poor customer service
I decided to leave this practice earlier this month. At that time I had one last visit scheduled to get a cortisone injection in my right knee. I had 3 visits in total of which I was never allowd to see a doctor. This pracitce refused to ever let me see a doctor and forced my to see a physician's assistant - Jackie Cotton (Pzinger).
On one occasion I had specifically asked to be scheduled in the Joliet office with Dr. R. Pzinger and I was told that was the case. When I arrived in slinked Jackie Cotton into my exam room the same way she had done previously on my first visit here.
I asked what's going on and where's the doctor? She said oh he only sees surgical patients.
It is my right to see a doctor and not be forced to see a P.A. This office was formerly MK Orthopaedics and Dr. Komanduri who under his practice he saw me once in the fall of 2018, sent my for MRI's of my knees and then abruply left the practice. I never got a letter
and did not know how to get the results of my MRI's. After many calls, this office told me they were now Illinois Ortopaedic Instutute.
They got me a referral for Dr. Ryan Pzinger supposedly to get the MRI results and discuss next steps. However I have never ever seen a doctor here!
You would think that after someone has MRI's of 45 minutes each per knee that a doctor would want to meet with the patient to discuss the next step.
Jackie Cotton tried to refer me to a "revision specialist" which was not in my network. My primary care's office scrammbled to find on that was. Once I saw one, Dr. Sullivan, he said he did not konw why Jackie Cotton wanted me to see a revision specialist, since I've never had knee surgery so what's to "revise".
My last encounter was earlier this mopnth when I was reluctantly going for one last visit to get my cortisone shot in my right knee, since Jackie Cotton had said at the time she did this injection in my left knee
the previous week, that I could only see her to get the shot in the other knee. I asked if I could have the ultrasound to do the injection so it got inthe right place. She said no they no longer had ultrasould for this and she would just do the shot and that she does not miss.
They set up my appointment for 2:40 pm. I arrived at 2:35 pm. When I got there the front desk receptionist said you were supposed to be here at 2:15 pm and I called you! I told her there was no call and when I got home there was no call. She had called my home phone so she said.
I was refused treatment by Jackie Cotton! What professional has a disabled lady such as myself who is riding a scotter come all the way from Westmont to Bolingbrook and refuses to see them over 5-10 minutes?! There was no one else in the waiting area either. I was very pleasant and cordial while waiting that day in the reception area while she went to talk to Jackie and then came and refused to see me.
I ran this scenario by my primary care and that doctor and many others thought this was outrageous also.
On October 28th I received a notice to go pick up a certified letter from my post opffice. I had to crawl all the way in there on my cane. I could not believe once I got thie letter that Jackie Pzinger had took the time out to send a certified letter that could have just been mailed or not sent at all! In the letter she said she would not treat me any more. Well, obviously since she would not see me she decided that
at the office, no need for a letter.
This is make certain that anyone reading this knows that it was myself not her that said I would not come anymore on the day she refused to see me.
Her letter was unnessary. I'm sorry that since I would not nuckel down and be treated like a subhuman by their practice that she felt the need to resue to treat me for an appointment she set up and felt the need for a letter.
When I go to a pracitce I want to see a DOCTOR, not a physicians assistant, and THAT is what I will do and is my right.
Someone needs to look into the lies I was told by the Joliet receptionist whe she lied and said I had an appointment with Dr. Ryan Pzinger.
Someone needs to look into this practice's policies that they do not communicate to patients about not letting some people see a doctor. Sorry, I'm worth and worthy of a doctor visit. How dare someone treat me otherwise!
I was discriminated against by this office because I am a fat and proud disabled lady.
