IKEA Customer service

A cashier who introduced himself as a manager when I asked him to call someone else to continue my purchase. He treated me and my children impolitely and insulted me in front of my kids. This experience is not acceptable to me at all and I want to see an action resolution. The attached picture is for another employee who witnessed the incident.

IKEA An overdue refund for items never received

I have contacted Ikea support on Twitter, online chat, and by telephone daily without a response. 

This is an absolutely disgusting service from Ikea. I am furious!

Background

My above order was due to be delivered on Friday 23rd September 2022 between 12.30 and 4.30pm. My account showed the delivery arriving in 2 parts. One delivery arrived, which was the Dröna storage boxes to go with the 2x Kallax units I ordered. The driver's delivery note showed the 2 Kallax units as being cancelled. No reason given.

Firstly, why did Ikea not have the decent courtesy to tell me part of my order had been cancelled? And why was it cancelled? 

Secondly, if I knew the Kallax units were not being delivered at all, I would have refused receipt of the Dröna storage boxes. They are useless to me without the Kallax units!

After numerous hours of trying, I finally spoke to a rather rude (couldn't care less attitude) customer service colleague who told me she would reorder the Kallax units. No explanation, no apology. I advised I want a full refund, and Ikea would need to arrange to collect the Dröna boxes as they are part of my entire order, which has not been fulfilled. 

Finally, I require a refund for the delivery fee paid as my complete order was never delivered. 

The customer service agent raised the entire order again and then advised she would refund the Kallax units. 

No refund has ever been received.

She advised that she cannot arrange the return of the drawer boxes as there are no dates available. She advised that I would get a call when a date was available but could not tell me that would be. It could be weeks, could be months!

This is an unacceptable service from IKEA.

I then contacted Ikea Support via Twitter. After numerous days I received a response advising the boxes would be collected on Saturday 1 October between 7am and 7pm. I stayed home all day. 

I did not receive any phone call to confirm a collection time from the team, as I was infomed I would. 

Now

Every day for the past 4 weeks I have called, contacted via online chat, sent tweets, insta messages and Facebook messages yet NONE of these avenues of communications gets a satisfactory response. Chats are never connected, no one ever answers the phone or the line simply goes dead. Almost 2 hours I was waiting to speak with an agent on one occasion, but had to go to work so could not wait any longer. 

This lack of customer service is absolutely diabolical. You make millions of pounds and regularly open new stores but you cannot arrange the manpower to support customer services. 

You take our money and then ignore us. 

I am extremely angry with Ikea. You owe me £110 for the 2 Kallax units and £48 for the 16 Dröna storage boxes. If this is not processed by you and received by me immediately I shall take this matter to a solicitor. 

SORT IT OUT NOW PLEASE!

IKEA erktorp 3 places sofa

I have an ERKTORP sofa for 3 person, I have to moove to a new house and it is impossible to dismantle the mentioned sofa and IKEA is not answering... model is 10 years old and it is in a perfect condition!

Portuguese Ikea Matosinhos customer help store, where sofa was bought says they can't help, because sofa is as is! One of the slogans of Ikea is that we can mount everything, so... No one seems to help.

IKEA Discount, delivery date & incomplete order

I will try to clearly articulate the problems we encountered when purchasing a fully equipped kitchen at Ikea in NL, worth almost €5,500.

1. Discounts:

In early August, we discovered that a discount on kitchen appliances was applicable if a kitchen was purchased above a certain amount.

Since we needed a new kitchen, that was the trigger to check out Ikea in Barendrecht and we were pleasantly surprised.

Unfortunately, when we wanted to have a drawing made at the counter, it could only be done by appointment. Once we got home, I immediately tried to make an appointment at short notice to have a kitchen drawn, but unfortunately, by the beginning of August there was nothing left to reserve in that month. This was of course very strange, especially since I tried in the branches Barendrecht, Breda, Delft and Utrecht.

Because I wanted to take advantage of the discount offer, I called customer service and there I was kindly answered by a gentleman who told me that this was very strange and he came to the same conclusion when he tried to help online. But, he said... "just make an appointment as soon as possible and explain this problem clearly during your appointment. Then we can still see if the discount can still be applied." Unfortunately, the first opportunity in Ikea's calendar was only on September 7 and all the way in Utrecht.

Since this was the first opportunity within the mentioned branches, I took that afternoon off and we went anyway. Unfortunately there was absolutely no understanding for this problem and they stubbornly insisted that the discount was no longer possible in September. "This was clearly stated on the website.

Since we had come all the way to Utrecht anyway, we still had a kitchen drawn and eventually decided to order it. This despite our disappointment that "cost" us a few hundred euros because your reservation system did not work properly (according to your customer service representative).

2. Payment

Because we only left your premises in Utrecht at about 17:30, the first opportunity to go over the checked order again was not until later that evening. Later that evening I was called by Ikea that the drawing was checked and I decided to give my approval by phone and to place a final order for the kitchen. Its delivery was scheduled for October 7. I immediately explained to your employee over the phone that I couldn't pay that evening anymore and I could only take care of it the next day. According to the Ikea employee this would not affect the delivery date. After payment the next day however, I received an email that due to late payment, the delivery date was moved to October 11. This completely messed up my planning for the other work in my house.

3. Order

Upon final confirmation of the order, two items turned out to be missing; a door and a connecting strip. These have not been charged either, but I now have to pick them up myself at one of your branches.

This is obviously not very customer-friendly when buying a kitchen worth almost €5,500, especially since I have to ask someone to drive me to your shop. I asked for a solution, but it is "unfortunately another solution is not possible and you will really have to pick them up yourself, we can prepare them for you, but of course that costs money".

Perhaps you understand my great dissatisfaction with a company from which I expected much more and I hope that someone is willing to respond now.

IKEA Billy Bookcase (three shelves including bottom)

On May 7, I requested replacement shelf pegs. I never got them, even though I was told it would take about 10 days. I went back to the store in August and they ordered them again. It is now close to the end of September and I still don't have them. I don't have anything comparable at home. I understand there are supply chain issues. If you don't have them available, I need to know if I can drill holes into the sides and use 1x1x0.6 inch brackets. For months the shelves are on the floor. This is ridiculous!

IKEA Delivery of on line ordered and paid for goods

My name is James. I ordered beds and sofas for my brother John. He is 65 & disabled; his adult son who lives with him is autistic. We were told by ikea that delivery would be in august. I arranged for his old sofa and beds to be removed the day before. Since the removal has been rescheduled four times - and it’s now due 2 October. My brother and his son are sitting on kitchen chairs and sleeping on floor in sleeping bags.

IKEA is uncontactable - their hammersmith shop complaints team “doesn’t deal with deliveries”

Can anyone help!

Desired outcome: Anyone from ikea to sort this out and get my brother beds to sleep on and sofas to sit on

IKEA Customer Service

I got a call from the delivery company that they did not pick up my order and thus my order was not going to be delivered on the date promised.

I called IKEA to reschedule my delivery and the person who answered my call was extremely rude. Her name was Ashley.

I further asked to speak to a supervisor. I was on hold for almost 30 minutes to speak with a Supervisor. A supervisor name Kenya finally took my call, She greeted me and introduced herself but that was about it. I could just hear her typing from there on and she was just quite. I kept saying hello but she just kept ignoring me for almost 5 minutes. She then put me on hold.

What is going on with Customer Service?

No ethics, no manners, no respect?

It happened on September 15, 2022 between 2pm-5pm Eastern Time

Additionally, I was transferred to the resolutions department and a person named Justin answered my call and said that he has updated information and that the delivery WILL arrive as scheduled and that he has refunded me for $50 delivery fee.

When i called the resolution department back, they said they had no record of that happening and no record of my call with Justin.

It is just a mind-boggling experience!

I shall be EAGERLY waiting to hear back from the UPPER MANAGEMENT in this regard.

IKEA My experience in buying a fridge.

I came home from vacation to find my fridge had stopped working. So I phoned around to see what was in stock at the stores near me. Ikea seem to have fridges that I like in stock at Dartmouth crossing NS. So I went to this massive Ikea store, upon finding the fridges in the store noticed 4 in store personnel in this department huddled together talking. Figuring if I started looking at the appliances someone would do their job and come assist me. Looked at fridges then stoves (thinking of a new stove too) for over 10 mins with no assistance. So I went and stood by theses 4 so called employees and waited (about 2 feet away) after over a minute one of them finally look up and noticed my existence and ask if I would like anything. I explained I was looking for a fridge in stock and a stove to match. he then handed me a their book of appliances and said he had to go for a training seminar and promptly left. All of the 3 other personnel saw him leave because as he left he shouted going to the seminar. Not one took the time then to come help me. I found the two models I wanted in the book, by this time 2 employees were on a computer working on how to make a floor plan on a computer and the other was just standing by a work station. I walked up to this person and asked if you have these models in stock. She then walked me over to another area with a computer logged in found the models and said yes. Good I informed her I would buy them and how quick could you deliver them because my fridge is broken and I really need a fridge. She opened up another program and said it would be 6 day before delivery, I then stated again I do not have a working fridge and I would pay for a rush delivery and would this be possible. She just stared up at me with an expression like you actually what me to do something and said no. I tried again is there nothing you can do to help me get a fridge sooner again just a no.(No phone calls no talking with anyone just no.) I should of left right there and then but no one else seemed to have anything in stock so I bought the appliances and made the appointment to have them delivered in 6 days.

On the day of delivery my brother was visiting from Ontario and ask when the appliances are due to arrive so we may do something else this day. I said between 1 and 5 pm. It was about 1 pm when he asked so I remembered the email they sent confirming my delivery had a tracking app. I open the app and to my surprise the delivery of my long awaited fridge has been cancelled and they would contact me with another time and date. So I phoned and after 5 to 10 mins I managed to talk to a real person that stated yes your delivery has been cancelled but could not tell me why or when it could be re-scheduled but he would transfer me to someone that could. Waited more the 20 mins on hold got fed up, hung up and stated to my brother with you and my trailer we can go get a fridge but It would not be from Ikea. So my brother and I spent the afternoon going to at least 4 to 5 different stores looking for a fridge in stock that was not over 4 thousand dollars. Was just about to give up all hope when we tried the Brick warehouse in Dartmouth crossing. Now this is a warehouse not a store but we decided to give it a try. They had a small office and as we walked in the personnel there promptly asked if they could help us. I said yes and explained my fridge was dead and needed a new one and did they have in stock. The lady behind one of the desk quickly came up to the front desk opened the computer and said we could look on line to see what you want then see if it is in stock. This employee was amazing we must of looked at at least 15 fridges before we found one in stock. That's jumping from the Web sight to the warehouse sight and the whole time she was friendly, humors and professional. Then when we found a fridge in stock she got my info and put me into the Bricks web sight so I could purchace the fridge. What amazing, outstanding and very rarely seen these days customer service and this is not even a store. I only cared about the fridge by this time so a new stove will have to wait. (but when that time comes it will be from the Brick). Long story short HA HA got the fridge in the house phoned Ikea cancelled my whole order and will NEVER enter an Ikea for the rest of my life.

Desired outcome: Never to give your brand a cent.

IKEA Service

I purchased a sofa (FRIHETEN - Skiftebo Dark Gray)online on 08/20/2022 from IKEA online and IKEA delivered Hyllie Dark Grey on 8/25/2022.I got the Sofa assembled by Task Rabbit and found out that it was an incorrect sofa after I returned home . There was nothing mentioned on the box about the made of the sofa except FRIHETEN. The challenge here is I need a Sofa with Left Hand chaise and the one delivered was right hand chaise apart from the colour difference. I have been following up since then to get my Sofa replaced. However everytime I called, I had to tell the whole story and every individual I got through gave a different story. I already paid for the assembly of my sofa (incorrect) and now they are asking me to pay again to unassemble the sofa and then to resemble the new open . Why should the customer be charged multiple times for the mistake IKEA?

The Customer support team has created 2 case numbers [protected] and [protected] and no resolutions at all . No one is coming to pick the old sofa, nor are they delivering a new sofa. I have been tired of following up with them and no one is helping me out.

Apart from that I also ordered a Brimnes Drawer set on 08/30/2022 that was delivered on 09/03/2022 and while I opened box 1 one of the parts was broken . I have been following up and no one delivered the part yet , in fact no one contacted me yet for that too. Case number [protected] .

It's so frustrating and irritating even after paying so much of amount for the Product and delivery I am not getting the desired service from IKEA and its getting further annoying to contact again and again the customer service department , waiting on the hold for several hours and then no resolution .

IKEA Missing complete bed and boxes of parts for two other beds

Hello I'm so sorry to bother you with this but I've had a terrible experience and I don't know where to turn. My delivery came from the Burnsville MN store.

First of all, I live 2 hours away in New Ulm MN. I got an IKEA project card and spent almost $1,800 for 3 beds SKALT, and 4 mattresses and to have them delivered.

The delivery guys came today and I noticed they appeared to be short a bed. I later find out it's much more than that as the 2 beds that came were also incomplete. The delivery driver said at the store an older woman helped him get the stuff and he told her it was missing stuff and she appeared dismissive and confused.

I contacted customer service a few times and they weren't very helpful, I was told it would be 7 to 10 days for a replacement and this was before I even knew I was missing other boxes. Are you able to please help me in any way I have 4 young children and can't really drive up there to speak directly. I'd like to just be able to speak to someone from IKEA in the US and explain this to them calmly.

Thanks in advance of anything can be done here, I'm literally at my wits end.

Desired outcome: It's like to speak to someone who can help me get the missing boxes and the complete bed that's missing.

IKEA Overcharged

On July 31st I checked the ilea wed site to see that the family price on the mattresses we wanted to purchase was set to expire at the end of the night. It was 10:50pm when I started placing my order. Everything was looking fine but when I went to check out, the price jumped $60! I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but we only purchased the mattresses because of the discount. When I called customer service, they told me there was nothing I could do because the mattresses were purchased on August first after the deal had expired. I told them I had an email time stamped for 11:03 CST and they responded we don’t know why it says that because on our end it says you placed it at 12:03am. I really like IKEA but how am I supposed to feel comfortable spending my money there when they can pull shady stuff like this? How do I know they won’t do it again?

IKEA bad mannered, aggressive, no professional

first of all, I would like to suggest to chose the good company for delivering the goods.

I would like to stress, that I purchased a wardrobe (1500 €). on Suterday a personal of delivering Company deliverd the wardrobe (30 packages) at the second floor inside of the house. No problem they were professional.

this moorning arrived the branches of the wardrobe (no heavy and only 6 packages). the new, bad mannered , personal of the delivering company, told me that the packages do not delivering at upper floor, since it is not planned.

I answered that yesterday it was done for 30 packages without problem. He aswered that them are not ikea. at the and I invited him lo leave the packages. soon after he called his manager and he wanted potho at the ladder. I invited him lo leave home otherwise I would have called the police. the man has been aggressive bad mannered and he is not suitble to do this job and specially to have contact with customer. My order 427/[protected] 01/08/2022. Sincerly

IKEA Havsta shelving unit ([protected]) bought from ikea jordan

Dear Sir,

I bought subject unit from Amman, Jordan Store and it was delivered and installed along with other items at my apartment on 6 July 2022.

After they left I noticed that one of the shelves was not installed properly and fell down. I tried to put it in place myself but found that the shelve's width is bigger than the width of the space and it does not fit on the hangers for it.

I have been calling Ikea's claims and customer support in Amman to check it and find a solution or take it back by phone and email, and they keep sending me email saying that someone will call within 24 hours to arrange for a visit and nobody called.

I am very much unsatisfied with the product itself and with the service and I want the unit returned.

Desired outcome: I want the unit to be returned.

IKEA Being lied to by Sales people to make a sale and then upcharge.

I made a purchase of a Besta cabinet, but the shelves were not in stock. My wife and were informed that we would be notified (by giving Ikea our email) as to when the shelves were in stock and we could order them for delivery (about $10 delivery charge). Now, they want to double my quantity needed and charge $300 for delivery. (The store is about 300 miles 1 way from where I live.)

I call this Fraud.

Desired outcome: The company fulfills what their sales rep promised. 5 shelves with a reasonable shipping cost.

IKEA Service

3 weeks back went to IKEA to but full furniture for my apartment, bought almost everything from there, paid 31 KAED, there was a discount voucher (that they calim they gave us) for 25%, anyways, went 4 days later to use that voucher for stuff worth 2000 AED, which means 500 AED discount :D. tried to explain to customer service that we were told to use the receipt as the voucher, but they didnt believe us.

Anyways again, she said we will check cameras and printer thru IT, then 30 mins later she told us we found out u r wrong and that u were given the voucher.

so my simple question was since your so sophisticated and can know all that, why dont you check if the printed voucher code was ever used or not, so the sweet polite lady there decided to give us a look that we are trying to steal her and said "sorry sir we cant do that" and left without even apologizing.

my question is, what level of IQ makes someone think that a person who paid 33 KAED will want to sneak a 500 AED!

the sad story doesnt end here, for the stuff i bought i asked for delivery and fixing service, and had to sign a consent form so they can hang 3 mirrors, and when they came, they said we can hang only two coz the third is frameless and we have policy not to hang it, and here comes the second question, if you as IKEA doesnt trust hanging your own stuff, why are u selling them and expecting customers to take the risk of hanging them on your behalf!

one of the worst customer service experience ever from a lady who thinks i will need the 500 AED discount and will try to sneak it, to the brilliant policy of not trusting your own product.

IKEA product too small/wrong size

Bought queen size bedlinen and it's half a meter too short.

I'm very annoyed as I threw out packaging although I do have receipt but Ikea is an hours drive away.

The product is SPJUTVIAL and it was $49.

Bedlinen should be correctly measured and not saying queen size when it's actually not.

IKEA Delivery not fulfilled

IKEA is known for having one of the worst customer services in North America, which was a known fact to us after we purchased the sofa bed. The sofa was surprisingly split into two deliveries. We were unaware of that and were surprised that a huge company has no control over its distribution or customer service.

The item was ordered online. Customer service reads from pre-written scripts, and they just drop the call if they do not have an answer!

We had a similar problem, and they never delivered the second part or gave us a full refund. We had to contact our state's consumer protection to finally get a refund and for them to pick up what they delivered.

I hope you are doing well,

I am reaching out to you as I feel sorry for a reputable company like IKEA to have such bad customer service in UAE.

I have contacted today morning 28/06/2022 around 10:10 am Ikea UAE customer care seeking a help/advice on how to order/find the Friheten cushion skiftebo dark grey 67x47 cm spare part as I couldn't see it in UAE online stores but have found it in other European stores but I got surprised when the guy at the customer care talking to me in a very bad manner and as if I am mentally retarded and he kept repeating the "ok" word after each sentence with an ironic way bcz I was only asking him how to order Friheten cushions from the main company in Sweden or is there any way to order it from other stores through UAE ikea stores.

I hope we don't see such behavior in the future, such behavior from a customer care agent who should guide and help each client and reach him to seek advice.

IKEA IKEA Credit Card

I have been trying to setup IKEA Credit Card's automatic payment for some time without any success. I set up the automatic payment several times online in my account. It looked liked it was successfully setup. But then I was charged late fees. It happened several times.

On 5/13/2022 I found out that the automatic payment was unrolled and made payment manually 2 days after the due date which was 5/11/2022. I paid the full balance. However, I didn't know that a late fee of $40 was charged on my account.

When I checked my account in June IKEA Card charged late fee and interest on the late fee. I disputed the charge on 6/15/2022 and talked to Scott with ID 1i54. He could wave only one of the late fees. I still think that I shouldnt pay any fees since its automatic payment unrolled itself. I asked him to check this issue. I also talked to Wang at IKEA Card's dispute center. Noone could take care of the automatic payment issues. I dispute the late fee and interest charges on late fee. I also request IKEA Card to fix its sissues with Automatic Payment.
