you will be absolutely miserable after taking this course
Such an arduous course! I had to take it after getting a ticket for doing seven over in middle-of-nowhere West Texas from a state trooper. You have a timer on each page and you can't progress to the next page until the time expires. There are hundreds of pages in this course and you always find yourself staring at the timer because it only takes a few seconds to read through the page. If you fail a section you have to completely take it over with the timers. Why? I already spent six hours going through the content once? Why do I have to spend another 45 minutes on top of the six hours redoing a section? Just let me review the material I've already gone through at my own pace and retake the exam at the end of the section.
You will be absolutely miserable after taking this course and will have to wait a few hours just to let the steam vent off before getting behind the wheel again. If you haven’t had a ticket recently just get it deferred and don’t waste the extra time, effort, and money taking this course.
they overcharged us greatly
We purchased the drug & alcohol course that is required by the state of Florida before you can get your permit. The website offered for an additional $25.00 to take the permit test online. I called prior to paying to ask if there would be a discount at the DMV when I took my daughter to the DMV to get the permit. They told me at Idrivesafely that the most it would cost is $10.00 for the actual permit card & the hearing and vision test. After getting it all done on there website, we went to the DMV and they told us that the "third party" website ripped us off because we have to pay the $54.25 with them regardless. Yes, the Idrivesafely.com sends the DMV the info that you passed the tests, but it doesn't save you any money...It actually costs you more...Your better off just taking the Drug & Alcohol test that is required and taking the test at the DMV...the Idrivesafely.com claims they are saving you money, but in all actuality they are ripping you off and don't care...I called them and spoke to a supervisor to get my money refunded, he then put me on hold and then hung up on me...I called back, and this happened twice more...
very disgraceful
I agree exactly. This site appears to be a scam. The "Environment" test consists of questions like 1. Lebanon, Egypt, or Syria was mentioned in the reading (Answer: Lebanon is the only middle east country without a desert). Another is 2.Mead, Havasu, or xxxx was mentioned in the reading (Answer: Mead is the largest man made lake in USA). So when 3.Bush, Clinton, or Reagan was mentioned in the exam - I couldn't recall but if the question had been which item was mentioned in the reading a. Clinton balanced the budget, b.Reagan met with Gorbachev, or c. Bush lowered taxes - the point is that all 3 are true but you would recall which one you just read about in the material even though it has nothing to do with driving but it's a check against fraud I guess. Lastly the reading material said that Jupiter was the 2nd largest planet in the solar system - wrong it's the largest but again what's it got to do with driving. And what's this "Environmental" test? I got 76 the first pass and thought well, this isn't the final "driving" test. It popped up again and I could not see how I should review, etc, so I took it again thinking it's the "Environment Test", not the Final, and I flunked again. Then they want another $129 to retake the course plus the girl told me that all of my previouos money was gone so I'd have to start over regarding the court costs, etc. (I think the latter part about court costs must be wrong but it's what I believe she said although she was not really bright having to constantly put me on hold, etc). Big Scam in my opinion - I reversed my charge card payment. I'd advise doing the same to make them do a better job of figuring out who is doing the actual work to pass the "legitimate driving" test, not some phony crap to get another fee.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The key stroke authentication process is flawed on their web site. A lot of people will end up go to a public notary to take a paper exam instead of the online exam which defeats whole the purpose of using this online course. You would be better off to go to a class room and be done with it.
they take your money and give you complete bull$#*!
$#*! This piece of $#*!. I took the permit test and got 3 100s on the practice exam and I studied but yet somehow failed the actual test twice. This website is a scam. They take your money and give you complete bull$#*!. Never use this site.
This company provides terrible information and customer service. There is supposed to be curriculum that I as a parent can use to help teach my daughter how to drive. Cannot get to this information. Also, their instructions on what is required to bring to the Texas Driver's License Office is not clear. Don't waste your time with them. Find another course provider that allows you as the parent to see the instructional material
The worst customer service ever...!

Hi Jappe,
We apologize that you did not like our course. We can guarantee that we are not a scam. We have been in business for more than 10 years and are approved by the DMV in 35 states. Which state did you take the test in? Were there certain questions that you thought were wrong? We can definitely check the test questions vs. the test answers to make sure there are no errors. If there is a way we can help, please let us know.
Thanks,
The I DRIVE SAFELY Team
do not use this site to fulfill your requirements
I paid the $75 dollars for driver's ed and was not told that there was 180 day limit to it. I called the service rep and she said that it was in the contract. I just looked at my contract and no where in there does it say that there is a cap. She said my only options were to pay and addition $20 to have it open for 30 more days but if I don't finish it in that time I'll have to pay an additional $20 until I do. I am a full time student and have a full time job, needless to say, I have very little free time and that time is spent taking care of errands, cleaning, cooking, and sleeping. The customer service rep was rude the whole time and treated me like I was an idiot or that I was being a b****. Do NOT use this site to fulfill your requirements. It is a total rip off and when you do call for help, the people are completely rude.
I had a terrible experience with I drive safely
I had a terrible experience with I Drive Safely. I paid the $30 fee for the class unaware of an arbitrary automatic lock on accounts older than 180 days. Their website said to contact them to unlock the account, so I called customer service.
They said they wouldn't unlock the account unless I paid an additional $10 fee! I asked them if it was possible to waive the fee since I already paid for the course, but they refused. I even talked to someone in "upper management" who rudely explained that they were trying to charge me an extra $10 as a courtesy (not sure how that makes sense). She even tried to suggest this nonsense was somehow a result of coordinating with the courts. There's no way any courts are trying to get them to charge ridiculous fees... which she finally admitted.
Also, they claim the fee is in their terms and conditions, but it is NOT! Unbelievable. There are plenty of other options out there, so find another online driving course that isn't rude and doesn't try to screw their customers.
horrible customer service
This company and others like it are a ripoff. They make it impossible to complete the test, so you have to enroll into a class room in the long run. First of all the test consist of topics not related to driving at all. You learn about trivia you never cared about before. Call center phone reps like Nina are useless and a waste of minimum wage. If you ask...
