48-72 hours. I waited patiently until Saturday, March 6 in the afternoon. At about 3:30 pm, I contacted the company through the email on their website asking what I needed to do. Still not a single response from anyone. Today is Sunday, March 7, and I am frustrated with the lack of communication from the company. I also sent them one more text message through their customer support number and received the automated response yet again. They sent me a bad item and are not following through with their communication to resolve the issue.
