If you are deciding whether to buy or not to buy an InMotion dedicated server here is what you should know, before you
If you are deciding whether to buy or not to buy an InMotion dedicated server here is what you should know, before you do anything. I've been working with around 10 hosting companies over the years, so I do know the hosting market just enough to tell my opinion.
- The support chat is good! BUT, what you don't know when you make the purchase is that some of the most important issues concerning your hosting are done through a ticketing system and NOT on chat and NOT nearly as good as the chat they provide.
- Just to give you an idea of how the ticketing system works, I sent an email on 29 March and got a reply only on 4 April - that is 7 days. They are probably not always that late, sometimes you can get a reply in one or two days. But when you need an important answer, and your whole business depends on it, there are many other providers out there that do a much better job.
- Do NOT trust what they say in their package. The package I bought (Elite dedicated server), was advertised on their website to include 15 IP's, the exact words on their website are "15 Dedicated IPs". BUT when you buy the package you realize you have only one. When I got in touch with them to ask for just some of my IP's to configure my name servers (two for each domain like every name server should have), they said that they are "scarce" and they provide them only one for C-Panel. I felt tricked, and I advise you to NOT trust completely what they say on their offer, as "15 Dedicated IPs" as it says in their offer does not mean in any World or language "You get only one IP and maybe we'll provide an IP for every C-Panel as they are scarce".
- Their dashboard looks OK.
- Their dedicated servers are expensive. Make sure that you get the server they say that they give you.
- The first time I try to buy the server, their website got stuck, and they payment was in the air, as my bank blocked the payment, while from InMotion I got mixed replies; The second time the payment went smooth and there were no problems.
- if you chat with a sales person, they will probably tell you what you want to hear to make the purchase. They don;t know that much really, you need to talk to someone from the support department before you make the purchase. I was told by the sales person before I made the purchase that they can provide IP's from different classes so I can set up my server. Not only that that they cannot provide IP's from different classes as they allocate them randomly, but as I told you, you get only one IP.

InMotion Hosting Complaints 5
I received several emails from InMotion Hosting that contained false information about the due date and overdue status
I received several emails from InMotion Hosting that contained false information about the due date and overdue status of my account. I have been using InMotion for my domain name registration and website hosting for many years. Every year, I manually set my renewal about a month before it is due. In early April, I set both renewals to manual and confirmed with a representative that they were set as such. When I checked my account online, it showed that manual renewal was selected. My domain name is set to renew on April 20th and my website hosting on April 18th. However, on April 6th, I received an email stating that they were due on that day. I called and was informed that they start contacting people two weeks in advance, but the actual due dates were the ones I mentioned. The next day, I received an email from InMotion titled "Payment Due - 2nd Notice." It stated that my account was past due and immediate action was required to keep my site online. The email mentioned that they were attempting to bill my account with the username "writei7" for InMotion Hosting services, but they were unable to process the payment using the credit card ending in ***. A payment link was provided below the text. I called again and was reassured that nothing was actually due at that time. I asked for contact information for management to express my concerns, but I was directed to a section on their website instead. I submitted my concerns but did not receive a response. Several days later, I received another email titled "Payment Due - 3rd Notice." It stated that they had tried to contact me multiple times regarding the inability to renew my hosting account with the credit card ending in ***. It claimed that my account was past due and immediate attention was required to keep my site online. A day later, I received an email about a new service called Backup Manager that InMotion had signed up all clients for. It was activated on April 7th, and there was a one-week window to opt out before being charged. I immediately opted out and received a confirmation email. The following day, I received an email titled "Payment Due - 2nd Notice" stating that my Backup Manager account was overdue and they were attempting to bill my credit card for the 3-month subscription. This behavior is highly unethical. Firstly, neither my domain name registration nor my website hosting package were overdue. Secondly, they should not have been trying to charge my credit card since my account was set to manual renewal, not automatic. This same pattern has occurred every year with InMotion. I have reached my limit and can no longer tolerate this. As a businessperson, I cannot deceive my clients, and it is unacceptable for InMotion to continue deceiving their clients with misleading emails in order to prompt immediate payment. This practice by InMotion must stop immediately. I have also filed a formal complaint with the FTC. I hope you will investigate this matter and compel InMotion to cease these practices. Especially during a time when everyone is facing personal and financial stress, this behavior is even more inappropriate and demonstrates InMotion's complete disregard for their customers. I have attached screenshots of the emails mentioned in my complaint. Please feel free to contact me if you need further information. Thank you.
I received a series of emails from InMotion Hosting containing false statements about my account's due date and overdue status. I have maintained my domain name registration and website hosting with InMotion for several years. Annually, I switch my renewal settings to manual roughly a month before the renewal date. In early April, I confirmed that both my domain and hosting renewals were set to manual. I had a conversation with a representative who verified this. When I checked my account online, it indeed showed manual renewal settings. My domain name renews on April 20th and my website hosting on April 18th. On April 6th, I received an email incorrectly stating that my payments were due that day. After calling, I was informed that they start sending reminders two weeks prior to the actual due dates. The following day, an email arrived from InMotion titled 'Payment Due - 2nd Notice.' It incorrectly claimed that my account was past due and demanded immediate payment to keep my site online, attempting to charge a credit card with the main username of writei7. The email included a payment link. I called again, only to be reassured that no payment was due at that time. I inquired about how to contact management to voice my concerns and was directed to a section on their website. I received no reply to my feedback. Days later, another email arrived, 'Payment Due - 3rd Notice,' repeating the false claim of past due payment and attempted charges to a credit card. Subsequently, I received an email about a new service called Backup Manager, which was activated on April 7th, with a one-week opt-out period to avoid charges. I opted out immediately and received confirmation of my opt-out. Nevertheless, the next day, another 'Payment Due - 2nd Notice' email claimed my Backup Manager account was overdue. This pattern of unethical behavior is not new with InMotion; it has been a recurring issue each year. As a businessperson, honesty with my clients is paramount, yet InMotion continues to send misleading emails to coerce prompt payments. This practice is unacceptable and must cease. I have filed a formal complaint with the FTC and urge an investigation into these deceptive practices. Especially during times of widespread personal and financial strain, such conduct is even more reprehensible, reflecting InMotion's disregard for its customers. I have included screenshots of the referenced emails in my complaint. Please contact me for further details. Thank you.
They are trying to charge me extra for moving to them after being assured by sales they could move the account. I went over in detail before purchasing service what was needed on my account. I was leaving my previous provider because of poor service. Only to find out that the service wasn't any better at the inmotion. It is impossible to reach anyone by phone. I sent them the all information to complete the transfer and nothing was even done. Instead I get an email stating that if I wanted this completed I need to pay extra. I could have done all this myself. The entire reason I used inmotion is I thought this was a professional hosting company and they would be able to do it better than I can. The only person that took any time on the account was the sales person which was only to get the sale, once the sale was complete there was no followup.
Emails are bouincing, cannot log into inmotion hosting website either
Our small company (5 users) are experiencing bounce back emails and today it is not working at all.
Our CEO set up our account years ago with a credit card and we saved the last 4 digits of the card as we have learned by experience this is needed to access the account. Seems we made a payment since with another card (not sure which one) and was told the previous card # is not valid. I am not only blocked from my account, but as a COMPANY inmotion hosting does not offer any other way to get into your account. If I enter my domain and correct email, I get an error. Horrible customer service, hung up without any resolution or solutions from the representative except you need the last 4 digits of the credit card!
Desired outcome: FIX MY ACCOUNT
website hacking on wordpress
Bought domain registration and hosting wordpress hosting 2018.
6 months later, inmotionhosting send an email saying my sites were hacked.
They recommended I talk to Securi which just so happened to be their newly added Security partner. Very suspicious, now that Inmotionhosting provides security from hacking that my websites get hacked and they recommend talking to their partner to fix it.
I restored my sites from backup, included very high level security passwords, and next day my site was hacked again.
That was it for me, I moved to BLUE HOST services immediately.
The Services at INMOTION HOSTING over the years have progressively gotten worse
in regards to support. Now with the hacking, I would NOT recommend Inmotionhosting.

hosting, dedicated server
Stay away don't buy it any thing from "InMotionHosting.com". There server(s) are like a fuzy creapy and there customer support is very very bad as well. Don't Buy it any thing hosting, reseller hosting and dedicated servers.
Why i said this ! Short and Abstract Point of view.
1) Sales agent just grabbing your money nothing else first they entertain like a fruits then its full hell.
2) Support is 0%
3) Server downtime is approx 82.5% which you lost your businesses and they claim that they provide 99.99% else refund. When i ask them and send the proof as well they said that this is not or TOC you will face it. (Means you always lose your customers trust and businesses which is the main key !)
4) Suspend website by showing me the log of google and moz log that they they are utilizing high number of resources (sounds like creepy). So alternatively they are saying that All Web Bots agent has been stopped or company stop those bots for inmotionshosting .;) haha.
5) They suspend the website the and i got the email that root has suspended and i called them after 1.5 hours hold they crepy support agent said hold more to talk to the support agent then i talk and they told me what is this website i said this is for Mobile Apps Automated marketing niche platform they said that there server facing lots of resources consumption i said ok just unsuspend it our developer panel will look into this in and hours and then correct it. They said ok and they suspend it. I said i have one more technical issue they said ok we will transfer your call HOLD A BIT i said ok they hold around more then 45 minutes i waited then in the mean time i received another email from there server department that your website is again suspended. I am shocked and after the support agent received the call i talk it that why they again suspend it they told me the same reason I said What the hell is this even i can't open my website on the mean time with hardly 20 minutes they suspend it again and tell me and enforcing me to buy dedicated server i said why they said that there resources consumtion is so high and server is corrupt due to that i said gave me the log they said ok and they provide me the log for the google bots and moz bots ...

customer service
http://www.inmotionhosting.com/ - We went on line and for the most part read good thing about InMotion. We have only been with InMotion a short time and our measured experience would be rated as a D-.
We signed up asking for our hub out of LA and we were placed on the East Coast. Of course we went down with everyone else but they got us up and working and kept us informed while getting it done. I did ask to be moved to to LA as per my original request and they advised they would comply. They submitted a ticket and because I have an auto responder I received email twice every minute as our auto responders talked to each other. I call and they fixed the problem. My server went down again about a week later. I called and they fixed it in less than 2 hours. I again asked if they moved me to LA. Not done yet.
Today they completed the task and sent me an email and our auto responders promptly begin talking to each other again. This was after I asked that they not put me into the system because of the email spamming problem. I called and learned that they had moved me to the server location originally request and thanked them. I also requested that they fix the email problem and they advised that was my problem. I told them that I get auto responses from my clients and businesses and this does not occur so why was this my problem. They advised they would not fix it on their end and that it worked well for their other customers.
I asked (I believe his name was Chase) to talk to customer service and was told they were busy and that customer service advised that I could cancel my service by going to InMotion.net/cancel.
I thought I would get faster ISP service than what I received from Go Daddy but instead I got more downtime and the Customer Service?
On the Customer Service issue they could take some lessons from Go Daddy. At this point in time I am very disappointed with InMotion and could not recommend them to anyone.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I requested to cancel last year but they renewed me again. I requested to cancel and refund they said they would cancel on the renewal date in December 2024. It's not much money but the idea that they take money out of your account before giving notice is highly unethical in my opinion. The customer service was not responsive to my request.
Eyesam.co.uk - spent 4 hours battling with 3 different online support specialist
To be told that imagick php module was installed the if I want this option I would have to upgrade...
[samuel inverary] no ticket raise... no escalation and zero satisfaction. maybe twitter and moving my business may focus inmotion.
Totally dissatisfied customer.
One of their servers has been down for 5 days. They offer no customer service, promise callbacks and never call. Every time you go onto their chat helpline you get the response "we are working on it". After 5 days and begging them to move me to another server, they agreed saying it would take 72 hours. They refused to call me and said they would speak to me only if I phoned in. They simply don't take any responsibility for the product they offer.
nmotion hosting complaint!?!?
“Hello, I do not prefer to submit my photo ID, so could you please cancel my account and charge back the amount I ‘ve paid? ?”
