My wife and I had an extremely unpleasant and offensive experience at your store located in Woodfield Mall today.
We went to your establishment to request the repair of a ring we purchased about a year ago, from which a diamond had come loose. The person who attended to us displayed very poor behavior, showing racist, offensive, and extremely ironic attitudes. When explaining our situation and our lack of knowledge about the terms of the warranty, the individual insinuated that we were trying to scam the store. We were unaware that the warranty required us to bring the ring for maintenance every four months, and this was never communicated to us at the time of purchase. Furthermore, he treated us disrespectfully and accused us of trying to get a free repair when we mentioned that we hadn't read the fine print on the receipt detailing this requirement.
We were told that the repair would cost us $75, an amount we consider excessive, especially considering that it's a small diamond within a ring that originally cost around $300. However, the most concerning aspect is not the cost itself but the ironic and disrespectful tone of the employee, as well as his aggressive attitude towards my wife, including raising his voice and displaying racist behavior and physically expressing his frustration through violent gestures. Even when other employees attempted to intervene to inquire about our situation, he didn't allow them to speak.
This experience has been extremely unpleasant, and we wouldn't wish it upon anyone. A salesperson displaying racist, aggressive, and ironic attitudes is not suitable for a jewelry store that sells products targeted towards families and women. My wife was deeply affected by the treatment we received, so we decided to leave without paying for the service. The employee's reaction to this decision was even more hostile, and even when I asked for his name and an email address to send a formal complaint, he responded ironically saying "Oh, how scary."
Today is our wedding anniversary (June 4th), and my initial intention was to surprise my wife with another ring. However, due to this experience, I chose to purchase it elsewhere.
We hope that the company takes this complaint seriously and takes action regarding the behavior of its employees. We request a formal apology from both the individual responsible and the company as a whole.

Today, on November 6th, nearly a month later, I was informed that they do not have my ring and cannot resolve the issue. They offered to replace it with a different ring, which is not what I had originally ordered. This has been an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience, especially considering the significant amount of money I spent ($5000) and the fact that the ring was supposed to be ready by November 15th. They are refusing to provide a refund, which is unacceptable. The customer service at this store is abysmal, and it seems that many others have also had negative experiences. I not only did not receive the correct ring, but I did not receive any ring at all. I am now seeking to dispute the charge.

However, after a couple of weeks, I noticed condensation inside the Movado watch, even though I had only worn it indoors. Concerned about the issue, I returned to the store and explained the situation to the employee. He asked me for a receipt, and I informed him that I only had the credit card receipt and not the paper copy. Fortunately, he recognized me and assured me that he could assist me. However, as soon as I showed him the watch and its condition, he abruptly insisted on seeing the paper receipt before offering any help. I requested to see his records, but he claimed that he did not keep any. This led to a heated argument that lasted for five minutes, and I eventually left the store. Seeking a second opinion, I consulted a different jeweler who examined my watch and revealed that the store employee had lost a screw, damaged the seal, and resorted to using tape to secure the battery, resulting in the water damage. Unfortunately, the Movado watch is now completely ruined due to the negligence during the $55 battery replacement, and the employee refuses to accept any responsibility for the damage.

Today, I went back to the store to speak with the manager and explain that the diamond was in perfect condition when I brought it to them. I had purchased it just two weeks ago and had kept it in the box. I informed the manager that their jeweler must have damaged the surface. However, he began arguing with me, claiming that it was not possible. I insisted that it was indeed possible and that their jeweler had made a mistake, especially considering it was a black diamond. Instead of rectifying their error by polishing the diamond at no additional cost, the manager continued to argue and even provided false information about the clarity of black diamonds. This lack of willingness to resolve the dispute amicably and the damage caused to my $3,000 diamond, purchased for my mother's 50th anniversary, has led me to write this review and advise potential customers to take their business elsewhere. The manager's behavior was that of an unscrupulous merchant who refused to take responsibility for the services provided. Now, I have to find another place to remove the blemishes from my diamond and pay extra out of my own pocket due to their jeweler's negligence. I kindly request a full refund for this service.
